Clearly we will now be shopping in a very different market. I actually don't think many of our players will be in demand.

I think Taty, Mavropanos, Areola, Todibo will be out the door. The others I think it's a flip of a coin. That is inclusive of Wan Bissaka, Bowen, Summerville.

It worries me some are keen to just chuck the youngsters in. Other than Potts, Earthy, who are closer than the rest, and by some distance - the others are way off senior football, particularly in the Championship.

We were linked with Hackney before, that would be a serious statement of intent from the club. Although I accept there may well be bigger clubs now in for him this summer.

Scarles, Kante, Marshall, Magassa are all good enough for the Championship, and others can play a role too. There's literally no point in having an academy if we block their progress and never use them.

2.) 25 May 2026 19:47:18
Totally agree, Robbo. When is the best time to blood them, if not in the Championship? We need to bring them through gradually, as we used to do.

3.) 25 May 2026 20:23:44
I would have thought a Prem team would have been in for Hackney, as we should have been previously. If we had started with a midfield of Fernandes, Hackney, Paqueta, we probably would not have gone down. Instead, we started with JWP, Soucek and Irving as our midfield options.

4.) 25 May 2026 21:05:00
I think there is plenty of talent in the youth side. Many said Kante wasn't good enough, but apart from when we played a lower-league side in the cup (can't remember who), he has given a good account of himself. When he first played for West Ham, I was massively impressed with Potts, but if anything he has regressed, but hopefully a new manager can get the best out of him.

Scarles is better than Diouf. Don't know much about Earthy and Marshall.

5.) 25 May 2026 21:53:26
I have my doubts on Scarles. No doubt the fans want him to do well, but I see him playing lower down the pyramid in a few years.

I only single out Earthy and Potts, as both have won awards whilst out on loan with other clubs, Young / Player of the Year with their respective clubs. Lewis Orford is the other worth a mention.

Marshall might have a breakout season, but I would worry if it were him and another as the main forward options. I agree we should be looking to offer opportunities to the youngsters, but to say Kante, Fearon etc. is the midfield is a no from me. I don't see any of those, other than those I've specified, being West Ham players in the long run.

Driving home from the game today, my overarching feeling once it sank in that we are going to be playing Lincoln, Bolton & Charlton, was - we will be back.

I will renew my season ticket, I will probably do even more away days next year. I go with my brother who is less likely to go to every game, so I will go with my three year old daughter who absolutely loves West Ham.

There can only be brighter days ahead. West Ham till I die.

1.) 24 May 2026 21:39:17
Well said, mate.

2.) 25 May 2026 12:47:54
I'm not renewing my season ticket. I spent too much money going to away games. Time to start looking after the family.

19 May 2026 17:21:18
Most of the people I have spoken to since the Newcastle game seem to have accepted our fate. I still hold out some hope.

Spurs have a truly wretched record at Stamford Bridge and have won 2 home games season, whilst Everton have been impressive on the road this year. I will be there on Sunday and if Spurs go behind and we take the lead it's on.

It would be the ultimate parting gift if Moyes were to keep us up. I was always Moyes in.

Whatever happens I will renew my season ticket and support and follow the club regardless.

1.) 19 May 2026 18:57:52
I can see Everton giving Spurs a good game, and if our prem status is still a chance, then I believe Moyes will want to do all he can to help us. But I still think we will go down. I just hope it doesn't end up being on goal difference.

2.) 19 May 2026 22:16:57
With the Chelsea result tonight, I am even more incensed at our performance on Sunday. I think Spurs will get at least a point against Everton. I have virtually reconciled myself to us going down, and I think, even if we were to stay, we will be limping along to another looming disaster.

We need a clear out and a reset. I can't make up my mind if I renew my season ticket. Too many midweek games for my liking.

3.) 19 May 2026 22:23:27
Belief still here, but have been worried about gd since January. Really needed a point from Arsenal or Newcastle. Hope Leeds fold to pay back Spurs, or put an entire bench of kids for dead rubber PL experience.

4.) 20 May 2026 06:21:41
Problem is, that if we should stay up, nothing will change.

5.) 20 May 2026 10:07:36
What are the odds we win and Spurs draw, equalising in the 95th minute?

27 Apr 2026 17:06:37
Just a suggestion, Marlon Harewood was at the game at the weekend, I think he should be blamed for us losing on penalties to Leeds in the cup.

Those keen to see the back of Moyes will admit it’s been a total disaster since, European football is currently miles away.

At this rate we are going to end up like Watford, constantly sacking managers and only being able to sign mercenaries because the manager that signed you and liked you probably won’t be here in 6 months. It’s a one way ticket to a baron Championship wasteland.

IronGeez

1.) 18 Aug 2025 16:20:04
Whilst I see your point the situation with Watford was slightly different in that it was their chairman and their board continually moving managers on because they didn’t the position the club attained was good enough. I don’t think the fans actually wanted rid of many of those managers because some of them were very good. Same with Southampton.
Personally I didn’t mind Moyes but his last couple of seasons were absolutely dire and many of the things he did then are why we are suffering now. Having a really old squad hardly ever rotating the players so in they were completely knackered. He also got numerous old players on long contracts, really high salaries and we can thank him for JWP and Danny Ings.
We have the double whammy of an absolutely useless board employing totally unsuitable managers with no real plan for the club. Most clubs have directors of football so it shouldn’t matter who comes in to manage as they will have to work with what players the DOF has provided. It is a system Potter should be very familiar with as that is what was used at Brighton and Chelsea.
As I said at the start I do see your point where I don’t believe it is a good idea continually changing managers but Sullivan employed Loppy who nobody wanted and then had to get rid of him. I still feel as poor as he was he should have stayed to seasons end because we were not going to get relegated, and start a fresh this season. But ultimately for me it’s about the football and entertainment and hopefully a bit of success and I don’t think we are wrong to want that.

2.) 18 Aug 2025 18:27:56
Certainly getting exciting football under Potter now eh! Think I much preferred Moyesball.

Egg, face? Haha, days like today don’t come around very often.

Support the team, back the manager. Enjoy the armchairs.

Especially at Old Trafford. 18 years since we won at Man Utd!

2.) 11 May 2025 20:07:25
We won in fa cup 2016 when payet scored free kick was last time I think

3.) 11 May 2025 20:45:38
2007 was the last time

4.) 11 May 2025 21:08:09
Actually Moyes won at old Trafford in 2021 in league cup

5.) 11 May 2025 21:30:34
Redrobbo, that free kick payet scored was cancelled out, Utd equalised then we lost the replay.

Tinlegs is definitely a closet Ward-Prowse fan. Your posts indicate you would play a 1 in midfield as you have sold everyone else and bought, well, no one.

Any suggestions yet? Attempt number 13…

Hi Moanlegs, attempt number 3. To shift out the 3 players would be, without replacements, inept at best. Can you outline who you would like to see come in and replace those 3 midfielders.

Let’s keep it realistic. I did ask you before last season which strikers you would like to see, you replied Haaland. Hopefully this isn’t as painful and long winded as last season, although we are already at attempt 3.

Considering you know so much, it’s a very simple request. Looking forward to your response.

Ah yes, you are the legal brain here Tinlegs. Give us the legal frameworks in which these lawyers are working. I’m sure there are lots of readers of the website that would appreciate your expert insight.

Odd response - if you want to play schoolboys on the internet, RedRobbo, fine. If you can highlight where I have called anyone names, like we are Y8 students, please alert me. I won't be drawn into that nonsense.

Yes, a minority of supporters in a crowd of 60,000 is statistically likely.

It's not a case of whether I want to be entertained or not.

I would go to West Ham in League 2. I follow the club around the country, almost every week. I take my kids, just as my dad did with me 25 years ago. Again, what are you going to do? Cry on the internet all year? I go, support my club, follow the ritual, every week. Does that make me superior? Odd comment - but no. Stick to the armchair.

By Cooper I mean Michael Cooper - Sheffield United goalkeeper. I have doubts about Hermansen.

Hackney I admit is a stretch, but I think that would be a marquee signing that signals clear intent.

RedRobbo - wrong, as usual. Both had a break clause where there would be no compensation paid.

Why people can't get behind the team is beyond me. Actually to be fair those in the stadium do, certainly have done since Christmas. Those armchairs on the other hand - love a moan.

I sit within view of you, Hammer-D, and I saw that.

I wonder what the atmosphere will be like next season, where the expectation is that we win. I always found the atmosphere best when we were beating teams we weren't expected to. Will it be bouncing when we are three up against, say, Swansea?

Wouldn't waste the energy, Stevie66. I posted earlier. I am, so far, the only one to offer a name attached to a transfer: Hackney and Cooper. I also said I wouldn't have been disappointed with Parker, purely based on the fact he is Championship proven.

What you get on here is moaning without solutions, from some (not all) posters.

What drives me nuts with these types of posts is - not one suggestion that fits a championship narrative.

As far as I can see I am the only one who has made a transfer suggestion, albeit speculative, but not unreasonable. I'd throw Michael Cooper into that list.

If Nuno went I wouldn't be downbeat, now he is staying I am not downbeat. I would have been ok with Scott Parker if he was appointed.

What are you going to do? Complain all season. As far as I can see, certainly within the stadium is that the fans support the club with everything, regardless of manager. The fans have been incredibly supportive since Christmas, incredibly supportive. Even on the last day, knowing we were going - the fans kept singing.
