Any truth to the Duran rumours currently resurfacing?

I think it is clear for all to see that West Ham are confident of bringing in two players on loan from Premiership clubs before the end of the window.
Premier League clubs are only allowed to register a maximum of two players on loan at any one time from other English top-flight sides, and if we were only looking to bring in one, we wouldn't of sent Igor Julio back to Brighton.
Sending Julio back to Brighton means we have two domestic loan slots open. So a goalkeeper and a centre back.
I can see us signing either Kinsky from Spurs or Ortega from Man City on loan to boost our keeper options and whether I like it or not I think Disasi on loan is our only likely target at centre back.
I know that means we don't spend the Paqueta money, but I can't shake the feeling that we already did when buying Castellanos and Pablo.
I think that'll be the end of our transfer window, unless we look to replace Guido and Ward-Prowse in midfield with someone like Tochukwu Nnadi from Zulte Waregem from Belgian. Although I don't think that's on the cards any more and I think we'll be seeing more of Magassa now the two of them have gone.
I think there is a chance West Ham consider a short term deal for Sterling, but that won't happen until after the window shuts.

I don't disagree about Sterling being past his best, but I can see us signing him until the seasons end in an attempt to score our way out of relegation contention.
Personally I think Ortega is the better short term option until seasons end, because Kinsky, whilst young and undoubtedly talented, he is still raw and not enough top flight experience in a European top 5 league.
Disasi is the most likely centre back option, and I think we need to accept that he won't be followed up with another centre back signing. He will be exactly the same as Igor Julio because he won't start unless injuries or suspensions leave us with no other choice. HOWEVER, he is in my opinion a better defender than Igor Julio (faster, stronger, better in the air and may well get the best out of Todibo) .
Zalewski is a better player than Nnadi at present, but they are also completely different.
Zalewski is a left sided wing back / winger that can also play as an attacking midfielder and right winger. Think young, raw version of Davide Zappacosta (ex-Chelsea, Roma and Atalanta), Filipe Kostic (ex-Juventus and Frankfurt) .
Nnadi is a high energy, physical, aggressive defensive midfielder. He is a tenacious ball winner. Think Wilfred Ndidi (ex-Leicester City) . He has publicly said he tries to base his game play on N'Golo Kante and Moises Caicedo.

Bloody good job, Sullivan in reality insulted Botafogo John Victor, and his agent, they had bought air tickets, paid for Hotel etc in advance, they were left in limbo, then let down, WH went ahead with no hands, tbh disgraceful behaviour from a premiership club,

Seems unlikely as he's a winger and Potter doesn't play wingers. Not even when he has one of the best in the world already at his disposal. Maybe we should buy Rowe anyway and play him as an 8. At least when GP falls out of favour we'd have 4 exciting wide players for the inevitable replacement.

This may not be popular, but with yet more vultures circling, I'd like to state an opinion.
I have mostly enjoyed our Premiership status over the years, if not much of the tactics. However, I would much rather watch a Championship team made up of academy graduates playing with freedom and hope than a bunch of mercenaries parking the bus or playing sideways and backwards with fear. Potts out, Engels in is a symptom of the malaise of modern football, Stavelys interest in making yet more money from a third short term investment in a historic club is yet another.
Brady famously called us customers. If we continue to support success by any means, rather than supporting the development of those players who come to us from an early age and who the club has identified as having talent, then that really is all we are.

I would agree with a certain amount of what you said, AOII.
I didn't see the Magdeburg game, but if it was as bad as the Rangers performance then I can't say I am looking forward to the upcoming game. I don't know if he did the same, having the so-called first team on, and then bring in all the youth players? But all the preseason games I have seen, when the youth have come on, they have improved our performances by a mile. More pace and ability to keep the ball. But then people say 'they're not up to it' blah blah blah. The only way you become better is by playing at the higher levels on a more regular basis. I am not saying throw out all the first team for the youth, but think more should be interpreted into that first team asap.
A lot of fans only want to see their clubs win something or be in the prem, well, that ain't the situation for me.
I support West Ham because I grew up in East Ham and I also loved the way we played the game. I want to see entertainment. I hear people say they still get the nervous knot in your stomach when you go over to a match. Sadly I don't, maybe I've become passionless? I do enjoy going over there. But I think having had a similar brand of grey football served up over the last 4 managers isn't helping, making it the joyous experience it should be.
On the vultures circling thing, I have heard from Newcastle fans who are a similar sort of fanbase to our own, who only praise Amanda Stavely as she seems to take on board what the fans want, and yes her bottom line is to make a lot of money but still do it in a way that benefits all. So I live in hope.

The football has been dross for a good few years. The last time we were a bit exciting to watch was when Lingard was here. Of course, there has been the odd game here and there, but in general these boring, safety-first managers seem to have been the way the board have wanted to go, and as a result we are left with the players we have now who aren't capable of doing much else.

I'm not so sure that's correct, Joyful. Whilst we don't have a wealth of creative or attacking players, we have numerous players who are being coached to play in a much more restrictive manner.
Potts is a good example; he was played in a much more forward-thinking way when loaned out, getting numerous assists and a few goals. Also, Kante is a decent box-to-box player, but Nuno has him as a DM.

Forest played a low-block counter style when he was there, and he had good attacking players like Gibbs-White and Elanga. I think it's just his style, to be honest. His boring style was also a big part of why he lost his job at Spurs.

All four of those players 4-5 years ago would have been worth signing on a free, not sure any of them are now, with the exception of MAYBE Oxlade-Chamberlin, who is currently training with Arsenal.
He is the only one of those four players that has actually been playing regular, competitive football in the last few seasons.

Alvarez is hardly responsible for where we are, and would be a huge player for us in the Championship. I'd be happy if he stayed.
Todibo would be a huge paper loss; there's talent there, too.
Fullkrug is unlikely to be fit or capable of doing a job for us, and, of the three, he should be the first through the door.

It'll be all the more difficult if those who spend their days complaining on every possible outlet, site, or channel are the only voices in the room.
I have no doubt that we've turned a corner in terms of professionalism, and that we have the core building blocks to be successful this season. There's a bit still to do, but, considering the mess that Bs created, there is now a lot to be optimistic about.
The right players will slot in seamlessly. Taking time to find them should not be rushed just because we now have a few quid in the bank. There's so much negativity from some quarters, you'd wonder whether they are true fans.

Joyfully, I really appreciate your posts and information. However, I feel that, maybe with the circles you move in, the churn of signings seems to be a priority.
We need two or three, Disasi or another cb, a creative leader, possibly a loan much like Lingard was, and a dependable left winger for when Summerville "takes the soup".
The academy should be able to cover the squad places. There's plenty of talent there, as long as they're not expected to do the heavy lifting.

Read the BBC article on it, was there anything in the documentary that suggested illegality? Sordid, sleazy? yes, fit and proper? Probably not
But. His pre-existing criminal record didn't affect him owning a club for over the last 2 decades.
Do we want him back? Not a chance.
However this is hardly Weinstein, Epstein, Andrew M-W or Netenyahu territory, unless further claims come out. Wonder what Ampika and Brady had to do to or know to gain their "special" status?
