Joyful might have mentioned this before but we've been offered Bamba Dieng season long loan. Also now taking serious look at Manor Solomon (not great injury record), Troy Parrott and of course Engels.
Marseille losing Aguerd to Saudi so expect Tobido movement soon.
I reckon we will need 2 strikers, 3 midfielders, 2 cbs and depending on what happens with Diouf and AWB 2 full backs.
Could be a busy week.
1.) 03 Aug 2026 10:22:53
Needs to be, mate, whilst our needs are great, and with time closing down, looks to be a bit limited.
As of last night there are no agreements in place, no medical booked.
My gut feeling is 4 players, 2 before kick off, 2 before window shuts.
I just don't see a procession of players turning up, sincerely hope I'm wrong.
2.) 03 Aug 2026 10:52:55
It's a piss take. They soon had season tickets on sale!!!!
3.) 03 Aug 2026 11:23:41
Is Kretinski the new Sullivan without the shabby characteristics.
4.) 03 Aug 2026 12:56:03
No, he's a class act, problem being, he has an energy company that produces more profit in 12 months than West Ham is worth!
For him, it's a matter of choosing priorities, West Ham so far is a small investment, 1.4 % of his value, that's where it's at.
01 Aug 2026 16:32:30
Magdeburg game today showed we have no pace or quality and when we have the ball no target men up front.
We need 2 or 3 quality midfielders and at least 2 strikers with pace.
And I must admit, with 55 years as a West Ham fan through thick and thin. Nuno worries me.
I can't see a game plan where we want to dominate teams which we should be. He has such a negative approach to not losing rather than wanting to win.
And clearly, we need 5 or 6 signings and we need them Now!!! Not in 3 weeks, not at the end of the window, Now!!
1.) 01 Aug 2026 17:15:17
Absolutely. We were piss poor. I'm afraid our youngsters are just not up to scratch. Orford did nothing, lost the ball a lot, and looks lightweight. Scarles offers no threat. I like Kante, but he was bad today. Lamadrid was ok.
Zero pace in that team, especially if Diouf goes. Very worrying indeed.
2.) 01 Aug 2026 20:00:59
Yeah, not a fan of Nuno's tactics. I remember watching a video a while back on them, and I vaguely remember the person analysing his tactics, and it was about how he tries to control the game without the ball.
Said before I don't think 442 suits our players either. Pablo again not involved much; times where he could have taken a touch, laid it off, but decided to take 3 or 4 more, then has to go back. Honestly, think JWP might be quicker as we.
Lamadrid had quite a lot of the ball in good positions but didn't really do anything with it. I think Earthy, in the same situations, would have made better use of it, but he's barely been given a chance. Wouldn't be surprised if he's pushed to the door by Nuno despite not getting a real chance.
Kante I thought was good today, but he was awful against Rangers. Despite his size, he's not a defensive midfielder, more of an 8.
Orford, from what I can recall, only gave the ball away once. Other than that, he seemed to keep things simple and always made himself available for the pass.
With Potts looking likely to go, I think we are only left with one proper ball winner in there in Magassa, and he hasn't even played yet.
I fear at some point we will end up with JWP, Soucek and Pablo on the pitch at the same time. We assembled probably one of the slowest teams in the Prem; we might end up with one of the slowest in the Championship at this rate.
Any players we sign now I doubt will be starting in our first few games. Nuno will probably favour the players he's worked with in preseason, like how when he first came in and played the likes of Irving and Soucek in midfield for a couple games. Wasted points that could have kept us up. We have a tough start also.
30 Jul 2026 18:58:17
So Amanda Stavley and her consortium planning to buy gold shares.
This explains why we've bought nobody... really?
1.) 30 Jul 2026 20:03:41
Makes sense, I would guess that the consortium would also want to own the stadium & the area around it. That must be worth mega bucks (pun intended, as it's probably Americans).
Spurs wanted 2Bn so West Ham would be peanuts compared to that deal.
2.) 30 Jul 2026 20:13:22
One outlet is reporting she's close to a deal worth £150m. Kretinsky and the other shareholders must be in agreement, as they get first refusal on any shares that become available. Let's hope this doesn't take too long, as we need to put a team/squad together.
3.) 30 Jul 2026 20:18:30
I think it's linked to the Reuben brothers, who are UK citizens, I believe, and who had something to do with the building of the Olympic Park.
4.) 31 Jul 2026 00:29:56
Makes sense, Stavely, the face running and growing the club.
Kretinsky can take a back seat again.
Be interesting to find who this consortium is.
27 Jul 2026 14:33:53
So it's official, Taty has told the club he wants out!
1.) 27 Jul 2026 15:14:59
Just our luck. We get stuck with the donkey Pablo and the decent one of the two wants out.
2.) 27 Jul 2026 15:18:13
To be honest, I thought he did that at the season's end. I doubt he will be the only one either; so far, only Bowen has openly committed to ud for next season.
3.) 27 Jul 2026 15:35:15
This is old. News by three weeks. Posted about this earlier.
4.) 27 Jul 2026 15:46:59
I think we all knew, but now it seems it's official. Just when I was hoping we could keep him.
Please, if there is a god, I hope we arnt relying on Pablo lmao. ? ? ?
5.) 27 Jul 2026 16:20:07
Re Pablo. As posted before, I played in the Conference League for years, and managed that club for two seasons. I can only tell you what I see. This player would not make that team, or its second team either.
This is not a case of rudeness; it is fact. What on earth is this player (no, he is not a player) doing at West Ham? Does anybody know, football reasons only, please.
6.) 27 Jul 2026 18:44:02
Beyond me, Joyful. That kid from Orient at £8m would be a lot better shout, or the geeza from Coventry. Sell Pablo and use the 50p towards half time pie.
7.) 27 Jul 2026 21:17:52
There were a couple of stories that there was interest in Pablo that quickly evaporated.
What on earth would Haji Wright come to WH for? His intention at present is to leave Coventry as a free agent at season's end. To buy him now would cost £15 m /20 m. Not that that's bad, it's good, but WH are barrel scraping, those kind of figures are not in the brief.
They simply have not gripped reality, that strikers are expensive but can get you out of this league. So far, I've been surprised by WH lack of ambition, so have many others.
26 Jul 2026 08:56:38
I'm hearing Taty has instructed his agents he doesn't want to play in the Championship so to find him a new club? You heard anything similar joyful?
1.) 26 Jul 2026 12:00:56.
This has been the case for the last three weeks. No club has come forward as yet with a substantial bid; same applies to Bissaka. Lots of talk, but nothing has come about.
Arsenal do not want to pay more than £15 m plus 3 m additions for Bissaka, and they are presently the highest bidders.
Two unnamed Italian clubs and one Spanish club have enquired regarding Taty. One is believed to be Juventus, who wanted to pay 20 m euro, which was refused. Another may be Villarreal, who wanted a loan, with an option, not an obligation.
Why would West Ham entertain this? They won’t. Players have signed a contract. If a club comes in with a proper offer for either of these two, then it must be considered. Until then, forget it.
Problem for West Ham is, the closer it gets to kickoff, the more reluctant they will be to sell. But will a big bid for either player force their hand?
2.) 26 Jul 2026 17:08:40
Worries me that kickoff will come, and clubs will come in with offers we cant refuse, leaving us scrambling around for the scraps that are left.
On another note, Wrexham having decent pre season so far, beating a half strength Man Utd team 1-0 and Leeds 3-2. Should be interesting when they come calling.
3.) 26 Jul 2026 18:39:50
Wrexham look very good from what ive seen, much quicker and fitter than us anyway.
4.) 26 Jul 2026 19:11:25
Wrexham join the list of clubs who are better than West Ham at this time. That's my opinion.

04 Aug 2026 08:19:26
Why are we so set on chasing Engels?
If Celtic wish to hold out for £25m then there must come a point where Gus Hamer at £5m to £10m becomes a lot more appealing, and Sydie Peck at £10m surely.
Also just heard we are in talks with Burnley for Broja and using Scarles as a make weight!!! This has to be an April fool joke coming late???
1.) 04 Aug 2026 08:50:33
I hope not, Broja has never scored goals at any level. Awful player, another clogger to add to the rest of them, we already have.
2.) 04 Aug 2026 09:17:51
Mac, you are very good at spending other people's money.
I would wager you are the guy who won't spend the extra £1 of his own money in Sainsbury's to get the Fox's Bisquits, and sticks the regular ones in the trolley, but is happy to overpay millions for Sydie Peck.
3.) 04 Aug 2026 09:50:52
Broke nooooooo.
We have been down this road many a time. Many here really wanted him, but as Robbo said, he failed at every level, can't even get in the Burnley side. Scarles hasn't been too good of late, but he has shown real ability before, so he should be capable.
4.) 04 Aug 2026 09:56:49
I have to say selling Potts for 10m then buying Peck for 10m doesn't make much sense, Mac. We have to believe there is a bigger strategy being played out behind the scenes. The power tussle won't be helping matters, but it only helps Stavelys consortium if we stayed down, all the other shareholders will want promotion.
We have 4 weeks yet and bought Fernandes at the last minute last year and he integrated fine. Keep the faith, matey.
5.) 04 Aug 2026 16:20:47
As I said, I'm mainly concerned about the team on the pitch. The fact this is obviously dictating transfer policy at the moment is the reason I brought it up. The concern from myself is, if we are not signing anyone because of this, then we won't sign anyone, as the window will be closed by the time it's sorted.
04 Aug 2026 08:13:18
Wrexham signed Preston captain for £3m and this is why its good to have knowledge of the players in the league your in.
1.) 04 Aug 2026 09:14:21
What do you know of this player? You must know something to be banging the drum. I personally have seen very little to suggest we should be signing this player.
2.) 04 Aug 2026 09:18:40
Yeah, and it's a bloody big drum. Wanna try it!!!!
3.) 04 Aug 2026 12:29:55
So back to the original question, what do you know of this player? You've chosen to ignore it so my spidey senses are telling me you know nothing!
Deja-vu, this sounds like when you really liked the business Wrexham had done, which at the time of posting was zero.
20 Jul 2026 16:30:12
Facing up to the fact that money isn't the biggest challenge in this window.
It's finding players that Nuno actually wants to come to us, and for the right price before other clubs jump in (let's face it, we never do anything in a hurry).
1.) 20 Jul 2026 19:21:33
As you know, the problem is players are choosing the Premier teams; if one is in competition, West Ham have left it late, and they may not get the people that are top of their list.
West Ham have a strategy, but the problem is no one seems to know what it is.
2.) 21 Jul 2026 06:19:55
I don't think the West Ham hierarchy know either. 3 weeks to go till new season kicks off, and still all we hear is "interested in, considering"!!
17 Jul 2026 12:03:04
Lot of fans beginning to get frustrated with the lack of any movement whatsoever.
Before ya know it, new season will kick off and we will still be in same place.
This squad has no pace, energy and it's old.
1.) 17 Jul 2026 13:19:05
Other than that it's fine !!
2.) 17 Jul 2026 16:26:39
Lmfao yeah that will do lol. ? ?
3.) 18 Jul 2026 11:24:47
We've lost 5 1st team squad players from last season, Fernandes, Wilson, Fabianski, Disasi and Traore. Our squad wasn't exactly stacked as it was. Kick-off is in 3 weeks. I keep reading how it's refreshing that we wont sell players cheap.
I'd wager there is little interest in those players, as they simply aren't very good and are on ridiculous contracts in most cases, so hanging on to players we don't want and are useless is actually hampering us now.
4.) 18 Jul 2026 11:57:29
Robbo there was no chance of Fernandez staying even if we had stayed up. Indont think the players we are trying to keep are JWP, Todibo and Cornet but they are difficult to shift because of Moyes and Steidten and Sullivan getting them in the first place and putting them on ridiculous contracts. Maybe you are referring to Killman another player on a ridiculous contract courtesy of Loppy Steidten and Sully. He should be able to do a job in the championship if absolutely necessary. Hopefully we will get a couple of players in over the next couple of weeks and as I've said before we have numerous members of the youth team to fill the squad. And before anyone shoots me down by saying they are not good enough, people have to remember we are no longer in the prem and many were singing their praises over the last few seasons as they had performed well in generally championship teams.
So why can't they do it at West Ham in the championship.
The changes we have gone through since seasons end are dramatic and I think for the best. I personally think we will get promoted straight back but I do sometimes suffer from over optimism. Rome wasn't built in a day and the new chairman can't just buy Sullivan out as that C&@t is going to try and get as much Money as he can and will not just sell for a lower price to make everyone happy. Even if it takes us longer than one season to get back to the prem I would say it is worth it to finally be rid of the poisoned dwarf
5.) 18 Jul 2026 13:13:13
My point, Hammer, is we have a weaker squad than we did last season, when it wasn't exactly great. It's looking more like we are carrying on with the tactic of not buying anyone before we sell, but due to lack of interest we can't sell. Maybe the board, or Koppen, or whoever is responsible for selling, may want to re-evaluate their valuations of players.
The Championship is a tough league, with games coming thick and fast, we have lost 5 first team squad players with no replacements already (Summerville will go also).
The season kicks off in 3 weeks, so even if a miracle happens and we sign 4 players this week, pre-season is very limited, and we are simply repeating mistakes from years gone by again.
On the Sullivan bit, nothing has happened with his shares, and there is no sign of anything happening. He will probably just end up keeping his shares.
6.) 18 Jul 2026 13:54:23
Christ, Redrobbo, why are you so negative over everything? We've lost 2 players. And Bowens staying. Believe me, Parker and Demba Ba took more replacing than Fernandes, and Summerville will. As things stand, it's still the strongest squad by far in the Championship, and Kretinsky will spend. Don't worry about that.
7.) 18 Jul 2026 14:19:28
Callum Wilson, Disasi, Adama Traore and Fabianski don't count then?
What makes you think Kretinsky will spend? He hasn't done so far, has he?
Point out things as I see them isn't negative, it's realistic. If you think we have a great squad, well done, that's your opinion.
I have mine and have said on a previous post where I think we are lacking. I'm looking forward to seeing the great defence, creative genius in midfield and fantastic striker you obviously believe we have in the 1st game of the season.
8.) 18 Jul 2026 14:57:18
Robbo, you're overlooking that it's a vastly weaker league. Burnley got 100 points, yet went down last season on 21. We'll win it. Comfortably mark my words.
9.) 18 Jul 2026 14:59:27
Fabianski is 41. Traore is done as well. Diassi, I suspect, will return. Wilson is 34. Only Fernandes is a miss.
10.) 18 Jul 2026 15:21:09
They may be done, but still need replacing. It's 2 games a week most weeks in the Championship, so we do need a fairly decent squad. At the moment, we would be relying solely on Taty and Bowen for goals, and they can't play every week in a physically demanding league, that's without midfield where Fernandes has gone and Soucek is injured long term, and we lack creativity there, that's without anyone else that will leave.
I'm not saying we won't sign anyone, but better to be doing it now rather than leaving it too late, where we end up over paying and papering over cracks as we have done in previous seasons.
11.) 18 Jul 2026 16:11:14
Sorry, Robbo, you're talking about the Championship as though it is a hot-bed of creative players in every team except for us. There are hardly any creative players in the Premier League, let alone the Championship. Name me a load of creative players in the Championship? I just typed it into Google AI, and it came out with 4 names. 4 teams have a creative player.
You are right, we don't have a good or deep squad, but it's a lot better than many, and if we can keep Bowen, Mav, Disasi, Tatty, KWP, Kante, Magassa and Diouf, that ain't a bad nucleus of a side.
The problem seems to be, you want the world, and you want it now. We've just been relegated. We aren't in a position to be questioning why top players don't want to come to us.
At least now we are not giving players away and are getting proper market value, and we are not having the board leaking fake stories all the time. They seem more professional, which in my eyes is a good thing. I feel things are moving in the right direction, but slower than many of us want. I think they are moving there.
12.) 18 Jul 2026 19:06:39
I totally understand the frustration around the lack of action, but I think it's important the right players are brought in, and the window doesn't close for 6 weeks. Appreciate the season starts in 4 weeks, but it's 46 games, we don't have to be the complete/finished article in week 1.
As Hammer-D highlighted about Burnley, 100 pts in the Championship and 21 in PL, we got 42 in the PL, and, Fernandes/Summerville aside, we are not likely to be much weaker in terms of squad quality once the inevitable purchases are made.
13.) 19 Jul 2026 23:14:31
Kilman and JWP should be comfortably good enough for the Championship. When both signed, they performed well. 'Maybe' dropping down a league will get their confidence back. Cornet - he's another problem altogether. He is just not good enough or fit enough.
14 Jul 2026 14:58:27
Hmm. So we've (supposedly, maybe) lost out on Adeline for a massive 4m euros to Hamburg, and may also (supposedly, maybe) lose out on Fatawu because of our apparent need to sell before we buy. Besiktas are very interested in him
And therein lies our position.
1.) 14 Jul 2026 18:49:05
Would anyone on here take another punt at Harvey Elliot on loan with an option? I don't think he played enough to trigger the obligation to buy clause.
2.) 14 Jul 2026 20:33:44
I certainly would, Dabber, if he would come to the Championship.
3.) 14 Jul 2026 21:00:30
In a heartbeat, mate, he's a great player.
4.) 15 Jul 2026 07:33:49
Good call, Dabber.
03 Aug 2026 18:22:52
Agreed, Joyful. Meet them at £22.5m.
03 Aug 2026 18:22:16
I'd still rather have him than poisonous Fulkrug.
03 Aug 2026 18:21:21
Waited too long to make moves, whether it was Disasi preference or not.
Deals should have been signed, sealed and delivered weeks ago, buddy.
03 Aug 2026 10:52:55
It's a piss take. They soon had season tickets on sale!!!!
03 Aug 2026 10:52:04
And so we come full circle, buddy. West Ham finally make a move for a player, but don't offer enough, and then along comes another club to steal the player away.
This is all sounding like such a familiar tale of woe.
Leaving business till the end of the window, at which time every other club is doing the same thing. Jeeez, we never learn or change, no matter who is at the helm.
04 Aug 2026 14:24:42
I hope so as well, joyful, but can't see it.
04 Aug 2026 09:18:40
Yeah, and it's a bloody big drum. Wanna try it!!!!
03 Aug 2026 20:31:57
Great shout, Joyful. Perhaps you should head recruitment, buddy.
03 Aug 2026 14:17:43
Absolutely have him. If we are keeping JWP, we can definitely get Sully March.
01 Aug 2026 19:16:26
And, by all accounts, Robbo, we are not finished yet.
Tobido, Alvarez, Fulkrug, Awb, Diouf and Mavro could all be leaving? Then what are we left with?
