Anyone know what's going on with Steve Nickson or anybody for our DofF vacancy?
1.) 19 Jun 2026 21:01:53
We will know next week, if he's not announced by next Friday, he's not coming, but I fancy he will.
2.) 20 Jun 2026 08:32:58
Thanks, Joyful, because until we get one, who is doing the transfer business, and as we've said before, we need to get a move on.
3.) 20 Jun 2026 10:18:30
No one is doing transfer business, that is why nothing has happened. All the talk of us signing this player or selling that player is pure speculation.
4.) 20 Jun 2026 11:27:49
Clock is ticking.
5.) 20 Jun 2026 11:53:14
I think the window has only just opened, and it's difficult buying when we are not certain who is leaving.
We also need to see if all the recent really good mood music coming out of the club is genuine and not the same old empty promises just coming from a different person. I have to say I'm hopeful.
14 Jun 2026 12:19:37
Might be me but things around the club seem to have a different feel to it already?
1.) 14 Jun 2026 13:18:19
Everything seems to be moving in the right direction. That doesn't mean we will be great come the start of the season. But you can rarely properly renovate a house unless you eradicate the rot and decay first.
11 Jun 2026 14:23:58
I hope Joyful can throw a bit more light on this, but judging by all reports, Daniel Krezynski is determined to purchase Sullivan's shares in the club and then have proper footballing directors in place to run the various day to day activities of the club
This sounds too good to be true but exactly what we've all been hoping for.
1.) 11 Jun 2026 16:09:36
I've read he also wants to buy the stadium.
2.) 11 Jun 2026 18:25:52
He's apparently in talks with Vanessa Gold for her shares.
3.) 12 Jun 2026 01:03:07
Our big problem now is if WHU are deemed to be in breach of the conditions of our lease on the London Stadium as a result of restrictions placed on Sullivan's prohibited access to women and minors. If so, the lease could be terminated and the club would be homeless.
4.) 12 Jun 2026 01:16:45
I think these days, imo, he will be forced by other board members to sell to DK, probably within a day, because he is now so toxic to be associated with. We've all known it for years, but there is now more legitimacy to it.
03 Jun 2026 12:24:45
Great article out today "West Ham director of football delay is becoming a problem" and as it says, back in Feb we were told the board were actively looking for a full time head of operations. If memory serves, they said a new director of Football would be appointed at season's end
Relegation came and a lovely letter was posted to the fans about how hard they intend to work to rebuild and restructure the club etc etc pure BS to appease the fans.
Other clubs are signing players and are putting plans in place whilst we still don't have a DofF.
Wolves have been preparing for months, meanwhile, we do nothing except have a holiday.
At this point which is more worrying? The fact our rivals have a big head start on us or that we will revert to letting Sullivan control recruitment?
Sorry state of affairs, as alwsys.
30 May 2026 11:13:42
I think once we finally get our house in order (director of Football in, players finally sold and bought), Wolves will be the team to chase cause they are already doing some sound business and already a long way ahead of us.

09 Jun 2026 08:35:21
So Wolves get Trippier?
A little concerned that all this fuss around Sullivan is distracting us away from the urgent job of rebuilding, starting with DofF.
1.) 09 Jun 2026 14:56:10
And now they've got Raul Jimenez!!!!
2.) 09 Jun 2026 18:09:07
I've spent the last god knows how long complaining about us signing old players and free transfers, Phil, so I'm really not bothered at all about all of these. I doubt they are on small wages, and, in what is a very demanding league physically, signing 2 players that are 34 and 35 is not the way to go for me.
I'm also not overly bothered about what other clubs are doing, it's more about what we do this summer, which I think will take a little bit of sorting out at boardroom level first off.
3.) 10 Jun 2026 19:07:47
Don't know how everyone else is feeling, but only 9 weeks on Saturday, we kick off our new season, and it's eerily quiet. I was hoping to start and see some movement towards recruitment of Director of Football, but this Sullivan situation seems to have thrown a major spanner in the works?
4.) 11 Jun 2026 06:52:21
In all honesty, Phil, with all that has happened, it's hardly surprising that all the other stuff hasn't been organised. We haven't bought anyone, but apart from our loanees I don't think anyone has been sold either.
Maybe with Sulivan gone, we might actually have someone in charge who won't just decimate the squad for a few quid, and maybe not as many players will leave as we expected.
5.) 11 Jun 2026 08:00:23
We have apparently taken up the option on Lamadrid - the Venezuelan winger we had on loan since Jan, and he made 1 first-team appearance and another 4 in U21s. He was training with the 1st team, so it looks like Nuno has seen something in him.
This is the summer for any academy players wanting to break through to take their chance imo.
Players like Mayers, Scarles, Fearon, Potts, Kante, Earthy, Marshall, Casey, Ajala, Golambekis, Herrick.... think if they don't push through this season then when will they ever?
08 Jun 2026 19:00:50
Just getting comfortable, ready to watch Sullivan be publicly named and shamed on Panorama.
Also been looking at players we've been linked with and there is some decent players out there that we would never have entertained had we still been in the Premier League.
Let's crack on and get director of football and see where we go from there.
07 Jun 2026 10:44:28
So now the dust is starting to settle. What now?
1.) 08 Jun 2026 10:32:55
Greetings from Norway. Where I'm with some Norway Hammers,
The good news is (if it's true?) Sullivan's sons are not, and don't want to be involved with West Ham, that, for me, is more important than Sullivan resigning, so there's no continuity.
There's no question that Kretinsky would like someone to come and buy out Sullivan, otherwise he would have to buy him out.
You cannot have someone with large share holdings dictating the situation, and not be personally involved. That just doesn't work. No doubt the next few weeks will tell the story.
2.) 08 Jun 2026 14:42:55
Pure speculation on my part, of course, but I suspect Kretinsky may have quietly played a blinder here by keeping his powder dry and watching and waiting as this season's events unfolded.
We have no way of knowing the actual true value of Sullivan's shares, but they must have been devalued significantly since relegation.
Kretinsky is nothing if not an astute businessman, and although he seems reticent about taking full control of the club, surely there must be an opportunity for him to average down Sullivan's shares?
01 Jun 2026 08:15:40
Do I assume that it's all gone silent that Sullivan has decided to go on holiday for a month, whilst clubs around us are already getting their house in order?
A normal summer transfer window ahead of us then (just when you hope things might change)!!!
1.) 01 Jun 2026 12:38:16
Think that now the decision to keep Nuno has happened, they are trying to get his coaching team locked in - talks ongoing with Paco to stay. Also, pushing to get a director of football in, and that's when we will see some kind of movement, but unfortunately outs will have to happen before incomings.
2.) 01 Jun 2026 16:00:25
Not sure if it's good or bad, but Krezynski seems to be taking more of a lead role now in rebuilding, so things may start moving once Nuno and his backroom and director of football are brought in.
With Sullivan taking a backseat, I'm more hopeful.
27 May 2026 08:07:04
Thomas Frank would be interested in the West Ham job and for me he is perfect. But we won't go for him, we will go for the easy cheap option and it will take weeks to sort this out.
1.) 27 May 2026 09:56:39
WH are under pressure to get the manager situation sorted, pronto.
Offers start arriving for players, who may be sold against a new manager's plans, not a good start.
Joyful.
2.) 27 May 2026 10:22:27
It's sorted. Negative. Nuno is staying. Board bottle it again now, change of direction, dross football for another season.
3.) 27 May 2026 10:49:55
Robbo, the positives are, though:
1) With Nuno comes Paco.
2) It shows intent of trying to keep more of the better players with a team who knows how to play together.
3) He will have an opportunity to get rid of the dead wood and replace them with his choices.
4) The decision has been made quickly and not dragged.
5) Last time he managed in the Championship his team got 99 points.
6) The decision was primarily Kretinsky's which means Sullivan is finally being challenged.
7) Better Nuno than Sullivan getting his choice of Parker, Bilic, Cooper, or Dyche.
4.) 27 May 2026 10:51:27
They have gone on his Championship record alone.
As we all know, past results are not a guide to the future.
In the next week, a lot of bids will be arriving, and, equally, we have to get people in.
This, for me, will be Nuno's acid test. Let's see. Joyful.
5.) 27 May 2026 11:00:52
Dabber, low-block football won't work in the Championship, you need to win games to get promoted, not draw. Paco is now out of contract. Potter got his choices, was a crap manager, and that didn't work out; it, in part, along with Nuno's awful tactics, got us relegated. The better players will go if they were going anyway; none are going to take a massive pay cut to stay and play in the Championship just because negative Nuno is heretic, agents will take care of that.
This was a chance to take a new direction, clear the decks, and actually play entertaining football; after all, it is an entertainment business. I'd rather have stayed in the Championship for a few years if it meant exciting, attractive football. Nuno failed last year; yes, he got 99 points for Wolves, but he also kept them up. He didn't keep us up last year. Kretensky must know about as much as Sullivan. We are a clown club run by clowns.
6.) 27 May 2026 11:18:11
Both Robbo and Dabber, you make very good points. In a strange way, although opposite views, it’s hard to argue with either post; good, solid views.
All I want to add is that we shall see, by the incoming players, the type of football we will be watching soon.
Until then, a judgement call is hard to make, and if we sink in the Championship, it won’t be long till Nuno's gone!
7.) 27 May 2026 12:00:27
I agree, and Robbo, you make some sound points. In the perfect world, being relegated would be the right time to reset and rebuild from top to bottom, but unfortunately our world is run by Sullivan. If it's not Nuno, it will be one of the managers or type mentioned in my post. Until Sullivan goes, nothing will change, and he won't sell his shares until he can get top dollar for them.
That means PL football. Sullivan wants PL football more than attractive football. We've got him for at least another 12 months, unfortunately. I'm just trying to take positivity out of that sobering thought.
8.) 27 May 2026 15:57:59
If it means we can hang on to Taty, Bowen, Soucek if Nuno is the manager, I'd be more positive about this. I hope Nuno has learnt from the tactical errors last season, but I guess it will be defence first. He actually sorted that part out well, I thought. Our defence under Potter & Lopetegui was psychedelic!!!
9.) 27 May 2026 16:11:20
My argument to this is there is absolutely no evidence that Frank plays entertaining football. Ask Tottenham fans. I think he plays similar football to Nuno, Moyes and Potter. But I would be happy to give him a chance, and hopefully he will prove me wrong. I think we could be back to square one in no time with another boring, overly pragmatic manager. It reminds me of when Potter was given the job. Most on here thought he played attractive football, and it was only a few people that voiced their opposition (like Frank, I didn't really know him because I'd never studied Brighton).
It turned out his football was worse than Moyes and Nuno.
Also, Keith Andrews has got Brentford playing far more entertaining football than Frank, and they have done better in the league. Both managers did well at Brentford because of the way the club is run.
We don't have that.
20 Jun 2026 11:27:49
Clock is ticking.
20 Jun 2026 08:32:58
Thanks, Joyful, because until we get one, who is doing the transfer business, and as we've said before, we need to get a move on.
19 Jun 2026 13:40:11
About time we took a stand and stuck to our guns.
The message is simple. Pay up or shut up.
17 Jun 2026 18:00:02
Ill drive him to bremen and kick him.out
17 Jun 2026 11:46:39
Fulkrug playing for us in Championship? No way! Don't believe it for a moment.
He's a bad apple.
11 Jun 2026 18:26:33
More like Andrex or Cushelle.
10 Jun 2026 19:07:47

02 Jun 2026 19:47:30
Absolutely joyful. Although we can't sign them yet, deals in principle can be agreed.
Tabloids report we are weighing up a move for Harrison Burrows (Diouf?). Also, this midfielder from Troyes (Fernandes replacement). Interest again in Stassin (replacement for Bowen?).
Taty may be staying?
02 Jun 2026 08:00:55
Cheers, Joyful. Get busy? This is West Ham, and we never do anything early.
We must surely know by now which players we are selling and which we are not, and we must have an idea of who we are after as director of football, but in true West Ham fashion, no urgency to give Nuno a proper pre-season.
