None to bothered about last night. Good to see we are scoring but we cant defend to save our lives and Herrick is not very good

January we need to sort defence and invest in a quality keeper above all else.

1.) 16 Sep 2026 10:00:48
Whilst hopefully this squad may get promoted, many of them will not be coming with us back to the premier league, the difference in quality is obvious, there's a gulf, which many cannot bridge

Whilst that is mainly defence, there's others that just not good enough at a higher level, it matters not at present, it's a problem maybe for another time.

2.) 16 Sep 2026 17:36:21
Yeah good shout Joyful. The glaring need to sort the keeper and defence situation cant be ignored this summer if we are promoted.

3.) 17 Sep 2026 11:06:31
Some of the comments on Fin Herricks are wrong. The kid has been with West Ham since he was a young lad progressing through the system.

Give the lad some support. Players need experience, young players will make mistakes, experience players will make mistakes.

4.) 17 Sep 2026 13:01:59
No sir, not for me amateur mistakes, are at amateur level, can you imagine him at premier level we would let in 8

If Hermansen gets injured, unless Nuno sorts out Areola, you can forget promotion, that's a big problem.

5.) 17 Sep 2026 13:23:31
Like to explain further many years ago, after playing for then managing a conference league side, we were third in the table and promotion to league 2, was in sight

With five games left our gk got a bad leg injury couldn't play, we had I thought a decent reserve gk, of those five games left I could see us winning three maybe drawing two, that would be enough

My thoughts disappeared down a hole after 10 minutes When two feeble shots ludicrous attempts were let in

After that we played 5 across the back to stop attempts, we drew 2-2

The defence lost confidence completely, we drew 4 and lost one, promotion went out of the window

If Herrick plays in goal we will not get promoted. He's nowhere near championship level at present, maybe he will improve, but not for me sorry.

6.) 17 Sep 2026 15:50:50
Joyful Herrick 1st team Debut.
This lad needs to make mistakes, needs to learn. Playing in this game was spot on from the manager.

Like you have said on many post WH don't have funds.
We need to push the youth and where possible integrate. That's only possible with correct management and game time.

7.) 17 Sep 2026 16:15:18
I will stick with my post, if Herrick plays we will not get promoted I have seen it all before

He's not 10 years old you either have it or not, if he plays in the championship, we will let in lots of goals,

Further Hermansen may not be good enough for premier if we make it, Areola will be gone, his contract expires, a better keeper will be needed

For me a quality keeper is as valuable as a striker, no good banging them in, if your a colander at the other end

Your entitled to your opinion I'll stick to mine, seen Herrick play a few times, not been impressed.

8.) 17 Sep 2026 17:11:01
I've watched him often.
Deserves his call to the 1st team.

I'm not saying he is a starter.

His part of the WH family and we need to get behind our youth players.

9.) 17 Sep 2026 17:15:16
Unfortunately many don't make the grade in the end, as you have witnessed.

10.) 17 Sep 2026 18:41:49
I don't know enough about him to praise or condemn him. The main issue with keeper is they are not allowed the leeway that other positions get. A couple of bad games in a row and he could be finished.

Whereas someone like Pablo can have a multitude of bad games but won't have the same reaction because his mistakes may not cost us the matches, and as has been said before we end up winning many of those.

Joyful, can you please shed any light on last ditch effort to sign Italian left back " Scraepio di Barrelo" lmfao. ? ? ? Only messing buddy lol. ?

Everyone was so optimistic and, as always, West Ham scraping around for last day deals.

Hearing we night be back in for Hatate and maybe Egusso.

Bard from Nice or Amass from Man Utd, Morato the potato.

Joyful may be able to shed some light on the following rumours.

Sudden surge in rumours linking Bowen with £50m move to Palace?

Ethan Pinnock wanted for leadership.
Victor Nailson of Galatasaray.

We want 2 defenders, then will loan Casey to Stevenage.

Want Essugo of Chelsea on loan.
Luke Chambers of Liverpool if Diouf goes.
El Hadj Mbodgi of Slavia Prague being looked at.

Most advanced move Reiss Nelson is agreed with player. Not sure if it’s loan but he is likeliest next signing.

Mac3

1.) 24 Aug 2026 05:32:02
Reiss Nelson! Someone with similar injury record as Fulkrug. Great. As if things couldn't get any worse.
I would like to hope this isn't true, and if it is, I think it will show the head of recruitment is obviously out of his depth and is basically a stooge who has been put in place to placate the fans, but doesn't have any qualifications to do the job.

2.) 24 Aug 2026 09:54:22
I think Joyful is away this week, Mac.

3.) 24 Aug 2026 12:46:01
Bowen is going nowhere. I doubt Pinnock is of interest, and I think you mean Victor Nelsson. You could be right, but I doubt it. He has been playing in Serie B, and the team never took up the option. But who knows what is happening? Certainly not me.

4.) 24 Aug 2026 17:04:00
I literally don't care who we sign and who goes now. Until this fraud of a manager goes, it won't make any difference anyway. Let Bowen go; he's far too good to be hanging around an awful team playing terrible football anyway.

Reiss Nelson, perfect replacement, is terrible with a horrendous injury record. Welcome to the first team, don!

5.) 24 Aug 2026 17:50:56
No, Mac, is right, they are unbelievably still interested in Reiss Nelson.
It's one thing that many of the players we have bought are on the old side, and Solomon has an iffy injury record, but it's not a patch on Nelsons.

6.) 24 Aug 2026 19:03:36
As Joyful would say don't shoot the messenger. Reiss Nelson deal all but done, apparently.

20 Aug 2026 10:22:09
Rumour gathering pace that one or possibly two provisional medicals booked for tomorrow?

Mac3

1.) 20 Aug 2026 11:36:56
Yes, I read that.

Sounds like free agent/s, or loan deal/s.

Vardy would be the most likely, as it's been kept so quiet.

I'm undecided about whether that's a good idea.

2.) 20 Aug 2026 11:50:46
Agreed. At Leicester, he had pace on his side. What, now he doesn't?

3.) 20 Aug 2026 12:13:57
Same here, Markro. I wouldn't say it's a terrible thing, and it may work out as a super sub, but I think with the complete clear out, there would be more of a definite plan for the future, and Vardy obviously isn't.

4.) 20 Aug 2026 13:09:03
The only objective this season is promotion.

If one season temporary measures mean we have to do one season loans and/or Vardy type short term deals, then so be it, I guess.

What to do once promotion is achieved is another problem, but it'd be a nice problem to have.

5.) 20 Aug 2026 13:19:40
Sad thing is, he could have been a Hammer when Big Sam was manager, but Sullivan wouldn't pay £1million to Fleetwood, who were National League at the time. Sort of sums Sullivan up, really, doesn't it?

6.) 20 Aug 2026 14:26:56
Its Divine Mukasa on loan, one of our former academy players that was with us for 10 years but left for City.

So, we sell Earthy a player that wasnt really given an opportunity, and replace him with a loan player that showed us no loyalty. If hes that good, he will end up back at City. Wouldnt be so bad if we had an option.

7.) 20 Aug 2026 14:42:17
Wasn't 1 of ours, Iron.Al? That was Divin Mubama.

8.) 20 Aug 2026 14:58:35
Mukasa was one of ours as well, Ska.

Signed for Man City in 2023.

Must admit there were lots of positives. The fight and never say die attitude was good to see, but we have to resolve the issue with the defence.

Mac3

1.) 16 Sep 2026 12:02:12
For most of the game, Fulham were fielding a "B” side, after making so many changes from the side that drew with Liverpool. No doubt we'll see even more of Pablo, now he's actually discovered the back of the net. The angle was sharp and he took it well. A good goal. However, his contribution apart from that was woeful. I watched his performance and he continually lost the ball or gave it away.

Still useless.
The defence desperately needs tightening up. I'm still shaking my head over Kilman, and Mavropanos was generally excellent, but he did have a few slip ups. There were some promising moves, but I gave up watching after their third goal because I thought the writing was on the wall. Oh well, we have a way to go. Millwall up next. COYI!

11 Sep 2026 22:34:23
I'd Just like to say Wrexham taught us a lesson as promised lmfao. if anybody has a twitter account please let Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney know they are out of their depth.

Let's play them every week please.

Mac3

Apparently Wrexham are going to give us a proper introduction to life in the Championship tonight !!! Should be interesting and i hope our lot are up for it ?

Hammer-D just about summed this up nicely. Just to add that teams who win this league find a way to win fixtures on wet Tuesday nights at teams like Bolton. Not great performance but a win is a win. A lot does have to change if we get promoted.

Last night our full backs were poor. KWP and Scarles need to be replaced and show that they are not even decent backups.

I don't know how Pablo is still lacing up his boots. He is shocking.

It's clear in January that Alvarez, Cornet and Mugassa should go if we don't cancel their contracts beforehand and then we will need to look at full backs.

Mac3

1.) 09 Sep 2026 10:44:15
Hi Mac, I know you aren't keen on those 2 players, and I have to agree they have been troublesome. But, unlike Fulkrug, Cornet, or JWP, they are decent players who are not constantly injured, so I think they could be useful, and, taking last night's game, either would have helped sure up the midfield, and, hopefully, would have prevented many attacks on our goal.

Maybe they don't deserve a chance the way they have acted, but just a thought.

2.) 09 Sep 2026 16:57:48
Oh I agree, but I think the way they've behaved doesn't warrant them being part of this foundation anymore.

They come to our club, where we pay decent salary, so at least perform and give your best, and act like a professional whether you wanna be here or not.

Same goes for Fulkrug, Tobido, Awb etc.

3.) 09 Sep 2026 17:57:24
Yeah, valid point. ?

07 Sep 2026 08:41:01
I'd like to see Nuno be brave tomorrow night and stick with the same lineup and if we are running away with it bring couple off and rest fir Friday.

You really think he would?

Nahhhh, he is too greedy. He will hold on and hope we get promoted and then sell up.

And, of course, that's the plan.

They will make Staveley and any other buyer wait until, if and when, we get promoted.

Good news for them, but not necessarily for the future of the club?

That sums it up nicely. I reckon it is going to take time for these to gel.

Only issue is the two cbs, who can't defend, and Hermandsen, who I'm not convinced should be replaced with Areola.

Problem is that its not VAR, its how its being interpreted

Those overseeing have no clue or consistency and as weve seen, these bad decisions can end up costing clubs millions and premier league status

As Carrick said "its worrying the state of the game if thats how they are officiating the game"

I for one refuse to watch premier league football and find footie more enjoyable in the championship. How many. of our goals on Friday would've been ruled out because a toenail or strand of hair was offside? Its ridiculous.

So many fans are saying the same thing

My lads support Chelsea and Varsenal and they are saying the same. Surely it has to be time to take a step back and either get rid or change the people overseeing.

Let's soak it all in because its been a long time since weve seen games like this when west ham were involved

This will send warning message across the league that we are not here to make up the numbers. If teams come up against us and underperform they will be put to the sword.

Not bad, not bad. Mavropanos worries me as he is so careless but 6-0 and it could easily have been 9-0, cant grumble

The gulf in class is clear and if we dont win this league something is wrong.
