My mate just called the end of season like this -
Chelsea beat Spurs
We beat Newcastle
We are 1 point ahead.

Last game of season, Spurs are beating Everton and we are drawing with Leeds until 92nd minute when Bowen smashes in a winner!!!

Let's hope so. All we can do is win our last 2 games and hope for the best.

One more bit of good news that may have passed by unnoticed, at least Millwall ain't getting promoted. πŸ˜€ They always bottle it at the play-offs. That's not to say we won't be playing them next season.

12 May 2026 14:01:43
We will be. πŸ™ˆ πŸ™ˆ πŸ™ˆ πŸ™ˆ

12 May 2026 15:29:15
ChrisB05, Think your mate read too many Roy of the Rovers comics as a kid. 🀣 He should put a tenner on those results coming good, would see him a few quid to the good. πŸ‘ If only. 🀞
COYI. βš’βš’βš’βš’

12 May 2026 18:17:31
I still think we are gonna win our last 2, Chelmsford. I have got our last 3 results right, but I doubt my run will continue. I think a lot depends on Everton and Chelsea, and if they have anything to play for, and obviously us getting results.

12 May 2026 18:41:13
HammerD, I love your optimism, mate. I really do. πŸ‘ & why not? Anything can happen, it all depends on your opponent's position in the final part of the season. I have resigned myself that we are now down, so nothing can be worse, but my daughters are distraught at the thought of relegation & still think we'll stay up, I don't!
Spurs, imo, have a far better squad but COYI.

I think we missed a huge opportunity at Brentford. Ok, we can look at the entire season, but that one weekend swung the pendulum for Spurs, who were low on confidence, couldn't defend, couldn't score, and had injuries to key players.

They went to Villa and won, and that was the catalyst for them. I think they'll beat Chelsea and Newcastle will beat us.

13 May 2026 16:20:33
Bloody hell, mate. Could you be any more negative? We've played better in the last 2 games than Tottenham have, despite the losses. Plenty of Newcastle fans are hoping they lose on Sunday. Tottenham, alongside Liverpool, have stopped them spending the money.

13 May 2026 18:44:24
Mac, I think most teams seem to have a snobby attitude to teams like Brentford. We seem to look at them through the lens of history. They are a bloody good side and a well run club with a good manager.

We were unlucky the first half, but got battered the second half, and I think overall it was a fair result and a fair reflection of our relative positions.

14 May 2026 09:35:26
I was speaking to a Spurs fan yesterday who said he thinks they are in the poop. He thinks we'll win both our games and they'll struggle to get a point from both of theirs. We have to remain optimistic until it's mathematically done, Mac...

11 May 2026 22:12:31
Spurs drawing. We are still in it, fellas. Chelsea won't want to do them any favours. Another massive weekend coming up.

Watch the last two presentations by Nick Killington on Claret & Booze -
"The FA Stinks of Corruption : Live Match Reaction"
and
"Meet Nuno and Sullivan : The Architects of Our Downfall".
He says what I and one or two others have been saying for months. There's not a lot we can disagree with.

11 May 2026 22:56:51
I've been pretty vocal all season, Tin, on Nuno. I can't disagree with a lot of points Nick makes, to be honest.

12 May 2026 09:33:49
Tinlegs, welcome back, by the way, but come on guys, don't come on here making out you're a pair of oracles or mystics who predicted all of this and "I told you so"... We all know it's Sullivan's fault, there's no mystery there, and although I'm not a massive Nuno fan, I certainly don't put him in the same bracket as Sullivan, Brady and Potter, with Steindten prior to that, to be thrown into the mix.

Tin Legs, you kept banging on about wanting Thomas Frank, and that didn't turn out well for Spurs, did it.

12 May 2026 09:59:17
Dabber,
If there's one thing we are not, it's ITK. The reason for pointing out Nick is repeating what we've been saying is simply illustrating that we are not the only ones who place a great deal of blame at Nuno's feet. And, if you read previous posts, we've often opined that the fault of our woes lies with the whole board, in particular BSG and, lately, K. We know Sullivan had a controlling share, but the rest of the board also have a voice.

Currently, Nuno could have saved us, but his team selections, tactics and in-game management let us down. I hope he goes.
As for Frank - you ignore I said he was IMO a bad fit for Spurs, and I didn't think he would do well there. I still think he could be a success at WHU, but that is just an opinion.

12 May 2026 12:13:17
Appreciate the considered response TL. There have been times when Nuno's tactics have absolutely baffled and p**s*d me off in equal measures. The Chelsea game being the most obvious example, but in balance I also appreciate positive decisions he's made, JWP/Kilman dropped from the squad, the improvement to the defence and upturn in form, and above all the shower of s*** situation he inherited by the incompetent Potter. I actually don't want him to go because, in my opinion, he is our best shot at coming straight back up if the worst comes to the worst.

He knows how to manage in the Championship, and if there is the slightest chance of a Manager convincing some of the higher level players to stay and help us get back up, then, imo, and it's just an opinion, Nuno is that person. We have 2 games to go and we still have a fighting chance, and I just don't think this is the time for Nick or anyone else to say "I told you so".

12 May 2026 14:09:53
Dabber, it's more than that. Under Nuno we have lost 21 points from winning positions this season. If we do go down we will be in 17th place. When Nuno took over we were 17th, so in terms of league position (the most important thing at this moment in time), he hasn't improved us at all, so therefore has to go.

Oh, and add to that the incompetent Potter only out-tacticed one manager in his tenure here.

12 May 2026 15:48:34
Ok, given that we're not down yet, if we make the great escape and stay up, would you sack Nuno? I'm guessing your answer is going to be yes. In that scenario, then who would be your realistic choice as next manager?

12 May 2026 16:34:18
Marco Silva is available in summer, so id do everything I could to get him.

12 May 2026 17:56:56
Well said, Robbo. Couldn't agree more.

12 May 2026 18:04:13
It's a good shout. Agreed.
What if we're relegated?

12 May 2026 18:26:15
Wouldn't be a bad idea to give Paco a go, id think, like Hammer D suggested, or not sure if they would be able to get him, but the guy at Southampton could be an option if they don't get promoted.

One thing's for sure, there will be a lot of angry supporters if we get relegated, so if they want to get people back on side they need to play decent football again.

12 May 2026 20:49:58
I think Paco is a very good shout.

13 May 2026 13:23:01
Because many of my close family are German, I tend to follow the Bundesliga closely. It wouldn't harm us if we appointed one of the young up-and-coming German league managers, with an eye on the future. I'm fed up with us just planning for what's right in front of us.

It's time we planned to build from the foundations, and the start is appointing a young coach who delivers positive football. Some names to consider are:
Ole Werner
Merlin Polzin
Sebastian Hoenness
Julian Schuster.
Just some suggestions.

13 May 2026 16:13:45
Cheers TL, will check them out. It's another good shout. Too much dead wood, like Dyche, floating around, new talent would freshen things up.

13 May 2026 18:28:06
Hoenes looks like a good shout with above 50% win rate in 150 games. Schuster and Werner also look pretty good. Looking at his stats, I'd say Polzin is the weakest option but also the youngest. Thanks for sharing the info. πŸ‘πŸΌ

13 May 2026 18:56:02
All these choices mentioned seem interesting and positive the main issue is though unless we can get shot of the poisoned dwarf at the top, I can not see these sort of more interesting or positive choices being entertained because he can only see to the end of his nose.

Maybe Marco Silva or Paco would be considered as he will have heard of them. Some of the best managers in the prem have been previously unheard of the Bournemouth, Brentford and Brighton managers, also Arsen Wenger

14 May 2026 13:55:34
Up or down, we need a revamped board and a different head coach with a director of football. Anything less just restarts the same old merry-go-round. I'm sick of it.

11 May 2026 22:08:20
Great result. Leeds shame they didn’t get the win, but that’s decent.

11 May 2026 22:28:17
Gave me hope again when, after I checked and it was Spurs winning 1-0, I had settled my mind that we were down. Twists and turns, and hopefully more to come, with us ending on top!

12 May 2026 05:57:56
I have been saying for the last month that I think we will win our last 2, so just hope I'm right. πŸ™ Really glad Leeds didn't just roll over like Villa did. I'm sure they won't against us either.

So Lincoln it is next season. I just hope Sullivan sells up and we get the manager situation sorted as soon as possible.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2026 12:40:46
Yup, looks that way. 14 points from 21 games really did the trick. Potter and Brady did the real damage months ago.

Sullivan's antics, lack of goal power, not being able to defend leads, like at Chelsea, have all contributed to where we are today.

Big Arsenal fans admitting they got away with murder yesterday just adds insult to injury.

With West Ham financial woes, what kind of team are we going to field next season? Parachute payments or not.

The only thing that can be said with clarity is the team will look very different to this one, a lot more games, many, many more midweek games.

We came back after 2003. Maybe we will again. Joyful.

11 May 2026 15:21:06
I don't think we came straight back in 2003. I think we lost the play off final first year. We came straight back up in 2010 with BFS. If we end up with a manager like that, I think I will start supporting Colchester United or Orient.
We do have a lot of reasonable youth players, hopefully Pots, Magassa and Kante will stay.

I'm not sure if Pablo is good enough for the Championship. I'm not having a dig at him because of the disallowed goal yesterday, as that wasn't his fault, but we were watching him, and when players crossed the ball in his direction, he doesn't look at the ball.

11 May 2026 16:50:31
It was the following year, 4/5, but on a different note I just bumped into Lenny Brown, the very well known Arsenal big time supporter.

He's a nice, honest guy, and in his opinion, the referee was under extreme pressure and made the wrong call.

It's a goal all day long, he said.

He went on to say the other way round, Arsenal would have had the goal given.

There's honesty, we can't change it. That's a bad way to end a bad season. Joyful.

11 May 2026 00:00:49
Darren England has history of poor VAR decision. 3 seasons ago he was involved in decision denying goal for Liverpool which PGMOK had to apologise for. Guess who went onto win that game - Spurs. The level of officiating today was absolutely awful. In fact the first hole season has been bad.
