Depends on how fit and mobile he is. We are not in a position to let sentiment play a role. Unfortunately I think his time being seen in a hammers shirt has pasts
1.) 13 Feb 2026 18:16:22
I take it you are discussing Antonio, the player himself, closed the door, on his WH career, totally against the advise from his agent and family
WH were generous in their offer of £40 k a week, for one year, and then review the situation
Done in the knowledge, that he might never recover, his former abilities, and in the knowledge, that during that year, he may not make it back to first team duties, and so it proved
Also please bear in mind, that prior to his unfortunate accident, he had completely tailed off
To everybody’s astonishment, Antonio refused the WH offer, which was a bad choice, he wanted reinstatement at 85k a week for two year contract
Never going to happen, since then, Antonio has trained with a few clubs, Leicester, Gillingham, Colchester, maybe more, now with Charlton
Yes he was a cult hero, but remember he walked out on WH
WH did not walk out on him
2.) 13 Feb 2026 19:48:02
Yes my reply is to a post on the banter page!
3.) 16 Feb 2026 00:30:04
He was finished before he did his Donald Campbell impersonation. Sad, but true.
4.) 16 Feb 2026 06:18:54
IMO Antonio was a fantastic servant to this club, but he had already gone way past his best before he had his car accident. He showed great determination to recover from his injuries, but it would be a miracle if his previous level of fitness and skill had returned.
I don’t know what details were in the club’s offer, but it was obviously magnanimous of the club to make him any offer. He decided he could do better elsewhere, which is his personal choice. It remains to be seen if that was a good decision. However, everyone wishes him well.
5.) 16 Feb 2026 23:26:23
Poor taste, Tin mentioning Donald Campbell and Antonio.
6.) 17 Feb 2026 07:46:31
Brooking, people tend to overlook the fact that the damage on Antonio’s car was allegedly consistent with an impact speed of 60-70+ mph. The speed limit was 40mph at that location and he was alone in the car, with no other road users apparently involved. The driving conditions were described as poor. Antonio said his speed was about 30-35mph.
I believe he was involved in another serious RTA in 2019, but I might be mistaken. Campbell remains the only man to have broken both land and water speed records in the same year. Sadly, he was killed on Coniston Water, I think in 1968. Thankfully, Antonio was lucky to escape with his life and nobody else was injured.
7.) 17 Feb 2026 09:32:56
Have to take Tins side here ( not the Campbell comment) but we all love Antonio and obviously don’t want to see him hurt himself. But I I get sick and tired of footballers driving their high powered cars way too fast and often in normal side streets. He crashed his previous car into a front garden in South Woodford some time previously. He completely totalled these people’s front gardens obviously speeding.
What if a kid had been there and got killed. That day he crashed the weather was absolutely horrendous and he must have been doing some speed to have the accident he had. I know i'm probably sounding like a killjoy or prude but use your high powered cars where it’s okay to do so. Sadly I feel the same way about Gakpo it’s a shame he died but you live by the sword……….
8.) 17 Feb 2026 10:43:40
Apologies I didn’t mean Gakpo I realized as soon as I’d sent it.
9.) 17 Feb 2026 10:49:05
I think you mean Jota.
10.) 17 Feb 2026 15:22:39
Yup ?
22 Jul 2025 21:35:53
I have been sat here for the last two months reading all the posts. What I cannot get my head around is that we get 62000 plus each home game so where is all the money going?
Other clubs with smaller crowds seem to be able to buy all and sundry in the transfer window. We cannot buy players who are going to warm the treatment table all year false economy we need to buy young hungry players wanting to improve.
1.) 22 Jul 2025 22:52:08
And we don’t even have a stadium and all the security that comes with that to pay for. So yeah where is all the money going?
2.) 23 Jul 2025 06:38:51
I believe we have a board that milks the club and, unlike other similar owners, it does not give money to the club, but it loans money to the club at an interest rate which only benefits the board. In other words, the club is a cash register for the board.
3.) 23 Jul 2025 14:52:14
I believe the financial clout of STHs is overestimated. Say 60000 capacity at a generous 80% sold at an average (pure guess for easy math) of £750 is £36M annually— barely a player these days.
Now corporate hospitality and ad-hoc ticket sales obviously increase this along with the store revenue and tv income. But I imagine wages are the largest expense eg paying Danny Ings et al for nothing.
Not saying the board and shareholders may not put themselves first but given the increase in wages and player purchase costs the proportion that ticket sales generate probably have been markedly reduced.
08 May 2025 20:10:22
Please tell me we are not looking at signing Timo Werner he is not good enough for the premier league failed at both clubs he has played for so far. Hopefully more poor journalism.
1.) 09 May 2025 09:52:12
Werner being offered all over, Leipzig don’t want him back for last year of his contract, WH are in need of many players, taking Timo Werner would be an act of desperation, hope we havnt reached Rock bottom yet, taking him will tell you we have
20 Apr 2025 09:52:24
Yesterday was the worst performance I have ever seen by a West Ham team and I have seen many bad games over the years.
I don’t care who is the manager at present they would all struggle to get a tune out of this lot. Whoever was involved with recruitment last summer should hang their heads in shame.
Yesterday as normal our back four had the most touches during the game enough said.
We didn’t press, create chances and some of the substitutions were mind boggling.
The hardest thing in the summer is moving some of these players on, anyone on loan should be sent back to their parent club not good enough at this level.
PS let’s cut out the snipping at each other thought we all supported the same team!
1.) 20 Apr 2025 10:34:18
Totally agree with final sentence, it’s impossible for everybody to agree on all comments, but we are all supporters, we may come from different areas, different walks of life, and have different aspirations, but we are bound together by the club we support, WH are a sleeping giant, it is estimated, that in the Uk alone we have 200, 000 fans, that is as many if not more than any other London club, so we will come again, maybe, not now, but fortune, will not always be hiding, keep cool, we will come again,
2.) 20 Apr 2025 12:00:04
Corby and Joyful, your last 2 posts are by far the most sensible things anybody has said on here for a long time ….well said ????
3.) 20 Apr 2025 12:34:49
BRAVO you guys. Let's stop the panic mode
06 Oct 2024 09:40:37
Having been at the game yesterday we need to have a good look at getting the Ipswich left back David in January. He looked a good solid player
{Ed002's Note - MOTD Fever strikes.}
1.) 08 Oct 2024 18:53:59
WH were in talks with Ipswich last June, when Cresswell, was let go as a free, problem being, there just was insufficient funds, to buy every position needed, so choices had to be made Leif Davis transfer possibility was cut short, and Cresswell was given another year at his original wage to save a transfer fee for the Lb position, it will be a different story, when Cresswell leaves next June, and it would not come as a suprise, if WH return for this player

Never turned up today.
1.) 23 Mar 2026 18:11:47
It happens too often. No consistency. Just look what happened at Wolves, and, if anything, it's the lack of consistency that will send us down.
A good opportunity to pick up points at Villa squandered.
On the plus side, if Spurs continue to play like that, I can't see how they will get any further points this season.
2.) 24 Mar 2026 00:35:36
Tbh had the Villa game down as a loss. We need 10 points from the next 4, ideally. Wolves, Palace, Everton, and Brentford. All beatable. Arsenal hopefully have won the league before we play them, and still be in the Champions League, so they may rest players against us.
Still all to play for.
3.) 24 Mar 2026 09:07:53
I think Sunday's game is best forgotten. That's not to say that it wasn't a worrying performance. As long as it is not backed up against Wolves, who are a team we have already lost twice to, and were in dire form. But I think we should win that one, and hopefully quite well.
I love your optimism, Chris, but I can't see us getting 10 points out of those 4. I would be very happy to be wrong, but I would think 6, 7 or 8. I think 39 points would mean safety.
4.) 24 Mar 2026 09:54:07
Sadly, it's not just our results. We are relying on Spurs and Forest doing badly. Spurs are the ones who could save us because they are in freefall, and we can only hope it continues, but all we can do is approach every game now as a cup final and do our best to win.
5.) 24 Mar 2026 13:10:36
If we get relegated it will be because of what has already happened, going into a season with a completely poor, disjointed squad, Nuno's baffling team selections early on, and then bottling it in games we could have won.
As Tin says, we are now relying on other teams losing. I like everyone's confidence for the Wolves game, but they are 2 from 2 against us this year and will have a real go at it. I can see us only getting a point if that.
22 Feb 2026 08:31:12
At the game yesterday and we just didn’t look like we were ever going to score. A big two points dropped. We really need to be winning games as they are slowly run out. I thought the atmosphere was good yesterday. Fingers tossed COYI.
14 Dec 2025 19:09:22
That is the best we have played all season but beaten by a better team. Without sounding like a broken record we, as we saw today are crying out for a forward with pace. Nuno needs to just close the gap between the forwards, midfield and defence as villa at times just passed through us constantly.
30 Nov 2025 14:59:28
Very very poor today. No fight and nothing going forward. Paqueta needs to hang his head in shame, he was poor today as well.
24 Oct 2025 22:20:21
Well can someone find out why he picked that team? Kidman and todibo are shocking. Irving and soucek are so slow on the ball and running. Paquata is never a forward. No leader in the team giving out bollockings to so many poor passes. An absolute shambles of a premiership team but this is four years in the making, poor recruitment and poor management employed.
13 Feb 2026 19:48:02
Yes my reply is to a post on the banter page!
12 May 2025 07:56:20
Joyful you can only play what is put in front of you. Enjoy the win and performance. I totally agree Cresswell should be given a one year contract. Away fans were brilliant yesterday.
15 Jun 2019 14:04:19
Yes but only to make up the numbers never going to win it
Would be a great signing for us fingers cross that London and our salary can persuade him.
09 Feb 2019 14:56:15
Syd can’t disagree with you that Billy played like us supporters wanted to see. Over the years it is difficult to say who was the best. Sir trev for me was excellent, Jonny sissons was a personal favourite growing up. But so glad that BB is getting this honour. I think all us hammers will have a personal favourite but all will agree long over due this accolade for Bonzo.
28 Jan 2019 08:15:00
What did we need to listen too last night IRONMIKE?
28 Feb 2026 11:40:11
Safe trip and fingers crossed today COYI.
27 Jan 2026 10:23:22
Good shout that!
23 Aug 2025 18:43:41
Heat we were poor all last season and finished 14th in the league. What we haven’t done yet is strengthen our weak areas on the pitch, do we really think sending out nearly the same squad this time around is going to improve our performances? We are lacking in goals midfield and defence as we can all see. Todibo a poor signing to name one for me never prem quality. We are in for another long hard season as things stand.COYI
23 Aug 2025 17:19:08
Chris B05 I have done much the same and not renewed my membership this season as before I leave the house it has cost me £200 for myself and my daughter. The last game I attended was the Southampton game last season and we were shocking. Trouble is I know I will give in and be back down soon.COYI
19 Aug 2025 13:28:41
Joyfull not sure either team was better than us last night. Everton didn’t even have a shot at goal and Leeds lacked any quality. If and a big if we can get some legs in midfield we will not go down as there will be 3 worse teams than us. I predict Brentford, Leeds and Burnley will go down with Sunderland fourth bottom, interesting to see what happens next may. Keep your post coming mate. COYI
