Benrahma and Cornet out perhaps today and loan for Broja? Get the feeling we have to shift a couple before we bring anyone in. Broja might let Ings go to Celtic. Huge domino-based window I think

Palace have agreed terms over potential Maxwel Cornet loan but move still hinges on West Ham being able to sign a replacement.which is doubtful. Whispers of ismaila sarr on loan

2.) 01 Feb 2024 18:38:10
The left-side was supposed to be where we need strengthened and we are letting both Benrahma and Fornals go. Let's hope this mystery loan deal doesn't fall through, also gives moyes an excuse to keep pushing paqueta out on the left and keep soucek nd jwp centrally.

3.) 26 Mar 2024 01:08:13
Young Clarke of Sunderland is a promising left winger we could possibly get.

27 Aug 2023 19:23:57
That’s Kudus in. Thank you WHUFC.

Kib

1.) 27 Aug 2023 19:31:34
Fabulous signing.

2.) 27 Aug 2023 22:05:25
Yes i agree perhaps we could play a little football instead of letting our opponents have 80% of the ball and our 20%, yes it worked but whatever happened to the WH way where we crossed the half way line similar to our opponents. The quality of players we now have deserve to play attacking football its like Big SAM has returned. i do admit it was a great result but is this how we want our team to play because I DONT

3.) 28 Aug 2023 00:50:17
This early in the season I’m well happy with 7 points you can’t buy confidence we have seen the seasons where has gone wrong and players have struggled we ain’t going to play like that every game because every team is set up differently just enjoy the wins

4.) 29 Aug 2023 10:43:54
Kudos to that signing, hallelujah to our start outta the traps too.

5.) 07 Sep 2023 01:17:34
Yes dizzy heights indeed, enjoy all. Who's up next team wise?

6.) 06 Nov 2023 11:26:20
Enjoying our forward line recently

21 Aug 2022 22:58:53
Disappointed with the starting lineup. How many times does Moyes have to lose to Brighton to change it up. I'd rather he played the mid-week team again to throw an unknown in there.

That said 38 SoG and no return shows there's potential but we need points. If we had beaten NF we would have been okay-ish after 3 games.

Looks like we've been figured out. Allow the counter attack to go wide and flood the box with defenders instead.

Hoping we have a 2021-22 Arsenal season now :)

Kib

1.) 22 Aug 2022 06:30:41
We don't have an odergaard to run the midfield. Rice has gone awol, soucek is still on holiday leaving nothing. This team is crying out for fofana but I see we are linked with more cbs

2.) 22 Aug 2022 08:20:48
Moyes has got to sort out his starting back 4 and try and stick with it whilst players heal and get fit. Cresswell is past it and currently so is Coufal. Our transfers take far to long. WHY? We need a damn LEFT BACK and we need it now, noiw in a weeks time. Put EMERSON on the left, Johnson on the right and Ogbonna and another in the centre. Drop or Sell SOUCEK, put Vanaken and Rice in front of the back 4, with Traore on the right, Cornet on the left, Seko Fofana in the middle behind Scamacca. That has pace, power and goals all over the place and goals win games. In fact I really like that starting 11 LMAO

3.) 22 Aug 2022 11:35:48
You have pretty much hit the nail on the head here. The problem we (and Moyes) have is the fact that we don't have the players capable of effectively playing in a 4-2-3-1.

As soon as the opposition FBs push up high, our wingers are effectively pinned in our own half leaving us as a 4-5-1 with an isolated striker, then what happens is if our wingers don't track back or the FB's get caught up the pitch, we end up getting overloaded in MF/DF.

Until we get full backs who can bomb up and down the wings, wingers who track back properly, a #10 who can move the ball quickly and the "double pivot" of CMs and CB's actually getting the ball to our own players, Moyes default setting is going to get carved up every single game.

4.) 22 Aug 2022 14:26:46
Benrahma deserves a place in the starting line-up.

5.) 22 Aug 2022 15:17:09
I've got to say that as soon as I saw the starting XI, I knew we'd struggle. Fornals, Antonio and Soucek should never have started. They have been passengers so far and Moyes seems to be devoid of ideas. His answer to liven up the midfield - bring on Lanzini! The manager is getting some things right, but his tactical abilities leave a lot to be desired. Another lacklustre performance completely devoid of ideas. If things don't change soon, we'll be back to Pellegrini days, looking over our shoulders. At the moment there's nothing to see because nobody is behind us!

Ballot for Europa cup final tickets is open. Closes 28th April with draw 6 May so we’ll know whether to accept tickets if you are lucky enough to get some

1.) 23 Apr 2022 18:18:34
The way rashford is going he will end up like DELE ALI fading into a bit part player what a shame and waste of talent he HAS to move from UTD this seasons next window I can't stop dreaming of a 3 man midfield RICE,SOUCEK,BELLINGHAM now before people slaughter me I know he's more than we could dream of I rate him very very highly him and FODEN must start more games for ENGLAND at the world cup.

2.) 24 Apr 2022 11:50:28
Bellingham is top quality already and has plenty of development ahead of him.

Take him in a heartbeat.

3.) 24 Apr 2022 21:35:19
Sure we don't really know all Ten Haag's plans yet. And whom is still featured in them. He needs some rabbits in his hat to reveal in the summer.

4.) 29 Apr 2022 11:52:17
I do not actually care about Man Utd other than to finish higher than them; which is of course then a Hammers' issue

5.) 30 Apr 2022 19:50:57
Hehehe I found link to hammers in that am sure Boleyn' s named ultimately from a region of France hence can mention their elections i'm Passim then.

6.) 03 May 2022 10:21:25
Rubberton, yes and we should pick up Juan Mata on a free IMHO.

7.) 03 May 2022 10:32:06
Huguenot? I think Hainault near West Ham is similar

14 Apr 2022 10:55:32
So we phaff around with Dawson Nunez in January and fail (again) to complete deal at last minute and now Liverpool ManUtd et al are interested at twice the price…
I know I don’t see the deals / terms / everything that goes on in a transfer but didn’t we just run out of time with the Nunez one with Benfica?

Kib

1.) 14 Apr 2022 11:13:56
Nunez never waned to join us so irrelevant really.

2.) 14 Apr 2022 12:18:45
Oh I thought it was an almost deal we screwed up.

3.) 15 Apr 2022 00:01:46
All different stories going around about Benfica knocking back the bid, agents not agreeing terms etc. if he wanted to come he would have made it clear to his club and agent. I see he has sacked his agent so wants out of Benfica but would be shocked if he came to us. Shocked but happy as he does look good.

4.) 15 Apr 2022 09:54:40
Haha! Dawson Nunez scored for us from a corner last night.

5.) 15 Apr 2022 12:35:31
Dawsoniho

6.) 16 Apr 2022 12:26:27
hehehe - Craig!

7.) 16 Apr 2022 12:59:02
BTW apropos of very little - my nickname for him Dogsears' Dawson comes form a 1970s cult tv show about some mad UK scientists. "Bright's Boffins". Hilarious.

8.) 21 Apr 2022 08:33:55
So, it seems we have a bit of a CB crisis with DAWSON the only fit CB that we have and probably the next 4 games being the most crucial of the season. What about bringing young BAPTISTE through? Can we get a defender on loan if he is free agent?
Play Rice at CB or rush OGBONNA back. THoughts anybody?

9.) 21 Apr 2022 12:57:56
Ogbonna will not be fit - otherwise your other suggestions may well be viable runners in the circumstances ; Chelski up in 3 days now.

10.) 26 Apr 2022 15:47:50
P.S. Our central defenders are apparently mending much quicker than supposed; at least with regard to Zouma and Diop. (the latter may be targeted by Ten Haag, but not until summer when hopefully we can do some business for replacements this time). Not much being touted - Phillips of Leeds is at least defensive minded.

11.) 06 May 2022 15:57:21
Cressy's brain still taking a raincheck though. He sorta plays CB sometimes so sorta relevant. I guess.

Liverpool and Sheffield did us favours today. We're flattered in 7th until those with GiH use them up. The Chelsea game will be a 6 pointer. Reckon we need Fulham, Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Luton wins for 7th

Kib

1.) 08 Apr 2024 07:25:14
Flattered by 7th . Nope if we had a better manager and had more breaks with VAR I've no doubt we'd be challenging for 4th . Amazing isn't it one decision goes our way on Saturday. And the media are in uproar forgetting how unlucky we've been recently with them .

2.) 08 Apr 2024 16:15:12
We should be 4th wow! and there’s me thinking I sometimes wear rose coloured spectacles. Yours must be platinum!

3.) 08 Apr 2024 17:51:47
Has anybody else noticed the lack of traditional media coverage of West Ham both Sky and more particularly. Football Focus on BBC1 Have not had a West Ham feature of any note for the last 2 seasons despite winning a European Trophy MOTD seems to have an anti West Ham bias.

In our last 2 matches they did not discus at all the Philips/Gordon penalty situation at all but went on at length this week about the Wolves disallowed goal. In the Sky Saturday afternoon build up. Programme West Ham are never discussed at length and generally ignored on the Sunday Match day programme despite playing the majority of their games on a Sunday.

Does anyone else think the same or have an onput

4.) 08 Apr 2024 18:19:33
With respect merc I don’t think you are right in relation to football focus as even though they haven’t featured the whole team but have had articles about West Ham players. They had one about Zouma on Saturday and I’m sure there were some last season

I do agree they sidestepped the Phillips pen and a lot just rubbish our fans opinions of DM virtually without exception I did actually see someone agree with the fan’s criticism recently but can’t remember who it was

5.) 08 Apr 2024 19:17:45
I think 6th and 7th will be ourselves and Man Utd, in which order I have no idea. Our last game is Man City away, so we need all our points by then. Man Utd are away to Brighton for their last game.

6.) 09 Apr 2024 10:19:51
Mercerl, yes noticed that a long time ago, I suspect the future PM Lineker is the culprit personally, think he runs BBC? ⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒

7.) 09 Apr 2024 12:43:17
Hammer D thanks for yours and Chelmsford comments I must admit I record and fast forward through Football Focus because I find a lot of it absolute dross. Must have missed the Zouma segment. I think the pundit you are talking about re the fans/Moyes situation was Danny Murphy on Talksport

8.) 09 Apr 2024 18:22:28
Nice one Merc, DM yep that’s the one ?

3.) 21 Mar 2024 14:38:30
Or VAR going our way for a change perhaps. Let's not forget that element of luck at times either way. Good or bad.

21 Jan 2024 11:26:56
Need a win today to consolidate 6th with our game in hand over Tottenham and Man Utd. Pretenders otherwise if we cannot put away the basement team.

Kib

1.) 21 Jan 2024 13:46:19
Worried about this game today.

If we can get enough set pieces in good positions then we've a punchers chance of coming away with the 3pts. If we don't, then I'm worried it'll be another Fulham-esque performance. Glass half full Heart says 0-2, glass half empty head says 3-0.

To be honest I wouldn't be too saddened at all if Storm Isha intervenes and the game gets postponed.

Until about the middle of March.

2.) 21 Jan 2024 15:07:18
Ben Brereton diaz scores, typical, considering how many windows we've been looking at him

3.) 21 Jan 2024 15:45:24
Not the greatest performance today (where have we heard that before) but its the result that counts. Just a shame Sheff UTD had no cutting edge

While I was furious with the lineup for the Carabao Cup and I hate it when we are camped in our own box. The games against Man Utd and Arsenal were good team efforts and felt a bit more positive. Beat Brighton on Tuesday and perhaps were the real deal.

Have been on the fence for a while about Moyes but 2023 has been a successful year for WHUFC so I think Moyes can stay. 6/7 years ago we had maybe 8/11 of a team (remember Roberto) . Now we have about 14/11. The change started with Zouma. Clear some journeymen by summer.

Buy 2 or 3 more class players and play the kids a bit more from the bench (hard for Moyes) but the team are united and with a couple more Tim purchase we build good depth. We need this now as Europe should happen more often.

Saudi money for Aguerd would be good and we need Ings’s wages off the books. I’d keep Benrahma for now but put JWP on pens. Cresswell, Fornals, Ings, Johnson and Aguerd in January and perhaps Antonio /Kehrer in the Summer.

Happy new year to you and yours ??⚒️

An out of form Ekitete has to be of more use than a supposedly in form Ings though — especially releasing his wages. Should be all over this as a Kudus stopgap.

Which is why I said we were flattered in 7th until games in hand had been played. Too many critical games lost /drawn to claim 6th or 7th. Only way Moyes can stay surely is a ECL win which rests on a miracle 3 goal reversal on Thursday (I’m attending from Northern Ireland) . Miracle 1…… COYI

Gordon on both occasions never made an attempt to play the ball. He placed his foot to initiate contact facing away from goal. Both penalty decisions a disgrace. A player’s perspective in VAR needed. They are being duped by contact in the box.

We play a good attacking line up against Freiburg and Villa and then Moyes shoots himself in foot by:
Not taking Alvarez off to avoid 10th yellow, takes of Paqueta for Johnson a right back he plays at LM. Could have put Aguerd at LB and pushed Emerson up to LM.

It’s now or never for Phillips as he replaces Alvarez for 3 games.

I was pleased with the recent lineups but tactical astuteness and subs are not DMs strongpoint

Spanish press via Hammers News

Tuchel had already been linked with Barcelona when speculation was rife over his future at Bayern. It follows Xavi’s announcement that he will leave the Camp Nou this summer.

Now Football Espana reports that Barcelona have shelved any plans to appoint Hansi Flick following Bayern’s Tuchel announcement.

And he is now being widely tipped to take over at Barcelona, putting paid to any West Ham hopes.
