Mate just texted and said Loopy resigned, any truth? ⚒⚒⚒⚒

What’s your mate's name? Moyes?

Bowen signed new contract for £6.5m PA, great it ties him to the club until in his 30's with no buy out clause? Apparently loves it at the club, well done Sullivan?⚒⚒⚒⚒COYI

Agree with you Chelmsford. Club is moving in a positive motion because everything is stable.

2.) 29 Oct 2023 15:10:36
Let's be honest, Bowen signing that contract only really guarantees the club a stronger bargaining position should someone come sniffing around in the next few transfer windows.

Seems as if this is becoming a Political talk site? Would it not be better to keep it to the site it's intended to be used for, we all see so much information on the TV and must confess I tend to overdose on the News and current updates.
Tough game today against Villa, they have so many capable of scoring, will get commentary on Radio hopefully, we really need to get 3 points to remain in contention for a top 6 slot which I think realistically is the best we can hope for?⚒⚒⚒

Chelmsford1944

{Ed002's Note - {Ed002's Note - I completely agree. There are huge amounts of misinformation being posted Chelmsford. As you say, a tough game against Aston Villa today. And to try and prompt some discussion on transfers and the needs the club have in the summer, we can start by looking at the GKs where there are issues:
GKs who might depart before next season or have been of interest to other sides:
Alphonse Areola (G) WHU Have an option to buy but the player may resist citing lack of opportunities and may look for a high-profile club. West Ham would like to keep him – will need persuading.
Lukasz Fabianski (G) Out of Contract in the summer and available as a Free Agent. West Ham could look to an additional year to ease a serious GK problem.
David Martin (G) Out of Contract in the summer and available as a Free Agent.

GKs where some level of interest has been shown:
Alphonse Areola (G) WHU Have an option to buy but the player may resist citing lack of opportunities and may look for a high-profile club. West Ham would like to keep him – will need persuading. Unlikely.
Bartlomiej Dragowski (S) Has asked to leave Fiorentina for more game time. Looked at by WHU as an option if Areola does not sign.
Gaëtan Coucke (G) Genk sold Coucke to Mechelen in 2020 as he was letting in a couple of goals per game - and he is still letting a lot in. His agent has said Ipswich Town and West Ham have asked after him - it is unclear why as it seems he is nothing like good enough.
Emiliano Martinez (G) Aston Villa will resist a sale but Spurs see Martinez as a potential longer-term Lloris replacement and West Ham see him as a Fabianski replacement. Manchester United want to avoid signing a new goalkeeper but could be forced to look to him. If WHU were to make an offer the player would likely look to the role of Areola before deciding. Unlikely as the cost will be significant.
Sam Johnstone (G) Spurs, West Ham and Southampton may look to offers to the player who is out of contract in the summer. Possible.

1.) 13 Mar 2022 13:56:34
Ed?Thanks for all the additional info as well on GK’s that we really do need to make our mind up with if we have no intention of buying Areola, which I can only suspect could be his current wage at PSG? I cannot see Fab being capable of retaining the number 1 spot past the end of this season?
I don’t want to seem to be unsupportive or heartless of the poor Ukrainian people, as I am as sickened and appalled as anybody by the mad, evil Russian slaughtering thousands of Ukrainians and other nationals for his own warped lying ideals, Where will this all end?
⚒⚒⚒⚒

{Ed002's Note - I think I will move on to the RBs next.}

2.) 13 Mar 2022 16:11:04
Ed, I thought Fabianski signed for another year, maybe use him as a number 2, would Pope be available if Burnley go down?

{Ed002's Note - I thought the extra year ran out this coming summer.}

3.) 13 Mar 2022 19:08:12
Reasonably sure Fabianski is secured for next season.

{Ed002's Note - OK.}

4.) 13 Mar 2022 23:02:40
Pope or Meslier for me if either of those teams go down.

Johnstone is a good shot stopper but I hear his kicking is poor and he flaps at crosses. Would rather have areola.

5.) 14 Mar 2022 10:45:35
West Ham have been linked with Johnston got a couple of seasons now and I think he would be a good signing out of contract so no transfer fee and his distribution is good and quick something which Fab and Areola lack. What about Henderson who isn't getting game time at Utd

{Ed002's Note - There is plenty of interest from elsewhere, but none from WHU at this time.}

6.) 14 Mar 2022 20:50:48
Yes its sometimes dearth of other opem convos that leads to some of my politicking and maybe others' too. Goalie situ interests me greatly. Martin maybe shoulda had more of a chance - 36 not old for a keeoer vut kate to make ones mark ; he is mocing on in the summer?

7.) 14 Mar 2022 20:37:42
fabs recently signed a 1yr extension

8.) 14 Mar 2022 22:42:20
Martin is a training ground keeper no where near the level needed. He only got game time for us due to how bad Roberto was.

9.) 15 Mar 2022 10:33:21
Fabs signed a 1 year extension last March which runs out this June. I can't find any info anywhere to suggest he's extended again and every site I visit to check still has his contract expiration at June '22.

10.) 15 Mar 2022 19:53:59
Looking around the internet Billy and Ed you may be right. Seems lots of press that a deal was to be signed in mid Jan, but none saying it was signed. So maybe it does run out in June after all.

11.) 18 Mar 2022 16:28:03
As long as we don't wait til Sept, then panic it has not been signed; nor do we have a replacement on the horizon. This seems to be our Modus Operandus on transfer related stuff.

12.) 21 Mar 2022 00:10:50
Spot on iron.Al martin isn't very good and roberto was probably the worst keeper ever to pull on a west ham shirt thers a heck of a lot of good foreign keepers but if burnley go down which i don't think they will then POPE is a decent keeper and probably the best english keeper about as i don't rate PICKFORD one bit anyway EVERTON are candidates for relegation as they are shocking at the minute big frank relegated i'd laugh my bollocks off were he to get them relegated as he never once showed west ham any respect when he was sold.

13.) 23 Mar 2022 12:08:17
Whorya yes and Lampard is attacking his own team now too - it will all end in tears rather shortly - perhaps with, as you say, relegation.

17 Aug 2021 16:57:07
According to Manchester News, the EPL website states Jesse Lingard as a West Ham player loan for 2021/ 22 season, just saw this online trawling for WH news?

Yes, I saw that too. It’s a strange one. I wouldn’t make too much of it.

2.) 17 Aug 2021 18:12:39
Hasn't he only got 1 year left on contract? Makes no sense man u would want to loan, someone being mischievous probably or a simple typo.

3.) 17 Aug 2021 19:35:38
I don't see it happening well not this window anyway
Scored for them tonight.

What's the bloody point in signing young unknowns and putting them straight into the reserves, we need first team players to go straight in, not bloody worry about making fortunes in future on potential stars! But we all know Sully's about making loads more money!
Like most other posters on here after following us since about mid 1950's, never have I been more disinterested in our team??????⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒

Chelmsford1944

1.) 29 Aug 2025 16:41:10
Yes, name me three youngsters we’ve bought to go into the U21s, or below, who have progressed to become first XI regulars.

2.) 29 Aug 2025 17:35:31
All it takes is one like rice and then the clubs benefits as we did winning a trophy and getting 105m

3.) 29 Aug 2025 22:23:49
How many have we invested time and effort in like Nathan Trott that we could have earned a better price for?
Or let go for free?
How much have we lost on first team players that ended up being no better than the academy product who could have played or the previous shirt holder who was sold for a loss so the new manager could have players that suited his system (but didn't)?

23 Aug 2025 15:39:38
Wow what a proper belting we took, should any PL side be defeated by such an embarrassing margin as we were? if so that side whoever it is, is doomed to be in a lower division!
I am completely non tactical or technical in my Football watching, I just judge players on how I see them if that makes sense? All I can say is the highlight on last nights embarrassment was that wonderful goal from Pacqueta, must be a goal of the month contender at least!
The defending was woeful, I did not think we needed Areola replacing for a start, all players have faults, some embarrassing errors on his debut, but always say he has 10 other players in front of him before he's beaten!
The whole club needs sorting out, I obviously have no idea who is to blame, but it will not be singular that for sure! ⚒⚒⚒COYI

Chelmsford1944

1.) 23 Aug 2025 17:05:52
IMO Chelmsford, our club has turned into a laughing stock. The whole structure is wrong with the 2 in the boardroom the biggest villains. Basically I feel constant wrong managerial appointments with no real strategy to move the club forward without a decent transfer strategy. All that said Potter has to be one of the worst managers in living memory and even though I joined the clamour to get rid of the previous manager after potters games 2 and 3 against Fulham and Palace I realised that what some had said about him before he came was correct and he should have been sacked long before the end of last season.
Potter needs to go but do I trust the board to bring in someone that will improve our long term situation…. Not for one minute

2.) 23 Aug 2025 17:39:56
The strategy is to whack an elastoplast over everything with no thought for the future no succession planning at all, we had an opportunity to push on when we moved to the new stadium then another when we were 4th in prem at Xmas we didn't invest in Jan just lingard on loan then a third opportunity to push on when we won the conference everything has been met with a complete lack of ambition at board room level leaving us with a terrible overpaid squad and a clown for a manager, thanks sully

Whitby, Result today was worse than rubbish, but Whitby we went there today, best place we have ever been to Holidaywise, you are so lucky to live in such a great place?As you said it was rammed, Harbour was lovely as was everywhere we went! Then onto Robin Hoods Bay, lovely. York tomorrow ?⚒⚒⚒⚒

Glad you enjoyed it Chelmsford, it is a lovely place to live mate. But yeah I agree 100% the game was crap.

30 Jul 2025 11:00:05
My opinion only, England team parading the Trophy on stage in front Buck Palace in front of alleged 75, 000 fans, why did Chloe Kelly feel the need to use the " (F) word in front of thousands of children over the microphone while being interviewed by Alex Scott who pulled her up about it, disgusting behaviour!
⚒⚒⚒

Chelmsford1944

1.) 30 Jul 2025 12:22:04
Hiya Chelmsford, totally agree mate and personal hate is the spitting. When the men do it it’s bad enough but seeing a female holding a globule of phlegm on their tongue before launching it through the air fills me with disgust ?

2.) 30 Jul 2025 17:39:42
Yeah man, nothing worse than watching the men spit all over the pitch then roll around in it when somebody touches the pig tails. Disgusting ?

05 Jul 2025 08:33:17
I wonder if the Board offered Fabianski the Keeper coaching job for U21's as they have just given it to another Keeper that Potter has worked with? If not and we probably won't know, what a rubbish club we are! Maybe Fab is a lot more capable in lower divisions and wants to continue playing if possible? Been a great Keeper and servant to us! ⚒⚒⚒

Chelmsford1944

1.) 05 Jul 2025 13:54:20
It seems Fabianski, harbours ambition to continue playing, and good luck to him! To coach, a badge is needed, and he doesn’t have that, so in the short term, wouldn’t be possible

2.) 05 Jul 2025 19:17:20
Actually, I think you’ll find you can start coaching without a badge, as long as you do the course as soon as possible.

{Ed001's Note - not in the Prem. Sometimes they are doing assessed learning for their badges with teams, but they can't actually be a full time coach employed as such.}

3.) 06 Jul 2025 04:13:45
Thanks Ed. Doesn’t the strict Pro Licence rule in the Premiership apply to actual team management, but not to other ‘lesser’ coaching roles where one can work up the ladder to gain the top qualification badge?

{Ed001's Note - you have to be on the courses to work, you can't just rock up without the badges these days. That hasn't been possible since the days of Redknapp. It is not a pro license you need, unless you want to be the head coach. Iirc, you have B and then A licenses to graduate through. They usually just work with youth teams to start with. Odd system though as the youngest kids is where they put the novice coaches and it is the younger kids that you can make the most difference to with coaching. We have our values backward, the better a coach does, the older age level they graduate to. It should be the other way around!}

4.) 06 Jul 2025 11:40:55
I couldn’t agree more. Another element of football today that needs serious looking at. However, isn’t it still possible a Premiership club can offer a player a junior coaching role in a youth side and then get him onto a coaching badge course a bit tout suite? After all, it’s possible a caretaker manager can be appointed in the Prem without his pro licence, as long as he takes the badge course within (I think) 12 weeks. I might be mistaken.

{Ed001's Note - they have to be on the coaching course to take up the coaching role, but that is what they do. Liverpool did it with Gerrard, for example. There is no need with a coaching role at that level to have interim coaches, so no rules to allow it.}

Brooking10, Chelmsford 1944 here?Thank you for your compliment regarding my posts, very nice of you?My posting name is where I have lived in Essex since 2007 and 1944 denotes my year of birth, so bit of an old boy?I was born 1& bred in Dagenham, followed our beloved ⚒since about aged 10, being taken to Upton Park occasionally by family, until starting work aged 15 in 1959 earning the princely sum of £4 weekly! I tried never to miss any home games and went to London away games and all evening games, total fanatic for our club. I know absolutely nothing of players outside England so never comment on rumours referencing them to us! ⚒⚒⚒

Mac, well he certainly didn’t fancy JWP at Forest so don’t see why that should change with us, as as Jim used to say “ Footballs a funny ol’ game”
My son in law is a Forest fanatic and was sick to see Nuno go but pleased to see he’s come to us we’re all
⚒’s, he reckons he’ll do a great job? But no gaurentees whoever Manages us obviously, but hopefully he’ll get better play and results than Potter!
However I will say I was happy to see Potter come to us originally??but what do I know, FA??
Interesting article by Dave Bassett in D Mail on Friday, how much did I agree with him 100%, saying what boring ticky tacky stupid passing 2/3 yards then someday f———g up and goal scored against you!
I’m with Basset all the way long ball upfield and take it from there, bring back big Sam ??⚒⚒⚒

Ed025, Thanks for your thoughts on the incident, every person that saw that happen live, would come to the very same conclusion surely? Absolutely agree with your Bowen comment, too much reliance on one man up front, hope this doesn’t drive him away from our club to a more successful team as there would be many offers for him in the transfer windows?
Thanks again Ed025. ⚒⚒⚒

Chelmsford1944

{Ed025's Note - Bowen will want to be part of the England set up Chelmsford and that will be in jeopardy if hes playing in a struggling side, the Hammers are awful at the moment mate and clubs will be queuing around the block for his signature, unless you get your act together i can see him leaving in Summer if not before, i wish you well my friend..

Ed025’s, I completely 100% agree with you, I watched the game effing and blinding all the through, my post was all about the slating of Bowen by so many posters! I believe he was made Cap because many younger players looked up to him as he was inspirational to them? so he is not a Captain insofar as wrestling the arrogant Paqueta off the pitch, Nuno was looking around tugging at hit nose, he should have hauled him off!
⚒⚒⚒

Chelmsford1944

{Ed025's Note - Paqueta was a disgrace Chelmsford, if i didn,t know better i would think he tried to be sent off mate, i think Bowen is your only class player to be honest and if he were to go i would fear for your status as a premiership team but even with him i still believe you are in trouble..

IMO Nuno should be known as the “Damager” not Manager, he’s responsible for team behaviour, too many blaming Bowen for on field activities, where would we have been the last few seasons without him! Perhaps we should buy Declan back, too many Whiners on here when things go wrong!
⚒⚒⚒

Chelmsford1944

{Ed025's Note - people are bound to moan after performances like that Chelmsford, it was so weak mate and i cant remember you making one decent chance..
