Just read on a site Ivan Toney's name mentioned as a possible option come January. Any truth in these rumours and if so would any of you be happy with him? I would
1.) 15 Oct 2025 17:04:58
Imo Dabber why not? ⚒⚒⚒⚒
2.) 15 Oct 2025 17:22:21
9 clubs are apparently interested, very difficult to sort out, there could be tax ramifications involved, he’s on 440 k weekly, in the east, no clubs want to get involved in his personal business, just for a loan
Spurs and Chelsea, have the clout, if the player is interested, to maybe go for a loan with option
WH just don’t see it, on this one, WH are on the move, they have to get people in, but I don’t see WH having the clout, to sort this one, just my view mate
3.) 15 Oct 2025 17:33:24
I’ve read that they are moving away from Toney as an alternative has been offered on loan with obligation, but they’re not letting on who it is, anyone got any info.
4.) 15 Oct 2025 17:54:08
Take your pick there are NO AGREEMENTS in place at present time For any positions
5.) 15 Oct 2025 18:09:45
I think your referring, to Castellanos, whom WH had two previous opportunities to buy him, from the MLS for 9 m, and from Lazio, last year for £25 m, he’s better In comparison to what we have, but he’s Bowens pace, He is no speed merchant
WH are limited by funds So he’s in the upper tier of what we can get
6.) 15 Oct 2025 22:23:55
If Toney returns to England he’ll probably go to Spurs.
7.) 16 Oct 2025 09:22:41
Firstly I don’t think we could get anywhere near his wages, also Ii don’t think any half decent player will look at West Ham until we start moving up the league and I don’t think many people want to deal with our board.
Let’s hope our form now improves and we move up the league and a buyer comes in for the club………. oh well we can dream
8.) 16 Oct 2025 11:20:55
Hammer-D, no we wouldn’t but not many would. Looking at it from Toneys perspective a loan move in January surely would only be to put himself in Tuchels plans for the WC. In that regard and if its therefore not about money a short term move to WH may be the perfect option …. He’d be guaranteed a start, which he wouldn’t if he went to the money clubs and puts himself firmly in the shop window if he can help turn our season around, which I think he would. Stranger things have happened although I would say I could only see a straight loan happening not a loan with an option/obligation
9.) 16 Oct 2025 15:17:08
Fair point daber I didn’t think about the WC. Would still find it difficult to see him wanting to join us or us paying his wages even only for 6 months. I think we will be looking in the modern day Hartson / Kitson area
10.) 17 Oct 2025 02:54:12
Toney’s wages alone make it a total non-runner, Although he’d improve our team vastly. The morale would drop due to his money and players like Bowen n Pacquetta would expect equal parity pay. It would be a massive mistake, he’s ‘reportedly’ on £20m per year.
11.) 17 Oct 2025 13:00:56
Blimey, Brooking, for once that sounds sensible coming from you! However, you overlook the fact that, under a loan agreement, a negotiated portion of his wages could be paid by his parent club.
12.) 17 Oct 2025 20:41:09
For once Tin Legs. Try not to be a snake! You constantly snipe like the holy growl of knowledge. We all have our opinions. Accept them.
13.) 18 Oct 2025 11:24:35
Call me cynical but ahead of planned protests against the board suddenly striker names that we will never sign starts doing the rounds, sullivans pr wagon is at full steam
14.) 18 Oct 2025 13:09:53
Robbo, I was thinking the same thing!
15.) 18 Oct 2025 13:16:08
Brooking, I do accept that people are entitled to their opinions, but I don’t have to accept what they are saying if I disagree with the substance.
16.) 19 Oct 2025 19:40:35
Tinlegs, but your opinions are offered in such an offhand manner, as if most on this website are wrong/incorrect, yet your opinions are correct, and we ALL have to bow down to them. I have read many of your laughable statements and not replied. There are a couple of followers on here who make some interesting and fair comments. One of these being someone called Chelmsford, whoever this person is shows they are a true fan and willing to read and consider a persons writing. Sadly, you do not.
17.) 20 Oct 2025 15:18:21
Brooking, what discussion forum are you reading? Thing is, I agree with most contributors on here which can be confirmed by reading past posts. Of course there’s a few I disagree with, and you appear to be consistently in that category. I’m very interested in the “laughable statements” I’ve allegedly made. Specifically, to which ones do you refer? I’m always up for a good laugh.
Regards,
Tin.
18.) 23 Oct 2025 13:16:01
Brooking10, Chelmsford 1944 here?Thank you for your compliment regarding my posts, very nice of you?My posting name is where I have lived in Essex since 2007 and 1944 denotes my year of birth, so bit of an old boy?I was born 1& bred in Dagenham, followed our beloved ⚒since about aged 10, being taken to Upton Park occasionally by family, until starting work aged 15 in 1959 earning the princely sum of £4 weekly! I tried never to miss any home games and went to London away games and all evening games, total fanatic for our club. I know absolutely nothing of players outside England so never comment on rumours referencing them to us! ⚒⚒⚒
03 Aug 2025 21:34:43
Pacqueta was absolutely outstanding and like a new player. I'll hold my hands up and say I'd have got rid but he was bloody marvellous tonight! Good on him. Kilman, Malick also exceptional, everybody else played really well apart from .
Areola who is just a calamity waiting to happen and JWP who was bloody awful and just slows us down. He offers nothing to the team and is no longer the set piece supremo as you rightly pointed out Tinlegs
Our bench is still shallow and still need a couple of midfielders (or 3) and a much better goalkeeper but I think we look alright and Maliks crosses look deadly
1.) 04 Aug 2025 15:22:45
Potts needs a mention too. Very tidy. Frequently in the right place at the right time. Makes himself available to the back four and looks up to make the right pass.
Highly encouraging.
01 Dec 2024 16:13:29
Was talking to 2 Middlesbrough fans last week who said most of the fans there believe Carrick is coming to West Ham and they are gutted! God I hope so! ??????
1.) 02 Dec 2024 16:21:35
Hard to have an opinion on this one, i am a big fan of Michael Carrick but i do not know enough about Middlesborough to know if he has done a great job or not there. He has had 2 seasons there now and failed to get them promoted, and his teams tend to concede a fair amount of goals (never in the top 8 for fewest goals conceded) which is not what we need. This is in a weaker league also, but by all means not an easy league.
It could be Borough have not got the investment, maybe they lost key players . i do not know enough about them to pass a judgement on him here. Anyone know more pleas share?
Personally, and i know people are very polarised on this, i think we need to stick with J-Lop through December. We were WAY off the pace vs Arsenal, but most teams are, and we encountered yet another team at the peak of their form this year. Seems we always meet teams this year when they are hitting their best form. However, this was still BETTER than our performance vs Arsenal last year, so arguably its progress, and there were key officiating decisions that made some differnece also this year (not saying the result would have been differnet) . We must remember how bad our form was last year, we had 14 points aft 17 games last year! What we are seeing is a continuation of that form, which can PARTLY be justified by the fact we are seeing a huge squad change and a changing coaching/playing style. I still think we could get around 50 points if we can get Fulkrug playing or get a new striker in soon. that's not bad for a transitional year.
J-Lop has had 1/3 of season to learn his players and tweak his style, and i believe he has recently adjusted this slightly for the better by not playing too high a defensive line. Players have also shown signs of adapting and we are getting better at creating chances as they gel more. The Arsenal game was a free pass for me, and the real proof in the pudding comes in the next 5 games up until new year. A VERY poor run in these games and it will be hard to justify his place at the helm.
We are only 5 points off 7th and i believe we have had a hard run start and also encountered teams when they have been bang on form. It is fine margins still, reverse the Totenham result and we are above them, that's ONE game, same goes for Aston Villa! And this is without a top class striker, with Paqueta out of sorts, and Kudus out of form (although he looked like he was clicking before Spurs)
2.) 02 Dec 2024 18:25:13
Nickinho you are a true optimistic WH supporter Hope you are right, but at this time I don’t share your rosy outlook, IF we can get some quality in the window, then maybe …….I was Loppy out after 4 games, along with others, IMO nothing has been seen to date to change that opinion, The Barodes was only game we played well, 6 of our 15 points were gained against Man U and Palace, we where extremely lucky! In both games, ALSO for me there are no free pass games, we need to be competitive against all comers, that’s the secret of success, and the whole reason Steidten was appointed, sorry mate, that’s my take at present
3.) 03 Dec 2024 21:43:06
How can you drop Emerson for Coufal? Madness. Why does he not play the same team which played Newcastle, forget Arsenal - they’re on another planet to us.
Wonder if Potter n Nolan fancy linking together?
4.) 03 Dec 2024 22:20:34
Sorry but u can not seriously suggest we keep this manager another day let alone December. He should be no where near that touchline, and if they don’t get rid, they need to have a serious look at themselves.
Ings should never wear the shirt again, why play wan Bissaka on the left when Emerson is available is just ludicrous. He needs to go now.
15 Nov 2024 13:29:45
Is this me having brain freeze or would anybody else make enquiries for Paul Pogba given that Juventus are going to release him and he'd be available on a free? He's only 31 and could be offered an initial short term contract .
1.) 15 Nov 2024 14:33:52
I think his wage demands would exclude us.
2.) 15 Nov 2024 17:07:13
Apparently he has been training very hard and although approaching 32, he will be out to prove himself, but as Tin Legs mooted his wages, would likely be way over our structure, so unless he becomes undesirable for others, there’s no chance of him joining us
3.) 18 Nov 2024 13:54:50
We ain't paupers . Stop buying into the media's narrative . We have the 4th richest owners in the premier league. And also the 2nd highest attendance and are also the 5th highest net spenders in the past 4 years . It isn't doing the fanbase any favours .
4.) 18 Nov 2024 18:42:59
I think maybe we were thinking of Sullivan's reluctance to pay the wages he would possibly demand, especially for a player of his age and with his track record.
5.) 18 Nov 2024 18:49:44
Sorry my friend, there’s no narrative, no media, just plain fact WH are not going to pay ANYBODY 250/300 k a week full stop, in relative terms, we are a medium sized club, that’s also a fact, I’m not blindsiding anybody, in terms of spending power in the UK, we should be running between positions 6/8, we are far from that, that’s not the money, that’s poor management, poor performance, wrong choices, and that’s a fact as well, I don’t like conflict with other fans, but you have to accept the present reality, IF and it’s a big IF, Kretinsky and or others buy out Sullivan, then their might be massive changes, but not at the present time, I have a good insight into WH financials, via channels, and the gross spend amount last window, said on here was bang on, yes we are far from paupers, but we are not City, United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal Spurs that’s for starters, sorry 7580
6.) 19 Nov 2024 17:29:46
Joyful, I don't think Pogba is going to get £250-300k a week of anybody’s money let alone Sullivans, surely given the ban and his age he will need to lower his salary expectation? £150k per week for a 12 month contract, would that not work for both parties ….
7.) 20 Nov 2024 10:39:27
It all depends on which Pogba you get. The one with wings or the one with horns!
8.) 20 Nov 2024 13:37:24
I was using that huge salary as an example, if we look at Pogba, there may well be a club out there, willing to pay him a massive sum each week, football is unpredictable in that way, but that club won’t be WH, certainly under its present shareholding allocation.
if of course , that player becomes available for a much smaller wage, AND should, he want to join us, than it’s a different story, but the whole scenario is unlikely, that’s my own view, just to expand a little, if you had a fantasy situation where Haaland said I only want to play for WH, we could not pay him his present £ 440 k a week, even on.
A free transfer, think that shows where we are, we are not a small skint club, but we cannot compete with some others unfortunately, that’s the whole reason Steidten was brought in, to find a squad eventually, that doesn’t cost the earth, but is totally competitive,
9.) 22 Nov 2024 10:51:02
I appreciate Steidten is working on a 5 year plan but for me Pogba on a free shows more intention than Rodrigues on a free, who has been appalling and a backward step. I genuinely don’t think there is a club outside of Saudi that will pay Pogba anywhere near that amount of money. I still think we’ll come good (once the manager is moved on) but we need a short term injection similar to that which Lingard gaves us ….Pogba might just be it. Interesting thought though isn’t it?
13 Jun 2024 20:20:16
Ed02 can you give us any information where you think we are in terms of transfer targets etc? Any info you can provide is very appreciated
{Ed002's Note - I may have missed a few things and it may need an update, but it is something like this:
Wes Foderingham (G) West Ham are keen on the out of contract player.
Juan Miranda (LWB) Seen as a Free Agent option for Milan after losing out on Carlos Augusto or Porto. Scouts from West Ham, Brentford and Crystal Palace have also been watching. Wildcard may be Wolves if they lose Ait-Nouri.
Jacob Greaves (CB) Young Hull CB looked at on a number of occasions over the past year by ex-Leicester scout Jose Fontes on behalf of Roma. Seen as another potential Branthwaite replacement for Everton. West Ham have also declared an interest.
Max Kilman (CB) Agent has told several clubs that he could be made available by Wolves - but I am sure they are not looking to sell after signing a new contract not too long ago. Perhaps keep an eye on West Ham.
Jake O'Brien (CB) Having a good season in France so far and was Everton's preferred Jarrad Branthwaite replacement for the summer. West Ham have identified O'Brien as an option, probably the preferred option to replace Aguard. Dortmund offer a wildcard option. Atletico and Newcastle have sent scouts.
Davinson Sanchez (CB) Galatasaray are looking for €25M for Sanchez with interest from Napoli and West Ham. Prior interest of Fulham likely left with the asking price.
Fabricio Bruno (CB) West Ham are very keen on the Flamengo CB but a move seems unlikely as obtaining a Work Permit will be very difficult.
Nehuen Perez (CB) Napoli and West Ham have declared an interest with Udinese.
Jonathan Tah (CB) BL may cash in the summer with serious interest from Bayern Munich as a Dayot Upamecano replacement. Interest from Newcastle - down the list of CB options for Chelsea and Spurs but may still interest WHU as a Zouma replacement. I think he will head to Bayern Munich.
Trevoh Chalobah (CB/DM) – Spurs, Crystal Palace and Manchester United remain keen. Napoli and Roma interest has gone. There was a discussion with Milan with an extraordinary part exchange offer made - but it will go nowhere. Player wants to leave for more game time and I suspect he will be allowed to leave if the right offer comes in. Something may be worked out with Crystal Palace with Chelsea interest in players from their. Spurs interest has returned - but they may only be looking for squad depth, and may only want him as cover. West Ham and Nottingham Forest may offer wildcard solutions but I doubt either would be of interest to the player. Manchester United had an offer rejected last summer but could return, and being Home Grown makes him attractive. Atletico Madrid and Bayern have asked about his fitness but with Tuchel gone Bayern interest will likely have gone and Atletico are close to signing another London based CB, so they can also be discounted. Will likely leave in the summer regardless of long-term contract, but if he gets a guarantee of game time he may well stay - although Chelsea have always avoided making such assurances.
Conor Gallagher (CM) If he leaves it will be to elsewhere.
Aleix Garcia (CM) Has done very well coming back in to the City Group fold after being discarded by Manchester City. Bayer Leverkusen are negotiating a move with Girona. Player has said he is not interested in a move to West Ham.
Emile Smith-Rowe (CM) Wants to leave for more game time. Could be offered to Brentford as part of a part exchange deal for Toney. Brighton, Newcastle or Aston Villa may provide options but the player would likely not be interested. West Ham would like a loan to buy. Napoli interest has gone. A summer move seems possible unless Arsenal give him assurances.
Matias Soule (AM/RW/LW) Atalanta remain keen on the young Argentinian left-footed right winger who is spending the season on loan at Frosinone. Crystal Palace wanted Soule to replace Michael Olise or Eze and had one offer rejected even though they have signed one replacement. They may return with another offer that matches the valuation Juventus have placed on the player. Atalanta may demand him as part of any deal for Koopmeiners. Leicester, West Ham, Wolves, Feyenoord and Spurs can likely be dismissed as a optionn now. Scouts from Liverpool and Spurs attended a match against Sassuolo to watch him in September. Juventus rejected a large offer from the Middle East but Michael Emenalo still has him as a target.
Armand Laurienté (LW/RW) Sassuolo will be open to a good offer for the particularly moody winger with Emil Konradsen Ceide emerging as a replacement and well respected youngster Riccardo Ciervo out on loan for the season. Spurs and West Ham have been keeping a watchful eye.
Raheem Sterling (RW/F) Future unclear - perhaps the Middle East. Chelsea want his wages off the books and are willing to use him as a makeweight in exchange for a specific player but would need to pay at least half his wages. West Ham are open to a move but will not come close to matching his wages.
Luis Guilherme (AM/W) Manchester United, Real Madrid, Chelsea, West Ham, Manchester City, Liverpool and Barcelona have shown an interest in the player for next summer. Chelsea discussed him during negotiations two other players. Spurs may well have noted him when scouting another Palmeiras player. However, a new contract and a €60M release clause will prove to be an issue but West Ham are trying to find a suitable structure to the payments. Subject to paperwork, the move to West Ham is agreed.
Jhon Arias (RW) First choice for West Ham and price will not be an issue - but they need to ensure a Work Permit is available. A potential Bowen replacement perhaps?
Jota (LW) West Ham and Crystal Palace are trying to find a way to end the nightmare the player is having not being eligible to play for Al-Ittihad. There are issues to resolve - a loan would require his full wages to be paid and simply moves the issue down the line. A fee to recover the €30M they paid Celtic for him and reduced wages and resolution of a tax issue would please everyone and allow him to be purchased.
Jota Silva (LW/F) Scouts have been watching him from across Europe including Brentford and West Ham. The player wants a move to Benfica but may need to settle for West Ham who are pushing.
Ibrahim Osman (W/F) Brighton or West Ham would need to pay over the odds to make a transfer happen but will try and find a solution. Crystal Palace may offer an option but I suspect a move to Brighton will happen.
Youssef En-Nesyri (S) Seen as a cheap option for West Ham, Manchester United and Aston Villa, but the player could be open to Mr Emenalo's offer to take him to Al-Hilal. I expect West Ham to push.
Ivan Toney (S) Brentford do not want to sell but are aware Toney may look to move up a step and will reluctantly look to perhaps £70M as a sale price in the summer but will likely not get anything close to that. Newcastle - if they can sell their project to him given - offer the chance of a return to the club who previously could find no use for him in the three years he was there. Arsenal, Leeds, Manchester United, Spurs, Chelsea and West Ham have all sent scouts on more than one occasion to watch him prior to his ban, but Chelsea and Spurs have preferred options meaning West Ham, Arsenal or Manchester United are likely best placed to complete a transfer.
Serhou Guirassy (S) Will head elsewhere.
Dominic Solanke (S) Will head elsewhere.
Fotis Ioannidis (S) West Ham have sent scouts to watch the Greek at Panathinaikos - having a good season but a huge step up. Celtic and Sporting Lisbon offer options and Sporting will likely win out.
Sammie Szmodics (S) Will move this summer. Wants to move to West Ham but it is Galatasaray who were first to declare an interest. Possible Calvert-Lewin replacement for Everton. Leicester offer and option. Could possibly get his desired move but the offer from Turkey might be very attractive.
Jorgen Strand Larsen (S) Of serious interest to West Ham as a Sammie Szmodics alternative. Could be a good buy.
Armando Broja (S) Will be available in the summer with considerable interest. Loan to Fulham failed although Chelsea were paid £4M. Southampton, West Ham or Wolves may look to an early offer but Monaco offer a far more attractive option although they think they can sign their preferred option. Everton have asked for an initial loan but Chelsea want to sell and Everton need to be careful with money. Milan are after two strikers and are looking at Broja in addition to Zirkzee knowing they cannot sign Sesko.}

Paqueta absolute liability! Idiot!
1.) 30 Nov 2025 19:41:00
Too much blame being put on on Bowen when What was Nuno doing, he should have hauled Paqueta off immediately he saw his big mouth shouting whilst following the Ref round!
He wants to be gone and so do many fans with behaviour like that??We’re doing badly enough with eleven let alone 10 men! ⚒⚒⚒
2.) 01 Dec 2025 10:49:11
IMO Nuno should be known as the “Damager” not Manager, he’s responsible for team behaviour, too many blaming Bowen for on field activities, where would we have been the last few seasons without him! Perhaps we should buy Declan back, too many Whiners on here when things go wrong!
⚒⚒⚒
{Ed025's Note - people are bound to moan after performances like that Chelmsford, it was so weak mate and i cant remember you making one decent chance..
3.) 01 Dec 2025 14:15:14
Ed025’s, I completely 100% agree with you, I watched the game effing and blinding all the through, my post was all about the slating of Bowen by so many posters! I believe he was made Cap because many younger players looked up to him as he was inspirational to them? so he is not a Captain insofar as wrestling the arrogant Paqueta off the pitch, Nuno was looking around tugging at hit nose, he should have hauled him off!
⚒⚒⚒
{Ed025's Note - Paqueta was a disgrace Chelmsford, if i didn,t know better i would think he tried to be sent off mate, i think Bowen is your only class player to be honest and if he were to go i would fear for your status as a premiership team but even with him i still believe you are in trouble..
4.) 01 Dec 2025 16:05:01
Ed025, Thanks for your thoughts on the incident, every person that saw that happen live, would come to the very same conclusion surely? Absolutely agree with your Bowen comment, too much reliance on one man up front, hope this doesn’t drive him away from our club to a more successful team as there would be many offers for him in the transfer windows?
Thanks again Ed025. ⚒⚒⚒
{Ed025's Note - Bowen will want to be part of the England set up Chelmsford and that will be in jeopardy if hes playing in a struggling side, the Hammers are awful at the moment mate and clubs will be queuing around the block for his signature, unless you get your act together i can see him leaving in Summer if not before, i wish you well my friend..
23 Nov 2025 08:53:05
Was Summerville injured during the International break?
1.) 23 Nov 2025 12:03:00
Apparently just picked up a knock probably in training
24 Oct 2025 22:39:37
Second game in a row that Nuno's ridiculous starting line up costs us the game. Irving and Souchek, no pace or intensity in the midfield. Scarles and AWB on the wrong sides and no forward on the pitch. We looked better when Fernandez, Potts and Sougassa came on, more energy and much quicker passing the only slight light at the end of an incredibly long and dark tunnel.
1.) 24 Oct 2025 23:19:56
Should it have come to that Dabber. A blind man could see the subs you mentioned should have started. It’s either a weird pig headedness to stick with a sh@t team or something more sinister!
2.) 25 Oct 2025 09:11:32
No it shouldn’t HD even Rob Green on Sky expressed how odd it was to make the same mistake 2 games in a row. There were only 2 green shoots for me:
1) The 3 young lads looked like they could play well together as a 3 with Potts as the holding midfielder and Fernandes and Mougassa linking play. I watched Mougassa closely when he came on for his 10 minutes or so and he actually looked neat and tidy.
2) If we go down the side is likely to be built round those 3 and they are young enough to provide a good foundation to build on for the future.
Of course the other added bonus of going down is getting rid BS who would likely as not fire sell Bowan, Summerville and Paqueta then hopefully cut their losses and “F” Off!
3.) 25 Oct 2025 09:20:33
Hopefully that experiment is now over, it shouldn't have took 2 games to work out that soucek and Irving was going to be a disaster, arguably our best performance was against Everton when we played magassa fernandes and paqueta in midfield, the difference was night and day when they came on we were picking up loose balls, putting in challenges and they couldn't just run straight through our midfield at our shakey defence like when soucek and Irving were in midfield. We endured that enough watching jwp and soucek now we have to watch him and Irving.
There is no doubt in my mind that selecting a midfield 3 of either, Paqueta, Potts, Fernandes, Magassa, wins the midfield battle against Brentford and Leeds as it did against Everton. Changes didn't really need to be made after the Arsenal loss, certainly not inverting full backs and replacing a young energetic midfield with 2 of the slowest midfielders in the league.
Nuno did have a bad start at forrest soo hopefully he can turn it around but that won't be playing those donkeys in midfield.
03 Oct 2025 17:24:23
My team/formation for tomorrow. I think we should go at them and have a go!
Areola
Mav. Igor. Kilman
KWP. Mougassa. Fernandes. Diouf
Paqueta
Bowen. Summerville
1.) 03 Oct 2025 18:35:07
No striker Babber?
2.) 03 Oct 2025 18:45:56
I’d do similar Dabber. 5 at the back might be better for this game. I would play AWB instead of KWP if Aaron is fit, and Potts has to be in as he was excellent when he came on the other day. Weather that is at the expense of Magassa or Fernandez, I’m not sure which. So far Fernandez hasn’t done much IMHO he played okay against Forrest but after he came off we scored 3. He was anonymous against Everton
3.) 03 Oct 2025 18:55:14
No Gerry mate. Tbh Bowen and Crys more likely to score than Fulkrug or Wilson so thought the extra cb would give us more protection when defending corners and more licence for KWP and Diouf to get forward
4.) 03 Oct 2025 19:57:34
Nothing to lose, so I’d like to see:
Areola
Diouf
AWB
Mavropanos
Igor
Paqueta
Potts
Fernandes
Bowen
Summerville
Marshall
Throw caution to the wind.
5.) 03 Oct 2025 21:52:10
Thank heavens you’re not the manager, Tin ?
6.) 04 Oct 2025 07:08:28
Brooking, this is Arsenal we’re playing. For me, the favourites to win the title this season as the Premiership strongest team. I can’t see us getting a result, no matter who we field, so my team selection is somewhat tongue in cheek as a spectator. It’s a fantasy side against Arsenal. But then again I’m not surprised you don’t see that. If you think I believe Nuno will pick a side like that, you are more delusional than Joyfull said you are! ?

By the way, my serious team selection would be similar to Dabber’s choice, but with Potts in place of Magassa and AWB instead of KWP.

3 points for us today, we have our main striker and top goal scorer Fulkrug up front! hope he makes me look a real d———d and scores a couple, am I confident NO??⚒⚒⚒COYI

Strangely, apart from Igor, Nuno ended up playing the same as my fantasy XI. So, not as daft as you think Brooking!
10.) 04 Oct 2025 19:12:00
You’re clutching at straws there TL, Igor, Potts and Marshall didn’t make the starting 11, good try though ??
I watched the game and although we didn’t look like winning the performance and energy was so much better apart from Fulkrug ….total waste of a player and strolled around all afternoon letting others do his closing down. I thought it was a penalty but don’t blame Diouf for giving it away, in the heat of the moment most players would do the same. We looked much better at defending corners but as Joyfull said, where do the goals come from? I think Nuno will keep us up, just
11.) 04 Oct 2025 20:38:33
Dabber, you’re wrong. Nuno DID END UP playing all those players (apart from Igor as stated) at some point. FACT. Clutching at straws?
12.) 05 Oct 2025 01:40:25
He brought on Potts and Marshall ….doesn’t make you some sort of kindred spirit with him feller ?
13.) 05 Oct 2025 10:35:06
I said it was strange, and I clearly never expected to see these players used — that’s why I used the word ‘fantasy’. Kindred spirit? Really?

Tinlegs why on another post you say that Guilermes just needs more experience but would be reluctant to give Earthy and Fearon experience. They are all similar in age
15 Nov 2025 09:32:05
I’d prefer inexperienced Earthy/Fearon to Irving who imo is blocking their progress
13 Nov 2025 22:44:59
Don’t get me wrong, I like the look of him but 3 coaches have ignored him. Personally I hope Nuno gives the lad a go otherwise how does he improve. It’s really odd given how thin our squad is ….

Bang on RedRobbo

Think is Joyful if he hasn’t met the perceived expectation then there is a problem with him as a player ….

Unfortunately it takes a certain type of manager to handle these lying owners, ones that are not afraid to stand up to them and do things their own way. We’ve had 2 in the last 10-15 years and that's Moyes and Fat Sam. Because of their ability to avoid being “yes men” both had a degree of success. This was why I personally didn’t mind Moyes. The football wasn’t great to watch but at least we had security in the PL and were playing in Europe. I know a lot of people will say Moyes is to blame for the position we’re in now but that's just unfair. When Moyes left Sullivan replaced him with a lesser standard manager who along with Steidten spent all of the Rice money and more on substandard signings. Look at Everton now, flying ….Shearer was right, we needed to be careful what we wished for

I again agree we have bigger problems than the captaincy however Rome wasn’t built in a day. New ownership and director of football isn’t going to happen anytime soon and as s**t as his tactics are sacking Nuno is probably a slightly worse decision than giving him more time. The quicker fix is new players in 4 weeks and releasing pressure from our best player by relieving him of the burden of captaincy

I love Bowen Chelms but I’m making the assumption that if we go down he would be sold anyway. I’ve never thought he was Captain material apart from the fact he always tries hard. If we go down I’m with Brooking and would give it to Fernandes. HD I also think Todibo has improved under Nuno but again like Bowen think he will be on his toes if we get relegated
01 Dec 2025 12:13:05
Interesting how they sent out young Fernandes out to do the post match Sky interview yesterday rather than the Captain ….
I think you all make really valid points. The club is in a mess and needs a complete overhaul. I hate to say it but maybe going down forcing the tosspot owners into a fire sale of both club and mercenary players wouldn’t be a bad thing. Of the current squad the only ones I’d keep for the Championship in the hope of a swift return would be Fernandes, Potts, Scarles, Mougassa, Summerville, Areola, KWP and AWB the rest can and probably would do one ….
30 Nov 2025 15:23:56
Even his own International team mate couldn’t calm him down so what hope did Bowen have. I have said this before he doesn’t give us enough to be forgiven for behaviour like that ….
