Must confess to not knowing much about Paco Jemez however have googled him and it appears he's a much respected and in demand attack minded coach. Brave or foolhardy of Nuno to take him on as an assistant! What are the odds on him being our next manager/head coach?
1.) 26 Jan 2026 17:56:55
Please tell me we are not entertaining any bids for Summerville
2.) 26 Jan 2026 18:29:58
WH would be absolutely crackers, to even think about selling Summerville
The player has found his form, the offers, are less than WH paid why on earth would they sell
Yes if say someone offered £60 m, then providing adequate replacements were found, then it must be considered
But with the market coming to an end, and his form being so good
Sullivan, would need to see a shrink
Obviously, if the worse comes about, , in the summer, , then certain players would leave, he would be one
3.) 26 Jan 2026 19:22:31
I wouldn’t want sterling as a replacement for Summerville because he is now starting to show some of the form he had when he was at Leeds. Sterling is yesterdays news
4.) 26 Jan 2026 20:32:04
Sullivan will grab the cash for Summerville. It's exactly why we signed Keiber Lamadrid on loan.
5.) 26 Jan 2026 22:10:12
Suicide, and ludicrous if Sullivan sells
15 Oct 2025 11:40:36
Just read on a site Ivan Toney's name mentioned as a possible option come January. Any truth in these rumours and if so would any of you be happy with him? I would
1.) 15 Oct 2025 17:04:58
Imo Dabber why not? ⚒⚒⚒⚒
2.) 15 Oct 2025 17:22:21
9 clubs are apparently interested, very difficult to sort out, there could be tax ramifications involved, he’s on 440 k weekly, in the east, no clubs want to get involved in his personal business, just for a loan
Spurs and Chelsea, have the clout, if the player is interested, to maybe go for a loan with option
WH just don’t see it, on this one, WH are on the move, they have to get people in, but I don’t see WH having the clout, to sort this one, just my view mate
3.) 15 Oct 2025 17:33:24
I’ve read that they are moving away from Toney as an alternative has been offered on loan with obligation, but they’re not letting on who it is, anyone got any info.
4.) 15 Oct 2025 17:54:08
Take your pick there are NO AGREEMENTS in place at present time For any positions
5.) 15 Oct 2025 18:09:45
I think your referring, to Castellanos, whom WH had two previous opportunities to buy him, from the MLS for 9 m, and from Lazio, last year for £25 m, he’s better In comparison to what we have, but he’s Bowens pace, He is no speed merchant
WH are limited by funds So he’s in the upper tier of what we can get
6.) 15 Oct 2025 22:23:55
If Toney returns to England he’ll probably go to Spurs.
7.) 16 Oct 2025 09:22:41
Firstly I don’t think we could get anywhere near his wages, also Ii don’t think any half decent player will look at West Ham until we start moving up the league and I don’t think many people want to deal with our board.
Let’s hope our form now improves and we move up the league and a buyer comes in for the club………. oh well we can dream
8.) 16 Oct 2025 11:20:55
Hammer-D, no we wouldn’t but not many would. Looking at it from Toneys perspective a loan move in January surely would only be to put himself in Tuchels plans for the WC. In that regard and if its therefore not about money a short term move to WH may be the perfect option …. He’d be guaranteed a start, which he wouldn’t if he went to the money clubs and puts himself firmly in the shop window if he can help turn our season around, which I think he would. Stranger things have happened although I would say I could only see a straight loan happening not a loan with an option/obligation
9.) 16 Oct 2025 15:17:08
Fair point daber I didn’t think about the WC. Would still find it difficult to see him wanting to join us or us paying his wages even only for 6 months. I think we will be looking in the modern day Hartson / Kitson area
10.) 17 Oct 2025 02:54:12
Toney’s wages alone make it a total non-runner, Although he’d improve our team vastly. The morale would drop due to his money and players like Bowen n Pacquetta would expect equal parity pay. It would be a massive mistake, he’s ‘reportedly’ on £20m per year.
11.) 17 Oct 2025 13:00:56
Blimey, Brooking, for once that sounds sensible coming from you! However, you overlook the fact that, under a loan agreement, a negotiated portion of his wages could be paid by his parent club.
12.) 17 Oct 2025 20:41:09
For once Tin Legs. Try not to be a snake! You constantly snipe like the holy growl of knowledge. We all have our opinions. Accept them.
13.) 18 Oct 2025 11:24:35
Call me cynical but ahead of planned protests against the board suddenly striker names that we will never sign starts doing the rounds, sullivans pr wagon is at full steam
14.) 18 Oct 2025 13:09:53
Robbo, I was thinking the same thing!
15.) 18 Oct 2025 13:16:08
Brooking, I do accept that people are entitled to their opinions, but I don’t have to accept what they are saying if I disagree with the substance.
16.) 19 Oct 2025 19:40:35
Tinlegs, but your opinions are offered in such an offhand manner, as if most on this website are wrong/incorrect, yet your opinions are correct, and we ALL have to bow down to them. I have read many of your laughable statements and not replied. There are a couple of followers on here who make some interesting and fair comments. One of these being someone called Chelmsford, whoever this person is shows they are a true fan and willing to read and consider a persons writing. Sadly, you do not.
17.) 20 Oct 2025 15:18:21
Brooking, what discussion forum are you reading? Thing is, I agree with most contributors on here which can be confirmed by reading past posts. Of course there’s a few I disagree with, and you appear to be consistently in that category. I’m very interested in the “laughable statements” I’ve allegedly made. Specifically, to which ones do you refer? I’m always up for a good laugh.
Regards,
Tin.

Brooking10, Chelmsford 1944 here?Thank you for your compliment regarding my posts, very nice of you?My posting name is where I have lived in Essex since 2007 and 1944 denotes my year of birth, so bit of an old boy?I was born 1& bred in Dagenham, followed our beloved ⚒since about aged 10, being taken to Upton Park occasionally by family, until starting work aged 15 in 1959 earning the princely sum of £4 weekly! I tried never to miss any home games and went to London away games and all evening games, total fanatic for our club. I know absolutely nothing of players outside England so never comment on rumours referencing them to us! ⚒⚒⚒
03 Aug 2025 21:34:43
Pacqueta was absolutely outstanding and like a new player. I'll hold my hands up and say I'd have got rid but he was bloody marvellous tonight! Good on him. Kilman, Malick also exceptional, everybody else played really well apart from .
Areola who is just a calamity waiting to happen and JWP who was bloody awful and just slows us down. He offers nothing to the team and is no longer the set piece supremo as you rightly pointed out Tinlegs
Our bench is still shallow and still need a couple of midfielders (or 3) and a much better goalkeeper but I think we look alright and Maliks crosses look deadly
1.) 04 Aug 2025 15:22:45
Potts needs a mention too. Very tidy. Frequently in the right place at the right time. Makes himself available to the back four and looks up to make the right pass.
Highly encouraging.
01 Dec 2024 16:13:29
Was talking to 2 Middlesbrough fans last week who said most of the fans there believe Carrick is coming to West Ham and they are gutted! God I hope so! ??????
1.) 02 Dec 2024 16:21:35
Hard to have an opinion on this one, i am a big fan of Michael Carrick but i do not know enough about Middlesborough to know if he has done a great job or not there. He has had 2 seasons there now and failed to get them promoted, and his teams tend to concede a fair amount of goals (never in the top 8 for fewest goals conceded) which is not what we need. This is in a weaker league also, but by all means not an easy league.
It could be Borough have not got the investment, maybe they lost key players . i do not know enough about them to pass a judgement on him here. Anyone know more pleas share?
Personally, and i know people are very polarised on this, i think we need to stick with J-Lop through December. We were WAY off the pace vs Arsenal, but most teams are, and we encountered yet another team at the peak of their form this year. Seems we always meet teams this year when they are hitting their best form. However, this was still BETTER than our performance vs Arsenal last year, so arguably its progress, and there were key officiating decisions that made some differnece also this year (not saying the result would have been differnet) . We must remember how bad our form was last year, we had 14 points aft 17 games last year! What we are seeing is a continuation of that form, which can PARTLY be justified by the fact we are seeing a huge squad change and a changing coaching/playing style. I still think we could get around 50 points if we can get Fulkrug playing or get a new striker in soon. that's not bad for a transitional year.
J-Lop has had 1/3 of season to learn his players and tweak his style, and i believe he has recently adjusted this slightly for the better by not playing too high a defensive line. Players have also shown signs of adapting and we are getting better at creating chances as they gel more. The Arsenal game was a free pass for me, and the real proof in the pudding comes in the next 5 games up until new year. A VERY poor run in these games and it will be hard to justify his place at the helm.
We are only 5 points off 7th and i believe we have had a hard run start and also encountered teams when they have been bang on form. It is fine margins still, reverse the Totenham result and we are above them, that's ONE game, same goes for Aston Villa! And this is without a top class striker, with Paqueta out of sorts, and Kudus out of form (although he looked like he was clicking before Spurs)
2.) 02 Dec 2024 18:25:13
Nickinho you are a true optimistic WH supporter Hope you are right, but at this time I don’t share your rosy outlook, IF we can get some quality in the window, then maybe …….I was Loppy out after 4 games, along with others, IMO nothing has been seen to date to change that opinion, The Barodes was only game we played well, 6 of our 15 points were gained against Man U and Palace, we where extremely lucky! In both games, ALSO for me there are no free pass games, we need to be competitive against all comers, that’s the secret of success, and the whole reason Steidten was appointed, sorry mate, that’s my take at present
3.) 03 Dec 2024 21:43:06
How can you drop Emerson for Coufal? Madness. Why does he not play the same team which played Newcastle, forget Arsenal - they’re on another planet to us.
Wonder if Potter n Nolan fancy linking together?
4.) 03 Dec 2024 22:20:34
Sorry but u can not seriously suggest we keep this manager another day let alone December. He should be no where near that touchline, and if they don’t get rid, they need to have a serious look at themselves.
Ings should never wear the shirt again, why play wan Bissaka on the left when Emerson is available is just ludicrous. He needs to go now.
15 Nov 2024 13:29:45
Is this me having brain freeze or would anybody else make enquiries for Paul Pogba given that Juventus are going to release him and he'd be available on a free? He's only 31 and could be offered an initial short term contract .
1.) 15 Nov 2024 14:33:52
I think his wage demands would exclude us.
2.) 15 Nov 2024 17:07:13
Apparently he has been training very hard and although approaching 32, he will be out to prove himself, but as Tin Legs mooted his wages, would likely be way over our structure, so unless he becomes undesirable for others, there’s no chance of him joining us
3.) 18 Nov 2024 13:54:50
We ain't paupers . Stop buying into the media's narrative . We have the 4th richest owners in the premier league. And also the 2nd highest attendance and are also the 5th highest net spenders in the past 4 years . It isn't doing the fanbase any favours .
4.) 18 Nov 2024 18:42:59
I think maybe we were thinking of Sullivan's reluctance to pay the wages he would possibly demand, especially for a player of his age and with his track record.
5.) 18 Nov 2024 18:49:44
Sorry my friend, there’s no narrative, no media, just plain fact WH are not going to pay ANYBODY 250/300 k a week full stop, in relative terms, we are a medium sized club, that’s also a fact, I’m not blindsiding anybody, in terms of spending power in the UK, we should be running between positions 6/8, we are far from that, that’s not the money, that’s poor management, poor performance, wrong choices, and that’s a fact as well, I don’t like conflict with other fans, but you have to accept the present reality, IF and it’s a big IF, Kretinsky and or others buy out Sullivan, then their might be massive changes, but not at the present time, I have a good insight into WH financials, via channels, and the gross spend amount last window, said on here was bang on, yes we are far from paupers, but we are not City, United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal Spurs that’s for starters, sorry 7580
6.) 19 Nov 2024 17:29:46
Joyful, I don't think Pogba is going to get £250-300k a week of anybody’s money let alone Sullivans, surely given the ban and his age he will need to lower his salary expectation? £150k per week for a 12 month contract, would that not work for both parties ….
7.) 20 Nov 2024 10:39:27
It all depends on which Pogba you get. The one with wings or the one with horns!
8.) 20 Nov 2024 13:37:24
I was using that huge salary as an example, if we look at Pogba, there may well be a club out there, willing to pay him a massive sum each week, football is unpredictable in that way, but that club won’t be WH, certainly under its present shareholding allocation.
if of course , that player becomes available for a much smaller wage, AND should, he want to join us, than it’s a different story, but the whole scenario is unlikely, that’s my own view, just to expand a little, if you had a fantasy situation where Haaland said I only want to play for WH, we could not pay him his present £ 440 k a week, even on.
A free transfer, think that shows where we are, we are not a small skint club, but we cannot compete with some others unfortunately, that’s the whole reason Steidten was brought in, to find a squad eventually, that doesn’t cost the earth, but is totally competitive,
9.) 22 Nov 2024 10:51:02
I appreciate Steidten is working on a 5 year plan but for me Pogba on a free shows more intention than Rodrigues on a free, who has been appalling and a backward step. I genuinely don’t think there is a club outside of Saudi that will pay Pogba anywhere near that amount of money. I still think we’ll come good (once the manager is moved on) but we need a short term injection similar to that which Lingard gaves us ….Pogba might just be it. Interesting thought though isn’t it?

Just watch the highlights of last night's win against Stevenage and I have to say there were some great goals and particularly pleasing build-up play.
O:2 regulars 1st half
0:3 youth 2nd half
Looks a promising base to build from.
1.) 23 Jul 2026 11:09:53
I've been following the U21s pretty closely for a while.
Orford is class.
2.) 23 Jul 2026 11:23:43
Agree. Our first-half senior players looked sharp, and the performances of the second-half youth were highly encouraging.
22 Jul 2026 17:15:22
Currently and excluding JWP, Todibo, Fulkrug and Cornet this is what we have in every position:
Hermandsen/Areola
AWB/KWP. Mav/Kilman. Diouf/Scarles
Potts/Souchek/Magassa/Kante/
Bowen. Lamadrid
Taty/Pablo
Assuming now nobody else needs to be sold I think we need 2xCB, I x creative midfielder, 2 wingers and another forward. The young youth keeper can be the 3rd keeper and 3 promotions from the youth.
The other 3 for a squad of 26. On this basis I make a number of observations:
1) The above named players are more than good enough to succeed in the Championship
2) None of them now need to be sold
3) I’m sure the 6 needed have already been identified and being worked on
4) There is absolutely no need to panic!
Imo we will be promoted! COYI.
1.) 22 Jul 2026 18:49:48.
Soucek may be six weeks away. Nuno has no trust in Kilman, and will only play him if there's nobody else, which is the current situation.
That leaves your squad at 14 players, hmmm. Many needed, I would say... Further to that, whilst no one else needs to leave, they may wish to leave up to September; that's a long time.
Over the last few seasons, promoted teams have averaged about 75 goals.
Who is going to score that many goals?
We certainly need creativity in mdf, maybe two attacking midfielders.
Definite Cb pairing, needed, tbh. I'm not sure about earthy Fearon, Myers, etc. Hope I'm wrong, we shall see.
For sure we need players in, we will have the money one way or another.
If WH don't get players in, we are not getting out of this division.
2.) 22 Jul 2026 19:11:59
Keep an eye on Golambeckis. Very highly rated young CB.
3.) 22 Jul 2026 20:53:24
No, Joyful, that leaves my squad at 16, as Kilman is unlikely to leave and therefore will still be part of the squad, and Soucek is out for 6 weeks, not the season. The point I'm trying to make is players will be bought, and with Sullivan and co gone, I'm more confident than ever they will be the right players.
There will be youth players in the squad to fill the gaps, as there were last season, no doubt about it. Whether they are capable is another matter. There is one way to find out.
4.) 22 Jul 2026 21:12:14
That's the worrying point!
5.) 22 Jul 2026 22:04:40
I just watched the game against Stevenage this evening. The first half featured a lot of the 1st team, who played okay. We were 2.0 up. After the break, all were replaced mainly by the youth team, with Kolembekis playing a lot of the game until he was taken off injured. He had a good game. The youth team were excellent, their ability to keep the ball and not needlessly give it away stood out. Some really good performances, namely Orford, Fearon, Ajala Bucart (can't remember the name properly).
I know it was pre-season and lower-league opposition, but Stevenage are not far off the Championship. So, I feel a lot of people's dismissive attitude towards the youth players is misplaced. Lots of people slagged off Kante last term when he first got a chance, and they were way off, as he looks a class player and played in the first half.
6.) 22 Jul 2026 22:32:28
I'm a bit caught between here, Hammer. I 100% want to see the youth given opportunities, but I think it needs to be very controlled, ie bringing them on with 15 mins left when we are 2-0 up. I don't think we should be over relying on them for sure, we need a squad capable of promotion, and blood the youth where we can.
7.) 22 Jul 2026 22:47:58
Evening Robbo, that was my point with the line up of the squad, where we're at now. Some of the youth will be needed due to the amount of games and squad size, but imo probably only about 3 or 4. There is no evidence that we're going to be over reliant on them.
I think the Championship is a much better opportunity to give them a crack than the PL is, so with them and the right (not rushed) purchases, I think we'll be in a good place to push on.
8.) 23 Jul 2026 06:02:20
Totally agree, Robbo, and in no way am I suggesting wholesale change, but we definitely need to give some of them a chance, because I definitely think there are a few there that can find a pass, like Fearon and Orford. I watched them a few times last season, and they weren't bad, but seemed much better yesterday.
Very well coached, I'd say. The other issue with youth, and in regards to the Championship, is physicality; they need to be able to handle themselves.
9.) 23 Jul 2026 06:22:21
The other player whose name I couldn't remember was Battrum, he was very good.
10.) 23 Jul 2026 08:05:44
I think our squad currently lacks pace and creativity.
Awb and Diouf have been linked away, and Mavro hasn't committed yet.
So at cb we will need 2-3, depending on Mav, as well as potentially 2 new full backs.
Golambeckis looks good, so hopefully his injury isn't too bad, but I do think most of the youth will start the squad as 3rd choice.
Orford looks far too good for youth football, but needs to make the step. He can do everything, but does get caught on the ball sometimes when he makes the step up.
He is capable of progressing the ball well, something our midfield currently lacks.
I think we need 2-3 wingers, and ideally 2 creative midfielders, an 8 and a 10.
Youth can take the pressure off a bit, with lots of games to play, but it is risky relying on them.
As for Battrum, when I've seen him play at youth level he's always been playing fb, but actually looked good in midfield last night.
11.) 23 Jul 2026 08:50:50
Forgot about striker also.
12.) 23 Jul 2026 11:48:04
I went to the game last night. During the first half, we played well within ourselves. During the second, Stevenage tired massively due to all the ball chasing they did.
Our squad is comfortably good enough to win the championship.
If Nuno can ship Cornet and Fulkrug away, then it'll be a pretty good pre-season.
We can't get rid of everyone, so Kilman and JWP will need to stay. Personally, I think JWP may be a key player this year.
13.) 23 Jul 2026 15:21:57
Knew you'd be buzzing to see JWP back. He may do a job, but he hasn't suddenly gained pace. If he does play, we need to hope he can actually play the ball forward in the Championship, but I have my doubts.
Have to disagree on our squad being comfortably good enough to win the Championship. It's unbalanced, injuries could exacerbate that more.
This isn't going to be easy.
Some teams will park the bus and fight for everything, some will get after us. We currently don't have the creativity to unlock defences, we also lack pace.
Squad needs a lot of work, we also need players with potential to step up if we do get promoted.
Am I missing something? Our only first choice winger is Bowen? And we are going to have extra games.
14.) 23 Jul 2026 20:12:58
I believe with the young players beginning to come through we 'should' have enough. Regarding JWP, he looks like a man who's had a good pre-season. Personally, thought he and Bowen were head and shoulders above everyone on the pitch last night. He is paceless, but he's always got goals... something we need.
15.) 24 Jul 2026 08:37:34
I'm personally not a JWP fan but will be delighted if he ends up having a stellar season! He might just be at the right level in the Championship, who knows. Good for us if it proves to be true.
16.) 24 Jul 2026 08:56:27
Maybe he found his level against League 1 opposition, but we will have to see how he does. He doesn't give the ball away easily, and he keeps it simple. I'll give him that; it's a shame he rarely passes forward, as that would probably negate the fact players run past him with ease.
Personally, I think Magassa, Potts, and Kante are all ahead of him.
I don't think those players will get bullied in the Championship. Then I'd rather see Orford and Fearon get opportunities instead of JWP.
Bowen's corners have been quality, so we aren't desperate for his set pieces.
The main thing that midfield is missing is creativity and someone to progress the ball.
03 May 2026 11:31:04
Joyful
Question for you buddy. With one eye on the Championship (reluctantly), Ipswich have returned straight away by not making wholesale changes to their team.
Which of our players could possibly stay and help us get out at 1st attempt? I know a fire sale could happen and Fernandes and Bowen would definitely leave, but what about the others? What could our starting 11 look like in August?
1.) 03 May 2026 13:54:18
The basis of the defence, i.e. Mavropanos and Todibib, assuming Disasi stays at Chelsea. If Djouf is wanted by Man Utd, then that brings Scarlet back ?. Not the starting reckoning, Walker Peters has looked good.
Midfield, I would hope Soucek would stay. Fernandez goes, Bowen, he's not been himself in the last half dozen games, also goes, which means Traore stays. Alvarez comes back into the reckoning as a battling midfielder.
Taty and Pablo, and I would hope Wilson would stay.
Of the youngsters, Potts, Kente and Oxford would come into the side, along with Gelonbedes, excuse the spelling if I've got it wrong, who has a really good long throw.
Probably lose one of the goalkeepers, and probably Areola. No doubt there are others to come in through the season. With Bowen gone to Liverpool, then Soucek becomes captain to give the Nolan effect.
2.) 03 May 2026 14:14:13
I think it would depend on wages. The top earners will definitely go if we can shift them. Players like Cornet and JWP will really hamstring any rebuild, as no one is stupid enough to want them.
3.) 03 May 2026 16:37:13
I think one good thing, if that were to happen, is JWP and Cornet would have their wages halved, so not sure. Hopefully JWP will find it too difficult to live on 50K per week and have to look elsewhere. ?
14 Mar 2026 22:03:44
Wow! What a performance!
11 Feb 2026 22:19:16
All the results have gone in our favour tonight guys! ?
1.) 12 Feb 2026 05:58:22
Haven't they just. And forest sack another manager. If wolves play like that when they come play us, it will be a massacre
2.) 12 Feb 2026 06:42:54
Two managers sacked the same day, all because we started winning lol ? ?
3.) 12 Feb 2026 09:28:04
I think both clubs are in total and utter disarray Mac and at the wrong end of the season. There is a huge opportunity to leapfrog both and push for safety over the next few weeks ….I’d be resting a few on Saturday against Burton for sure ?
4.) 12 Feb 2026 09:56:07
I can see spurs attracting a decent manager but Forest I’m not sure. I know they have European football but who would want to deal with their chairman. I am a bit gutted because I think Dyche is an awful manager and would have been better if he stayed in place
5.) 12 Feb 2026 10:24:42
Definitely agree with resting a few of them for the cup v Burton. Would like to see fringe players along with a few of the academy boys. Maybe also try Magassa at the back for it to test if that's an option? Or try Golambekis (not sure it i spelt it correctly) Because cannot rely on Kilman for another minute this season!
6.) 12 Feb 2026 10:43:45
Morning HD, Chris
I think it’s the wrong time for both to sack their managers, I don’t see manager bounce back helping either or even happening. One club has more toxicity in it than we even have and the other has a megalomaniac owner running the club on fear. We have a fantastic opportunity to get out of this mess and rebuild in the summer. We also need to build on Tuesdays atmosphere in the ground which was electric!
As for Saturday I’d actually play Kilman as unless Steidten was an idiot or a freud there must be a half decent player still in there. The guy is devoid of any confidence and maybe a good performance against a lower level team will bring it out of him. I’d be amazed if he doesn’t start on Saturday. We need the whole squad to get us over the line including MK

Did you go to the game Dabber or did the atmosphere really come across on the TV? Because I know the LS is often maligned and rightly so but when it goes off, it really works.
Id like to see Kante given a run out and maybe the guy with the lithuanium sounding name.
Is Daniel Cummings fit and worth a try?
I would give Killman another try as we are stuck with him for the moment and a threadbare coverage in that position so need to try and build his confidence back gradually

Magassa Traore Walker-Peters Wilson Scarles Kilman Areola; these 7 need to start v Burton.

Most of these should start, can’t see why not?

Hi HD, I watched the game from the armchair but the atmosphere really came across well. My son was watching with me and said he’d never seen the LS appear so vibrant!

I think you can be a realist and still have pessimistic or optimistic leanings. You seem like a really good bloke, Joyful, and I always welcome your posts on the players we're looking at, as it gives me someone to google. In fact, I constantly drop in on here to see who you've named dropped. You do seem to head up a bit of a Gloom Platoon, though, that can't wait to read negativity into situations that are not unique to WHUFC. Die 4 summed up the current situation perfectly, no need for me to repeat it.
The only time to be negative, imo, is when things are actually s***, not when people predict they will be s***. Plenty of time for players to come in, new owners and investors, and the loyalty of the Captain... lots to be excited about and look forward to. If the reality ends up being different, so be it, but nobody wants to look into the crystal ball and be told of their impending doom all the time. Come on, chill out, Gloom Platoon. ?

Hi Joyful, I was thinking more in terms of the leeches taking up squad places. If we can't move them on, they're going to be given squad numbers and expected to be available to play. Todibo, for example, if he doesn't move, we are unlikely to purchase Harry Soutar, etc., just to have one of them leech wages.
Sadly, we have leeches in a number of positions: Todibo, Fulkrug, Alvarez, Cornet, and until they're moved on, surely that delays buying in to replace them, just in case we fail to move them on? I might be clutching at straws.

Guys, I totally understand the frustration, but there must be an underlying reason why the purchases aren't being made. My guess is that it's either the situation with the Gold shares, or the having to remove the leaches from the squad before additional funds and squad places are filled. I'm sure there is very little sleep being got by the top table at the moment.

He was indeed poor, but there were pluses (not from him, agreed). Your argument could be more balanced, joyful rather than I told you so. I don't think anybody disagrees that we need more signings, that's obvious. The thought process behind many is to not just panic buy.
I agree that Rangers are the equivalent of a decent Championship side, and for a lot of the game we made them look inferior. I agree we looked weak in the final 3rd and that surely will be addressed.

Markro, I was going to post something this morning about agents and then saw your post. I totally agree with you, the whole problem with transfers and delays in the transfer window is caused by agents! Why can't we have a world where clubs deal with clubs, and then players agree terms with clubs? You sign the contract, then stay put until somebody offers you and your club more money to join them.
Is that too much to ask for? Agents are slowly but surely killing the game.

Personally, both of them in partnership. If that isn't feasible, either is sooo much preferable to B&S...

I think you are bang on the money, Rob. I think it's holding up purchases. Where my rose tinted glasses come in though is that it benefits none of these investors for us to stay in the Championship, therefore you'd hope that sensibility would prevail and somebody would sanction purchases or add to the war chest.

If Kretinskys shares go over 51% he automatically has to make an offer to purchase all of the other shares in the club making him the only investor. It has just been reported that he has just cleverly sold 2% of his shares to an associate leaving him with 25%. He can now purchase all of the Gold shares which would give him 50.1% but not trigger the clause making have to buy all shares outright.
Apologies if any of this info is incorrect but I'm fairly sure its right. I like Stavely but it would be messy having her consortium, DK and the poison dwarf. DK and Stavely majority shareholders would surely be our best outcome ultimately.
04 Aug 2026 10:00:33
Identifying suitable players is one thing, negotiating deals that satisfy selling club, players and agents is vastly another. You must know that, from speaking to your agent mates, Joyful?

I have to say selling Potts for 10m then buying Peck for 10m doesn't make much sense, Mac. We have to believe there is a bigger strategy being played out behind the scenes. The power tussle won't be helping matters, but it only helps Stavelys consortium if we stayed down, all the other shareholders will want promotion.
We have 4 weeks yet and bought Fernandes at the last minute last year and he integrated fine. Keep the faith, matey.
