Hi Joyful.
I know you tend to keep yourself to player dealings but I wondered if you have any info regarding DOF. Like most, it has seemed like a great week and a real feeling that we are almost rid (or will be soon) of most of the rotten apples at the top. But we are hearing a lot of talk, much of which I’m sure is either true or we hope it is true. But hearing on other sites that we had a done deal for the former Newcastle DOF only to hear that this is not happening.

I don’t want to start the old pessimism again but all the stuff about DOF, player retention, Coach re-hiring, new stadium, new training facilities. None of this is actually set in stone or done deals. We are used to getting our hopes up only for them to be dashed. We’ve generally stopped believing anything coming out of the club. Do you think things are genuinely different this time?

Yup, looks like Nickson joining Wrexham. It may be, just maybe something to do with a Staveley approach? Can't say

Although we were expecting a ton of problems following Sullivan's exit, nothing bad has happened so far, Kretinsky has got a grip.

Kretinsky is no fool, he's in charge now, so we fans have to have faith, things don't always go smoothly, especially for West Ham

Next two weeks are going to tell the story, let's see what happens.

2.) 21 Jun 2026 09:57:44
One week to go until fixtures are announced and still no Director of Football. Nickson off to Wrexham, so who next, I wonder.

{Ed001's Note - you have signed that Venezuelan/Colombian lad though, Keiber Lamadrid, even without one. I wonder who decided it then without a DoF?}

3.) 21 Jun 2026 11:14:39
Kerim Verani, Mark Noble, Nuno, 950k gamble! It was ok'd by Kretinsky.

4.) 21 Jun 2026 11:59:01
Great Question Ed001! Who is making these decisions, KREZYNSKI?

Surely he is far too busy to be involved in player transfers?

{Ed001's Note - I wish I knew the answer mate.}

5.) 21 Jun 2026 15:44:24
I've given the answer.

08 Jun 2026 07:48:30
The news seems to be getting even better as it seems Sullivans' kids don’t want to play any role in West Ham and Sullivan will be selling his shares. If this is the case, I suppose DK buys them. Some of us have been critical of him for not actually helping West Ham financially in the past.

But I would be much more happy knowing the Sullivan dynasty no longer have anything to do with West Ham. At least DK will try and run the club in the proper modern way in which most teams in the upper echelons do. Rome wasn’t built in a day but if true this is great.

KRETINSKY said he wouldn't put no money in while SULLIVAN was majority shareholder he's a very quiet man we've basically not heard a peep out of him in 2 years but he's a very powerful man hopefully he buys the predator out otherwise amanda shelvey is very interested how true is this please Ed?? ⚒️⚒️⚒️

{Ed001's Note - Staveley has been interested in a while, but she stepped away after finding out about the programme. She didn't want the issues for her clients which may stem from it as Sullivan would not sell up completely then. Knowing her, she will be back now to step up in with an offer to buy him out. She wanted a full buyout of his shareholding from the start, as her and her clients want a majority shareholding.}

Has anyone heard any rumours regarding the board about to crumble? I watched a video on another site and they were quite guarded about what they were saying. Rightly so as if the info would be false then I imagine the club could take legal action. So I wouldn't expect anyone to put their neck on the line or say anything that could cause this website issues.

But what they would say is that in the next couple of weeks the whole house of cards is going to come tumbling down. I just wondered if others had heard anything similar or if they knew if there was any thrush in these rumours

It's probably connected to the public release of the club's annual accounts. Allegedly, they are a disaster.

2.) 27 Feb 2026 15:41:43
I thought they were due to be published today, which I've heard are a disaster. But also read that Brady is not leaving, so probably yet more false nonsense generated to get the hopes up.

3.) 27 Feb 2026 17:29:11
She's leaving.

4.) 01 Mar 2026 05:42:13
Why have we got Hermansson in goal? It's clear Areola has upset turkey teeth.

5.) 01 Mar 2026 16:11:37
Ewell56, Yes, why did we have Hermansson in goal? Areola is far superior, imo, despite what other posters think on here! Nuno bloody baffles me. I don't rate him at all, and I'm glad to see the back of him when & if he eventually goes.

Everything crossed for Wednesday. Chance of some point(s) there to catch up on Forest, who are away to City. Hopefully not much for Forest there, so 3 points could see us out of the bottom 3. ? ? ? ? Coyi ⚒ ⚒ ⚒ ⚒

6.) 05 Mar 2026 07:20:30
Hermansen played a blinder last night.

7.) 05 Mar 2026 10:47:03
I think everyone was convinced we were going down a couple of months ago. At least there is some hope now.

8.) 05 Mar 2026 11:26:16
Morning, TL. He played really well, and is certainly a more calming influence on the defence. He was the only one to keep a clean sheet as well.

9.) 05 Mar 2026 14:07:15
Afternoon, Dabber. I am an Areola fan, but I must say that those two saves Hermansen made last night were simply superb. Maybe he just needed confidence? He certainly looked a safe pair of hands. Well played, lad.

10.) 05 Mar 2026 17:12:28
CheezyQuaver, interesting login name. I worked for Smiths Crisps from about 1971 to 1974 as a van salesman, as we were called at Smiths for the launch of Quavers. I am now 81. ?? ⚒⚒⚒⚒

According to C&H Disaster is signing on loan till the end of season! Oh well by all accounts he is dreadful but I suppose we have to hope he turns out to be not so bad. A bit like what happened with Dawson. But somehow I doubt that.

1.) 29 Jan 2026 21:13:28
He was a shoe in, first WH where the only club, to pay his wages in full (78k a week ) , and second it’s the other side of London

Danger here is if he plays well? and we stay up, WH might be tempted to buy him, hhmmmm, we shall see how this develops, we, must not make pre judgement's

2.) 29 Jan 2026 21:38:03
I recall him being quite good at Monaco around 2022-23. Stood out in a few of the Euro games I saw. Don't know what's gone wrong at Chavski but I hope he can get back to that Monaco form for us

3.) 30 Jan 2026 08:54:15
Not enough game time kills, footballers full stop

25 Jan 2026 08:28:49
I know this topic has been mentioned before and nothing will change before the end of the season. But looking beyond this season, we have talked about our skipper issue and the general consensus is Bowen is no skipper and of all the names mentioned Souchek seems the most obvious but is not a certainty to start each match. With the last two performances and especially the first halves and the absence of Paqueta I would argue Fernandez has emerged as an excellent choice.

I know he is only young, but feel he has maturity beyond his years and if we miraculously avoid relegation and we stay up I would argue it would be a potential carrot to get him to stay at the club and build the team around him. Because the big clubs will be coming in for him at season's end.

Sky Sports News reporting Amanda Shelvly is about to buy most or all of the Gold families 25% of the shares.

Who knows she might bring Eddie Howe along too. ?

Eddie Howe would be a good shout for us.

26 Jul 2026 18:02:15
Did anyone have the misfortune to watch the Rangers game? An absolute snorefest.
We couldn’t string 2 passes together. The only people who performed okay IMO were Tatty, Bowen and Lamadrid. Pablo seemed not only incapable of playing but unable to stay on his feet if even breathed on by anyone.

Kante passing was poor and Killman still seems incapable of winning a header jumping against opposition much shorter than him. The list goes on. 90 minutes of my life will never get back. Can anybody be a bit more positive please?

Hammer-D

1.) 26 Jul 2026 18:15:12
I switched it off after 60 mins, but it is only a preseason game. They never seem to be great indicators of anything, win, draw, or lose.

2.) 26 Jul 2026 18:23:02
Likewise. When I managed to get it working lol. ?

Not the best advert for footie. We definitely miss a creative attacking midfielder, and Im not sure why Pablo was on the pitch....terrible.

But, pre season and players wont give 100%.

3.) 26 Jul 2026 18:24:11
Maybe he has found his level and is gaining some confidence.

4.) 26 Jul 2026 18:33:13
I have to say I've tried giving Pablo the benefit of the doubt, but my patience is running thin. A great description of him on C&H, he looks like someone who has ended up playing simply because someone got a last minute injury and he was called on to make up the numbers.

5.) 26 Jul 2026 18:37:36
Pablo is poor. See how he goes this year, but if we go up he has to go. Just walking pace isn't good enough anymore. I think there's potential for Kante to do well. Lamadrid seems a good player. I personally thought Bowen was poor. Listen, it's pre season, a couple of weeks to go. I mean we need some signings. Timing in.

6.) 26 Jul 2026 18:40:34
I thought JWP was the best of a bad bunch. The rest had no pace, no movement, no passion, nothing. No, I don't particularly like JWP, but at least he gave his all. The others looked disinterested and like they were just there for a kick about.

Dreadful game, if I guess you could call it, football. God help us in Champ if that was anything to go on.

7.) 26 Jul 2026 19:10:09
Unfortunately, we have many supporters who, for reasons I fail to understand, think, or thought, that West Ham were a shoe-in for this division

I have tried to warn our fans that this is definitely not so.

Many people think I'm on my own in thinking we are not good enough; well, at this time, we are not good enough

If we don't do the business, this will finish as a poor season. I'm sticking to my opinion.

8.) 26 Jul 2026 19:56:05
Pessimists can either say, "I told you so," or be pleasantly surprised.

Those of us a tad more optimistic can either be relieved or disappointed.

It'll all come out in the wash.

9.) 26 Jul 2026 20:07:29
Just depends on what they do next three weeks, do nothing, nothing will be the result.

10.) 26 Jul 2026 20:08:00
Markro, once again, you are the total voice of reason. It wasn't a great game, and we definitely need new blood in, but I'm sure the hierarchy sees that. Pablo wasn't good at all, and maybe we are kidding ourselves; he may come good, but I actually thought JWP and Kilman both played alright.

Mav looked assured, and Hermansen had one of his best games, and looks like one of the best passers from the back. To be honest, I'm starting to find this preachy "I told you so" attitude a bit boring and patronising now.

11.) 26 Jul 2026 20:36:39
Dabber, I'm with you and Markro in the general optimism about everything surrounding the club and how we will do in the upcoming season. I definitely don't think us getting promoted will be a cakewalk, but I do think we will do far better at the end of the season than many are predicting. These friendly games, I tend to look at as individual entities, and it was awful.

It just felt that the whole midfield was played in unnatural positions, and things just weren't gelling. I will say JWP did seem a lot better than when we have seen him the last few years; there wasn't the facing-forward, receive-the-ball, automatic handbrake turn 90 or 180 degrees and pass backwards or sidewards.

12.) 26 Jul 2026 22:20:31
Evening HD, I don't think it will be a cakewalk either, buddy, but we do have a lot to be optimistic about. If we get to the end of the transfer window, having not bought anybody, I'll be absolutely amazed.

Deals are not done easily, and those that are tend not to be good ones. Having seen how Kretinsky has handled the sales, why would the purchases be any different. Keep the faith, my friend. ?

13.) 27 Jul 2026 18:30:03
It was a pre-season game, so, no injuries is the first port of call.
I think we learnt that the youngsters are nowhere near close enough to the first team. Many on here have an obsession with Kante, yet he never looks like he's going to do anything.
I think we have 2 problems: pace in central midfield, and what to do with Pablo - if he cannot score against Southend - he won't score in the Championship.

I wonder if it is worth trying him in central midfield, similar to what Newcastle did with Joelinton.
Keeping Taty will be key to promotion.
Personally, I think we will win the Championship comfortably. Nuno scored 91 points when he was relegated with Wolves - and they had an inferior squad.

14.) 27 Jul 2026 21:04:48
Pablo in midfield would be a calamity. Joelinton can actually carry the ball and is quicker, has a better first touch, and is a better passer than Pablo, not that it's hard.

Go check Wolves' squad back then; they were miles ahead of ours.

Neves, Boly, Docherty, Diogo Jota, Coady, Saiss, to name just some. Our squad has gaping holes in it. No pace, no creativity, and it's unbalanced.

15.) 27 Jul 2026 21:26:53
Brooking, my old mate, I just don't know what you're watching. We are short all over.

12 Jul 2026 14:24:19
Hi all
I know this ain’t the most popular with many. But did you see the England game yesterday? I wondered what people’s thoughts are regarding Thomas Tuchel's comments after the game saying we were rubbish and got lucky even though we have just qualified for a WC semi-final.
I wasn’t keen on Tuchel getting the job and don’t agree with some of his decisions but he has gone way up in my estimation after the post-match interview.

I think it is really refreshing that someone says it as it is. I appreciate what Bellingham said that the players need to take some credit, whilst true to hide from the performance by the result alone is foolhardy. Let’s hope they can go on and possibly lift the trophy.

Hammer-D

1.) 12 Jul 2026 20:17:08
I am no Tuchel fan, but he said England were sloppy - they were. He said they were lucky - they were. Can't see anything wrong in what he said. Bellingham's comment of "maybe he doesn't know what it's like to play in those conditions" was a bit stupid.
I don't think Tuchel said England were rubbish. He just said they need to play better.

2.) 13 Jul 2026 06:25:44
Yeah, I was paraphrasing: the message was we weren't great, which I feel is refreshing rather than the standard tripe that managers like Southgate and Sven would trot out.
I can understand why Bellingham would protect his team mates, but the commentator was out of order because, before they had actually spoken to each other, he conveyed the message to Bellingham was "the boss ain't happy with you." Yet, they have just qualified for a World Cup semi final, not many can say that.

It seems Paco is not to return if reports are true.

It will be interesting to see how we shape up without him and if he was the main reason for our upturn in form last season.

Sorry Joyful, I don't totally agree. I do agree that we lack pace, creativity, and a goalscorer, but I don't agree that a different manager would get the same results, especially someone like Howe. By the end of last season, Nuno had done more than enough for him to be dismissed, which is what I hoped for. But when all the Sullivan stuff broke and DK seemed to have a plan to revive the club, and one of his first decisions was to cement Nuno in place, I thought it best to be supportive. Over the intervening time, we now see that DK has no plan, and we are saddled with a dreadful manager and a major shareholder with no plan.

Many said that the upturn in our form in the last third of last season was down to Paco's arrival, and we can now see that is probably correct, as we have reverted back to what we were before he came. We should win many more games this season as the opposition is far weaker, but if the friendlies are anything to go by, we won't, and a new manager and philosophy would greatly help.

IG, what I have heard is that it was solely a financial decision. Basically, as he has come out of the academy, outlay is zero, sale 10 million, therefore a profit on the player of 10 million, whereas with most of the others, JWP, Magassa, we could potentially make a loss.

I'm with you in that I would much prefer him to stay. He showed glimpses of being a really good player, although he did lose his way a bit. But he would be fine in the Championship. I get the feeling he doesn't see eye to eye with Nuno.
