Deal agreed with Solomon and Spurs, apparently, so some good news finally.

Despite his injury record, he got a few assists and goals to his name, and we needed to replace Summerville.

Get McNeil and Dele Alli added to the midfield, and it's looking better.

Como had the chance to sign him, as did Spurs, as did MK Dons! He has been less than impressive, don't know whether he's even fit.

This type of player, contracts as such are a no no, pay as you play agreement may work, WH need as many useful players as they can find, but, for me, not at present.

I know he didn’t have the same substance abuse issues, but we took Lingard who was in a similar place in his career and we helped him resurrect it, and he helped us to a good league position.
He then got greedy, and his career disappeared again. There are similarities tho.

Bamba Dieng, some might recall I mentioned his injury, he has two, knee the major one.

From what I now understand. He is unlikely to pass a WH medical.

However, ones with memories can recall that Kurt Zouma was waved through, after twice failing the medical. Moyes insisted, and for two seasons he was vindicated, turning into one of the best CBs we have ever had, before the injury returned and that was the end of Zouma.



My view:

WH may try a pay and play? As any club giving him a contract is in reality spinning a coin.


We are very short up front, can't see what harm can be done.

Alvarez, last night, WH received an offer from BVB Dortmund loan with option to buy, there was no mention of option price, no mention of loan fee, but they would pay his wages in full

If WH would agree they would discuss option price, but no loan fee.



WH turned it down.

Obviously the word has got around now, re. money problems, so some clubs seeking to take advantage.

Pablo up front completely useless, I wouldn't even play him. Better to play a midfielder behind Taty, more chance of scoring from a loose ball.

Whilst only results count, I think WH are in for some shocks and surprises this season.

He wanted 32 k a week plus load of bonuses, and signing on fee, that’s all gone by the board now.

He’s being realistic asking for 20 k plus a goals scenario, with time flying away, must be considered.

Agree, Mac, but it depends who you believe on Troy Parrott - don't think we need both, plus Pablo and Taty. Would rather Parrott for obvious reasons, but Dieng a good one for rotation. Championship is a long old season.

Troy Parrot has had one good season with AZ. Apart from that, his stats at all the Championship and League 1 level are terrible. I'd steer well clear if we did actually have money to spend.

Made enquiries over Manor Solomon, can’t see quite what WH are carping about.

Agreed fee £5 m up front, if WH are promoted first season then Spurs get 2.5 m by June 30th 2027.

What is wrong with that? He’s a consistent performer at our level, he will score 8/10, make loads of chances.



Where are we going to get that quality of winger elsewhere?

I read Spurs want 20m for Solomon. That's what Hull City have been quoted. The 5m is for a season loan.

I’m seeing leaked photos of Joel Veltman in a West Ham shirt, number 34 being leaked all over social media. Surrounded by a camera crew etc. It looks as if an announcement video will be out in the coming days.

Solid player, drops a 7/10 most weeks. Winds up the opposition, love it. Think it’s a great signing if true!

Apparently everything was agreed for Manor Soloman, but due to potential fan backlash the club have pulled the plug on the deal.

Probably will push for Adringa now.

It's the West Ham way, Joyful. No matter who is leading us, it seems to have been inherited over the years, and now we think it's normal to conduct business this way.

£25m for Arne Engles when we could have had Gus Hamer for £10m (who Coventry are now chasing), Hatate from Celtic £10m, and put the remaining £5m to good use.



Lamadrid out for 2 to 3 weeks as well.

I'd love to know what the strategy is, if there is one?

I'm beginning to doubt Engels. Too much money involved for one player, with the price plus all the extras involved. Whilst there are 25 days left in the market, we start playing in two days, and the market starts to change, as teams discover their strengths and weaknesses, ideas change. Teams cannot wait around till the last minute to be disappointed. Taking too long.

The strategy and the original plan went into the shredder 2 weeks after relegation.
Sullivans' demise brought out all the realities. Many people, including maybe Nuno, didn't previously have complete knowledge of.

Now becomes clear of the 200 m plus debt. WH still have £190 m of that owed on previous transfer business.

Transfers are paid off as normal, it’s just that £100 m of it is due this season.

WH were owed a large sum, believed to be around £100 m by other clubs.

Sullivan sold these outside debts at a large discount, believed 20%, to get cash, losing £20 m in the process.

Big loan facility was set up and taken. Long story, you get the picture, etc etc. That’s why we are where we are.

Edson Alvarez changed squad numbers to his preferred number 4. Might not mean much, but apparently he's said he would be willing to stay. Moves from interested clubs haven't yet materialised, id imagine clubs were wanting a bargain from us.

With Potts going, it makes sense to keep him.

It certainly does, however, there's a couple of clubs in Spain, Sociedad, Betis Seville among them, who may be planning a last throw bid at the end of this month, 7/8 m, to tempt Wh.

Iron.AI, Alvarez didn't change his number. He was number 4 last season as well (article about him changing number to his Mexico shirt number at the start of the 25/26 season on the official website).

Whoever originally reported it got it wrong.

Might be an old story, Kilman was fancied by Palace at one stage. At present, if we let Kilman go, someone has got to come in. I would be happy to see him off, depending on who's arriving.
