Fiorentina, make approach for Kante, WH are unsure about letting him go. Especially for a cheap price

He is seen as ideal for the championship by Nuno, after maybe a successful season, WH can reassess the position. ….. Joyfull

We've got to keep him - there is a v good player in there.

2.) 08 Jun 2026 18:21:15
Gotta keep hold of young players with potential like Kante. Fiorentina must see something good, so keep hold of him.

3.) 08 Jun 2026 21:10:22
I think it depends on what they can get for him. If it's 15mil, then he will be sold - which is fine if we can find another rough gem.

4.) 08 Jun 2026 21:52:42
I think it would be best to keep him and let him know he is to be a pivotal part of the team. We've seen too many decent young players not realise their potential with us, but go on to bigger and better things. We sold Diangana for about 18 million years ago, and he wasn't that good.

5.) 09 Jun 2026 08:18:19
Personally I don't see what most are seeing in Kante. Whenever he came on in Prem, he didn't exactly set it on fire. Also, everyone says we need to copy Brighton/Bournemouth model, well surely this is it? Turning a massive profit on someone who has barely played would be good imo.

Bowen! All WH players have relegation clauses in their contracts since 2019

This is without exception. If WH want to keeo certain players, and pay them more than the 50% wage deduction, which is automatic.

Then it’s a different matter, that is a negotiation, nothing to do with original contract.

No members of WH squad have get out clauses, exemptions or anything like that, it’s media nonsense.

Claretandblueman

1.) 08 Jun 2026 18:33:40
I agree Clareandblueman, we should pay more to keep players like Bowen.

Sullivan obviously has already seen tonight’s programme.

He has apparently engaged, the same KC he used in the Paqueta case and another that specialises in libel and defamation cases, Two KCs, Hmmm?

He intends to sue for millions. BBC best make sure they have their facts right

PSG. Have at last come in for Fernandes.

But, however, to the astonishment of WH, the player doesn’t want to go there!

He prefers Man Utd, which can make a problem. MU are presently stuck on £60 m inc add ons.

WH have turned it away, and are sticking to larger valuation. A big bid from someone else is needed to move this on.

Syd Peck, don’t get too nailed down on this one, Brentford and Forest, are in front of WH here. Basically it will come down to the following

Does the player want football or sit on the bench in the Premier.

Also they can pay more wages, so this is far from a done deal, it’s a possible, certainly not any more.

1.) 07 Jun 2026 12:36:31
Will any prospective ins / outs / appointments not be put on hold until the boardroom situation is resolved?

2.) 07 Jun 2026 14:40:52
Good shout, Tin. That would make sense at a lot of clubs who would be working hard on a director of football.

I can only think the lack of any movement in any direction is because of this Sullivan scandal.

3.) 07 Jun 2026 17:41:05
I'm concerned with the lack of news about share ownership. Maybe the FA might provide the solution after the broadcast of Panorama? In any case, we're moving in the right direction. ??

4.) 07 Jun 2026 19:30:54
Without trying to prejudge what allegations the Panorama program will highlight, and as I have heard various, I think with many of these types of scandals it is a case of getting the story out there and seeing whether others come forward with similar accusations.

So, if that were to happen, I would think he would be forced to sell his shareholding, as it may be deemed by the FA that he is not a fit and proper individual to be a major shareholder in a club.

Much has been trumpeted in regard to WH debt.

Whilst there is truth to the volume of debt close to £145 m. The sale of three maybe four players could easily clear £100 m.

For a club the size of WH to carry a debt of £40/50 m even in the championship is nothing.

WH will have a parachute payment, arriving of £45. M, which may be spent on players.

Spurs debts are now more than one billion. So I’m sure we a carry 5% of that !!

Well that’s it, 39 points. Another season keeps us up, but we lost our way in a lot of games I remember, too many.

You can turn and twist it anyway you want, but despite our win today, our position.

Shows just not good enough.

In another week we will begin to find out, the beginning of changes all the way round, my commiserations to everybody tonight joyfull.

Claretandblueman

24 May 2026 16:51:47
You have to ask yourself Whether we deserve to stay up?

We just don’t have the cutting edge required, it’s not over yet, but...

24 May 2026 10:50:34
Well here we are, final day of the season, perhaps final day in the Premier League (for now anyway).

We all hope that some magic happens, no matter what the odds against us are.

If at 6pm we are relegated, it won’t be this game, it will be the bad decisions, points lost from winning positions, bad VAR decisions, horrible team selection, etc.

If by some chance, we survive, just get drunk and forget about football for a week, you can be sure that’s exactly what Sullivan will do.

Good luck to all our WH people today. Joyfull

1.) 24 May 2026 11:16:24
Well said, Joyful, and can I just say thank you for your informative posts across the season(s). Always written in a non provocative and empathetic manner. Appreciate the info and effort mate. ??

2.) 24 May 2026 11:20:42
⚒⚒⚒ Well said C&B man, AKA Joyfull, which I don't think that you'll be feeling as your login name suggests when both games are finished. ? ? I am well resigned to the fact that we're the team going down, so it can only be elation for me. ? I am staggered; Spurs are in this position, bigger, better squad, but from many games past, when we've been ahead, the bloody manager tried to park the lorry for half the games, so we should never have been in this position.

Glad to see the back of him, hopefully. ? ? At my Daughters for a BBQ before the game, all Hammers there, then squeaky Bum time. ? ? COYI. ⚒⚒⚒⚒

3.) 24 May 2026 12:14:40
Cheers Joyful, I'm just off to the game now, more in hope than expectation. I know it will be nerve-wracking, but if we can't beat a team who have already got their flip flops on, then what hope have we got. We need the help of others. Either way, can't wait to see the end of the season. COYI ⚒️⚒️⚒️

4.) 24 May 2026 13:47:04
Joyful, and everyone else on here. I've just arrived at the ground, and there's lots of people around, and it's not usually this busy.
Whatever happens today, as long as we go out to win, that's all that matters, whether it's prem or championship next season. God and the Elizabeth Line willing, I'll be here.

22 May 2026 16:11:16
I don’t know where all these stories are coming from?

All the current WH squad without exception have the same relegation clause written into their contracts, 50% of current wage to be paid if we are relegated, this has been the case since 2019/2020

No players! Have get out clauses eg. To be sold on at a cheap price that was previously agreed, not true

Whatever the overall outcome, Sunday, if any player wishes to leave, it’s up to WH to obtain the best deal they can get, in the circumstance

As of 12 noon today

No deals of any kind have been agreed, on sales lots of talks.

Regarding certain players ok
Why not? That’s all
Equally WH have not agreed any deals, either on incoming players

Relegation clauses are standard practice, and are legally binding, irregardless of players, and agents demands

Unfortunately WH are in a poor position money wise, but because of the legal situation, they don’t have to sell players like Summerville for nothing, just silly talk, one article suggests, this player will be sold for £12 m, let’s see it!!!!!

If players want to leave, fair enough, they will……but not for the silly prices, that are. Currently being banded about Joyfull

1.) 22 May 2026 22:34:31
I think Southampton showed the way last season. If clubs want players bad enough, they pay for them. A few of our players could generate bidding wars, so let them go to the highest bidder.

Set a price and don't move from it, but we will.

Depends which way you look at things.
The players we are selling must come eventually to more than the current debt. Please remember, a portion of the debt is for outstanding owings on transfers; they don’t have to be paid off quicker just because West Ham dropped a division, and on many of the previous transfers there is no clause to close the debt off either, so West Ham will just continue to pay off previous transfers after a player has been sold on.

West Ham will receive £45 m parachute payment next month, so to be honest, I don’t see where the panic is!

If West Ham build a team out of cheap transfers and free transfers, they will be lucky to stay in the Championship! Never mind get promoted.

The jury is out for now, of course, let’s see... Joyfull.

It isn't that WH can't hold some players, it's the agents that are pushing their people to play in higher divisions, for bigger money, there's really no point in holding people against their wishes, which it will eventually boil down to.

WH are facing the fact that they are in a lower league, paying lower wages etc.

However, the wages they can still pay, and being in London, will to some extent help with younger players.

Make no mistake, it's going to be a task to get out of the Championship.

Hold steady Mac, Real nor Liverpool have done anything concrete as yet anyway, just paper talk, but it's exactly what WH need, and there is nothing to create a bidding war as yet. All it takes is one large bid, then away we go.

I am in no doubt player sales will achieve £100 m easily.

What is bothering me is the low level of targets WH are looking at; we won't be promoted with some of those people playing, that's for sure. Joyfull.

Hackney will not be coming to West Ham, unless we offer premier wages, and large bonuses, which is nigh on impossible.

The player already has three premier offers. And, at this time, Middlesborough are a well established top side in the Championship.

What on earth would he want to come to West Ham for?

West Ham passed on Hackney last winter for £20 m, a big mistake that was obvious to the majority of West Ham fans. One of many mistakes.

So, with the greatest of respect, forget about him. Joyfull

What's next is Sullivan has engaged two KCs, ready for defamation and libel cases. If it goes to court, it will be more than interesting. We shall see?

He has apparently
had a gagging order on this since last November. That's why this program has previously been postponed twice.

I'm away, so fill me in tomorrow. I will watch it on catchup when I return.

Greetings from Norway. Where I'm with some Norway Hammers,
The good news is (if it's true?) Sullivan's sons are not, and don't want to be involved with West Ham, that, for me, is more important than Sullivan resigning, so there's no continuity.

There's no question that Kretinsky would like someone to come and buy out Sullivan, otherwise he would have to buy him out.

You cannot have someone with large share holdings dictating the situation, and not be personally involved. That just doesn't work. No doubt the next few weeks will tell the story.

Window doesn't open, but deals have already been done elsewhere, to be announced 15 June. No need to wait for a couple to leave. West Ham have deposit monies, need to start moving, we have a little, but need to start player ins pronto.

Wolves, Burnley, Boro have their teams at 95% readiness. Soton and a few others are at 80%. It's very difficult to create a team quickly, but if we don't, you can forget any chance of getting back next season. We cannot give others a head start.

Yes! Is the short answer. I have already said he has been promised a top-up bonus to equate his Premier wage if we go back up at the first attempt. If we don't, he doesn't get the bonus, and I doubt he will keep his job anyway.
