Are we getting a defender in? What's the crack with cresswell?

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 31 Aug 2025 19:55:30
All waiting to see what happens tomorrow

2.) 31 Aug 2025 21:29:29
Please Cresswell and not Harwood-Bellis, one scored at the weekend, the other was relegated, with a large number of our other signings. We are West Ham not Southampton 2.0

30 Aug 2025 10:21:38
Tell me there's no truth in morinhio being our next manager (or however you spell it) just seen on transfer rumour site that he's favourite, got to be a joke surely.

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 30 Aug 2025 10:39:56
I hope so, or another disaster beckons

2.) 30 Aug 2025 10:42:49
More than likely Forest if Santo gets the bullet

3.) 30 Aug 2025 10:46:39
Biggest WH joke is Potter,

4.) 30 Aug 2025 11:05:21
I wouldn’t bet against it, although don’t think Sully would enjoy working with such a strong character. Wouldn’t rule out a deal to the end of season to see how they get on, similar to Moysie’s deal

5.) 30 Aug 2025 11:28:11
Oh God, please no.

6.) 30 Aug 2025 11:30:52
Would you take santo?

7.) 30 Aug 2025 12:18:50
I would take Santo but don’t think it would be a long term appointment. He would be the best of a bad bunch mentioned so far. I would like to see Posticoglu but could also see that ending bad with our current squad. I and others have mentioned Xavi which be great but I can’t see him wanting to come

8.) 30 Aug 2025 12:58:59
Poach Will Still. His blood is claret and blue.

Talk going around about grealish being a real possibility. I know this will probs get shot down people who no more than me, but just saying what I've read

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 18 Jul 2025 12:33:46
NO I’m not going to shoot it down, per se, I just don’t see how it’s funded, WH at present have around 480 k a week spare for. Wages, after taking WP and Diouf into account, if WH take Grealish, even assuming M City waive the loan fee, and pay young Jack 290 k a week, it leaves WH with 190/200 k a week in balance to cover all other future incomings, midfielders, striker etc, of course others may be moved on and their wages saved, but at present, without a Man City subsidy, just doesn’t stack up, doesn’t sit right,

26 May 2025 11:28:47
Just read that West Ham are interested in Jack Grealish to replace Paquetá. My god let this be true, a lot of people don't like the guy but personally I think he's a top player. He should never have gone to city in my eyes, now I have no idea if the rumour is true and I will probably get shot down by people who know far more than me, but for me I would love to see this happen.

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 26 May 2025 12:43:50
I can’t see Grealish wanting to come to us to play for Potter, he’d probably go back to Villa.
If we did manage to buy him at least that would mean it might be us that get the free kicks from him constantly throwing himself on the floor from the slightest of touches from a defender. That is probably why pep doesn’t play him. He has a lot of talent for sure but that side of his game does really let's him down.

2.) 26 May 2025 16:17:05
He would blow our wage structure out of the water.

3.) 26 May 2025 19:18:56
I’ve also heard it could be a loan which would be better financially, why shouldn’t we be a little ambitious, he wants to get back into the England squad so wants to play for a team that will play him.

Is there any truth in these "American investors" worth billions looking to set up a consortium and approach to takeover West Ham?
Please Ed if you ever give me one piece of good news please let this be it ??

Whitbyhammer1

{Ed001's Note - that actually may be true, there is certainly some American investors trying to put together a consortium with the intent of buying a Premier League club. I don't know which club, or even if they have one particular club decided yet, but there is defo a group. A family friend was approached about joining, but he won't tell me any more than that. I do believe he is interested, even though he is not a football fan, simply because of the potential returns - not just in money, but also the ability to woo business when you have a part-ownership. It is a bit like playing golf in the business world, but a level or two up in status.}

1.) 10 May 2025 10:07:46
Is it just the Gold families shares they are looking to buy which is 25.1%, if so then Sullivan will still be the majority shareholder.

Just watched MOTD this morning we looked good going forward with the few clips they showed of us, but how deep we were after 2-1 was a joke. Ma rip Amos for the first was at fault he looked at the scorer and left him for the cross, but nuno how can u think u can just ram a load of defensive players on and hold.

He's done it too many times now, he's cost us so may points. We need to bring a couple of defenders in 100%. Kilman is shocking, mavripanos is full of mistakes

I've said it so many times, I love Bowen, who doesn't, but a captain he ain't, club captain yes maybe, team captain no. Whe QPR scored the camera went to him as we were setting to kick off and nothing if it was me or any of you, you would getting into the lads or encouragement or both, but nothing because he's not that type of character, and not only that I think it's not helping his game, he looked knackered towards the end of the 90, I feel a burnout out coming on and then we will be screwed. You need someone, 1. That can see the game from deeper, like a sitting midfielder or CB, and 2. Someone with influence, grit and someone that will tear a strip of you or give it to you but at the same time respect you.
Don't get me wrong I'm not a pro player but I've played locally from 16 - 34 in the blokes leagues round where we are, I played for three clubs and each one had a captain like what I just said it should be, and I would play my heart out for him, u til I got to about 26 at the last club I played at, when they made me captain and I was a bit like Bowen, and I learned that u can't be, u have to be vocal u have to be harsh.

You have to encourage, but I had a few older heads with me and that was the key for me. I know it's sounds daft but it's probably the same for loads of others who have been there growing up. Players crumble under the pressure of playing their game and leading the team, some are born with it some adapt and overcome it, unfortunately some don't get it and it ruins them. I know the next question at me is well who else is there? Well I don't really know, and the only one I can think of is souchek but we all know there's better players that should start before him. Going back a couple of seasons, we should have kept him and it should have been Dawson if he still had it in him. But for Bowen sake we need to find another captain. Long post and sorry for it. ⚒️⚒️

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 12 Jan 2026 13:23:38
I watched Soucek yesterday. He played well and encouraged his teammates. He is captain material and if he’s still with us, if we are in the Championship, he gets my vote for the captaincy. The big and insurmountable problem with him is that he is obviously not a Premiership player. He’s just not good enough. Yesterday was proof of him being at Championship level at best.

14 Dec 2025 16:20:23
Shocking. Just shocking. Why so deep all the time why sit back all the time, it's heartbreaking to watch players like Fernandez and Summerville restricted like they are, they should be let loose

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 14 Dec 2025 17:06:51
Paqueta held onto the ball for too long for Villas second goal, why didn’t he just clear it up field, he thinks he’s better than what he is.

2.) 14 Dec 2025 17:30:25
Should have been hooked for Wilson after that. Made to think about and then threaten their back line. Team much improved but Nunos subs/timing is poor

22 Nov 2025 18:38:17
Why play so deep with those conditions. We proved first half a ball up top with that wind and your in. Far too deep second half, Nuno should no better . Guilherme unfortunately isn't good enough. We were lucky to get a draw.

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 22 Nov 2025 21:44:30
Ariola was outstanding today. Think the defence played really well, they battled. Just got home.

2.) 23 Nov 2025 12:51:13
I think that’s our keeper situation sorted out, if he plays like that we don’t need another keeper

24 Oct 2025 19:09:09
Still don't understand the line up, no striker, and Irving and soucheck in the middle even tho they were shocking, why no Potts, Scarles was poor last time out aswell. I would be giving Wilson a start, paqueta needs to be number 10, this has massive banana skin written all over it again.

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 24 Oct 2025 19:52:41
3 at the back could free up Diouf and summerville down the left. Midfield pairing of Irving and soucek is shocking though, I wouldn't be surprised if they get outclassed, outfought and overpowered by a championship Midfield.

2.) 24 Oct 2025 20:06:39
Soucek and Irving again. Has Nuno learnt nothing?

3.) 24 Oct 2025 20:07:00
oh there we go 1-0 Lids 3 minutes lmao!

4.) 24 Oct 2025 20:31:36
WTF is Nuno playing at? It certainly ain’t West Ham football. It’s got to be said — this bloke is beginning to look like a complete dick.

{Ed025's Note - less of the bloke please TL..

Surely if we go down he has to sell up, in an ideal world we manage to stay up and prick sells up anyway, hate the bloke with a passion. How does he sleep at night knowing he’s the most hated man by anyone who follows our club, maybe even by people further afield, fans from all walks of life, and fans from a. Lot of other clubs think it’s disgusting what he’s done to our club.

I’m not into all this back and forth at each other but I’m glad JWP has gone, I personally think he ain’t prem quality anymore. But what I will say is if the troll doesn’t spend money on replacement, be it defense or midfield I think he’s lining up to get out should we fail to stay up, if we do stay up he will come running on his Brady’s back I mean his steed chucking a bit of money about shouting we have this club at heart…….

Bollocks

Mate there were two players that stood out in a real bad performance, and it wasn’t paqueta, he was terrible. For me he needs to go

Worst I’ve seen them play for a while, wan bisaka n Summerville best players everyone else was shocking. I was ready to leave at 79 mins but father in law kept me there until 80, terrible, bad selection to be fair but I don’t think it matters, it’s the players that aren't performing at all. They will get another manager sacked.
