Just got back from the West Ham U21 vs Colchester game. I know it's a friendly and players were rested, but none of the players tonight are good enough to step up. Earthy, Mayers, Orford and Casey didn't play tonight. All seem to have been promoted to the first team now and won't play U21 again. So maybe Nuno is relying on youth? Most of the team is good, but I was hoping maybe Cummings or Landers would show me more than just being a handful tonight.
Both were pretty average despite a goal from Landers.
Overall, I think the club need a few signings because we don't have the depth in the squad but I am still very excited for what's coming this season!

I've not seen him, but heard that Cummings isn't all that good, which is a shame, as I think he was thought of as a future star.

Unfortunately true, we do not have an array of good young players. This is why we need people in. In fact, this has been obvious for some time.

I heard the same about Cummings. He is a strong lad who put himself about, but there just isn't anything special that I saw. The Championship would be a step too far, I think, for him.
What I don't seem to understand is why we don't try and get the biggest prospects from the Championship and progress with that.
Bowen, for example. We are one of the biggest clubs in that league, surely players will want to come to us, knowing we should be going to the Premier again? So take other teams' best players. Why don't we use our status to our benefit for once! Play like the top 6 do!

What worries me is that people here think it's almost a done deal that we'll get promoted. I don't think it's going to be a cake walk. Yes, we're a big club, but escape from the Championship is famously difficult. I think we'll do it, but it's no certainty. Every game will be a cup final.

Starting to get nervous already before a huge weekend. Can't see Spuds getting 3 points but we will have to play outstanding imo to beat a very good Brentford team.
But if we win, and Spuds lose, I will begin to believe we might be ok! Just...

Think Leeds winning today is a good thing for us. They look safe now, so the last game of the season won't be much for them to play for.

The subs seemed strange to me. I wasn't there tonight, but it looked on tv like Fernandes was doing well and starting to get a foothold. Scarles never stops, walker Peters is useless and not premier league. Bowen is off form and looks tired.
HE IS NOT A LEADER. I thought Soucek was good. He battles like always. But someone like pacheta should be next to him to unlock defences but Nuno took him off! Surely he gets the sack now!? SURELY!?

Oz, agreed with everything you said until the bit about Paqueta. He offered nothing again and we looked better once he went off. The 2 new lads looked decent enough. Lady luck is definitely not with us and we will now go down

I agree regarding Pacqueta. Those around us thought it was strange subbing him. Pablo seems reasonable - he could be another Antonio, Taty couldn’t control a bag of sand.

Brooking, harsh summary of Taty imo. I thought he looked ok considering it was his debut. His passing looked good and he looked to close down and harry their defence a fair bit. Pablo also looked decent.
