Hi ed2,
Hope you’ve had a good Xmas. Wondered if you had any insight into targets for Pellegrini replacement please?
Thanks in advance.
{Ed002's Note - It will be David Moyes I would think - but I understand that Rafa Benitez was the clear first choice.}
1.) 29 Dec 2019 09:58:23
It don't matter who is new manager our club had the soul ripped away from us by dgs and until they go nothing will change . If its moyes i'm done. Our club died when the boleyn died.
2.) 29 Dec 2019 11:03:37
You need to get over the Boleyn, ground could not be upgraded and was knackered!
Fantastic atmosphere but we still regularly got beat there and relegated, Moyes did a job for us last time and installed discipline which is what we need now!
Pellegrini was there for £££, team is unfit and I would love to of seen training sessions if there were any.
3.) 29 Dec 2019 11:55:48
Thanks Ed2,
To be clear, did Benitez turn down an approach or is he just not available at this time?
{Ed002's Note - He is not available.}
4.) 29 Dec 2019 12:30:06
Get over the boleyn ground? Yeah right after going there for 60 years.
5.) 29 Dec 2019 16:29:55
Who wants to live in the same place for 60 years? We have to move onðŸ‘.
6.) 29 Dec 2019 16:45:46
It’s Moyes and Stuart and Pearce, I ain’t unhappy, COYI, at least they’re in touch with the Premiership hopefully⚒⚒COYI.
7.) 30 Dec 2019 08:10:47
Moyes will be a safe pair of hands who will get discipline back, obviously something Antonio requires. Papers saying Girond is his target for January, which will help Lanzini, Anderson, Antonio due to his hold up play, plus he’ll be better than Haller.
8.) 30 Dec 2019 08:32:00
Let’s face it, you know the players will have to put 100% in training especially with Pearce there, he’s not going to be messed about by babies!
He should demonstrate a few challenges himself on the players so they know what he’s expecting!
Now is the time to start bringing a couple of youth players in, Noble, and snodgrass haven’t got the legs anymore, as for Yarmolenko I would try and give him away as cannot see any takers for him, hope I’m proved wrong but IMO he is a luxury 10 min player who we do not need in team or the club. COYI.
9.) 31 Dec 2019 15:32:42
Haller is a simple one to improve, play 2 or 3 upfront!
His goals have come when being supported up top, one striker against 4 defenders is not going to result in goals and also knock confidence.
Sign Giroud who can hold the ball and bring Anderson or Antonio into the attack and he will score goals!
Our biggest concern is a box to box midfielder, noble and snodgrass not upto that so bring one in to let rice move forward!
Central defence is another we are desperately short, we needed a Cahill in summer when he was available, would of been perfect to play alongside Diop so he could learn, I would try Reid for next few games as he was good in his time and others could still learn from him. Diop needs discipline and learn not to dive into tackles or move out of position and leave us short.
My team:
Fabianski
Diop, Reid, Ogbonna
Masuaku, rice, Anderson, Lanzini, Fredericks
Antonio, haller.

Bonzo. I read in this site dozens of times that our owners DGS are parasites and never out their hands into their pockets. The last two seasons have proved this criticism untrue. How soon we forget that our club was on the brink of absolute disaster under the ownership of the Icelandic’s and DGS saved our club. We are lucky to have a club at all. I’m firmly behind DGS and also the move to the London stadium which will help put our club on firmer ground. 35,000 people doesn’t cut it I’m afraid and the fact that we are now getting 20,000 more has and will continue to help us finance better players. The truth is, some people are more happy whinging than supporting. Simple as that.

Liverpool fan in peace. My wife and all her family are hammers so they’ve become my secondary club that I take an interest in.
Wondered if anyone had any insight or opinion into Johnny Heitinga who’s joined our coaching staff from yours?
Hope the season goes well for you!
1.) 20 Jul 2024 09:37:23
Hi.
All the West Ham players loved him and his training sessions. He got on well with everyone. It was a shame he left.
28 Dec 2019 21:27:33
Seen people clamouring for Eddie Howe.
He had NOT done a good job at Bournemouth. Every year they go backwards and he’s actually spent a lot of money on the sly there with little improvement from the players he’s bought.
25mil on Dominic solanke
15mil on Jordan Ibe
20mil on Nathan Ake
25mil on David Brookes (ok he looks a real talent)
My shout would be Rafa Benitez, he will organise the defence and be able attract a good calibre of player. He worked miracles at Newcastle with very little to spend.
Unrealistic choice would be Poch but really can’t see that happening.
1.) 28 Dec 2019 21:42:46
Dyche for me, if not Harry until end of season and then get Rafa.
2.) 28 Dec 2019 22:04:12
Moyes hopefully will steady the ship, there needs to be discipline installed and a proper few weeks hard training, we always look knackered after 60 mins.
I’m sorry but we need energy, out with noble, snodgrass, yarmalenko. Get some youth in the first team.
3.) 28 Dec 2019 22:59:14
So it looks like Moyes is returning, really?
Arnt we supposed to be moving forward,
How does getting Moyes back improve us,
He was awful before, so wats going to be different
Unless he’s the only mug that will work for
those 3 idiots, and because he’s cheap.
4.) 29 Dec 2019 01:01:38
Please not MOYES.
5.) 29 Dec 2019 03:59:36
Were we not in same position before and got us to 13th? I would take that at this time.
Forget all this West Ham way football, it’s not happened in last 30 odd years, we need to grind out results, spend a few years rebuilding from the bottom up!
Get an experienced manager with a young manager from lower leagues working alongside him ready to take over and carry it on.

Why should they leave without wages being paid in full? It’s the contract they and WHU agreed to. Standard practice in football so no need to vilify them for it

Only Joyful is allowed to post Rumours Tin. You know the drill ?
05 Jan 2026 07:56:53
People get annoyed when others are clearly full of sh@t.
For about a year he daily posts about player links (none come to fruition) . Pablo gets signed and no mention ever of him.
I’m calling someone out who would clearly would not have watched a big sample of Udinese games to adjudge the ability of a player.
If you’re sharing rumours you’ve read elsewhere, be upfront about it.
If you lie on an internet forum, be prepared to get called out for it.
If you make out like you’re in the know about West Ham transfer dealings with zero accuracy, be prepared to get called out for it
04 Jan 2026 19:27:13
Give it a rest Joyful.
Be honest, how many Udinese games have you watched to know Solet is a mile above Kilman?
Or perhaps you were watching the Austrian league on a regular basis?
24 Jun 2025 19:01:45
How many 90min games have you watched of Genoa’s out of interest?
02 May 2026 17:43:35
Thought it was an incredibly harsh scoreline. The performance was never a 3-0 loss.
Didn't think their pen should have stood. Would need to see it again, but it looked like the player was already on his way down from a dive before the contact took place.
Stupid tackle from Diouf either way though.
Also, surprised more wasn't made about the penalty shout on Pablo, who was wiped out off the ball.
Fingers crossed Villa do the business tomorrow!

All you're throwing around is conjecture, not backed up by facts, Tin.
If you're not saying it's a reflection of his abilities, then I struggle to understand what point it is you're trying to make and why it's relevant to the discussion? It feels like a desperate attempt to double down on your statement that he doesn't have a clue what he's doing, when the stats and facts don't back that up. It's a pretty ridiculous statement to make, in honesty, that clubs failing after he's left are in any way linked to the job he did, when the evidence is he's got a solid Prem record and realistically overachieved at the likes of Forest and Wolves, and is now giving WHU a good chance of staying when they were all but dead and buried.
I don't think Moyes is the best thing since sliced bread, but to say he wasn't successful during his tenure is ridiculous, and you're ignoring facts because you didn't like the style of football. Two things can be true at the same time. His football was defensive and boring, but he did a good job and oversaw the club's most successful period in a good long while.
Very good if you think Paco is responsible more than Nuno. But it's highly convenient that any success is down to Paco, and any relegation is solely down to Nuno.
28 Apr 2026 07:23:13
Oh Tin. You're either being intentionally obtuse, or you're a bit dense.
How does the legacy thing carry any weight whatsoever if it's not a dig at his capabilities? If you're saying their current plight is not his fault, what an inane comment it is to make in this argument.
The facts I'm referring to are that he has WHU 6th in form table since Jan, taken only 2 points less than Arsenal and turned things around from a 7 point deficit. These are facts. Your opinion is that " This bloke hasn't got a clue and he plays with fire every time. If we end up dropping, it will be entirely down to him. If we stay up, I hope he goes so we can progress. ??"
It's absolutely fine that you don't like his style of football. But trying to express that by saying he doesn't have a clue and having desperate attempts to discredit his good work at other clubs because they're now struggling is what discredits your own opinions.
You did the same with Moyes. I completely understand why you didn't like watching the football under him, but you went too far by downplaying his achievements of 3 seasons in Europe and that the conference league was a Mickey Mouse cup.
27 Apr 2026 20:03:48
Feel free to continue to duck addressing the facts that don't support your opinions whatsoever, Tin. I'll wait for your response.
27 Apr 2026 15:12:24
So, the failings of a club is the responsibility of their previous successful manager? Such a clear link, I can't believe I missed it really!
Is it not much more likely that said clubs have made a series of terrible decisions after Nuno left the club? Wolves have been terribly run, selling off all their best assets and not adequately replacing, and hiring poor managers to replace.
Is Leicester's current plight the fault of Ranieri? Man Utd, Fergie's fault? Slots poor season this year the fault of Klopp?
I see you're avoiding addressing the elephant in the room of the facts that West Ham are 6th in the form table, taking only 2 less points than Arsenal in that time.
Or that they found themselves 7 points adrift of safety at that point and now have a genuine hope to stay up which nobody gave them prior to Nuno?
But sure, it'll be completely his fault if relegated.
You obviously care what people think, it's human nature, or you'd have no reason to feel you should defend your baseless statements.
