Hi Ironmike, I do hope you are right about Zaza and seriously wrong about Remy.
If we are that close to signing Zaza why the hell have we turned down Villa's bit for Valencia. Any money for him would be a bonus and go towards Zaza's fee!
Still personally rather Bony as he has proved he can score in the Prem.

SO do I gerry! Every bodies saying I'm wrong, and no one is alive to this deal, I don't want to mislead anybody, BUT that's what I heard, I am going to look a right mug IF i'm Wrong, ON the other hand IF i'm Right, It doesn't say very much for all the high line hammer sites ( no names NECCESSARY) so we shall see IF we are outbid in this, our BID will still be revealed so we can still find out IF my source was. Correct or not, regards IRONMIKE.

2.) 24 Aug 2016 22:48:22
Mike, reports that Bilic spoke to Zaza today and could fly in for a medical tomorrow or Friday. Top signing if it gets done.

Where do these journalists get there stories from?
It's like April fools day! do they just wake up and say "what crap can I try and make people believe today"?

Gerry P

1.) 14 Aug 2016 11:21:27

2.) 14 Aug 2016 11:20:50

3.) 14 Aug 2016 11:20:50
Yeah I've just read payed is booked for a medical at Chelsea where do people get this stuff from.

4.) 14 Aug 2016 12:27:33
Maybe a chelsea supporter got too drunk watching the euros on replay, seeing payet in a blue top 😉 2+2=5 😅.

5.) 15 Aug 2016 09:38:42
Hi Paul

They probably got the info from the Brentwood Gazette, they usually come up with some random fill the pages news.

6.) 15 Aug 2016 14:30:34
Yeah, I don't think they've ever had a rumour that ended up being close to true! Well at least it achieved something. people outside of Essex have now heard of the paper! ;)

07 Aug 2016 08:17:37
Heard a whisper that Ayew could be presented to the crowd at half time today. Ironmike have you heard anything?

Gerry P

02 Jun 2016 20:36:19
It must be silly season or is it April fools, either way what is all the rubbish being written about Reece Burke.
Sorry Ironmike you may believe what is being written, but it is the same crap that was being said about Reece Oxford last week.
No actual news so make something up to help sell newspapers.

Gerry P

1.) 02 Jun 2016 20:51:00
Sorry, my friend, you have put me down so many times, weeks later you find out what I have posted to be true, ie the fool you made yourself look with Diames exit to Hull which started the ball rolling, I have respect for all posters on this site, wether they are knowledgable or not, , there have been three enquiries thus far for Reece Burke and I don't realy care wether you believe or not in fact it, may be better if you skip over my posts! And read news now, I am finding your remarks tiresome. And boring IRONMIKE.

2.) 02 Jun 2016 21:09:28
Being as I very rarely post on here I wonder how you find my remarks tiresome.
I meant you no offence, just stating that 99% of the stuff written in the papers is made up, and that there is no more truth in this than was in the Reece Oxford rumour.
I will carry on reading yours and other posts with interest but will refrain from commenting in case I offend again.
I must have got it wrong, I thought it was a Rumour and Banter site!

3.) 02 Jun 2016 21:16:10
Comment by saying something positive not negative, when you do post, You are entitled to your opinion as is everybody else, , but they are. certainly incorrect, IRONMIKE.

4.) 03 Jun 2016 07:42:32
I know I speak for many people when I say this. I Look forward to your posts everyday IRONMIKE. Makes the summer more interested. and love the insider information. Keep them coming. Thank you for all your efforts always appreciated.

5.) 03 Jun 2016 11:04:28
Ironmike, you are probably the main reason for me checking in every day. your insite is generally way more accurate than most of the paper and rumour rubbish out there. you get my vote! And you said no offence Gerry P but I certainly read it as a pop at Mike!
You know what they say, when you say 'no offence' then you are bound to offend with whatever you say next!

Hi All
Very important news, there is a form that has been emailed to everyone attending the Boxing Day match.
It has to be completed today otherwise the tickets will not be emailed out / issued. One of my sons phoned me and I found the email in my junk folder. My other son hadn't received it at all. Vaccination proof is needed or a negative test. COYI

Gerry P

1.) 22 Dec 2021 09:05:25
I haven’t received the form or tickets

Terrific grit from the squad players. Areole and Johnson were excellent.

14 Aug 2021 07:45:40
I have always stayed neutral on the G&S out debate but I am now 100% on them getting out of our club. Don't think that investment lot are the answer but who knows. After the best season since 85-86 they invest absolutely nothing. How many decent strikers have been and gone this window and no signings by them? Please don't go on about C.V. as all other Prem teams have made signings. I was looking forward to building on last seasons team and hopefully league position but not anymore. If I had known they wouldn't make any signings I can honestly say I wouldn't have renewed my Season ticket and both my sons say the same thing.

Gerry P

1.) 14 Aug 2021 09:31:30
I been the same really, tried to be subjective, but this year had a massive chance to really kick on, no doubt a couple of loans will come in last minute once Antonio's hamstring goes, but nothing that will improve team.

2.) 14 Aug 2021 09:37:14
yet another day i check the sports press to see what we are up to, i wouldn't say i was depressed just resigned.

3.) 14 Aug 2021 10:22:44
We all know that Antonio's hamstrings are made of "like cheese and things" cheese strings and will fail before too long. Moyes and Pearce's solution Benny or Bowen up front, That may work on the short term but not when we are in 4 competitions, G&S are supposed to be businessmen well they have proved to all of us that they definitely are not, because if they were then they would have invested in the squad early in the window so we could maintain a top 4 push and done well in Europe both increasing the value of the club. We accept that we can't shop in Harrods like the City's of the world but we should be shopping in M&S, instead we find ourselves on ebay and preloved looking for bargain basement player purchases.

4.) 14 Aug 2021 21:15:34
Gerry

I think it goes without saying that they are indeed businessmen, anybody whose value is roughly £400 million is not a bad businessman.
They may not be investing as looking at selling up, who knows but they are not stupid,
If we do not invest then that is what the academy is for, not ideal but if these players are meant to be any good then they should be able to step up.

13 Mar 2020 18:50:13
Well what is going to happen now?
Start the season again next year and forget this one? let's hope so eh! Can't see anyway of finishing this one as this virus is just going to get worse. Play behind closed doors, can't see that ever happening as players, wives, their kids, coaches, other employees of the clubs just going about their business are going to catch the virus so at some of the clubs there will always be players in isolation. The prem rules state that the games must all finish on the same day at the same time, how is that ever going to happen? So what now? What do other people think?

Gerry P

1.) 14 Mar 2020 07:51:52
Unfortunately there are more important things in the world than a game of football. Whatever they do it will upset someone. If they can resume the league in 3 weeks carry on but I have the feeling this virus is going to get worse before it improves. If in 3 weeks time it has not improved write this season off and start again in August. Hopefully we will still be in the prem.
One little thought, if they do scrap this years league what do they do with the Bury situation?
COYI.

2.) 14 Mar 2020 07:56:13
Euro’s won’t happen and they’ll extend season for a month. They’ll also have to do it, otherwise Leeds and WBA will seek legal action.

3.) 14 Mar 2020 08:37:06
Will be interesting to see what unfolds!
Don’t forget that Leeds and West Brom will not be able to finish their season either,
Spuds have had a result as I fancied us to beat them next Friday or will they still have to play us with the players that were available at the time the season stopped.
So many arguments for and against the completion or not, personally I think it should be null and void as there are big impacts both top and bottom of the table.

4.) 14 Mar 2020 09:08:53
My first thought would be to scrap the season now, start afresh as Bobby posts, finish it as it is, no declared League Winners or clubs relegated in any Division! Obviously an unprecedented and unforeseen disaster and should be treated as such? So many losses of jobs not only in Football, all sport, Industry of all sorts, how are the average family even going to survive that are dependent on a regular PAYE income if their particular company struggles to generate income, wow frightening! The Premier league players are isolated from financial hardship, so apart from health will be on a paid extended rest, go further down the leagues and they are as much at risk financially as the average worker? Does the World have an answer? NO, It is limbo at the moment! I wish all the posters and their families here and everywhere the best of luck in the coming future with health firstly, then all that comes with every day living!

5.) 14 Mar 2020 08:16:37
I think the season is over mate, there’s talk of giving Liverpool the title not relegating anyone and promoting Leeds and West Brom to make it a 22 team league next season with 4 teams being relegated next season and the season after to get it back to 20 teams, but as things are not mathematically achieved I don’t see how they can, Liverpool can still be caught but that would need a miracle, and Leeds and west Brom can still be caught, like to know everyone’s thoughts on this, Ed’s what is your gut feeling, what do you think will happen.

{Ed002's Note - The other clubs would need to vote to give Liverpool the title but they may well be asked to. The issue would be those who Liverpool have screwed around would support it or not. That is not really the issue right now. The issue on the table is the “Bundesliga” proposal which would indeed see two promoted with no relegation for next season. The season or season after would then see five relegated or two lots of four - it is detail. This for now is only a Plan B but it does make some sense and might well be the way it goes.}

6.) 14 Mar 2020 17:14:28
The Bundesliga proposal sounds like the best option and probably the fairest one.

{Ed002's Note - I agree.}

7.) 16 Mar 2020 19:26:28
Cannot say I am the greatest Liverpool fan but I think it would be harsh to deny them the title.
They have been streets ahead of everyone else this year.

8.) 17 Mar 2020 22:05:34
That for me what ED is quoting would be for me the fairest and only solution well said Ed as usual mate. COYI.

Finally got round to watching the Sunderland documentary. They should sit the entire squad down and force them to binge watch it. That way they might understand what our club means to us and how it affects our everyday lives. They may also see what can happen to a team if they get relegated. Mind you most of our lot will only care about their wages being halved.

Gerry P

1.) 11 Feb 2020 19:46:53
Most of our lot won’t stay if we go down, they will have already talked to their agents and will almost immediately hand in transfer requests. The truth is players aren’t connected to the club, managers get sacked, owners come and go, the only people who stay are the fans and we are the only ones who can’t really affect the outcome - strange old world really.

2.) 11 Feb 2020 20:20:14
Your damn right SDl. When. the dust settles we are all that will be left. I still feel palace will be dragged into it and the next 4 or 5 games for them will decide there season as they play clubs all below them. If they get little or no points from those games they are in the poo. The.

With all due respect Sdl they do need his money.
Chelsea FC owe him in excess of 1.5 billion pounds.

{Ed002's Note - No, the money he put in was exchanged for equity.}

Due to Abramovich's problems I don't think Chelsea and in a position to sign anybody. It is also illegal to negotiate with a plyer that is under contract. So my advise is treat the rumour with the contempt it deserves.

Sorry COYI64 G&S has wasted untold millions on useless strikers, Haller was and is a good striker but not utilised properly with us. Any fool can see that we desperately needed a striker and another CB in this window and they bought no one. If they had we stood a chance of Europe again which has earned WHU untold millions. You have to speculate to accumulate in the football world to stay still or progress as all the other teams are improving.

Lingard will not be coming as we already have 2 loan signings and he won't sign for us and give up the money he can get in the summer when he is a free agent and who can blame him.

It isn't as simple as just sending a player back, WHU entered into a contractual agreement to loan Kral for the season with an option to buy. Spartak Moscow have to be in agreement for the player to return which they may not be in a position to agree to or may not want the player back at this stage of the season.

I honestly don't understand why Moyes isn't giving the youngsters a chance, Okoflex is on fire at the moment for U23's and yet Moyes would rather bring on Yarmo, WTH is that all about? Same with Antonio who was blowing after an hour or so against Newcastle and offered nothing, why wasn't Perkins on the bench to get some time in the first team to see how he does. Okay we didn't sign anyone so give the young lads a chance, look for they did for Chelski when Lampard was in charge.
The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different outcome, which is what we were doing Saturday and have been doing in other games.
Saturday we kept playing the ball back to Dawson time and time again who then pumped it forward with no reward.
Dawson incidentally was by far the best player on the pitch!
Love Moyes to bits but unfortunately he only has plan A and Plan A plus, no plan B or C.

Europa Conference I fear is out of reach for us, top 8 or 9 is the best we can hope for unless somehow the team regain the form and hunger shown earlier in the season.

Speaking as a season ticker holder, I am sorry but I believe Antonio shouldn't be anywhere near the pitch at the moment.
He is out of condition, out of position and needs a break from the pressure.
Moyes should start Bowen up front, Vlasic on the right with Benrahma and Fornals making up the other 2 places.
The same goes for Soucek, he has been incredibly poor and should be dropped and Lazini played in his position.
For what it's worth that is what I think and so do all my season ticket friends I sit with.

I do not wish to offend but you fail to see my point, sacking Kouma would only achieve one thing, it would make him richer by a minimum of 5-10 mil as he would sign as a free agent somewhere and WHU would lose 30mil, hardly the appropriate punishment. You are probably right that Moyes played him to win a football match but I could also be right. If he had played Diop and lost due to his mistake and we missed CL or Europa because of it DM would get the blame. What ever WHU and Moyes decide they can't win.
SDl I 100% agree with your comments.
