Joyful, I am seeing reports linking us with Grealish. Surley this is just media hype! . we could never afford him, even if City do pay towards his wages. Any thoughts?

Rich4578

1.) 23 Jul 2025 16:43:20
This one definitely comes down to how much City are willing to subsidize and what wages/bonus he expects. I understand we have some decent room in the wage bill but nowhere near enough for the 300k p/w he's getting at City. They'd have to pay 2/3 or more and even then it's doubtful WH would be willing in the current atmosphere.

As far as the player goes I think he would come here if offered. He wants to stay in England and wants playing time.

2.) 23 Jul 2025 16:53:12
Yeah, interest started about a month ago, there are many factors at play here, 1. Does he want to play at WH. 2 Would City Waive loan fee 3 depends on a possible Man City contribution on wages 4 can WH pay his full 290 k a week wages The first three points cannot be answered at present, on Wages, after 8 people have left so far, and only 2 have joined, WH have more than 500 k a week available, BUT would they want to pay out, 60% of that, on one player? I have my doubts on that, IF the first three points fall in line, I could see WH signing him on loan, and pay him 150 k a week contribution, hope that helps Joyfull

Joyful, do you think we stand a good chance of getting Harvey Elliot, also i can also see us ending up with DCL

Rich4578

1.) 19 Jul 2025 09:44:14
DCL wouldn’t be the fans choice by and large, and his injury record is appalling, on the financial side, he is attractive to Sullivan, little to nothing initial outlay, higher wages, which suits, WH present circumstances, it depends, if WH can attract and pay fora better forward ELLIOT, this is purely financial, all the fans would love him, wages not a problem, WH have put forward loan plans with option, which is a non starter, if they put forward a loan plan with obligation, Liverpool, might accept, but not if there are other clubs, who are buyers, and there are, so it’s wait and see, on both of these players

17 Jul 2025 17:51:45
Seen us linked to Greslish?

Rich4578

1.) 17 Jul 2025 19:16:03
Who pays his wages?

2.) 17 Jul 2025 19:52:30
Heard City are refusing to subsidize but if they don't he's going to stay parked on their bench and they'll be footing the bill anyway. No team but them are paying a player 290k p/w and they know it. Unless it's a team they won't want him to go to since they'd be competing with them. They'll cave and pay part of his wages, just a question of when and with who. Heard Napoli called but he prefers to stay in England.

3.) 18 Jul 2025 08:32:51
What would we pay as wages, if he came to us on loan? £100k?

How much would Sullivan agree to pay City for a one season loan fee?

There’s simply no way we could buy him.

I’d be happy for it to happen, but, realistically, I can’t see it.

4.) 18 Jul 2025 09:54:23
Yup, from the beginning few days back can’t see this, wages are there and available at 100 k, a week, Man City, would likely drop any fee idea, but can’t see them weighing in with 190 k a week, doesn’t make any sense, and tbh, don’t see any clubs paying him £290 k a week, the. Ones that could like Liverpool, Chelsea RMA, no interest at present

5.) 18 Jul 2025 12:03:59
I honestly think Grealish is a bit of a busted flush now. 30 in September. He ain't going to get any better or quicker now is he? He'd probably do well in a slower league somewhere on the continent or in Saudi or the US, but the PL? On hundreds of thousands of pounds a week? Hmmmm, No thanks.

Is this Ryan Fraser rumour true! .

Rich4578

1.) 27 Aug 2020 18:31:59
We already have Anderson, Lanzini, Bowen, Antonio, yarmolenko, diangana, Fornals, snodgrass.

So it's a strange one but with no transfer fee involved u would think that we would be interested providing some of the attacking players are sold. I think that's really the question is there any interest in those players?

2.) 27 Aug 2020 19:33:35
I agree. but him being British I think Moyles will go for him.

3.) 27 Aug 2020 23:25:37
Im sure moyes would fancy him but he will probably command high wage and large signing on fee.

I was hoping we would sign matty cash with fredericks being injury prone and pretty poor on the ball. Johnsons injury record is not great either.

Cash can really play I think he would be a solid signing and he's at a good age.

Ironmike. What about Shay Given he is available on a free. a solid professional with loads of experience.

Rich4578

1.) 03 Aug 2017 07:05:26
We may be able to offer cheaper wages as he's an oap now.

Anyone else think McAtee from City is worth a punt on?

Rich4578

1.) 06 Aug 2025 19:32:55
100%.

The lad can play.

He might be too expensive, though.

2.) 06 Aug 2025 19:53:40
He's about 12 years too young for Sullivan to even consider.

3.) 06 Aug 2025 20:53:34
No I think he's over rated to be honest

4.) 07 Aug 2025 08:08:03
There are better options, I agree with Redrobbo

02 Aug 2025 18:54:08
Joyful, if you were a betting man. Would you say bet that either Grealish or Elliott will be a Hammer next season?

Rich4578

1.) 02 Aug 2025 19:19:16
Grealish Money numbers just don’t add up, it’s not impossible, but unlikely
Harvey Elliot, WH have tried hard to persuade this player through his agents, Liverpool, would rather sell than keep, but again LIverpool standing firm on price, because they can afford to
Neither look likely at present, maybe something might happen towards the end of the window
For me I can only make judgement on present info
Grealish 3/10
Elliot 4/10

27 Jul 2025 11:02:37
I don't think we can get Harvey Elliot, I think Spurs may go for him now they have lost Gibbs White back to Forest! . any thoughts on Macatee from City?

Rich4578

1.) 27 Jul 2025 13:26:47
I would think someone cheap from abroad is more likely if we get anyone at all

2.) 27 Jul 2025 17:16:13
Macatee no, cup of tea yes, Rich. WH are scrabbling around, they are in a fix, don’t know quite. what to do, there’s been poor decisions, now it’s getting too difficult to sort out

24 Jul 2025 18:07:59
Although we are favourites for Harvey ELLIOT, I can't see us signing him!

Rich4578

1.) 24 Jul 2025 19:27:48
Only way I can see it if no ones pays the price for him and it's a loan

2.) 24 Jul 2025 21:02:18
Loan with obligation, may work? With Option I doubt that, So can WH afford him, not this season, but next season, maybe! that's why obligation may work, wages? At present time WH have them, it’s a possibility, as Robbo says depends on others, and would he come to WH? He would be a star! And a definite starter, so maybe, just maybe

14 Jul 2025 08:43:02
Any chance that we can get Harvey Elliot?

Rich4578

1.) 14 Jul 2025 09:18:17
Knowing our luck, we’ll end up with Harvey Weinstein!

2.) 14 Jul 2025 11:25:04
He's a London boy (well Surrey anyway, I don't care what anyone says, a KT postcode ain't London! ) So hopefully there's a chance. He won't be cheap though, but he's one of the few we've been linked with that's actually worth anywhere near the asking price.

3.) 14 Jul 2025 15:36:55
Or Billy Elliott!

I think Liverpool are still in a very good position with FFP. and considering they will be fighting for all competitions, I can see them keeping him. I feel he would have been a good addition

Ironmike, I know what your heart says regarding the departure of Snodgrass, but what does your head say?

Do you Snidgrass will drop a division. it makes sense to me either warm the bench here or be a massive player for the biggest club in the championship. sadly like always I do hope it's not all about the cash and for once the want of playing wins.
