Not quite as it seems WH were told on the 24th August that Hummels wasn't coming, any other comments are not true, He's signing for Roma tomorrow, but only for a year, At that time not only WH but Brighton, Ajax, Leverkusen, Majorca and 2 others were told no thanks Matip .good .history apart
is risky, take a years chance maybe? very bad cruciate injury, if he comes, it would be a tricky medical apparently, but if Zouma can pass a genuine medical, so can anybody !,

NOT easy on either of those free agents, Hummels is considering possible retirement, and Matip may prefer Leverkusen, so we shall see?VILLA, have informed WH that Duran may now not be sold and IF he will be, no loans plus, outright sale only! TIN LEGS, agree with you .re Antonio, yes he's been a great servant to the club, but he's time is long over, plan is to get two strikers in, one top and one younger perhaps behind Fulkrug making 3 in all Steidten has big big job getting in those strikers plus , the other three positions, when their contracts expire end of season, WH will become a good side under this stewardship, but patience is the key

Evening Joyful, I’m easy on Hummels and Matip, if they come they come if not I think Alverez could slot in at CB if needed. As for forward I’d be inclined to see how Summerville works in a central position, after all it worked for Antonio and even better for Thierry Henry ….I think the improvment against the best club side in the World on Saturday was vast compared to previous years/seasons. i'm really really excited by what we have and are trying to do ?

Early days dabber, I’m not as excited as yourself, because clearly it’s a long term project, there’s going to be a lot of up and downs on the way, there’s two old football sayings, 1/. No team ever won anything without a great defence (which we havnt achieved as yet ) 2/ you can’t win anything without scoring goals ( without proper strikers we won’t score many goals ) so this leads me to believe we will be better than some but not a threat ( this season ) to any top sides I would like to be wrong, but that’s how I see it

Apparently, we have an up and coming striker from our own academy - Josh Ajala. He is very highly thought of and looks to be a promising candidate for knowing where the net is. Maybe Steidten’s job will be a little easier?

I agree. I’ve also been a long term big fan of Oliver Scarles and hope to see him develop into a regular first team starter.

The youngsters who do not progress are not necessarily up to the standard. If one of our 18 year-olds was good enough now, they would be in the team. they are not, therefore, not good enough. It's simple. Moyes, Loppy, Bilic and so on have never promoted the younger players as no-one has been good enough. The last good youth player to emerge was Noble. Scoring goals in the U18 and U23's is not like the Premiership.

ALL ABOUT two positions now, CB AND CF, Don't think there will be any rush, to try and sort out free agents, more likely wait and watch, see how we go, HERMOSO was spoken to in I early July, good player an asset, but he wanted, crazy money knows Loppy well, Roma and two Turkish clubs keen, HUMMELS, top player but he's 35, if he ccan do one season that would be enough, we shall see, UP front, more difficult not much about. Apart from Martial, and Depay both talented players but early on would want too much money, if they can't find a fit their requests. Will dive down Anyway windows done, we can just sit and watch football now, Iwould like to know what you all predict for this season?

Let’s face it - Villa were right and we were wrong. Duran is worth every penny of £40 million, and more. We’ll never get him now. What an opportunity missed. He’s clearly a top class striker, and if he doesn't stay at Villa, he’ll go to a top European club like Real Madrid or PSG. Still, never mind, we’ve got Antonio and Ings.

Well my favourite player Ings saves the day! We were poor make no mistake, we have good players, but there's a disconnect., somewhere, we are not playing , in any style, that makes sense, and we are a long long way off, top part of table, no threat up front at all, and honestly, didn't deserve the point, but we will take it, I don't see us shipping loads of goals, and we don't look like scoring many either, lack of quality up front going to cost us

DANNY INGS gets a hat trick, if that's The case, you have to ask yourself the following, questions, did Dagenham have a Goalkeeper on the field at all? Is it true Dagenham only used 9 players 1st half? And did Dagenham. Only play their youngsters in the second half of the game, IF Ings can score three goals, most of the posters on here could too, Egan played well for thirty minutes ?,
how on earth can he be match fit anyway, he's not played for over three months, this is a risky choice, you can argue that if no one gets injured or suspended he's not going to play, quite right, BUT injuries and suspensions happen, not clever this one in my opinion

Lack of funds a bit unfair, WH spent all available funds in that window, we will need the same and more, the next two three four windows, it’s a massive job, turning an old tired, shell of a team, into a strong 25 player squad, able to compete with top clubs, look at the size of the next job, 5 players end of contracts, plus two strikers required!

ITS the money Billy, he was on 210 k a week at man untd, but he and Depay have no suitors at present because of their demands, few weeks go past no one comes in things can change? However he was never a great trainer at United, and always on the treatment table, depends what happens, but no strikers glaring mistake

Agreed, I’m not expecting us to pull up trees this season, and playing top sides in opening fixtures. Is very difficult, Steidten looks at five year program, but at this rate, won’t take so long, , another big window next year, depending On how this season goes, could make us a proper unit

You are right, Difficult to argue on that, BUT on the playing side can Loppy. Sort WH out, TBH it was only one game, but CONFIDENCE. Is 50% of football, we got it back after the penalty, but never looked like we had enough of it, Loppys got a BIG. Job on no question about it, Playing high press can be very effective, the problem: with that is you are always vulnerable, to long over the top ball, or through the gap accurate pass to quick forwards, and that happened several times , and we got caught eventually, massive job for Loppy he knew that before taking over, no doubt we will see more ins and outs via Steidten, but it’s Loppy who is responsible for results
