No secret, that WH have been trying to get hold of Essugo a youngster with quality from Sporting, but ( as per usual ) Chelsea have jumped in with higher offers etc (yawn ), there is a delayed plus side to this however, , it's obvious that logistics tell that they cannot keep adding to their ever expanding reserve squad, and WH should take advantage of this, as Chelsea have now informed WH, they are willing to negotiate, at lower prices, their are players there, that could make a big difference to WH

Joyful

1.) 11 Feb 2025 19:33:38
I am sure there are some bargains to be had at Chelsea, being as they just seem to buy for the sake of it.

2.) 12 Feb 2025 04:54:45
Should go for chalobah if they lower the price and also the young brazlian andrei santos looks good in midfield

10 Feb 2025 16:45:11
Background, WH had talk with LIverpool re goalkeeper, Kelleher, the Keeper has intentions to leave end of June, as Liverpool have the Georgian G/K, coming into the squad, who was excellent at the Euros last year, WH have been informed they are one of five clubs to have made an enquiry, this does point, that the thinking is not a renewal for Fabianski at this time

Joyful

1.) 10 Feb 2025 17:09:58
Joyful, would be well pleased with Kelleher, but would like to see Fab stay as perhaps Goalkeeping Coach as a reward for his loyalty if possible if we got Kelleher! ⚒⚒⚒

2.) 11 Feb 2025 05:26:58
It's about time we did something about changing the keeper because Fab and Areola make too many mistakes.

I do hope in the summer that we finally properly address the striker issue because our failure to recruit a fit strong goalscorer who can actually score is becoming legendary

3.) 11 Feb 2025 09:46:26
Mac3, understand and agree up to a point, but there is a team in front of him to help to stop the mistakes in the first place! ⚒⚒⚒

4.) 11 Feb 2025 16:31:49
Yeah but once opponents get past that team you'd like to hope the goalkeeper would be reliable

5.) 11 Feb 2025 19:32:17
I agree with Chelmsford 1944, keepers confidence is only high when they have a good defence in front of them. Not knocking him but look at some of the games under DM where it was like a turkey shoot for the opposition, imagine what that is like for a keeper facing shot after shot after shot. I am sure you will see both keepers perform much better now GP seems to have got the defence sorted out.

Scout at Porto v Sporting tomorrow 3 players being watched, think one is Conrad Harder,

Joyful

1.) 06 Feb 2025 19:18:59
I understand, and have no idea how this would work, so far from the next window, that it is in fact Man U, pushing the Hojlund deal to WH NOT the other way round, reason being, their scout is also in attendance, , for the Porto v sporting game tomorrow, their target Gyokeres, who Sporting now want to cut the price from 90 m euros to 60 m, so Man U want to do the Dutchman deal with us, so they can pursue their target, Who can forget Gyokeres, the player we should have bought for £15n, but the great David Moyes said he’s not good enough, but Ings is! What a judge he is, anyway this deal looks a bit bonkers to me, and a long way out to make agreements

2.) 06 Feb 2025 19:51:44
A long way to go until Summer window and if anything like last window I'm not holding my breath. Reckon hojland could do a job for us but there are better, faster and cheaper out there!

3.) 06 Feb 2025 22:21:09
Mac the last window wasn’t all bad. We spent over £150m and bought some good signings, Summerville, AWB and Kilman (now looking good now he understands the tactics) we have to be happy with. As somebody said the worst signing was the manager however the best signing of our winter window is also the manager …. I’m excited for the summer and beyond mate

4.) 06 Feb 2025 22:27:05
At least Moyes poor judgement might mean we get a decent fee for JWP end of season.

5.) 07 Feb 2025 16:58:41
Hey Dabber, all messing about aside, I think we could see some real gems arrive in the summer and I'm really excited for the future of our beloved club. In Potter I think it's in safe hands

6.) 07 Feb 2025 23:52:26
Totally agree Mac mate ?

05 Feb 2025 19:37:11
Background, unofficial talk with agents of Aguerd, , although the player appreciates change of management etc, at WH, he would prefer not to return to the UK, Barcelona, Madrid, and Villarreal are 3 clubs that are interested in him, Sociedad may not be able to afford him, there's a choice to be made at a future date, Aguerd is a WH player and they can insist he returns, or they can arrange a sale likely to a Spanish club and move on, unless the player changes his thoughts, it's something WH, will have to sort out at a later date

Joyful

1.) 05 Feb 2025 20:23:50
Thanks Joyful. I think Summer will be a very busy time for Potter as he has a bit of a tidy up. I'd love to know aguerd value in summer. I think kudus, paqueta, mavropanos and a few others will also be gone. Exciting times ahead

2.) 05 Feb 2025 21:28:14
Aguerd Kilman Todibo could be a very good back 3 under potter, but then if the likes of real and Barcelona are looking at him how much can we get for him 30m? 40m?

3.) 06 Feb 2025 02:53:38
The problem is, if clubs know that the player does not want to play for WHU, that somewhat ties our hands and it will affect the price they’ll offer for him.

4.) 06 Feb 2025 03:05:28
I can’t believe the rumour that we are looking at Rasmus Hojlund as a possible striker in the summer. Man Utd will get shot of him for a good reason.

5.) 06 Feb 2025 08:50:33
I am not keen but he is a 1 in 3 throughout his career and scored 1 in 3 for Manure so not too shabby.

6.) 06 Feb 2025 11:29:01
I agree, but I think you’ll find he’s scored 12 goals for Man Utd in 49 appearances. That’s 1 in 4, and some would say that’s simply not good enough for a Premiership striker.

7.) 06 Feb 2025 12:09:22
Hi TinLegs, 1 in 4 in the prem but a little over 1 in 3 in total with (23 in 73) 5 in 8 in Europa league so not too shabby. Rather we went for someone else though. Who I have no idea ?

8.) 06 Feb 2025 22:28:12
To be fair I think even Harry Kane would have failed at Man U, the whole place is a pressure pot of toxicity! If we felt the need to raid Manut ‘d personally prefer Zirkzee as there were a number of big clubs battling for him when they bought him, they can’t all be wrong ….he’s just massively lacking in confidence

9.) 07 Feb 2025 17:04:52
Summer is destined to be a sh1t show.

We've got:

Coufal, Fabianski, Cresswell, Antonio, Rodriguez, Soler, Ferguson, Ings.all on the almost certain out list, and that's befoee you start thinknig about the likes of:

Aguerd, Mavropanos, Irving, JWP, Kudus.plus of course our hands being tied with Paqueta and the outcome of what happens with him.

Even last year when VERY active and with someone competent at getting deals completed, that was 8 signings. We can't have turnover of this many players. We're already committed to spending 35m on Todibo.

I'll be surprised if anyone not out of contract under the age of 30 departs, unless it's Kudus for his release clause, or Paqueta due to a ban.

The Club have too many departing through contract end to be shifting viable players as well.

10.) 08 Feb 2025 16:05:09
Spot on stubbo, that's why the rebuild should have started this window. But the dwarf at the top never learns.

At least now we have a manager that seems capable of overseeing an influx of players and getting his methos and ideas across to the players but we aren't making it easy for him.

Apparently we are looking at a lot of younger players from the championship for the summer window. With the amount leaving though we will need players that can come straight into the first team.

11.) 08 Feb 2025 17:15:21
Although we are a long way from the window Please remember not to be taken in with the usual penniless situation, it’s complete and utter rubbish, no doubt it will be trotted out beforehand, Impossible to do calculations now, but with only spending 5 m in January ( which I think a mistake for several reasons ) there will be plenty of funds, perhaps, not to bring in Players with huge transfer fees, but spent wisely we can do the job

03 Feb 2025 11:25:38
Bournemouth have told Orient, if Kroupi wants to stay in France, he can join. Marseille or Lyon, but he's not to go to Chelsea or WH, we need to add a couple of sister clubs, and start giving out instructions!

Joyful

1.) 03 Feb 2025 14:10:32
Not sure he can join Lyon Joyful as I think they have a transfer embargo, aren't they the best part of 500 million euros in debt and threatened with relegation to Ligue 2

2.) 03 Feb 2025 16:45:39
That’s true, but more importantly he won’t be coming to WH, It became obvious as soon as Bournemouth were seen to be the sister club, they are going to raise the roof, if WH were lucky enough to find a star at Vvv Venlo, do you think, we would let him go to Bournemouth, Definitely not, there in lies the answer, wether it’s legal or not, doesn’t come into it, and for me , same answer Leuven / Leicester, and the player Banzuzzi

13 Feb 2025 17:15:31
Have been asked to give my idea of a squad going forward, obviously, this is taking into account how things are now, and I'm assuming we stay up, in doing this, I will give over my ideas, which, not many will agree with, and I'm stating the transfer fees we should be looking to pay, and receive END of contracts Ings, Fabianski, Cresswell, Coufal thanks and goodbye to those SELL Kudus 65 m won't fetch top money at present, Aguerd 25 m Fulkrug 15 m. Mavrapanos 12 m Rodriguez 3 m Irving 3 m Guilherme 17 m fees In 140 m /// Soler on balance my view, return t to PSG/// BUY Kwp from Southampton 5 m signing on fee Pavlidis ffrom Benfica 25 m, Challobah from Chelsea 10 m. Dewsbury Hall from Chelsea 20 m Chuckwemeka from Chelsea loa;n with option, 2 m loan fee Jaka. Bijol from Udinese 15 m, Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland 25 m Todibo already bought 34 m possibly Ferguson 30 m Cummings 350 k lastly Antonio if fit and able One year option renewed, OUTLAY. 166 m plus approx one third add ons total 220 m Cost to WH 80 m for all those changes, very doable, SO OUR SQUAD would be Goalkeepers Kelleher, Areola Foderingham, RB AWB. Kwp Challobah ( or can play CB ) Then CBs. Kilman Todibo Bijol, LB Emerson Scarles, MDF attack and defend Dewsbury Hall, Chuckwemeka, JWP Soucek Alvarez Bellingham, UP FRONT. Pavlidis, Paqueta, Bowen, Summerville, Ferguson, Cummings, Antonio ADD Youngsters Potts and Earthy, for the squad, I have included Paqueta because it's situation unknown, , after looking at the younger players, I am not as convinced as others about some of them, that's how I see it, This is just gross costs and fees, no amortisations etc taken into account, massive changes are needed, , they can be delivered, there is plentiful choice out there, 80 m is not a lot of outlay for a club like WH, there are plenty of other names available, the wages will virtually criss cross with those leaving, it would be good to have the views of others

Joyful

1.) 13 Feb 2025 18:38:27
That would be a great squad if we could pull it off

2.) 13 Feb 2025 23:33:55
Looks good to me Joyful ??

3.) 14 Feb 2025 07:01:14
Decent squad and achievable. Good post.

You actually save money on KWP though as his contract expires at the seasons end so you wouldn’t need to pay Southampton a fee. Think that may even be the case with Cummings, although a settlement due to age would need to be paid.

One other thing, Kelleher would also need a transfer fee as his contract expires in 2026 and Liverpool won’t let him go for nothing.

11 Feb 2025 17:00:52
Nice to hear, Antonio is intending to be fit and ready to go on August 16 th first day of new season, long way off, six months from now, , he's out of contract end of June, but club has a one year option, so this will be a difficult descision for WH to make weighing up his popularity against actual playing use, let's be honest, as much as most have a soft spot for him, he's been in decline for a while and he's now pressing 35, Personally I would give him a years contract, providing he passes a new medical, he can do a great 45 minutes, which could be more than useful in certain circumstances, what does everybody think on this?

Joyful

1.) 11 Feb 2025 19:12:13
I think that's a great idea, he also brings a lot to the dressing room i am sure, another reason Cressie was kept on.

2.) 12 Feb 2025 12:39:06
Personally, I would let him go. If we are to move on, he and Cresswell are the past. Furthermore, we have been superb paying wages considering his injury was not caused by Football. Harsh, but we will not move on.

10 Feb 2025 16:21:26
Background, there's been some noise around Mateta, which for WH is partially true, an unofficial talk said Palace would be interested in a deal for £35 m plus £5 m easy add ons, which ok looks fairly realistic, then a short time late Textor big Palace shareholder informed WH that it is unlikely, that he will be coming to East London, as he wants him at Lyon, his other club, who presently, have a transfer embargo on them, to which! He replied they won't have problems at seasons end, and if they do Athletico must have first refusal, as I know them well, so make of it what you will, but WH have already had problems, with Banzuzzi and. Kroupi, both players for double owned clubs, no smooth sailing here, WH need to get this properly ironed out if they want to pursue this player

Joyful

1.) 11 Feb 2025 05:29:22
So are we looking at another long painful Summer transfer window?

03 Feb 2025 22:02:35
Fortunate for Chelsea, we played well and deserved a point BUT, we had NOTHING to bring on, when we got to 70 minute mark, whilst Chelsea brought on 5 quality players, that's the difference, that's why we needed a couple of players this window, and no matter how well Potter organises us, he cannot play people we havnt got, that's what I've been going on about we missed an opportunity, .these days games are won from the bench, and WH havnt got one

Joyful

1.) 03 Feb 2025 22:38:14
Guilherme looked pretty good when he came on as did the 2 young lads. Pacqueta was out today as well so would have come off the bench if available. I honestly think we’ll be ok Joyful. Ferguson will add something also . We are much much more organised under Potter and its much better to watch. Chelsea were lucky tonight very lucky ……

2.) 03 Feb 2025 22:39:42
Under potter the future looks promising. This season is just about developing the squad players he wants for next season and blooding some youngsters along the way. In defence to JWP he has played under moyes and loopy, before he fell out with him. Under potter he may just be allowed to attack more and do what he did best for the saints and produce that final ball, time will tell on this point. I thought Solar was a carthorse but seeing him gallop down that wing tonight shows the fitness levels are improving. As a lifelong hammer I am looking forward to see how we progress in the future.

3.) 04 Feb 2025 07:08:42
I agree I thought Guilherme looked pretty decent from his short cameo appearance, so hopefully if he gets more game time it could be like a new signing. At least someone to bring to add a bit of bite. Pretty decent performance all things considered and even the old guard looked okay cress and vlad

03 Feb 2025 14:05:27
Well it's looking like we have come to the end of a FABULOUS WINDOW, one striker signed without an option, we should get a fee from Brighton for advertising him, one returned player JWP, who no disrespect for him, sorry, but I see as an act of desperation, and we had to pay Forest a fee to get him back! Potter looks to be doing a good job, but he need players for a thin squad, it's a long way till summer, I cannot remember a worse. Window at WH in recent times, my hope is we don't get punished for this, 5 week window this is the result, 0/10. Shocking, this in no way reflects on Potter, he looks to try hard, but he's not getting the players needed, I know many people on here don't like, my reasonings but they are speaking for themselves

Joyful

1.) 03 Feb 2025 14:22:15
Ings to Southampton? Please please, Ings is like a 3-year subscription you cannot break wasting £130K odd a week. West Ham would have got more value putting £130K into the lottery each week

2.) 03 Feb 2025 15:43:04
I got to be honest, joking aside, I've been quite pleased with this window. We got rid of LOP and his followers (which cost the club) . Then we brought in current Gaffer and his team and Mcaulay (which again cost the club) . We got rid of TS (Which cost us AGAIN), the football has improved massively, we brought in a young striker, got JWP back and under Potter I think he will flourish AND we then got Daniel Cummings from Celtic who is supposedly the next Shearer. All in all, it's what we were crying out for and a great platform to build on in the summer. got to be pleased with all that surely?

3.) 03 Feb 2025 16:20:34
Haven’t got Cummings yet, I think you mean Ferguson.

4.) 03 Feb 2025 16:21:22
You’ve got to be joking. Ferguson on a loan deal with no option or obligation, and Ward-Prowse back to do his famous impersonation of a traffic cone? You call that good business?

5.) 03 Feb 2025 16:24:55
Not for me Mac, sorry, the work to do in the summer will be massive, in fact far too much, too many ends of contracts, and many will be pushed out, which demands too many new players, impossible to buy sort out and gel a bus load of new faces, this was an opportunity to get a couple of people in, to smooth the path, Cummings will be a punt, for the future, ignore him at present, he’s nowhere near prem level, only happy person is Sullivan, who’s got away with spending 5.5 m the whole window, whilst spurs for example, brought in a good CB and now a new forward, massive club no, massive dissatisfaction yes, if you want me to explain the summer outlook, let me know

6.) 03 Feb 2025 16:44:03
Again Joyful, nothing but negative comments. Agree to most of what Mac3 said. I guess you would rather we had stuck with Loppy and got a load more 30+ year old players in at extortionate fees. I don't think you have listened to one thing Potter has said, he said that it was easy to just get players in, but to get the right players in for the system and to gel in the dressing room is difficult. I do enjoy your posts but fed up with the constant moaning about the board. I don't like Sully any more than the next person but he has spent untold millions over the last few years. I suppose if you had Sully's money you would just spunk it up the wall on has been players. He's has had his fingers well and truly burnt with what TS and JL bought and I don't blame him for being reluctant. As I have said before, judge them all after the summer window and in the mean time be positive and get behind the team.

7.) 03 Feb 2025 17:11:48
I don’t quite see how any of Joyfuls opinions suggest we buy has been 30+ year old strikers. There were decent players out there to be had but all we get from our chairman is smoke and mirrors. We have on loan a striker with no option to buy so if he does really well the cost will be much higher than Duran and it is possible he bombs or is just a young Callum Wilson always injured.
We have had to buy back a player who’s forte is set pieces yet he can’t get into a team that has Chris Wood (the archetypal big centre forward) .
At the end of the day it is his opinion, you have yours I have mine. It seems you keep digging him out for some reason. His comments have not always been negative

8.) 03 Feb 2025 17:28:34
Nothing to do with being negative I’m telling like it is, we are thin on the ground, with 15 games to play, a couple of injuries, suspensions, who we going to bring on, Bobby the tea lady? It looks like you have divine faith in the manager, great but he can’t play, who he doesn’t have, that’s my point, you might remember that myself and Tin legs said Loppy should have gone after 5 games, others disagreed, but all agreed 10 games later so where you get I supported Loppy from I don’t know, , and 30 year old players I don’t know, where you get that from either , we have been very lucky, in several games, and got points, we didn’t deserve, WH have only played well in two games Newcastle, and Villa , Sullivan has. lost a lot of money, and will lose more, partially because of his own poor judgement, now he’s pulling his belt in, it’s a shame because a couple of decent players in could have. altered the season, I have spoken to around 30 WH supporters , that I know, and there’s not much disagreement, that this was a poor window, please don’t bang on, with the old chestnut, we have no money, poor us it’s complete and utter nonsense, you can have your own opinion, and I will keep mine, iShortly I’m off to Chelsea, be right behind the team as I have been for Donkeys years, and always will be, that has nothing to do with opinion

9.) 03 Feb 2025 18:02:38
Hammer-D Just because there are loads of players out there doesn't mean they will fit the system, want to come to us or are affordable. Most in the January window are miles more expensive in the window. Keep saying it judge after the summer window. I am not digging out Joyful just fed up of all the negativity on here. Used to come on here before but left, beginning to think it was a mistake coming back like all the others that have deserted the site.

10.) 03 Feb 2025 18:23:01
Hi Gerry, we all know those that complain the most are the armchair supporters. Those of us that pay week in week out from what I see and hear at the stadium get behind the team. Guaranteed JWP gets a decent reception upon arrival. Leave the armchairs to it, they’re all the same.

11.) 03 Feb 2025 19:13:39
Yeah alright if you say so!

12.) 03 Feb 2025 19:52:57
I’m not an armchair, iron-geez granted I don’t go to the away games, but I do travel 80 mile to most home matches. I’m close to the pitch. You think he will get a heroes welcome, Where do you stand (or sit) in the directors box
I do get your point Gerry about the negativity as I often felt like that in seasons gone by, but most people were glad to see the back of the last manager as he was such a disaster but his appointment was due solely to one person and now he takes total control again of who is to come in.

I will try to only make less negative points and more positive

13.) 03 Feb 2025 20:54:46
20 clubs in the PL and very few have done any meaningful business this window. Over inflated prices and panic buying are the name of the game in January. Big job to do in the summer possibly but we have the right men now in Potter and MaCauley to do it. Not Sully’s biggest fan but I don’t see any evidence of his lack of will to spend from June - Sept. Lots of reasons to be positive guys. Keep smiling, we are the Happy Hammers ??

14.) 03 Feb 2025 21:48:43
January window should be scrapped.
I cannot stand it, and all the waffle that goes with it
Total nonsense, it’s like we don’t know what’s going to happen. We all know what’s going to happen a few loans on deadline day.

The summer will be massive for a number of clubs, West Ham are not alone in the fog.

It’s very do able, we have the right bloke in charge currently. I’m very excited to see what Potter can do in the summer. COYIS

15.) 03 Feb 2025 22:41:46
Couldn’t agree more H-E-C! ??

I asked someone else to post some news, on here and let me be the critique, what’s wrong with that, I also said if you are on the bandwagon of WH have no money, (it’s nonsense, ) but if they want to believe that it’s also ok with me, Many fans cannot grasp, just how many enquiries, are made by football clubs, they think everything is reported on news now sites, about 50% is if your lucky I’m not an ITK, just have information source, which in some cases I pass on, sometimes I don’t, just last two weeks, I suggested Brobbey, and Todibo upheaval, no other sites even mentioned it, which shows others knew nothing, If people want to have a dig at me ok, then let them post some news, what’s wrong with that? That’s not having a pop at someone, it’s easy to be critical let’s see people posting news, instead of criticising others

Ok Die 4 we’ll done, I would agree on most, it iis not impossible but unlikely that Gomez comes to WH, and David is being prepped by Barcelona, we had our chance with him, but opted not to which I thought. Bonkers , KWP definitely, worth a good signing on fee, Tierney will not come to WH, unless his agreement with Celtic falls through, , Fabianski in my view too old now, Too early too comment on kudus and Paqueta, , Down the line Potter will have to bring in quite a few, Aguerd following my post 50/50 chance he actually returns to play, while Freddie Potts may make the squad, which needs thickening quite a lot, Irving is on 5k a week, so either way doesn’t matter

At Stamford Bridge I wasn’t with the main bunch of supporters, but it was really loud and certainly plain in intent, these days the technology, even at night, can pick out the offenders, ( there where many ) and make a few targets for a ban, I know and understand, why some of our lads think they can get away with it, but unfortunately they can’t, and the club ‘“”” has to be seen, to do something about it “”” unavoidable, times have moved on, and some things that used to be ok, are no longer ok, that’s how it is, my advise for what it’s worth, think about your actions, beforehand, otherwise sooner or later you will get banned

Difficult one, Chelsea have made official complaint to FA and WH, so they must make enquiries

Yes, Kudus will go almost for certain, and I forgot the lost soul in midfield Rodriguez, so 14 out potentially, can’t see anybody with contracts expiring being retained, So Macauley, will be hard at work, he needs to be, if we can agree a couple of pre contracts, will be of help, but Gomez will be hard, with Spurs willing to throw money at him, we however can look on the positive side, we can use Chelsea’s overloaded bombsquad, for three players, and they will certainly be all ears, Man untd are also overloaded, and again might be useful, free agents is a difficult area, except one, we must go for walker peters, and pay him a signing on fee, Spurs will be after him, but I don’t think he wants a return there, but it will be interesting to say the least
