It's worth remembering that we scored more goals when Arnie was injured than before or since - we've got goals all over the team now.

No one is irreplaceable.

1.) 11 Jan 2019 17:03:31
If it means upsetting the balance of the squad is sell him BUT for the best price posdible.

2.) 11 Jan 2019 17:28:31
Agree Phil if he wants away ( for that money who can blame him ) then let him go before it becomes another circus, I wish him well .

3.) 11 Jan 2019 20:32:16
It’s worth remembering that he was a fly-by-night, inconsistent winger at Stoke and that he became a hot property once Moyes moved him to CF at West Ham.

For the brother to sell it any other way is pure b*ll*cks.

4.) 12 Jan 2019 08:49:33
Banish him to the reserves until he is sold, for the simple reason, not because he wants to leave, we are all entitled to move on, but the way he has and his brother have tried to expedite his departure! Show some dignity you petulant pair of money grabbing individuals, He was not worth what we paid Stoke for him, but was worth the risk as he had undoubted ability, his stock value has risen since DM utilised him into the central striking role!
We are better as a team without him anyway, enough said!

We know Slaven favours 3 at the back - and while it didn't work out with Antonio playing full back he could be an awesome wing back

This would allow Zabaletta to drop into the right side of a back 3

So we could look like:

Zab Reid Ogbonna
Antonio Obiang Kouyate Cresswell
Lanzini Arnoutavic

I wouldn't be surprised to see us sign Wilshere at the end of the month. Arsenal want £20 million now but he won't be worth £2 million on 1st September - and he wants to come.

1.) 01 Aug 2017 14:01:45
HE won't be coming to WH UNLESS we can shift people out, which is looking harder by the day IRONMIKE.

2.) 01 Aug 2017 19:23:47
Personally I can't see that happening bill. Zabaleta has been brought in to play rb and give Antonio the freedom to play where he's best off.

3.) 01 Aug 2017 23:45:11
Yes Mike - the window always tightens up after the early business is done and then goes bonkers at the end and I'm sure we'll shift Snoddy and a few others out eventually

This would work to our advantage if Arsenal are still stuck with Wilshere at the end of the month.

Phil may have to get a season ticket to the Riverside - looks like Braithwaite is signing for Boro!

1.) 13 Jul 2017 14:31:54
😂 poor Phil lol.

2.) 13 Jul 2017 22:18:23
Haven't seen him post since the news must be in a bad way.

3.) 14 Jul 2017 08:57:42
phils hoping to loan him out straight away to us.

People on this page don't seem to have the faintest idea how this works

Signing a player isn't like buying a house or a car where you just agree a price and it's done

You are offering a job to someone at the top of their profession (a profession with a very short lifespan) to a player who is most often from another country

These are elite athletes with many options in many different countries and every transfer they make has a very significant impact on their whole career

The players are young men and will usually have a number of options to decide from

The transfer window has only been open for 10 days and does't close for another 52 days - so they are not in a rush

Chicharito, for example, is reported to want £140k pw. But there may be a number of clubs willing to offer that (it is reported LA Galaxy have offered more - and he is Mexican and not a Londoner)

He will want to see what his options are before he signs (and his agent will be telling him he can do better)

So it is not just a question of offering him the £140k and he'll sign. We have to be patient and look at all of the options we have if our first choice decides his and his family's future lies elsewhere

Look at Chelsea - they are champions and have all the money in the world and can't get a player to sign yet

I know a bit about this because I worked for the club for 7 years (long before the current owners) and have a bit of knowledge

It is frustrating - but to be fair to the club they aren't making any noises about targets this year. And while last summer was a very bad window in the summer before they brought in Payet, Antonio, Obiang, Ogbonna and Lanzini - so that was a pretty good window!

Be patient and have faith my friends.

1.) 10 Jul 2017 17:29:59
Cheers bill, I for one is not getting excited yet over the transfers, they will get done in time .

2.) 10 Jul 2017 18:42:18
Dear BIll, with the possible exception of a few, I think all that is known by all, and can be far more complicated than even you have explained, However WH are continuing to flit around I'm hoping that they get something done, to give other players the confidence to come in, and our fans a little relief, IRONMIKE.

Everton have been very active in the market - and have made some good signings

They finished 7th last season 8 points behind Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spuds and Chelsea and they are looking to overtake some of these teams and if they want Champions League be better than 3 of them.

But how many of their new signings would make it into the teams of any of the clubs above them?

1.) 04 Jul 2017 19:28:27
They've spent a lot of money on players that aren't top notch and they might lose lukaku.

2.) 06 Jul 2017 19:17:43
LUKAKU will a million per cent be leaving Everton that's one certainty I'll ever back.

{Ed025's Note - yes he is mate..

We can’t complain. He forced his way out of Stoke to join us.

It's hard to tell what's really going on with Rice and hard to imagine the club will let him slip away - looks like there is more to this than we know.
I would imagine that Nasri will be brought in as cover for Anderson - who can't play every game until the end of the season -Snodgrass and Wilshere (! )
Lanzini will be back in the Summer so an experienced player without a fee for cover for several players til the end of the season looks pretty sensible to me.

"Offer him whatever he wants"!

He is a very good young player but many good 19 year-olds haven't progressed as expected.

It's Palace and Bournemouth interested in him not Man City and Real Madrid.

There are 20 teams in Serie A so it's hard to see how only 15 goalkeepers made starts.

Supporters of almost every club are saying the same things - look on the Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea pages and it's the same as this one with different names!

When I said about the Insider I meant the page they had on the official site last year - to be fair the owners have been quiet this year.

If you mean Traore he isn't really a replacement for Lacazette.

It is frustrating Seymour - but there are very few transfers happening right now - it's like a house chain - they all have to fit together.

Arsenal won't release Giroud until they have got Lacazette, Lyon won't replace Lacazette until they have a replacement etc

Unlike the old days we are in a global market and its not just a case of paying more than our rivals - everyone can do that - so where does it stop.

And to be fair to the club there are no more Insider columns, no big promises - just press and social media rumours whipped up by agents - and they can't do much about that

Arsenal, Chelsea, Spuds - everyone is in the same boat - Rafa threatening to leave Newcastle because of a lack of activity - but it's just the way the market is, and these are very complicated multi million pound deals - rush them and you regret it later

And it's still June!

{Ed002's Note - Lyon have agreed to buy one striker and are talking with another after agreeing a fee for him with his club.}
