1 first started watching WH when i was 8 years old in 1956 and I've seen a lot of WH teams but this team stands out as amongst the best if not the best I've seen, yes we have had better players but not a team.
For that i say ty David Moyes and his backroom staff Also to the board that they had the nuts to realize that they mad a mistake getting rid of Moyes . and for bringing him back.

Wow what a load of rubbish Simon Jorden has spouted off, we all know D. Rice will leave this season and to think if WH are offered 100mil. we would try to hold onto him get real mate.

We have a great player but he will leave that's for sure anything over 85 mil. would be wonderful providing a large % goes to reinvesting, instead of mouthing off about WH look at yourself mate didn't you take Palace into administration.

To be honest I am not as convinced as you that he will leave this season. But if we get offered 100 Million I would think he would.

We are stuck with what we have, for eg. who would buy Haller he cost 45mil and on 70 grand aweek the days of big transfers are gone due to the virus.
If their is a second wave of the virus i think a lot of lower leagues clubs will fold and a big collapse in the football transfer market.
We will have to wait and see if i'm right or wrong What do u think lads.

Bideford, it looks that way at the moment, but when I read BBC Football gossip text each morning, I still see silly fees like £70/ £80m figures still mentioned, but they are mainly foreign players with tags on them from those always in the CL, PSG, Real, Barcelona etc! But us clubs outside the elite in the Premiership, notably us will as you say be stuck with our big earners that haven’t give any clubs an incentive to want to buy them, unless it’s at a massive loss?

2.) 02 Aug 2020 10:07:22
Someone may take Haller for £30m, not sure about Anderson. £15m possibly.

3.) 02 Aug 2020 10:24:14
I don’t think there will be much player movement this window. The “big” clubs might have some interchanges, but the rest of us - not so much.

I think the team we played for the final matches and the way we played are good enough for comfortable PL survival next season.

I know there’s been loads of chatter about our full backs, an ageing Noble and not enough goals up front, but how bad would you feel if we started the first game of the season with the side we finished this one with?

4.) 02 Aug 2020 11:27:14
Markro, I would be more than pleased to start with the team we finished with this season, I said after watching our games, we haven’t missed any of our expensive imports, only trouble is we need Antonio hopefully to keep injury free if possible as he’s been our spearhead up front! Would like to see another with him but already with Premiership / Championship experience to help out! We.

5.) 02 Aug 2020 14:31:52
It's all well and good selling players to free up funds but doesn't the club still owe somewhere in the region of £60M from previous transfer dealings?

I'd imagine that figure would have to be drastically reduced before they could even consider bringing in reinforcements.

I know it's not an unusual practice for a club to owe large amounts over transfers (Man Utd £170M for example) but with the board pleading poverty I have a feeling our transfer dealings this summer will be very limited, if any at all.

i would like to ask WH fans a question is VAR improving the game for me the answer is NO its not.
We all argued with ref decisions but that was part of the game and at the end of the day good or bad decisions were debated at the pub over a pint. VAR is fast becoming a destroyer of the premiership. All other leagues in the uk don't use VAR its the human error people will accept not a machine that take 4 minutes to see if its a goal or not.
What do u think am i right or wrong?

BIDEFORD jOHN

1.) 04 Jul 2020 10:17:23
In itself VAR is completely objective - it simply gives you incontrovertible, visual facts. The problem is the scope for interpretation and the time it takes.

In its present form, I would bin it.

2.) 04 Jul 2020 14:09:47
Bideford/ Markro, When decisions become so microscopical, offside by a toe or an elbow, absolutely destroying the game, ours was an outrage, Spurs disallowed goal was a disgrace as well, man shoved from behind, no foul, then falling and touching the ball and calling it handball, beyond ridiculous👎Get rid all together, a lot thought a good idea to rectify poor decisions but now become a complete game spoiler that’s happening far to often👎Get rid of it imo👎👎Hope we can get something from the game tomorrow👍👍⚒⚒⚒.

3.) 04 Jul 2020 22:48:38
I said before the season began it will be awful. That was based on the fact I had seen two seasons of it in Australia and it hasn’t really improved things a great deal as while it helps with some decisions the humans looking at it still get things wrong. I must say the time taken in England is far longer than here and that is making it worse. In Australian footy (AFL) they use video ref only for score reviews and that still gets some wrong but it’s quick and unless there is obvious error they go with the on ground call. The minor handballs where it isn’t a deliberate control, the three minutes to decide if Antonio was offside, they are human issues not the technology. They shouldn’t scrap it, they need to review the implementation and the rules on how it’s used.

4.) 05 Jul 2020 09:23:43
sdl hope all is well in Oz. Totally agree with you the technology does not get it wrong the human interpretation does.

I would much prefer the on field Ref looks at a monitor having been alerted by Stockley Park. Instead of having a Ref looking at the screens let's have ex players doing that job.

5.) 05 Jul 2020 17:48:20
NO look how it works in rugby very rarely any issues I think there should to the monitor and some on a situation he may missed.

Well mates its time now for our team to shine, and shine they will, We have a team now with energy and pace which we have lacked for many a year.
We now have a player that runs all 90mins which we havnt had before i'm very optimistic that Thomas Soucek will be the key to our survival i hope I've got it right.
On paper we have a strong team providing they all perform.
We can all see the difference Moyes has done to our team Pel. nearly destoyed us let's move on and get behind our club. COME ON YOU IRONS.

BIDEFORD jOHN

1.) 18 Jun 2020 11:14:56
I reckon our four most important players for the rest of the season are:

Fabianski
Rice
Soucek
Bowen

I’m sure the others will make some great contributions, but those four are key to our survival.

2.) 18 Jun 2020 15:16:38
I would include Antonio in there as well Markro providing he remains fit, gives the opposition plenty to worry about with his power and pace, still think Snoddy can make a good contribution with his grafting and crosses up front as well, not everybody’s choice but I like a grafter and a battler, as a jock he’s up for it, I also believe he loves the club for giving him another chance in the Premiership. ⚒⚒⚒.

i saw the interview tonight about do the fans want Arteta or the owner replaced at Arsenal.
It got me thinking that i must admit our owners at WH had the nuts to realize that they made the wrong decision getting rid of Moyes and his team.
I think it took a lot of humble pie before the went back and brought Moyes back and also to bring S. Pearse after his comments, for this i commend them as this is the best decision that the board have made for a long time, am i wrong but are the fans warming to the board?

BIDEFORD jOHN

1.) 22 Oct 2021 20:04:34
Some fans will never warm as some can only complain. The reality is that if it isn’t a massive middle eastern conglomerate ir a Russian billionaire the rest are really not going to be any different. At least the present board are West Ham fans and so won’t be ripping the club apart like the recent mob sniffing around would have done. Yes we all think they should invest more, we all think we would do better with the funds, but those naive enough to believe that any takeover will be better are always doing a disservice to the club.

2.) 23 Oct 2021 15:28:15
I have never had any gripe with our board whatsoever, they are WH fans plus they are not there to lose money!
⚒⚒⚒⚒.

3.) 26 Oct 2021 00:01:33
Dead right Chelmsford.

20 Oct 2021 14:09:56
i see Simon Jorden is mouthing off again about WH getting rid of S. Haller well let's get one thing straight he played like he didn't want to play for WH. even when he scored he never celebrated he had no feeling for WH and wanted away. he might turn out to be a wonderful player but his heart was not at WH. I wish him well but for WH he was total rubbish.
Moyes was right to get him off the books and invest in the money else where.

BIDEFORD jOHN

1.) 20 Oct 2021 17:39:06
Agreed but why did we let Patson Daka pass us by Four goals tonight.

2.) 22 Oct 2021 16:53:30
I think we tried hard to get Daka but he chose Leicester (who have, to be fair, been a good staging post for players like Kante, Mahrez, Maguire etc) .

19 Oct 2021 13:58:22
I think most of us agree P. Anderson was great for us in his first season but lost his way, it was time to cut our loses the same with Haller.
NO MORE GRAVY TRAIN players please.
We will make mistakes all clubs do but if they don't fit WH get them out of the door before they contaminate the team.

BIDEFORD jOHN

1.) 19 Oct 2021 15:54:35
Agree, they got their Bounty along with Pellegrini unfortunately?any normal worker outside the Football world wouldn’t get employment like that, but it doesn’t happen outside the privileged bubble of PL Football!
But that won’t happen again as long as DM oversees the transfers? Just Yarmelenko to offload now at £117k per week ⚒⚒⚒⚒.

28 Sep 2021 17:44:33
There has been a lot of talk about another WH centre forward but to me their is only one that's fit the stile that we play and that is Toney from Brentford. He is strong hard to push on off the ball and fast.
I don't see anyone else who can play our style of football unless we look outside of the uk
Anyone have any ideas?

BIDEFORD jOHN

1.) 28 Sep 2021 23:34:46
Will be interesting to see the game against Genk as some rumours around Paul Onuachu. Toney looks alright but would he want to come to West Ham to potentially play second fiddle? I see Haller is breaking records in the Champions League.

2.) 30 Sep 2021 08:43:10
Interesting quotes on BBC Sport this morning especially if they may be true?
Rice says “He is happy at WH and believes he can achieve all he wants with us”
Ole says “ Lingard is unhappy at ManU due to lack of playing time?
Thats the first time I have seen Rice being quoted as saying he is happy at WH, although never seen that he had ever said he wants go? Also maybe we could get Lingard in January and this is the reason DM held on for him?
⚒⚒⚒⚒Hoping for progress tonight against R Vienna??.

3.) 30 Sep 2021 11:40:06
Agreed on Rice, other than rumours in the tabloids that people seem to have bought into, have never seen a quote from him till now saying he is happy. All the contract talk, all the supposed demands, all the requests to be informed of inquiries, none have been actually based on anything but rumour.

Moyes does not sigh any player who is not prepared to do a full shift that's why Yamo will leave and will never sign Dele Ali

I can't see Lingard wanting to play in the championship if he wants regular football and to get back into the England setup he knows his best chance is with WH.

Attracting top players will be hard until they climb the league, i think it will take 2-3 seasons before they start competing for the premiership then the champions league.
It will take time but what a journey they are going on i say good luck to them and to buy a club like Newcastle for 300 mil. was good business.
Their is no way any one will buy WH at the valuation which has been talked about for a club that doesn't even own their own ground.

Their first job is to distance their club from Mike Ashly so i think their priority will to get a high profile manager in to replace Steve Bruce, if they are smart enough they should bring in Shearer mebe not as manager but some sort of advisor which the fans would love, it would take 3-4 months to get the right manager unless they already have one in mind, it will take time just like Man. City did when they were taken over replacing Mark Hughs with Mancini.
There first priority is to keep in the Premiership so Bruce will be their until Christmas.
What a great club to buy i wish them well although i wished they had purchased WH.

Lingard was great for us but trailed off towards the end off the last 5 games. We all agree Lingard is a great player and had a wonderful spell at WH
Now ill ask the question do we really need him? now that Benrahma starting to shine who would u drop to include Lingard. I say its a great time for Moyes he has 3 months to asses how Vlasic and Kral work out, it looks like Moyes and co. are starting to build a team we have waited so long for, yes we have had some great players in the last 20 years but never a team with so much potential as the players we have now.
Another centre forward would be nice and get rid of the remaining dross. perfect.
