If you consider the sheer volume of players leaving WH end of May ( for a variety and assortment of different reasons ) we must have some replacements lined up already in some cases, otherwise the numbers will be impossible to replace in those 12 weeks leaving at the present time, Fabianski, Johnson, Aguerd, Zouma, Cresswell Paqueta, Cornet, Mubama, Ogbonna , With Benharama being confirmed will make 10 out and the squad is two short anyway! , so 12 players needed it's ridiculous, but on paper that's how its shaping up we either have deals done or some won't be leaving after all this, , might be the busiest window in history coming up

{Ed002's Note - No "deals" have been "done" for West Ham.}

You could argue that Emerson is a hammer of the year contender, he's been fantastic. Cresswell desperately needs replacing, and Coufals contract situation isn't getting any better so a RB is most definitely needed.

Rumour breaking today about Moyes’s son appointed as scout at WHU. Breaking on Newsnow, West Ham Chat for the first time. I have not previously heard it, and neither had every WHU supporter I spoke to today. Where was this “old news” previously reported out of interest please?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea where it was reported but Jr left the Wassermann agency two or three years ago to undertake some scouting activities for the club.

Bonkers! WH made final contract offer to Johnson today equivalent to 35 k a week, 3 years, Johnson's said no thanks off as a free this summer, just 6 weeks ago Palace offered 5 m straight purchase No said WH, yet Ings is getting. 115 k a week, !, Johnson is no great shakes but very useful, Ings is no great shakes and useless, Johnson wants first team wages approx 48k a week, so we will buy two new full backs for 40 m and pay them 60k a week each, and let a useful player leave on a free, probably to Palace where he will get his money, to me don't make sense., he's a homegrown useful player , 25 players in a squad , no common sense here, Just plain silly to me

It’s one of the many issues with Moyes. For me it’s not all simply about the ultra defensive formation he sets up as, it’s stuff like bringing our youngsters through. As poor as we have been and with a small squad he has hardly ever given any of the youngsters a chance. Probably fearing they make a mistake. Well sadly that’s the only way you learn. And even if that were the case so many of the established team have made mistakes or played poorly…….

If I was a youngster at West Ham with Moyes in charge I would be straight out of there, no question. To quote Jonny Rotten, ‘ Nooo Future, Nooo future………

And Bayern are parting ways with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season. Things could be falling into place. If so, I sincerely hope this doesn’t mean Tuchel has been identified as Moyes’ replacement. Tuchel caused problems at Chelsea and now at Bayern. Somehow, I can’t see him fitting in at the London Stadium under Sullivan. Don’t get me wrong, I want Steidten to stay, and Moyes to go, but there are more suitable coaches out there for WHU. I hope I’ve misread the runes!

Apparently, it’s Brady who is getting in Sullivan’s ear to keep Moyes and prevent Steidten from doing his job. Kretinsky wants Moyes gone and Steidten to hire a coach to replace him. Brady knows as much about football as I know about the air spedd velocitt of a swallow. FA.

22 Feb 2024 15:30:00
If the latest rumours are to be believed, Steidten is really pissed off with the way things are at WHU. Apparently, the terms he agreed when hired have now been altered by Sullivan who is weak and listening too much to Karen Brady and others who have their own agendas. Don't be fooled by the hiring of Max Hahn and Steidten's brother. They too can just as easily leave a sinking ship and go with Tim as a package. It will be unforgivable if we lose Tim Steidten through Sullivan's stupidity and the influence of Brady, who has as much interest in football and WHU fans as Liberace had in coal mining. For this club to survive and move up a gear, Moyes must go, Brady must shut up and Sullivan must sell his controlling interest.

If we feck up the best thing to happen at west ham in years for a DINOSAUR like MOYES then I'm sorry then SULLY and co ain't great business people, then flip it they are as MOYES is going to keep you in the premiership but if and it's a big if he stays which imo he will walk at the end of the season and we only have to have a terrible start to a season under him then he imo isn't the type of manager in the way he sets up and his lack of attacking football, when you need 3 points rather than a point here and there to get you creeping up the table imo we could be bang in trouble but that's a guessing game and it could happen either ways.⚒⚒⚒

Any truth in the rumours Tim Steidten could leave in the summer if moyes is still in charge? If so, I reckon that could be why the board may be looking at a replacement for moyes, never mind this rubbish about fans being unhappy with quality of football. Moyes has done well, but, with this squad would another decent manager have done as good, if not better? I suspect they might!

{Ed002's Note - Tim Steidten (DoF) Has a working relationship with Alonso who is most likely to join Liverpool in the summer as the new coach and I am sure Steidten would be interested in the Director of Football role at Liverpool if offered. Liverpool did have him as an option last summer but apponted Jorg Schmadtke. However, working previously with Alonso is not a good reason to make an appointment and he would be down the list of options for Liverpool. It is understood that his struggles with David Moyes are very much based on how Moyes utilises the players he has rather than over specific transfers. I would expect West Ham to move Moyes on before letting Steidten depart.}

Think we'll definitely be needing Steiden here to weave his magic in the summer.

With the best will in the world, I just don't believe we'll be qualifying for European football next season. It's just too big an ask with the squad that Moyes has whittled us down to.

Without European football, how are we realistically going to be able to keep the likes of Paqueta, Kudus, Bowen, Alvarez and maybe even Emerson and Areola when the silly money bids start coming in and Sully's eyes go $$kerchinngg$$?

I literally shudder to think how the starting XI would look at the start of the 2024/25 season, should we be Steiden-less and Moyes is left to his own devices.

Billy i think the squad is good its the Manager who tells the players what type of football we play DM is the only manager that tells our player not to cross the half way line and to past the ball backwoulds
He destryed Benrahma. Big Sam didn't know what the WH way was and DM is too negative about attacking
Perhaps the 6.0 was what was needed to get rid of Moyes and judgeing by how many fans left at half time will now listen to what fans have been saying for a long time

14 Feb 2024 10:54:23
Sullivan won't sack Moyes as a new manager might come in and actually get us playing decent stuff that the players might like.

The cynic in me has a suspicion that there will be a fire sale this summer, asset stripping most of the value from the squad. We may be looking at the beginnings of certain people's endgames in regard to the club.

14 Feb 2024 11:01:46
I fear the latest statement from Tim Steidten is not good reading for WHU fans. Whilst stating he is "generally happy" at WHU, he says he has not heard from Liverpool regarding their interest in him. He also says "Let's see what happens at the end of the season". If this is not "I could be tempted away, so come on, make me an offer. I'm f*cked off with all this bullsh*tting around here over the manager, " then I am Bob Hope. Thank you, David Sullivan, for alienating the best thing that has happened to WHU for many years. Now why don't you just pack your suitcase with your ridiculous coats, jackets and hats, and f*ck off back under the rock from whence you came, and take that self-opinionated incompetent coach with you? You can play at being a general without doing any harm. ENOUGH!

Rest assured if Moyes goes and Sullivan stays, it now transpires we could get Steve Cooper as Moyes’ replacement. This gets better and better. Who next? Roy ‘Mr Charisma’ Hodgson? Sam Allardyce even? The mind boggles.

16 Feb 2024 06:08:36
With Palace appointing Oliver Glasner as their new coach, that torpedoes the option of Moyes’ last opportunity to move to another Prem club. If Sullivan doesn’t grow a spine and sack Moyes, it looks like we might be stuck with him. I can’t see Moyes doing the decent thing now because he knows he wouldn’t get another big club appointment. He still believes he’s good enough for the Prem, and all those TV pundits who encourage him in this misguided belief, don’t help. So it’s over to you Mr Sullivan. God help us.

SULLIVAN will opt for the cheapest option possible I guarantee it. Forget which manager can take us forward. I'd personally like Potter. I truly understand sustainability in a football club but don't come out with statements like the reason we are leaving the BOELYN to go to the London stadium was to increase numbers who came through the gates, therefore creating bigger turnover and then we can be challenging the top so called big four take that as what it deserves a load of bollocks all the change of stadium was to line SULLYS pockets I mean look at VILLA it wasnt working under GERRARD so they changed manager and brought in EMERY and look at the change in the football club but SULLY hasn't the minerals to do this and replace DD who has taken us as far as he's capable of.⚒⚒⚒

It seems that WH don't want to get left behind other clubs come end of may, to that end, instead of just scouting , they are trying to do a deal or two in advance, it appears one of the targets is the Girona forward Bovbyk, if true he will be no cheap outing for sure, so many players will be required , end of contracts for some, moving on for others, Steidten. Will need to be on his game that is if he stays with WH

Further to above post, although WH are well known to be chasing Tosin ( (Free agent in summer ) from Fulham, the player is being attracted by Liverpool, feelers have been put out to Kamada, currently at Lazio., to join WH as a free agent, in summer. Leaving behind an option to renew in Italy,

As you all know by now Osman joining Brighton, who are obviously, still operating transfers better than WH , it also appears that my associate who said two bids went in for Gudmunsson was spot on, This is the rub, WH where offered a loan with Obligation to buy for the player 5m euro loan plus 21 m euro purchase in summer, , to concur with FPP rules it was left to Moyes to make the choice of one player between him and Phillips, you know what happened! A forward /striker was the priority so he chose another midfielder, just poor thinking in my personal opinion, WH had I think 22 goal attempts last Sunday, but it's been proven beyond any doubts, that defenders cannot regularly score goals, that's not their job and it makes you wonder what Moyes is thinking about .Gudmonsen although a basic attack mdf is a proven goal scorer, with a striker on the field last Sunday could have been a different outcome

Sully bottled the Osman deal.

Disgraceful how we've lost this one to Brighton when he wanted to come here and all the recruitment team were agreed he was the main target at LW. Have a sneaking feeling that Moyes wasn't that bothered about this one though.

The possibility comes to mind that Moyes may be offered a new contract as a head team coach NOT manager, with Steidten and his friend's and family obtaining and selling players, maybe without Moyes interference, wether Moyes will accept that situation should it occur, remains to be seen, if he stays he has only a small influence on transfers, if he leaves well thanks and bye bye, could this scenario happen maybe?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Agree12 Disagree0

08 Feb 2024 12:11:13
Several weeks back I suggested this. I think there’s a possibility the board will offer Moyes a contract which will include performance indicators and will take away his control over transfers, giving control to the technical director. This is becoming the norm in Europe and makes perfect sense from the perspective of the club. Moyes is an old fashioned football manager who insists on full control, so I don’t think he’ll ever accept those terms and he might even walk. Fingers crossed.
