Great to read Hernandez talking so positively about playing and scoring goals for us, then looking to capitalise on our winning streak against Fulham on Saturday👍⚒ I am quite happy or admit that I have been a massive anti Hernandez critic on here, previously, simply because of his previous lack of enthusiasm and lack of effort on the pitch, no matter what his past statistics on goal scoring said!

But now WOW, completely reversed my opinion now having been given the chance by MP to play from the start in the last few games and scoring some good goals! I don't feel guilty over my previous remarks as to me any player should commit 100% for the sake of the paying fans and for himself👍He says " He. now feels the same excitement putting the WH shirt on and playing as he feels playing for Mexico" 👍👍⚒⚒.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions Chelms, its great when a player performs well enough to change our minds! let's hope JW does the same, as we all know your thoughts on him. Snodds is a great example, as I am sure all of us wouldn't have complained had he left in the summer. I am sure there are better players out there, but he is a player we can all be proud to see wearing the shirt, much like Nobes. Proper professional.
Chica's career stats always warranted his salary, as he is a proven player who has CONSISTENTLY scored more goals at the top level than anyone we have ever had. I do not begrudge the salary he is on. The fact is he has not done it for us so far, which is why many feel this way about him. HOWEVER, Chica needs a certain style of football to flourish, and that has not been provided by our teams under Slav and Moyes. MP is changing that though, and i really hope that this new style and confidence provides the platform for Chica to really flourish and score lots of goals for us. His effort on the pitch has always been there.

{Ed001's Note - I am confused, how is a player who was, by his own admittance, too fat to play well for more than a year a proper professional? I get Noble is, to a degree anyway, but Snodgrass only has himself to blame for his poor form.}

2.) 14 Dec 2018 14:12:30
He was always that weight and played very well for other teams, those previous managers never required/ told him to loose the weight to perform better, so its a bit unfair to say he was un-professional, he was just never coached properly in order to get even MORE out of him. Turned out that the level he was at was not good enough for West Ham, and eventually a good manager came in (Pellegrini) and told him what he needed to do in order to improve, and he did it when he could have easily thrown his toys out of the pram and left (especially after the owners comments last year) . He is also great at the non-football stuff around the club. IMO that is a great attitude and a proper professional.

3.) 14 Dec 2018 15:20:07
How did this go from Chicha to Snodgrass?

4.) 15 Dec 2018 10:44:25
I, too have been very sceltical about Hernandez, who always seems to react sulkily if things don’t go his way. His turnaround in form is very welcome, though.

Let’s see if the Fulham game is hot or cold for him - if it’s the latter, I’m betting he will be caught offside consistently as he scowls and stares at the ground.

If it’s the former and he bangs in a couple, I’ll take it!

5.) 15 Dec 2018 22:09:43
Make Ed right on this matter totally I know I go on far too much about astronomical wages but to be overweight is mostly his fault and the club for allowing to happen total lack of professionalism and duty to the football club and fans at least he's starting to earn his money and show us die hard SUPPORTERS some effort and commitment to the football club and lastly To CHELMSFORD it one thing to say what you think regarding CHIQUARITO saying you are anti the player but to then admit you may have been slightly wrong is nice to read so well done chelms it's all about opinion this game but to admit you could be wrong is not always forthcoming hope you andon't family are all good mate. COYI.

{Ed001's Note - and, by the way, he was never that weight previously by his own admittance. He has actually come out publicly and said so. I think Nickinho is living in some kind of dream world where Snodgrass was anything but a poor winger, prior to losing weight and improving his fitness. He did have fitness issues and was not training hard enough in the past and was overweight for a footballer, but not to the extent he was recently. The lad has never been a good pro at all. He has never put in the time on the training ground nor looked after himself properly away from the pitch in the past.

Fair play to him for realising it and working on it, but he should have been doing it ten years ago. That is partially on him and partially on previous clubs and managers.}

6.) 17 Dec 2018 09:08:51
Well said Ed, cannot believe the change in him, a player I thought a poor signing and a worse squad player.
Makes you wonder what Allardici and Bilic were doing fitness wise.
On another note, Caroll looked the leanest I have ever seen him on Saturday, reckon MP is working them all very hard, hope it all works well for us.

{Ed001's Note - you have to give a lot of credit to Pellegrini, he has got through to players that other managers couldn't get through to. It is something he has done throughout his career and why he has been at the highest level. It is also good to see him succeed because he is a nice guy.}

7.) 17 Dec 2018 16:50:29
I don't pretend to know Snodders' weight fluctuations prior to West Ham. You can only succeed at the tasks put in front of you, and he had succeeded at all his previous clubs (relative to their level) . When he arrived after Payet's departure, the team as a whole was not performing at all in the wake of the move to the OS and all the negativity surrounding the club. The manager did not have the ability to get a performance out of the team let alone Snods (I say that as a fan of Slav) and our owner was then completely out of order with his public comments which would ruin any player's motivation and commitment. Were it me at my job (regardless of money i was earning), if my manager or CEO made those re-marks publicly I would lose motivation also. He went away to Villa and was once again a success.
You are right, Pellegrini deserves the bulk of the credit for giving him the opportunity again at this level, and the direction on what to do in order to improve his game. But in my personal opinion I do not see the un-professional side to his story, and what he does now for the club is commendable.

{Ed001's Note - if you can't see what is unprofessional about being overweight as a professional athlete then I am wasting my time even talking to you.}

8.) 18 Dec 2018 14:10:49
Not every player is Ronaldo esq when it comes to their own physique, that's precisely why clubs have dieticians and fitness trainers in order to manage their levels so that they can perform to the levels their manager demands. A player's professionalism regards how they look after themselves is therefore dependant on whether they can physically perform to the level their manager demands, and i have highlighted how Snods has looked after himself professionally enough throughout his career to have been successful at all his previous clubs.

He did not put on weight at West Ham United, that was not the reason he did not succeed at first. He came into a team that was performing terribly during a negative period after leaving Upton Park, he was played out of position, and was unforgivably slated publicly by his owner because he could not fill the boots of a world class player in Payet. His comment stated that he lost some condition while at Villa in the Championship, where the physical demands are different. But he was still in good enough physical condition to exceed his managers demands and be one of the best players in that league that season.

He has simply come back to a league that demands more, and to work under a manager who prefers all his technical players to be much leaner than other managers do. You can see it in all of our players this season, they have all gotten leaner, and could all therefore say they were previously "overweight", simply because this manager demands more. Snodds has responded to meet those demands yet again.

Professionalism in any profession is ensuring you are able to perform to the level that meets the demands set out for you by those higher up. Snodgrass imo has done exactly that with regards his condition, and has exceeded it in regards to his non footballing duties at WHU. Just because a player is not as fit as Ronaldo does not mean you question their professionalism.

07 Dec 2018 08:13:56
Apparently MP is interested in Valencia at ManU to replace Zabaletta, another younger oldie to replace another oldie? Not quite sure about that but has been really decent in the past! Also has given Carroll a contract warning that he needs to play more often to win a new contract, well hopefully that's dead in the water! Pity he didn't think to say that to Wilshere before he signed him!

Chelmsford1944

1.) 07 Dec 2018 10:29:00
I see that about Valencia as well Chelmsford, I don't know how long Fredericks is out for but once fit we need to give him a few minutes on the pitch to get him up to speed and give him confidence, I also see Nasri is set to sign on wages believed to be £80-£100k a week, what must Rice be thinking, I would rather get in a couple of loans in January and concentrate on Rice's contract.

2.) 07 Dec 2018 13:23:48
The paramount thing that WH should do is get Rice on a new contract NOW. paying above average wages to has beens does not give a good impression to Rice, he must wonder what is going on around him. If we lose Rice it would be devastating to the supporters.

3.) 07 Dec 2018 14:08:55
Hammer man, it wouldn't just be devastating, I think there would be a bloody riot, you will get banners at home games saying BOARD OUT, and we don't really want all that to start up again, let's hope it is all being sorted out behind the scenes?

4.) 07 Dec 2018 18:11:52
So what can the problem be by not getting Rice on a long term contract. Its about time we were told the truth, or is it just our board being stubborn. It can't be that the club can't afford it as we are paying squad players drastically over the odds.

5.) 07 Dec 2018 20:40:32
As I said above, and playing devils advocate above, maybe it’s his agent and Rice who don’t want to negotiate yet?

29 Nov 2018 09:41:09
Regarding the Rice situation and Sullivan / whoever else is concerned, from an outside point of view, we all want to see progression for our club and gain respectability within the Premiership and are all must be fed up with us continually languishing in the relegation zone! The opinion seems to be "Sullivan is shrewd" yes maybe but everybody has weaknesses and makes mistakes, maybe in the world of porn he was extremely successful, making money he has been successful, but running a football club, maybe not so successful in winning some silverware and gaining respectability!

We have become easy touches for wasting money on huge wages, that's not shrewd look at Levy at Spurs, now he is what I call shrewd, fantastic Manager, great players, great football, I am now thinking the board has given Pellegrini to much control in desperation for success, I would simply not give anybody that much control if I had invested tens of £millions, that's not shrewd in my opinion! your employee can walk away without a worry in the world with their bank stuffed with £millions for being a failure! I hope by the end of the season I am proved wrong on all accounts!

I am amazed at how many of you seemed clued up about all these foreign players but of course have varying opinions, I haven't heard of most of them😂 Ok so some may. Be press talk but at least we can rely on Mikes info, thanks Mike for all the great potential bids you keep us informed with👍 This just shows the pulling power of MP and his knowledge of players abroad, if we sign another 4 as he wants, we will have a transformed team, how bloody exciting is that making it for us?

Chelmsford1944

1.) 03 Jul 2018 16:15:55
Dont just watch the epl.

2.) 03 Jul 2018 16:44:10
I think we will have a fantastic chance of staying up this year.

3.) 03 Jul 2018 17:12:33
It is exciting yes, but remember we could have a lot of players that will need time to adjust to the prem . So let’s not get too excited, this won’t be an overnight transformation we need to balance our expectations with a bit of patience also :)

Seems a good game to give Nasri a run out tomorrow along with some youngsters with experienced back up on the bench, a decent cup run would be good? ⚒⚒⚒.

Chelmsford1944

1.) 04 Jan 2019 17:02:03
Cant see pelle taking a huge risk tomorrow he won't underestimate the opposition I doubt.

2.) 04 Jan 2019 17:40:55
Agreed, but it seems standard ruling almost states that some less experienced have a bit of playing time in competitions or they won’t ever gain experience, plus it gives some of the regulars a bit of a rest, the poor overworked first teamers might get early burn out, I wonder how they would cope with proper jobs🤣🤣 I read years ago Norwich had a tough Scottish centre half named Duncan Forbes, in the close season he apparently worked on building sites to keep himself grounded and appreciate what he had playing football, plus in those days they only paid half wages in the close season, how times have changed🤣😂⚒⚒⚒.

3.) 04 Jan 2019 19:03:55
So will he start with youngsters and then replace with first teamers from the bench if it’s not going well, or start with more first teamers and replace with youngsters if we’re winning comfortably?

4.) 05 Jan 2019 13:30:21
mix of both usually.

11 Dec 2018 14:48:04
always easy with hindsight, but Watford boss commenting on Quina's ability and contribution in the Everton game for Watford on Monday night, we let him go for £1m😲😲 Somebody at Watford had possibly better judgement than the WH staff, well maybe? Apparently cosldered not to be able to adapt to the Premiership, well, he is only 19, should have given the boy more of a chance maybe? Sill who cares, it's only a £1m😠😠😠⚒⚒⚒.

Chelmsford1944

1.) 11 Dec 2018 15:51:04
does he have a sell-on clause?
If so, smart as lad clearly wanted out and can cash in when the big boys come knocking.

2.) 11 Dec 2018 18:22:04
Yes he does. IRONMIKE.

3.) 12 Dec 2018 07:17:49
What % Mike?

4.) 12 Dec 2018 08:28:36
Fantastic news Ironmike, if he becomes a 30m+ player should get a nice little chunk of it.
Having searched the mire that is twitter looks like 10%? Not too shabby as don't pay his wages and get 'free' money in a couple of years.

5.) 12 Dec 2018 10:49:11
It must be remembered how difficult it is to hold onto players who constantly agitate especially when they are not even in the squad So descisions must be made And WH will pick up 10% of any sell on fee in one payment. IRONMIKE.

6.) 12 Dec 2018 16:04:11
Need to remember the player had a very short time left on his contract and had not proved his talents in the few chances he got. Any offer from West Ham would have come with little guarantee of first team football, and having made little impact himslef more players were going to be bought in summer that would go ahead of him in the pecking order (Anderson, Yarmolenko, Wilshire) . Little chance he was ever going to extend his contract in this case so we got what we could for him. Shame, as i think he will be a good player in the future, how good I do not know, Slav was an admirer and said he was like Modric in style. Diangana has been more effective than Quina was, and Holland and Silva both look to be as good IMO.
Should have had him on a longer contract in the first place though.

7.) 15 Dec 2018 22:29:18
Quinna is a luxury we couldn't fit into our team unfortunately but when I did see him in a west gam shirt he never once impressed me unlike Diana who will turn out the better option IMO. COYI.

06 Dec 2018 14:00:34
Watched MOTD highlights against Cardiff 3 times🤣⚒ Thought Snoddy was brilliant, assists, dead ball kicks, through passes for the goals, what a massively improved player since MP had the foresight to keep him and give him more playing time, the man has been rubbishd on here but making a few eat their words now, must be one of the first on the team sheet on this form, runs, chases, should be an inspiration to the lesser tries that sometimes play👍Fabianski, well what an inspiration he-is to the team with his monumental saves, great penalty save, in top 3 Keepers in Premiership for me, thought Antonio looked much improved, seems to have lost som eweight as well, Perez took his goals brilliantly, let's hope he can help fill in for Arnie, like to see Hernandez ao4k harder, excellent against Newcastle but lots mor consistantcy and hard work needed! Silly penalty conceded by Arnie, stonewall penalty when he was running away from him could have changed the result completely! Great team performance though, let's maintain on Saturday, still think Palace are a bloody decent side and no pushovers, contain Zaha, Townsend if possible, then we can do it hopefully⚒⚒⚒⚒COYI.

Chelmsford1944

1.) 06 Dec 2018 16:16:34
Snodgrass most improved player, as I Said Sunday MOM for me, and I was the most guilty of all berating him daily, what do I know? IRONMIKE.

2.) 06 Dec 2018 18:54:32
Mike, you me and many others😂🤣 players can confound us at times, what I think we all find so bloody annoying is the stupid money they are all paid when they can hardly be bothered to raise a sweat! Snoddy is running his socks off and has made some reall decent assists, which is as good as scoring, so deserves his praise👍⚒⚒⚒.

01 Dec 2018 08:57:12
Reading online "Football London" that former Arsenal man, Lauren, has said Arron Ramsey would be a great move for him to sign for WH to enhance his career as he is well settled in London! Not sure how it will enhance his career with us🤣 apart from almost having a guaranteed starting place, but what a fantastic coup and signing that would be! I try not to get excited by some flippant journalism, but that signing would be terrific if at all possible, would love him at our place👍👍🤣🤣⚒⚒⚒⚒COYI.

Chelmsford1944

1.) 01 Dec 2018 11:54:48
Hi Chelmsford, that would be a good signing, a good replacement for Nobles ageing legs, he'll be a free transfer so he will probably have a good few teams to choose from, if he went to a so called bigger club then I think he will be rotated, but if he signed for us then he would be a definite starter then we would have a great spine to our team with Arnie in front of him (if he stays), Rice, Diop, and Fabianski behind him, maybe Jack W can have a word with him and try a convince him.

2.) 01 Dec 2018 12:18:52
Stevie, yes would be a great signing, that would excite me as much as any of the signings we have made to date👍 If Wilshere had any influence at all in us signing him, I t would have been the most useful thing he has done since we signed him and possibly the most useful thing he will ever do in his 3 year contract, as you will gather I am NOT a JW fan in any way at all.
Hope Ramsey May look at in the way you have with possibly being a rotational player in a bigger club if we go after him 🤣🤣COYI⚒⚒⚒⚒.

30 Oct 2018 16:45:10
We should surely get a result on Wednesday against Spurs, I know we have to consider the Premiership but they only played City on Monday. I suppose that's the joys of playing in Europe, hope we never do that unless we have a mammoth squad, it must knacker and cause to many injuries to key players! The financial gains cannot outweigh staying in the Premiership surely unless you win the ultimate Champions League which is unlikely! We know it can gain worldwide recognition for a club which for commercial reasons is great, so I suppose it's a matter priorities! ⚒⚒⚒⚒.

Chelmsford1944

1.) 30 Oct 2018 20:43:50
Fully agree Chelmsford if you can’t beat an average spurs side with 24 hours rest you need to start supporting Southend, you will win your cup final tomorrow but don’t go partying too hard on the jellied eels or pie and mash as you know you will be out next round as usual.

2.) 31 Oct 2018 07:22:46
Raver, your replies really make me chuckle, good sense of humour mate, I totally forgot about you when I posted this, have known better😂 you will crucify us if we can’t beat your pub team tonight😂😂 but of course my excuse will be that we’ll have several youngsters out and it is a Mickey Mouse trophy, some pretend to take it seriously but they wil get a real b———- from all quarters if they demean the competition, the FA Cup is still a meaningful competition but not this one. I would never attend an evening game now especially in winter freezing cold, as I see no pleasure getting home at midnight, to old for that now mate😂😂 COYI⚒⚒⚒⚒.

3.) 31 Oct 2018 11:43:05
If Spurs can't beat a 2nd string WHU team given their Squad and only 1 first team injury then they need to start supporting Luton Town
Adrian, Fredricks, Ogbonna, Diop, Masuaku, Rice, Snodgrass, Obiang, Diangana, Antonio, Hernandez.
Only 3 first team players in that line up for me (Diop, Rice, Obiang), so if this is the likely team we put out then it will be an embarrassment for Spurs to lose tonight. They have a fantastic squad of players, everyone ripped them for not signing players in summer, but they still have an incredible team and squad far better than most. Most Spurs fans were saying "how do we improve" or that there was nobody available who would improve them. Their position in the league proves they have a great squad, they have won playing under 100%.
Don't believe the talk that Spurs have just had 48 hours etc either, we have a host of critical players out in our team and are in a FAR wortse position, and the current Prem fixtures we have are must wins against the teams around us (Burnley are poor but we cannot take it for granted) . Spurs are all but out of the Champs League, they are not City, Liverpool or Chelsea and hence scrapping for 4th spot with Arsenal this year in the league. This is their cup final and is a real opportunity for them to finally get some silverware with this incredible team they have. Eriksen, Alli, Son, Winks, Aurier and Wanyama all did not start vs Man City and will be fresh and up for the game tonight. The fact Eriksen, Alli, Son and Winks were all left out proves that this competition is high on their priorities, and that they know they cannot keep up with City over a season.

4.) 31 Oct 2018 13:10:14
Very well thought out post Nickinho👍 Makes a lot sense👍👍 agree with comments on Spurs squad and play, Poch is an excellent manager with a suitably excellent squad to manage and organise which he does admirably! Didn’t realise who was still available to him, will pick the game up on Live Radio tonight👍👍Hernandez, Snodgrass, and Antonio up front if that is the team are all Championship standard and can see Spurs comfortably snuffing them out, Diangana looks decent but needs the games to improve⚒⚒⚒COYI.

5.) 31 Oct 2018 14:02:28
Poch is an incredible manager, Levy really should have backed him this summer with a big signing. Premier league could lose one of its best managers soon if Levy does not get his act together.
I would love to see us go for the cup and see Arnautovic and Anderson start.

6.) 31 Oct 2018 15:00:46
Nick, the way I’m feeling about Spurs lately, I would rather support Luton Town. As for Chelmsford, you are missing a trick with the mid week winter matches. I love them as it's a good excuse for the wife to warm the raver up when he gets home 😍.

Would it be a bad thing if this January transfer window was scrapped, it creates uncertainty, confusion, stop clubs from getting screwed from every direction but at least they will know who they have until seasons end! It’s then a level playing field within reason!

I think if I was Diangana at 20 years of age playing with and against seasoned Internationals in the Premier league I would have thought I have made it, he has plenty of time to learn and improve, lots of players don’t peak until mid / late 20’s, think Ian Wright is a good example of that and possibly many more?

Markro, agree entirely, I think all the wishing and hoping ain’t going to make it happen, many on here tend to get over excited about possible conjecture? Think it’s good to air views on recent game results, players performance or non performance, injuries, but I personally take no notice as you say of “silly” million £ or € transfer amounts especially when it’s players currently abroad, prefer fact to fiction or dreams🤣🤣⚒⚒interesting today, Bournemouth are a tough side to beat, so we’ll do well not to lose, good to draw, great to win obviously⚒⚒COYI.

Bloody shame Stevie, I bet you often phone in to your boss if you still work and tell him that🤣🤣 What a total disgrace for a professional, unless that’s a cover for being dropped by MP, he should have his wages docked! But I also think if that’s the case the management should have the courage to tell the fans it’s because of his attitude, but then of course that could backfire in selling him, so catch 22 maybe? ⚒⚒.

Dave, that’s why I wouldn’t play him again, I think he could be a disruptive influence, the yeam imo played with more freedom when Arnie wasn’t there and the goals were flowing as well! His attitude when being subbed towards Pellegrini was one of disdain, you don’t expect to salute the manager but for goodness sake show some respect, who does he think he is?

Banish him to the reserves until he is sold, for the simple reason, not because he wants to leave, we are all entitled to move on, but the way he has and his brother have tried to expedite his departure! Show some dignity you petulant pair of money grabbing individuals, He was not worth what we paid Stoke for him, but was worth the risk as he had undoubted ability, his stock value has risen since DM utilised him into the central striking role!
We are better as a team without him anyway, enough said!

Stevie, Perhaps they saw a player with a better professional attitude than Arnie, I would now have Mitrovic in place of Arnie now his true personality has surfaced, of course they are all entitled to follow a dream, but he is hardly underpaid or treated badly is he, he was underwhelming at Stoke, although you could see he had great ability, I Lways thought he modelled himself on Zlatan Ibrahimivic even to the silly little top knot😂 I Lways wondered why he was never played as a striker, then Moyes decided to do exactly that and his media coverage spiralled from there and I definitely think it went to his head unfortunately? He has an unmanageable ego imo and could become a disruptive influence among players, I would sell him ASAP we don’t need him or players like him!
