Hate speculation and online rumours but just read online Hernandez's agent filmed at our Stadium, only stumbling block is valuation. take anything around the £10m surely, then get rid of his stupid £140k wage burden, he's done nothing, won't do anything, so doesn't even matter surely if we don't replace!

Sad thing is with Arnie now injured, Gomez not wanting to come, I think JH May be our first choice starter for the coming weeks.

2.) 30 Jan 2019 02:23:32
I mentioned he's a possibility to go he’s taken over the mantle of MR SULK just recently, with Arnie injured better off playing DJU and SILVA up front at least we will get some movement and honesty. IRONMIKE.

3.) 30 Jan 2019 03:50:09
Agreed but can you see that happening? I think we will hold onto JH as the Gomez deal slips away and JH has the backing of MP it seems so would guess he will start him on the weekend.

4.) 30 Jan 2019 09:50:37
any sign of good news regarding players mike? lords knows we need it after that shambles last night.

5.) 30 Jan 2019 10:14:07
What a bloody shambles indeed, WE seem to make one step forward and then two steps back. And Dear Lord have we got some players to shift, it’s a long long list. IRONMIKE.

Great to read Hernandez talking so positively about playing and scoring goals for us, then looking to capitalise on our winning streak against Fulham on Saturday👍⚒ I am quite happy or admit that I have been a massive anti Hernandez critic on here, previously, simply because of his previous lack of enthusiasm and lack of effort on the pitch, no matter what his past statistics on goal scoring said!

But now WOW, completely reversed my opinion now having been given the chance by MP to play from the start in the last few games and scoring some good goals! I don't feel guilty over my previous remarks as to me any player should commit 100% for the sake of the paying fans and for himself👍He says " He. now feels the same excitement putting the WH shirt on and playing as he feels playing for Mexico" 👍👍⚒⚒.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions Chelms, its great when a player performs well enough to change our minds! let's hope JW does the same, as we all know your thoughts on him. Snodds is a great example, as I am sure all of us wouldn't have complained had he left in the summer. I am sure there are better players out there, but he is a player we can all be proud to see wearing the shirt, much like Nobes. Proper professional.
Chica's career stats always warranted his salary, as he is a proven player who has CONSISTENTLY scored more goals at the top level than anyone we have ever had. I do not begrudge the salary he is on. The fact is he has not done it for us so far, which is why many feel this way about him. HOWEVER, Chica needs a certain style of football to flourish, and that has not been provided by our teams under Slav and Moyes. MP is changing that though, and i really hope that this new style and confidence provides the platform for Chica to really flourish and score lots of goals for us. His effort on the pitch has always been there.

{Ed001's Note - I am confused, how is a player who was, by his own admittance, too fat to play well for more than a year a proper professional? I get Noble is, to a degree anyway, but Snodgrass only has himself to blame for his poor form.}

2.) 14 Dec 2018 14:12:30
He was always that weight and played very well for other teams, those previous managers never required/ told him to loose the weight to perform better, so its a bit unfair to say he was un-professional, he was just never coached properly in order to get even MORE out of him. Turned out that the level he was at was not good enough for West Ham, and eventually a good manager came in (Pellegrini) and told him what he needed to do in order to improve, and he did it when he could have easily thrown his toys out of the pram and left (especially after the owners comments last year) . He is also great at the non-football stuff around the club. IMO that is a great attitude and a proper professional.

3.) 14 Dec 2018 15:20:07
How did this go from Chicha to Snodgrass?

4.) 15 Dec 2018 10:44:25
I, too have been very sceltical about Hernandez, who always seems to react sulkily if things don’t go his way. His turnaround in form is very welcome, though.

Let’s see if the Fulham game is hot or cold for him - if it’s the latter, I’m betting he will be caught offside consistently as he scowls and stares at the ground.

If it’s the former and he bangs in a couple, I’ll take it!

5.) 15 Dec 2018 22:09:43
Make Ed right on this matter totally I know I go on far too much about astronomical wages but to be overweight is mostly his fault and the club for allowing to happen total lack of professionalism and duty to the football club and fans at least he's starting to earn his money and show us die hard SUPPORTERS some effort and commitment to the football club and lastly To CHELMSFORD it one thing to say what you think regarding CHIQUARITO saying you are anti the player but to then admit you may have been slightly wrong is nice to read so well done chelms it's all about opinion this game but to admit you could be wrong is not always forthcoming hope you andon't family are all good mate. COYI.

{Ed001's Note - and, by the way, he was never that weight previously by his own admittance. He has actually come out publicly and said so. I think Nickinho is living in some kind of dream world where Snodgrass was anything but a poor winger, prior to losing weight and improving his fitness. He did have fitness issues and was not training hard enough in the past and was overweight for a footballer, but not to the extent he was recently. The lad has never been a good pro at all. He has never put in the time on the training ground nor looked after himself properly away from the pitch in the past.

Fair play to him for realising it and working on it, but he should have been doing it ten years ago. That is partially on him and partially on previous clubs and managers.}

6.) 17 Dec 2018 09:08:51
Well said Ed, cannot believe the change in him, a player I thought a poor signing and a worse squad player.
Makes you wonder what Allardici and Bilic were doing fitness wise.
On another note, Caroll looked the leanest I have ever seen him on Saturday, reckon MP is working them all very hard, hope it all works well for us.

{Ed001's Note - you have to give a lot of credit to Pellegrini, he has got through to players that other managers couldn't get through to. It is something he has done throughout his career and why he has been at the highest level. It is also good to see him succeed because he is a nice guy.}

7.) 17 Dec 2018 16:50:29
I don't pretend to know Snodders' weight fluctuations prior to West Ham. You can only succeed at the tasks put in front of you, and he had succeeded at all his previous clubs (relative to their level) . When he arrived after Payet's departure, the team as a whole was not performing at all in the wake of the move to the OS and all the negativity surrounding the club. The manager did not have the ability to get a performance out of the team let alone Snods (I say that as a fan of Slav) and our owner was then completely out of order with his public comments which would ruin any player's motivation and commitment. Were it me at my job (regardless of money i was earning), if my manager or CEO made those re-marks publicly I would lose motivation also. He went away to Villa and was once again a success.
You are right, Pellegrini deserves the bulk of the credit for giving him the opportunity again at this level, and the direction on what to do in order to improve his game. But in my personal opinion I do not see the un-professional side to his story, and what he does now for the club is commendable.

{Ed001's Note - if you can't see what is unprofessional about being overweight as a professional athlete then I am wasting my time even talking to you.}

8.) 18 Dec 2018 14:10:49
Not every player is Ronaldo esq when it comes to their own physique, that's precisely why clubs have dieticians and fitness trainers in order to manage their levels so that they can perform to the levels their manager demands. A player's professionalism regards how they look after themselves is therefore dependant on whether they can physically perform to the level their manager demands, and i have highlighted how Snods has looked after himself professionally enough throughout his career to have been successful at all his previous clubs.

He did not put on weight at West Ham United, that was not the reason he did not succeed at first. He came into a team that was performing terribly during a negative period after leaving Upton Park, he was played out of position, and was unforgivably slated publicly by his owner because he could not fill the boots of a world class player in Payet. His comment stated that he lost some condition while at Villa in the Championship, where the physical demands are different. But he was still in good enough physical condition to exceed his managers demands and be one of the best players in that league that season.

He has simply come back to a league that demands more, and to work under a manager who prefers all his technical players to be much leaner than other managers do. You can see it in all of our players this season, they have all gotten leaner, and could all therefore say they were previously "overweight", simply because this manager demands more. Snodds has responded to meet those demands yet again.

Professionalism in any profession is ensuring you are able to perform to the level that meets the demands set out for you by those higher up. Snodgrass imo has done exactly that with regards his condition, and has exceeded it in regards to his non footballing duties at WHU. Just because a player is not as fit as Ronaldo does not mean you question their professionalism.

07 Dec 2018 08:13:56
Apparently MP is interested in Valencia at ManU to replace Zabaletta, another younger oldie to replace another oldie? Not quite sure about that but has been really decent in the past! Also has given Carroll a contract warning that he needs to play more often to win a new contract, well hopefully that's dead in the water! Pity he didn't think to say that to Wilshere before he signed him!

Chelmsford1944

1.) 07 Dec 2018 10:29:00
I see that about Valencia as well Chelmsford, I don't know how long Fredericks is out for but once fit we need to give him a few minutes on the pitch to get him up to speed and give him confidence, I also see Nasri is set to sign on wages believed to be £80-£100k a week, what must Rice be thinking, I would rather get in a couple of loans in January and concentrate on Rice's contract.

2.) 07 Dec 2018 13:23:48
The paramount thing that WH should do is get Rice on a new contract NOW. paying above average wages to has beens does not give a good impression to Rice, he must wonder what is going on around him. If we lose Rice it would be devastating to the supporters.

3.) 07 Dec 2018 14:08:55
Hammer man, it wouldn't just be devastating, I think there would be a bloody riot, you will get banners at home games saying BOARD OUT, and we don't really want all that to start up again, let's hope it is all being sorted out behind the scenes?

4.) 07 Dec 2018 18:11:52
So what can the problem be by not getting Rice on a long term contract. Its about time we were told the truth, or is it just our board being stubborn. It can't be that the club can't afford it as we are paying squad players drastically over the odds.

5.) 07 Dec 2018 20:40:32
As I said above, and playing devils advocate above, maybe it’s his agent and Rice who don’t want to negotiate yet?

29 Nov 2018 09:41:09
Regarding the Rice situation and Sullivan / whoever else is concerned, from an outside point of view, we all want to see progression for our club and gain respectability within the Premiership and are all must be fed up with us continually languishing in the relegation zone! The opinion seems to be "Sullivan is shrewd" yes maybe but everybody has weaknesses and makes mistakes, maybe in the world of porn he was extremely successful, making money he has been successful, but running a football club, maybe not so successful in winning some silverware and gaining respectability!

We have become easy touches for wasting money on huge wages, that's not shrewd look at Levy at Spurs, now he is what I call shrewd, fantastic Manager, great players, great football, I am now thinking the board has given Pellegrini to much control in desperation for success, I would simply not give anybody that much control if I had invested tens of £millions, that's not shrewd in my opinion! your employee can walk away without a worry in the world with their bank stuffed with £millions for being a failure! I hope by the end of the season I am proved wrong on all accounts!

Why are we supposedly interested in another foreign "hopeful" for future investment in Moreira the Portuguese youngster? I am bloody baffled given our history of youngsters we have on our books that seem to moving nowhere near Premiership ability? I have no knowledge of foreign players so may seem silly to comment, but they may find the lure of the Premiership payday too irresistible to resist knowing it doesn't matter if they don't make it! We should be concentrating on signing Players that can hit the ground running!

Chelmsford1944

1.) 12 Mar 2019 09:16:02
We are doing the same as the big clubs, buy cheap young players, develop them, loan them out (maybe they will come good) but eventually sell on for a massive profit.
If you look at Chelsea, Man City, Barcelona they all do this and make fortunes on the players - its a good way to make a bit of extra money.

2.) 12 Mar 2019 14:15:39
I totally agree the logic is right Glenn, but the 3 clubs you mentioned haven’t been successful on the back of buying cheap then selling for massive profits that’s for sure! That imo is almost a sideline when you are very successful club that are winning or have won meaningful trophies or titles that establish you on a more world wide basis!

17 Feb 2019 15:21:21
I read Cardiff are seeking opinions from other Premiership league clubs to see how they stand on paying the £15m fee to Nantes for the awful tragic death of Emiliano Sala! I am staggered at even the implication that they will not pay! Who are running the club, unscrupulous business people? If we move house and Insure the new property and before we move in, the house is destroyed by a fire, we would rightly be expecting to be fully insured? This is the best example I can think of coming anywhere near what this poor family is going through? The FA should impose an automatic relegation clause that will be implemented if Cardiff fail to pay Nantes! I would hang my head in shame if I supported Cardiff if that happened! Be interesting to hear other views on this?

Chelmsford1944

1.) 17 Feb 2019 20:16:43
If anything. all money should be given to the family of sala and the pilot. That's the decent thing to do.

2.) 17 Feb 2019 21:50:08
Hammer, Yes a really good suggestion or at least a large percentage👍👍.

3.) 17 Feb 2019 22:51:25
Realistically football clubs are businesses now and as abhorrent as it may seem Cardiff are probably going through a process they need to. While I understand the analogy to the house this is more complex because there is an employment contract with the employee and then there is a transfer process which complicates it. If there is an insurance policy that will respond in order for it to pay out there will be an obligation for Cardiff not to settle without defending their position and so this may just part of that process.

4.) 18 Feb 2019 01:32:57
Cardiff’s case is well they legally they havnt got one, Sala had a medical and signed a 3-5 year deal with them, ar which point he became a Cardiff player, Now the welsh club at that point should Have insured that player as part of their squad, , or did they? That’s the question, Nantes are within there rights to expect the payment agreement to stand, as far as I can see, why not? Under the unfortunate circumstances, , Cardiff are trying to twist and turn, perhaps they are not insured or to the full amount, we shall see. IRONMIKE.

5.) 18 Feb 2019 16:08:05
Mike, I am really pleased to hear you say Cardiff do not seem to have a case to wriggle out of payment, I know very little about Football law or contracts, but experience of life in general tells me that nobody are forced to pay whatever price for anything? I find it totally ridiculous to suggest the agent inflated the price by saying other clubs were interested in buying Sala, Cardiff were not forced to buy him, surely the agent was only doing what is done constantly in business and in a sales environment to instigate a sale?

{Ed002's Note - There was interest in Sala from other sides so it wasn't misleading.}

6.) 19 Feb 2019 03:24:56
YES there was interest of course, BUT Cardiff called off this transfer and, then renegotiated it, at their own volition then as you qute rightly said NO one had a gun put to their heads and said buy him and McKay apparently helped negotiate easier terms than the initial agreement AND Cardiff are not telling the truth anyway ITS BECAUSE they have underinsured the player They want other clubs, to quote their, valuations, WH was Around 10m, so they can say they overpaid, ( for that player ) but that’s their problem . It’s ridiculous OH just wait a second now they are now saying the player wasn’t registered, as their player anyway well if he wasn’t you don’t need to write letters to anybody as he isn’t your player unless registered, . THE FA need. To sort this out Because Cardiff are not telling the truth one way or the other NANTES have done nothing wrong IRONMIKE.

7.) 19 Feb 2019 07:24:33
Mike, Great bit of research, bloody snaky b———-s, no more than pin striped robbing gangsters for me running the club, there are moral issues here as well, that for me override legal issues whether they exist or not! I would like to see clubs refuse to deal with Cardiff whilst that man is in control. We all know they are running a business but so are Nantes, so pay up what you owe Cardiff, if not that man should not be allowed to have any financial interest or investment in a Football club!

11 Feb 2019 17:12:00
Thought Palace should have had all 3 points on Saturday if just one of the numerous glaring misses was tucked away, we were overrun in the second half, think they are unlucky to be in the position they are in!
I would have Zaha in our team any time over a number of our players, he terrorises defences with his pace and energy, wouldn't worry about his diving if he played for us, pity he didn't chose England over the Ivory Coast! Palace aren't the same side without him, he is Palaces most prized asset, amazed if he doesn't go elsewhere in the summer, but Roy will try his utmost to hang on to him!

Chelmsford1944

1.) 12 Feb 2019 08:24:37
like the eds previously said though he can't perform unless he is the main man and loved otherwise he goes missing like at man united so he went back home where he knew he would be alright again.

2.) 12 Feb 2019 17:38:37
Noel, agreed, it’s maybe a scenario of “grass looking greener” he was then a prospective big fish in a bloody big fish pool, often think it better to be a big fish in a small pool, than the reverse scenario, unless you are world class!

3.) 13 Feb 2019 12:56:59
Palace had the chances to beat us 3-1 easily, and should have. First half was an entertaining and even match, but the second half they seemed possessed and deserved three points on the chances they created! MOTD did not do it justice putting it last, it was entertaining!
HOWEVER, a second yellow for their captain should have been given, and on THIS basis (that is was not given) i think it was a fair result.

04 Jan 2019 16:47:01
Seems a good game to give Nasri a run out tomorrow along with some youngsters with experienced back up on the bench, a decent cup run would be good? ⚒⚒⚒.

Chelmsford1944

1.) 04 Jan 2019 17:02:03
Cant see pelle taking a huge risk tomorrow he won't underestimate the opposition I doubt.

2.) 04 Jan 2019 17:40:55
Agreed, but it seems standard ruling almost states that some less experienced have a bit of playing time in competitions or they won’t ever gain experience, plus it gives some of the regulars a bit of a rest, the poor overworked first teamers might get early burn out, I wonder how they would cope with proper jobs🤣🤣 I read years ago Norwich had a tough Scottish centre half named Duncan Forbes, in the close season he apparently worked on building sites to keep himself grounded and appreciate what he had playing football, plus in those days they only paid half wages in the close season, how times have changed🤣😂⚒⚒⚒.

3.) 04 Jan 2019 19:03:55
So will he start with youngsters and then replace with first teamers from the bench if it’s not going well, or start with more first teamers and replace with youngsters if we’re winning comfortably?

4.) 05 Jan 2019 13:30:21
mix of both usually.

11 Dec 2018 14:48:04
always easy with hindsight, but Watford boss commenting on Quina's ability and contribution in the Everton game for Watford on Monday night, we let him go for £1m😲😲 Somebody at Watford had possibly better judgement than the WH staff, well maybe? Apparently cosldered not to be able to adapt to the Premiership, well, he is only 19, should have given the boy more of a chance maybe? Sill who cares, it's only a £1m😠😠😠⚒⚒⚒.

Chelmsford1944

1.) 11 Dec 2018 15:51:04
does he have a sell-on clause?
If so, smart as lad clearly wanted out and can cash in when the big boys come knocking.

2.) 11 Dec 2018 18:22:04
Yes he does. IRONMIKE.

3.) 12 Dec 2018 07:17:49
What % Mike?

4.) 12 Dec 2018 08:28:36
Fantastic news Ironmike, if he becomes a 30m+ player should get a nice little chunk of it.
Having searched the mire that is twitter looks like 10%? Not too shabby as don't pay his wages and get 'free' money in a couple of years.

5.) 12 Dec 2018 10:49:11
It must be remembered how difficult it is to hold onto players who constantly agitate especially when they are not even in the squad So descisions must be made And WH will pick up 10% of any sell on fee in one payment. IRONMIKE.

6.) 12 Dec 2018 16:04:11
Need to remember the player had a very short time left on his contract and had not proved his talents in the few chances he got. Any offer from West Ham would have come with little guarantee of first team football, and having made little impact himslef more players were going to be bought in summer that would go ahead of him in the pecking order (Anderson, Yarmolenko, Wilshire) . Little chance he was ever going to extend his contract in this case so we got what we could for him. Shame, as i think he will be a good player in the future, how good I do not know, Slav was an admirer and said he was like Modric in style. Diangana has been more effective than Quina was, and Holland and Silva both look to be as good IMO.
Should have had him on a longer contract in the first place though.

7.) 15 Dec 2018 22:29:18
Quinna is a luxury we couldn't fit into our team unfortunately but when I did see him in a west gam shirt he never once impressed me unlike Diana who will turn out the better option IMO. COYI.

Markro, if the foreign players currently linked with us are bounty hunters then we have a chance, but realistically any of those that have ambition for European football, I don’t think we have any chance, unless we are a stepping stone? I know you are the eternal optimist Mark, which is great, I seem the opposite I know, but unless we put ourselves in the limelight for the right reasons, we will stay a mid table Premiership club, but it could be worse realistically! ⚒⚒⚒.

Markro, yes I will agree with all you say, but as always it’s down to who wants to come to us not who we want unfortunately? I think it’s all a bit silly reading about we’re interested in this one then that one, knowing none are seriously coming to us! it’s all so stupid, then as Mike said in a post about home grown players becoming super expensive after Brexit? Shelvey’s been linked with us for a while, I can’t believe that players when they are linked to other clubs don’t tap others at that club for info? He’s a London bloke, I personally would not Like to freeze in the north east being an Essex man!

Whorya, yes Bacuna would be a great addition for us, Premiership savvy, no settling in to worry about, must be other vultures hovering around the relegation possibles eying the likes of him up though? He is a young Dutch boy on a 3 year deal from 2018 with a further year option after that, he was very prominent for Huddersfield yesterday! Our defence yesterday was non existent almost at times, at 3-3 it looked almost certain for them to score when there were at least 2 Terriers 3 yards from goal with only Fabianski to beat when he pulled off another game changing save and the second attempt was blazed over the bar, had they scored it would have been disgraceful after the comeback from 1-3 down! Lucky we were not in the position we have been at this time for the last season or so when that huge miss happened!

Leave him out and get rid! I am not a fan at all of this short passing possession football, especially passing it backwards, get it upfield into the opposing area! Not an Hernandez fan, but he did it for us today, great diving header goal when he could have gone with his feet👍👍.

Markro/ Stevie, the predicted line up either way looks good to me with surely goals in it for us, whether we have either Lanzini or Antonio in today, it still looks a strong team to me, but performances can differ so greatly from exspectancy as we know! It looks like Arnie is in, I hope he gets his legs in gear and decides to show some fight and determination for the team instead of looking like a lazy so and so that couldn’t care less, we all know how he can terrorise defences and score goals when he decides to turn up! Maybe either of your predictions could just happen, but I will be more than happy with a one goal difference in our favour👍🤞🤞⚒⚒⚒⚒COYI.

Stevie66, think your prediction could be wildly over optimistic🤣😂Huddersfield May have been the whipping boys for a lot of teams, but we are WH and have a massive history of folding up against those we are expected to beat, the most recent obvious example AFC Wimbledon! I think the Yorkshire side are a good hard working side with no so called “ superstars” with a good work ethic, which is more than can be said of at least a couple of ours! They are in the position they are for obvious reasons, but away to us they will see us as a scalp to be taken! I just hope we can score more than them on Saturday even if it’s not 5-0😂🤣 Apologies mate for being the voice of caution, I hope you can tell me “I told you so” 🤣👍⚒⚒⚒COYI.
