West Ham Transfer Rumours

Use our rumours form to send us nottingham forest transfer rumours.

23 Feb 2019 21:27:58
I don’t expect much away at City, but I’d like to see Lanzini in for Snodgrass. We might as well take the attack to them.

We can and should however, win all four of our games in March, which will push us closer to that seventh spot.

Agree0 Disagree1

24 Feb 2019 07:58:04
As long as we aren’t in a relegation battle, which we won’t be and don’t qualify for Europe in any way, I will be more than happy! I think European games knacker players, pick up minor or major injuries that affect Premiership form unless you have a really sizeable squad that can replicate each other when replaced like for like, then for me Euro football is an unwanted stamina and injury sapping competition! How long has “burn out” been cited as a factor to shortening form or injuries. If we can afford to waste as much money as we have paying astronomical wages to players that are simply non Premiership standard quality, we are not in need of any European earnings!

24 Feb 2019 10:38:32
Ambition is a great thing, but we must not fall into the trap that Burnley did this season and qualify for the second rate European competition. Look what a disaster for them and the many clubs that preceded them over the years. That competition is a poison chalice and we must steer clear of it. A Premier league season wrecker in my opinion.

24 Feb 2019 11:56:27
On the other hand chaps, am I right in saying by winning the Europa league you qualify for champions league, that could be our only way to get to play champions league football (as it's going to be difficult to get into the top four, ) therefore attracting quality players, but I completely understand what you're saying.

24 Feb 2019 12:13:00
I understand the hesitation/ reluctance to be involved in Europe if the squad isn’t up to it, but we do need to have ambition moving forward.

With the apocalyptic clearout that is going to happen this summer, we could well be on the way to strength in depth with players MP has chosen (and we know that he assembles top squads) .

I also have real optimism about the rest of the season with our injured players returning.

Take a look at our March fixtures -

Newcastle (H)
Cardiff (A)
Huddersfield (H)
Everton (H)

I can’t see why we shouldn’t have a good shot at all 12 points, which would boost confidence for the trickier fixtures in April.

Happier days ahead. 😃.

24 Feb 2019 20:14:59
I agree with Marko and think we should be bold and go for it.
In regards to Burnley I can’t help thinking their dreadful form had a lot to do with Dyche’s insistance on picking Joe Hart who I think is a terrible keeper. Since they have put Heaton back between the sticks they have won a lot of games and lots of clean sheets!

25 Feb 2019 13:09:45
Europa League is only negative for clubs who cannot assemble a decent LARGE squad, and with no disrespect to Burnley, they couldn't do this. Their league success that got them there was based upon a team with little rotation and injury and a GREAT first half to the season. Their decline started in February 2018, NOT once the Europa league games started in Late July. In summer they did not have funds, or the attraction, for better players to build a capable squad, and they suffered injuries in goal. In short, their poor from in the first half of this season mirrored their form in the second half of last season, it had nothing to do with Europa at all.
WHU are different, we have a bigger wage budget that COULD assemble a squad, providing the wage structure is managed well. And i believe we have a manager who will only show ambition to win things. He talks about a big club mentality, well that means winning whatever you can. If we get some luck, our INJURIES will not be half as bad next season and we will have a squad again.
With CL an option now via Europa i think it is attractive, it does help attract players, and we have a good crop in the U23s that could be given more opportunity.

25 Feb 2019 23:38:19
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and there is no right or wrong but for me I rather we qualify for Europa league and play in it than not. Doubt we would win it at this stage and it would be a distraction but so is the FA Cup and EFL Cup. If we want to move forward we need to be competing in these things.

Success leads to more success. Teams that play in the Europa league, while not Champions league status, do get noticed by players across Europe and would allow us to sign some players who might not join otherwise. Also players we do have will want to achieve things and playing in Europe is one of those things.

26 Feb 2019 07:45:17
MP refers to the importance of a “big team” mentality.

Big teams play in Europe.

26 Feb 2019 11:48:18
Yeah, I for one would love a crack at Europe. Can even blood some of the younger talent a lot more for the really easy games. Would be a great experience for them and indeed a carrot to help attract top talent.

23 Feb 2019 11:37:28
Another forward being looked at is Joelinton of Hoffenheim, he joins the list, apparently a couple of clubs trying to make a precontract deal for him IRONMIKE.

{Ed002's Note - He cannot sign a pre-contract - that is illegal.}

Agree8 Disagree0

23 Feb 2019 12:21:21
Best tell that to Newcastle not WH, they are on the job, but unlikely to get him IRONMIKE.

{Ed002's Note - Newcastle are not looking for a pre-contract with the player - that is illegal and they understand the rules whereas others clearly don't.}

23 Feb 2019 18:00:37
Ramsay has a pre - contract?

{Ed002's Note - He does indeed.}

24 Feb 2019 03:22:44
ITS the age of this striker principally, that prevents a precontract, BUT doesn’t stop an agreement;t in principle. IRONMIKE.

{Ed002's Note - Try and stop making stuff up MIke, it is really embarrassing.}

24 Feb 2019 19:56:50
would that not be like tapping up a player?

24 Feb 2019 20:30:32
by pre contract i presume mike means do a deal with hoffenheim where as the fee and deal with hoffenheim where we agree a price and then talk to said player about wages etc-get it all agreed before window opens-then opening day of window announce it it formally and all is legal, this is common place and happens regularly does it not.

{Ed002's Note - No, he doesn't know what he means and then is making stuff up about the age of the player. I don't know why you wish to drag this out - he simply does not understand the rules and constantly makes stuff up.}

25 Feb 2019 07:51:07
I don’t expect anyone on here to be an all-knowing guru.

Civil disagreement is a healthy thing, but why push it to be unsavoury?

I enjoy the debate, but not the pettiness.

25 Feb 2019 16:10:10
I have read this site continually for a while and if people pm here haven't worked out yet that It ironmike talks out of his arse most of the time and that ed002 is just trying to save you from getting your hopes up then you are just nieve
Ed002 keep calling him out he might go away again.

25 Feb 2019 18:35:04
I reckon it’s naive to call someone nieve (which, ironically, means closed hand or fist) .

25 Feb 2019 19:52:19
He's contracted until 2022 by all accounts so won't be signing a pre contract (which someone in last 6 months of their deal can do if moving abroad I believe) with anyone.

28 Feb 2019 07:01:59
What’s the problem? It’s a rumour site, is there any need to start getting personal, it’s ridiculous, people of all ages read this to see how their team are doing or what they are doing and they read this, grow up for god sake, there’s no need to question what’s written to the point of causing an argument and to tell people to leave. It’s like a school play ground, people post and people read, if u really want to waste your time replying to cause arguments, or attack other people then do it somewhere else. Show a bit of respect, my nephew and his sister read this show site to see how there team are going and they read this it’s bad enough that they listen this sort a stuff at school, he said she said. It’s embarrassing. everytime mike posts Ed shoots him down like a bully or troll, it never used to happen but it’s all the time, good way to set an example.
Joke it is sort ya selves out.

28 Feb 2019 18:31:28
Well said Whitby. All these people who keep slating people are so ridiculous who hide behind their computer. It goes to show how immature these people are (we know who they are. I won't post names as they never get posted) . If you don't like what someone says. then either don't read it . or go somewhere else. It's a shame that people resort to this. as Whitby says. mlots of young people will read this. show some respect. we like mike's posts. immature.

01 Mar 2019 00:46:00
Whitby and Hammerdave I loudly applaud you both! Ed02 wrote a fantastic response to Warringtons question a couple of weeks ago that was informative and in depth and really appreciated but I feel their responses to Mike are unnecessarily harsh and unpleasant. Mike voluntarily offers information that is rumour, this is a rumour site. Both Ed02 and Mike have a place on it. Ironbax who has come on telling Ed to bully Mike off the site in my opinion should zip it .

01 Mar 2019 06:05:54
Agree dab. I appreciate everyone's contribution on this site. whether that be accurate or not. At the ends of the day. it's a rumour site. nothing is guaranteed.

{Ed001's Note - but Mike is not claiming to be giving rumours, he is claiming to be giving legitimate information, then refusing to accept when any of it is not true and arguing and making nasty little digs at Ed002 that I have to delete. Mike has been doing this for years, passing on stuff that is patently not true and then getting all arsey when anyone points out that it is utter bull, which it is.

Perhaps if he would stop claiming it is all true and would accept when people who actually do have information point out that what he is saying is untrue, things would be a lot better.

I know you don't see what we delete, so you are only seeing a part of the conversation, but it is not one way, it is not Ed002 being a bully or a troll. I fail to see why anyone has a problem when false information is pointed out? Or do you just want to be fed patently false stories?}

01 Mar 2019 17:38:31
Look . I think we should just let things be. There are worse things happening in the world. I understand your point ed and I can see that you care about the fans giving good info. I just think the way it's been handled has been poor. i'm sure everyone appreciates your input as it's always top notch. And the same goes for Mike. In my view you are both so valuable to the site and give us fans a great insight into what's happening with the club. we don't expect every post to be true but appreciate the effort you both make. Can everyone just move on from this and just show a bit of kindness.

02 Mar 2019 10:55:06
Amen to that.

05 Mar 2019 11:42:29
C'mon guys, this is generally a friendly site.
How about ED002, when something is written that is patently untrue, simply do not publish.
I get Mike meant a verbal agreement (we all know these are illegal - but have been going on for years with agents), I just googled and saw the lad had a contract to 2022 so wasn't possible to get a precontract.
Also, the player in question looks sh! te.

{Ed002's Note - Not about his age then? Why open this up again?}

06 Mar 2019 13:41:51
Fair enough, always wait for your responses anyway - loved the insight into how transfer monies were paid and the info around how work permits are allocated, has been really useful in sifting through the junk.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks.}

22 Feb 2019 10:26:19
TEA PARTY gathering This weekend, to discuss ATALANTAS proposal of pre contract deal for Duvan . Zapata The Italians have a fixed option deal with Sampadoria ( 22 -5 m euro ) for Zapata who is currently at Atalanta on loan WH are being asked 40m euro with Sampadorias fee being payable on agreement the balance following season, nice quick profit for Atalanta WHILST Zapata is blowing hot at present. He would be. 28 on joining us, It's a quandry , and while I think he would do well for us, should we not be looking for players below 24, Gomez is now unlikely with. Barcelona about and it looks like we will be pursuing 3/ 4 forwards IRONMIKE.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Feb 2019 17:02:44
He is Sampdoria's player though, innit? Only on loan at Atalanta.
So surely any pre-contract agreements would have to go through Sampdoria first and Atalanta second, right?

23 Feb 2019 00:57:50
That’s exactly. What I have said in the post IRONMIKE.

23 Feb 2019 10:26:28
I just find it strange that a club that doesn't own a player yet is initiating transfer discussions.
I know that clauses are the norm now where a loan player can be bought for a fixed price when the loan expires. I just didn't think the loaning club would be in a position to confidently put a player on the market that isn't even their player yet. It somehow feels weird.

23 Feb 2019 11:01:58
May feel strange but that’s how it is, , I know that Husillos is very keen on this player, He is a proper forward no question. It’s his age and the amount we have to pay is one half of our standing budget ( pre sales ) , it’s a difficult call, if we take him maybe we will try to keep hold of Arnie, and look for a secondary younger striker to make three Three out three in, we have the wage caoacity no problem, with so many players ready for the exit door, IRONMIKE.

24 Feb 2019 08:56:53
I suppose it depends on the type of player. If Zapata doesn’t rely solely on pace, it’s less of an issue. In any event he’s 28 on April 1st (! ) - surely he should have a good 4 years left at the top level.

Dolberg might well be a better option.

Anyone know anything about Chalov?

24 Feb 2019 09:05:42
As for agreement between the clubs:

Because Atalanta can enforce the option to buy from Sampdoria, there would need to be an agreement between Atalanta and WH before Atalanta confirm they are pursuing their option to buy.

In effect, they are saying to WH, “If he becomes our player, will you commit to buying him from us? ”.

24 Feb 2019 11:31:03
Correct. IRONMIKE.

20 Feb 2019 09:57:59
Mike, Ed002

I wonder if you could explain the situation with transfers from abroad once the UK leave the EU, am I right in saying at the moment if a player is from a EU nation he can just move to an English club no problem but if from outside the EU needs a work permit. Once the UK leave will all players coming in from abroad require a work permit?

I could be totally wrong on the above and would appreciate some guidance.

{Ed002's Note - A good question and the final answer has yet to be determined, but right now it goes something like this:
- If the player is an EU citizen he is allowed to work in the UK without the need for a Work Permit or Visa under the provisions of the treaty covering free movement.
- This also applies to uncontracted players under the Bosman Decision.
- Players from outside the EU need Government Body Endorsement and a Work Permit and the rules are stricter than they were (see at the end).
- There are different types of Work Permits available and typically two apply to footballers. Tier 2 means that the player can stay in the UK with a two year extention if they have 70 immigration points (which requires an FA endorsement, 10 for providing proof he won't be a strain on the state and 10 for the command of the English language (important). A Tier 5 WP only lasts a year where failure is on the English language test. It allows him to play and then master the language, sit a test and then apply for Tier 2 WP. Extensions can be provided to the length of contract.
- Moving forward post Brexit there is no decision but it has been discussed. One idea on the table is that any new application for EU citizens to move to the Premier League or move between PL clubs) will be the same process as for non EU players, and that players already at PL clubs will be given an exemption for the length of their existing contract.

The Work Permit requirements:

The player needs a minimum of four points and summary goes something like this:
- The value of the transfer fee (alone) that is to be paid is between the top 75% and 100% of all transfers to Premier League clubs in the previous 2 windows - 3 points
- The value of the transfer fee being paid for the player is between 50% and 75% of all transfers to Premier League clubs in the previous 2 windows - 2 points
- The basic wage (excluding bonuses) being paid to the player by the new club is in the top 25% of the top 30 earners at the club - 3 points
- The basic wage (excluding bonuses) being paid to the player by the new club is between 50% and 75% of all the top 30 earners at the club - 2 points
- Subjectively, the player’s current club is in a recognised "top" league and the player has played in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes - 1 point
- The player’s existing club has played in the group stages or onwards of the Champions League, Europa League or the Copa Libertadores within the last 12 months and the player has played in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes - 1 point
}

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Feb 2019 11:57:00
An excellent explanation but as I mentioned last week I’m sure a good proportion of this is going to change, so won’t be relevant / maybe not too radically at the end of this season, , but it will over the course next 2/ 3 seasons The FA will ring the changes, NOTE, Man City are already looking for more U. K. talent, and they will drive up the prices, of Home grown lads. IRONMIKE.

{Ed002's Note - I am not so sure what won't be relevant. Many of the clubs are looking to HG players to bolster the squad but this results in prices rising sadly.}

20 Feb 2019 12:22:37
Goodness Thanks Ed 002, very informative and in depth and much appreciated.

Now for my 2nd question albeit in theory.

When leaving the EU and its regulations, if the Premier League or FA wanted to ( massive if), could they bring in a rule where as only a certain amount of non UK players can be in a squad?,

Basically what i'm getting at could they go back to the days when I think only 2 foreign players were allowed in a team. Obviously this won't happen but I just wanted to know if they wanted to could they as no longer under EU Working Law.

{Ed002's Note - They will not look to change the rule in that way and it won't be related to non-EU players, but they may look to increase the HG quota from 8 to something else (12 has been proposed). The means the non HG quota would reduce to 13 and they would also have to amend the rules as some of the HG quota will be EU or even non EU (rest of the world) nationals (e.g. Nathan Ake is HG but an EU national.}

20 Feb 2019 13:11:28
Edd002 note, bloody hell Ed, well done for the info on Warrington’s post👍Think I would have been inclined to say, no idea, look up for yourself😂🤣 Understood some but, became a bit complicated for me, but they pay their own people good money to sort it out! I ‘m only interested in who WH, sign not who they can’t sign! Looks like we could have some favourites back in again on Friday from injury, so that will be very interesting, if Lanzini gets on, he will get some ovation from the Stadium, what a massive miss he has been. Don’t want to tempt fate, but should be 3 points for us here⚒⚒⚒⚒COYI.

20 Feb 2019 15:42:18
Thanks for the info Ed and the time taken to write it, much appreciated.

21 Feb 2019 08:54:22
Awesome work. Thanks Ed.

24 Feb 2019 12:23:49
Just a thought on the potential requirement for more HG players - if fewer superstars can be in the PL and its quality, by definition, goes down, I wonder if tv rights will be less attractive and packages will suffer.

Id be AMAZED if any top club would pay £35million for ARNAUTOVIC in the summer he isn't IMO good enough for the top 4 or 5 and theywouldnt be attractedto him and a lowerclub he wouldn't be interested in as he thinks he's top top draw and he ain't IMO he's good but not near good enough if I was asked but i'm not so i will go now bye. COYI.

24 Feb 2019 12:24:46
Ask his brother. 😉.

19 Feb 2019 12:46:50
Remember in your thinking that although we will have many leaving us this summer, they are not going to raise a fortune on a combined basis, , and Although I expect us to once again have a go in the market It's going to be a bit less than last season plus sales, for that reason no doubt we will be looking at a few free agents along the way, it's a fact of life, and another reason, we are trying to increase slowly the ground capacity, for that revenue to go into the kitty There's also a clearance in place mentally for the u 23 squad as well, IRONMIKE.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 05:22:42
Interesting little development WH have had meeting with Brother of Arnautovic, and have told him if he wants to arrange a pre contract agreement for Arnie elsewhere Including the UK they say no problem he is free to do so, WH are willing to accept an offer of. 35m ( which is fractionally less ) than they were offered in January NOW this is laying down the law big time, plenty of fish in the sea say WH Brother in shock, bluff called , WH now trying to push the player out. IRONMIKE.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 06:59:06
Mike, that’s great news for me, get rid of him! I was a massive Arnie fan when he had settled down after he was moved up front by D, Moyes, for one reason or another he is a major irritant and possibly disruptive influence within the club now, when he has played recently he has been almost anonymous with a “cannot be bothered” attitude! We are safe now within reason, give others a chance that are prepared to at least put effort in, we have virtually nobody of any quality that we can call a goal scorer up front anyway, Hernandez, rubbish, Carroll, well no comment, so we have nothing to lose! We did well enough without him when he sulking for a 4 week period when we scored 12 goals in 4 games!

19 Feb 2019 09:26:11
I am still an Arnie fan. Last season, as you say Chelmsford, under Moyes he was basically responsible for getting us out of the relegation places with the goals he scored.

This season not so good and when he was injured we went on a winning streak when he was injured. Now the attitude is all wrong so he needs confidence and a bit of clever player management from the coaches ala Moyes it's all about Motivation and he needs some.

19 Feb 2019 11:08:35
Mike I don't get your latest post on WH stance on Arnie, on 3 points

Firstly if they are willing to accept a little bit under what was offered why didn't they just sell him in Jan?

Secondly why on earth let the brother know what they would accept in money wise?, if he came back and bangs in the goals some team somewhere may offer more than the £35m

Thirdly, why tell the brother now?, Arnie can throw more toys out the pram than Hamelys in London, surely if he knows we don't want him he will sulk and not give his best especially if we gave him an improved contract in Jan, and going back to my first point why did they not just get rid?

Sorry I may be missing something but I just don't get it.

19 Feb 2019 11:38:13
Firstly it’s clear WH now think they should have taken the money in January, it was the thought THEN, that they don’t want to lose a top player halfway through the season Ok , BUT they have now taken the stance, that they can buy elsewhere, which they can, and Arnie is now going through the motions looking disinterested, what do we need that behaviour for. ? With the season, at the 12 game stage, we need perhaps 6 points to secure safety, we don't look likely to do much in the upward direction, so it’s avery good time. To start weighing things up for the future, where we will have a bus load leaving for one reason or another shortly, it’s going to be busy busy. IRONMIKE.

19 Feb 2019 14:02:50
The difference between January and the summer is that we weren't able to secure a replacement in January.

Also prices are always inflated in January (for the reason above) so would Arnie's price have been.

Looks like they are going to try and get the summer business done early if they can and need to have a plan in place.

19 Feb 2019 14:57:43
For me, MP’s take must be that he no longer wants Arnie. The disruption caused over the winter window will have irritated him and that was all down to brothers Arnautovic.

The squad was unsettled and results suffered.

As we had no success in acquiring a top replacement, I can fully understand the club’s refusal to let him go.

In order to be able to move on somewhere for a better payday, Arnie will need to up his game and make himself an attractive proposition, whether that’s for China, or elsewhere.

Perez is done, Chicha wants to move and Carroll has no hope of another contract.

MP will have the interesting and exciting task of completely revamping the tip of our strike force.

I am still looking forward to the rest of this season, especially with Manu’s return and others returning from injury, but I can see next season as being a real breakthrough one.

Ever the optimist. 😏.

19 Feb 2019 23:50:52
The Chinese window is still open so theoretically could still sell him and get more now than they would at the end of the season. So if MO and the club really feel his disruptive influence outweighs the need for a striker till the end of the season they could still sell him. So not sure how much of this is true and how much is speculation.

20 Feb 2019 00:58:05
No it’s not speculation, yes he can be off now, eastbound, BUT can’t be replaced, so it’s pointless, considering, the other options up front, that’s why he’s still with us morelike IRONMIKE.

20 Feb 2019 03:57:39
Well if true sounds like really poor player management. If he is so disruptive let him go now. If he isn’t and you want him to put in effort till the end of the season then talk to the player about helping him achieve his ambitions with a move at the end of the season if he commits himself now. To go to his brother and say what has been suggested means you keep him around, make him more likely to continue being sullen and stroppy, and achieve nothing. Great plan.

20 Feb 2019 05:25:02
I would say the die is already cast IRONMIKE.

18 Feb 2019 16:47:19

18 Feb 2019 18:18:11
No thanks.

We do not need to invest silly wages on very short term, diminishing players.

18 Feb 2019 18:18:39
No thanks👎👎.

19 Feb 2019 02:55:52
At this time there’s nothing of substance to make comment on IRONMIKE.

19 Feb 2019 15:48:54
There's nothing wrong with having experienced players in the squad (Zaba has been brilliant)

Fredericks doesn't look like he is 100% up to PL standard yet but I think he'll get there

So an experienced option seems like a decent plan when we don't need to splash a lot of cash on a player in that position.

18 Feb 2019 15:19:48
Fiorentina have a fixed optiion on Fernandez contrary to what has been said, it is 7-75 m euro, , the Italians have not yet made a descision IRONMIKE.

18 Feb 2019 18:19:40
With the way he’s currently playing, that’s as cheap as chips. I’d be amazed if they don’t snap him up.

18 Feb 2019 20:27:09
He's been pony for most of the season in all honesty, which is why Fiorentina are procrastinating about buying him but have already decided to buy their other loanee Luis Muriel.

18 Feb 2019 15:11:07
Good planning idea by moving the two stands forward seating wise there will be extra four rows for new supporters at the present rear which will be available at a cheaper price Having now a 60;000 capacity, this is likely to raise it to 64 000 in the short term, and 66-000 a little later. There is no real reason, why both the main stands cannot come forward a little as well, This ground was originally built to have a 72;000 capacity, with some clever juggling, there is no reason why this total cannot eventually be reached. IRONMIKE.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 15:35:26
Hi Mike agree with you on that. There is also the possibility of adding seating in the space between the bridges on the West stand below the directors box both to the left and right, at the moment this space is just safety netting so could get seating in this space with a reasonable rake - maybe even safe standing.

Yup, WH are also in discussions about using also the very top perimeter the whole way around the ground this is the real gem , this is a tricky one because elf and safety have negated this before quoting access maybe needed from the top down Hiwever, because the squab is already in place, it’ would be easy to do would cost About 100k to install 6000seats, so the economics here are staggeringly profitable this in addition to the current plans would make the money roll in, giving WH the ultimate virtuous circle. IRONMIKE.
