We are being linked with Joan Jordan again any truth in these rumours ed?

I like him I'd actually prefure him over Gomes, the price being quoted seems fairly low too.

Iron.Al94

{Ed002's Note - My notes say: Joan Jordan (CM) Sevilla are keen for the player to make a move this summer who has been watched by Arsenal, Valencia and West Ham.}

1.) 07 Jun 2019 19:51:08
Cheers ed :-)

Any truth in the links to Dani Ceballos?

1.) 30 Apr 2019 08:41:55
We definitely need a strong box to box midfielder as Noble and Snograss are to slow both would be very good squad players and very reliable when needed.

2.) 09 May 2019 19:54:42
Bang on KING68 everything I support on noble and snodgrass. COYI.

Would happily see perez and Carroll go providing we can get 1 quality st replacement. Probably too much to do for a January window if we can get rid of one then at least releases wages to strengthen in midfield.

Would love us to go get another quality striker if we are going to play 2 up top Silva should be ahead of perez in the pecking order for me he should go he's definitely got to be the first out of the door to make room for another.

John McGinn a player we were linked to under Moyes turned out pretty good and had a very good season in the championship.

Can see why Moyes wanted him if he makes the step up to the prem we could have missed a bargain.

I'd give him a chance at west ham wonder if other clubs are interested? Maybe snodgrass going in the other direction would help us. Doubt we are interested anyway.

Iron.Al94

1.) 30 May 2019 08:18:05
Snodgrass going in the other direction?

Iron so what your saying, is for a player who in my opinion gave it his all and played for the shirt last season and was pretty much a regular player and done really well, is to do a swap deal for someone that David ( i'm so great Westham are lucky to have me ) Moyes wanted and we take the risk of losing what we have in Snodgrass, sorry mate I totally disagree.

2.) 30 May 2019 14:58:42
Yes that's essentially what I'm saying but I couldn't give a sh*t about what Moyes said that shouldn't really factor in if we are interested in the player that wasnt the point I was making so forget that.

My thinking is McGinn is a lot younger and also plays in the centre which is his natural position where snodgrass has been playing due to us being short there and that there is better options out wide (younger more pacey wingers)

2 of the main reasons snodgrass has played so much for us is his work rate and delivery. McGinn is also known for his work rate that you can't fault and he also has very good delivery like snodgrass also unlike
snod he's actually a proper CM better defensively, better at holding on to the ball, dictating play and starting attacks.

I doubt he is available but if he was I'd imagine there would be a fair amount of interest given how good he was in championship and if snodgrass was to go in the other direction to sweeten the deal and put us ahead of others would I do it? Yes.

Nothing against snodgrass he has a great relationship with the fans and players there at villa he doesn't have much resale value either.

All in all this is very hypothetical stuff. We don't seem to be even looking at him.

3.) 30 May 2019 22:58:22
There is no chance in Snodgrass leaving. He appears to be one of Pellegriniโ€™s faves.

4.) 31 May 2019 03:14:27
Of course there is a chance. he's a good utility man which was very handy with all our injuries but when everyone is fit he's unlikely to start. If we do strengthen in the summer the way we would like too, that likely means less game time for him. Perhaps an offer with more regular playing time and a longer contract may be appealing or maybe he's happy playing abit less I don't know.

Forget about snodgrass though with or without him in our squad next season. John McGinn is a good player and if he can continue to impress moving into the premiership next season we might have missed an absolute bargain is what I'm saying. One to watch I think.

5.) 31 May 2019 09:22:01
Pellegrini needs to address our forward options more than anything. Carroll going, Chica too expensive, Perez not quite good enough, Arnie too petulant. Throw the dice and start again. Defensively we appear fine, Midfield we hold a plethora of talent - although weak regarding strength. The only midfield players who appear to not suffer bad injuries are Noble, Snods and Rice.

6.) 01 Jun 2019 01:12:38
Of course with the speculation around the strikers leaving we are going to have to bring new ones in.

I think wesley moares we have been linked to could be useful and available at a fair price. Looking forward to it anyway could be an interesting window with us needing a couple of strikers.

I thought the defensive side of things for large parts of the season we were leaky.

I can see Pellegrini wanting to strengthen the whole spine of the time. Especially in the centre of the park where it looks like Fernandes and obiang are going and Nobles getting on abit although he is still quality for me.

7.) 01 Jun 2019 12:20:40
I agree regarding the spine. I feel we need a quality partner with Rice and Noble.

8.) 01 Jun 2019 21:55:35
Cannot believe people rave about SNODGRASS he's average at best and this is exactly why we will never challenge FFA with these standard of players at our club fact so he should f------G work hard for what they earn. COYI.

26 May 2019 23:51:17
Unrelated to west ham but any truth in Newcastle being taken over.

Iron.Al94

{Ed002's Note - Newcastle is available for the right deal - no so much the right price.}

04 May 2019 23:40:27
Looks like the wheels have fell off for spurs since the beating we give them at their new ground what a shame. Should have had 3 reds today also, not that dier would have been a loss awful. Rice miles ahead for that England spot.

Iron.Al94

1.) 06 May 2019 00:32:08
Shame none of the others can take advantage of it and knock them out of CL.

2.) 06 May 2019 11:14:27
Don't worry lads we are back In the champions league next season where we belong ๐Ÿ˜, one day you might see your beloved side finish in the giddy heights of 6th place and play Europa league football ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚.

3.) 06 May 2019 15:01:05
what happens if you finish 4th and Arsenal win the europa?

{Ed002's Note - Nothing happens to Spurs.}

4.) 06 May 2019 15:35:14
Your trophy cabinet still looking empty so get off that high horse. Your new ground over rated next year you will loose Erickson etc and be bang average. You should have had 4 men sent off on saturday. The press with their pro spurs nonsense. And you lot think your a big club. Tell you what that Ajax are a cracking side aren't they.

5.) 06 May 2019 18:05:44
Ajax are a excellent side as they've been European champions 4 times.

6.) 07 May 2019 03:43:43
Must be tough getting your hopes up and then everything goes al Spursy :)

7.) 07 May 2019 10:32:16
At least spurs have hopes unlike West ham, the only time you will play the like of Barcelona, Ajax etc is pre season friendlys as you've never once in your entire history played European football ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚.

8.) 07 May 2019 14:22:30
Unfortunately you are wrong Raver, we qualified for Europa 3 times in the last 11 years, just haven't done much in any of those games : ( LOL
The league is determined by money at the end of the day, and WHU turnover is less than 60% of Spurs, and roughly 9th in the league. Our hopes are relative to our funds, as our yours. Spurs have arguably had their BEST season ever, and could still win NOTHING, and only scrape CL due to under performing teams around them. You have to admit that its been the least competitive top 4 for ages (bar City and Liverpool) .
Spurs need a good summer or they risk losing touch of top 4, as Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal will all strengthen. Levy won't get away with not spending again, and Poch will leave is you don't challenge for things next season.
Good luck against Ajax tomorrow, would be good to have an English team in the final for a second year in a row.

9.) 07 May 2019 15:16:44
Fully agree with you nicko, apart from city and Liverpool the rest have been bang average, if we don't invest in the summer we will lose ground on Utd, Chelsea etc as those teams will invest heavily in the summer.

10.) 07 May 2019 16:34:27
West ham won the european cup winners cup in 1965!

To say we haven't even played in european sounds like someone who has no interest in the history of the game or has just started to follow football recently!

11.) 07 May 2019 16:51:49
We have won the cup winners cup and been in the final multiple times so we have been in Europe and been successful and we won it in the 60s before it turned into a joke. so don't talk about what you don't know. Let's see your recent trophies, oh yeah you have none.

12.) 07 May 2019 16:53:24
Not to mention that world cup that all you England fans dine out on. No need to thank us.

13.) 07 May 2019 17:16:35
I just think it is sad that spurs fans feel the need to criticise and don't actually know the facts!

Funny really!

Im not saying we are a european giant as we are clearly not but to say that we have never played in europe!

14.) 07 May 2019 19:35:27
He's a troll knows fine well we've played in Europe and he's as obsessed with us as he is with spurs.

If it wasn't for poor ownership over the years West ham could have been a lot more successful and we still can be. No matter what we will support them through thick and thin.

15.) 07 May 2019 22:40:14
We also finished third and had Liverpool fans go nuts at Heysel which made us miss out. But we have played in Europe a few times and made two finals. But agree with above, other than Man City and Liverpool all the English teams are looking fairly average.

16.) 07 May 2019 23:44:09
Iron al I'm a banter boy never a troll mate, I'm one of the most gracious fans in defeat and the Eds will tell you the same,

20 Apr 2019 17:02:35
We're we just robbed by a linesman again? Looks that way, deserved the win again today not much we can do about it very frustrating for players and fans.

Iron.Al94

1.) 21 Apr 2019 09:17:07
4 fouls in the first 10 minutes in front of us lino (the grey haired one) totally ignored them Lee Pronert ignored virtually every bad tackle both ways

It's just not good enough - roll on VAR.

2.) 21 Apr 2019 15:44:23
Missed the first 10 minutes but it seemed to get Antonio riled up. Ref did let a lot go but the game had a fairly nice flow because of that although some started to go against us rather than Leicester guess that's just down to how to ref sees it. Was a tidy ball from tielemans and a good finish from Barnes to draw level.

We should have been all over Tielemans he will probably end up Leicester or possibly a bigger club. another young quality player that now looks beyond our reach.

Also reporting that we have made a 13m bid for Joan Jordan.

Hope Gomez picks us he can be our main man up top for many years he might struggle for game time at Valencia certainly less competition for that spot here.

Imagine if we do actually get all our business done early hats off to husillios and Pellegrini and Sullivan of course ;)

Formation we played the most last season according to whoscored and I'd probably agree is 4141. So Rice sitting in front of the back four with snodgrass and Noble infront of him. Maybe Pellegrini is wanting to upgrade those two men just ahead of rice one more defensively capable and one more attacking to alternate with what we have.

That would give us a very strong midfield and would explain why we have been linked with so many in the centre.

I think you could have them in the same team different types of players. Lobotka very tidy and very good at beating the press and getting the ball forward in general.

Certainly not a like for like replacement they would probably complement each other quite well.

We changed the formation a lot last season anyway. So depending on who comes in perhaps we will see a more consistent formation.

I thought Pellegrini was supposed to favour 4222 but we don't really have the players for that.

Yeah Bucky like when they signed Nordveit would have been really excited If we signed him.

They did look like a really poor side, a side just chucked together and how they defended was appalling.

Hayden could turn out to be a solid signing though works hard gets stuck in. Just hard to say if his form was down to playing in an organised Rafa team that may have suited him more than how Pellegrini will play. Also the chance that in areas where he may be lacking technically compared to someone like Gomes could be improved upon playing the way Pellegrini wants to, who knows?

I don't think Hayden should be getting stick though he's rated up north and the reason for selling is that he wants to be down here for family.

I trust Pellegrini in making decisions on players but i'm not filled with confidence on how we have operated in the past with negotiations.

As for this claude maurice maybe eds can clarify if we are actually interested and how concrete it is?

I certainly like the thought of us spending decent money on young talent.

I'm unsure I don't think we are actually looking at him. If you compare stats on say a website like whoscored I would say Maripan looks a lot better.

I'm impatient to see who we actually have some concrete interest in that is also a likely signing.

We were looking at a young promising polish keeper according the various sources. Now today with no warning we sign Roberto a 33yr old Spanish keeper on a free.

I was thinking of the current striker situation and then I remembered how promising Xande Silva was before his injury, pacey and skillfull very composed infront of goal according to reports.

I feel if given a chance someone like fornals could pick out his runs all day long. Much like the season before last when Fornals had bakambu playing up top he registered something like 12 assists that season.

Maybe the answer to our striking problem is right under our nose it's an exciting prospect hopefully we see it tested in preseason.

Completely different style of play between these too. Hayden is a grafter that likes to tackle. Gomes good in the transitions.

I think they both had strong second halfs to the season. I do wonder how well Hayden would do in our side maybe he looked better in a well organised benetiz side or perhaps his game would improve further under Pellegrini.

Just got to trust Manuel's judgement.
