Seeing reports Arnie won't be starting due to transfer "speculation"

Listen, I love the guy, absolutely adore him, but you're 29 years old. Either come out and say look boys, we've had a good run and I love the club, but I need to move in the interest of my wife and 2 daughters and earn the money in China (if we were all offered double our current salary, we'd all move, its the way the works works)

Or come out and squash the bull that your browser keeps spouting and commit to the club.

This. "oh I think it's best I don't be named in the squad because of speculation" is shocking. We all know players have the power these days. Address the rumours Arnie and give us an answer. Either way, if you do it the correct way, and you want to move to China to earn the money for your family, I'd like to think the majorly of legit West Ham fans would thank you for your service and the memories and wish you all the best in the future.

Please just go about it the right way.

1.) 12 Jan 2019 03:51:39
I think you have your answer. He wants out if he is suggesting he don't be named because of speculation, otherwise the speculation would mean nothing to him. Not that bothered if he goes if we get the right price.

2.) 12 Jan 2019 09:08:23
The ONLY occasions when he should not be available for the match day squad are injury, or if you are not selected.

Anything else should be breach of contract.

Naive, I know, but that’s how it should be.

3.) 12 Jan 2019 11:34:00
Just seen he’s playing.

4.) 12 Jan 2019 11:35:16
Well he has been named.

5.) 12 Jan 2019 12:02:55
I hope he scores a few and settles down, or scores a hatful and inflates his price if he really wants out.

6.) 13 Jan 2019 08:27:05
Bit of a waste of space wasn't he? Played like a star player on FM who wants a new contract.

7.) 13 Jan 2019 19:55:08
ARNIE performance yesterday spoke volumes of the man behind the mask he's a self centred player we really don't need at our football club and grateful I am of his performances this season it's him who should be grate ful as the club who was willing to take a chance on him when others wouldn't have done and rescuing from a relegation (happened) threatened club and turning him into a C/ F of a high standard and we should be doing EXACTLY WHAT WE ARE TOLD TO DO SO BY NOT HIM BUT HIS BROTHER yeah righty oh my old China it doesn't work like that I'd let him rot in the stiffs but then we are doing ourselves out of a lot of money and we cannot afford such luxurys so just get the deal done as quick as possible and move on . COYI.

10 Jan 2019 19:15:36
The rumour that Pep wants Rice worries me more than the Arnie rumours.

1.) 11 Jan 2019 10:14:12
I called this a while ago! . If Pep comes in i don´t see how Rice could turn it down! . let's be honest he´s going to win pretty much f all with us and a good chance of winning everything with Man City plus he´d be on a min 100k pw straight off the bat! . and for the club a 50-60m bid i think they would accept that!

2.) 11 Jan 2019 10:31:53
Can only hope he decides to stay a year or 2 more with us to increase his experience before he heads off.

3.) 12 Jan 2019 03:54:23
I recall suggesting previously that he wouldn't stay his whole career and some disagreed with my comment. No players for life anymore and even less likely if your not a Champions League team. Glad I grew up in the era of Trevor Brooking and Billy Bonds, my son supports West Ham but his favourite player is Lionel Messi. Don't think he would ever get a West Ham players number on his back sadly.

4.) 12 Jan 2019 09:11:29
MP should tell him now that he is captain next year.

5.) 13 Jan 2019 20:02:42
A move to city isn't the right move for RICE yet but in two years it probably is I remember a young SCOT PARKER who I knew quite well through his father mickey moving to CHELSEA and not getting a game now I know he only moved to triple his earnings and money was the only reason he moved so if I was west ham I'd say gives us your all for 2-3 years and we will broker a big move for you well something along those lines and help you basically you scratch our backs and vice versa. COYI.

05 Jan 2019 10:35:20
Speaking to someone who knows Shelvey's dad - he's saying it's practically a done deal? Any news on this mike?

1.) 05 Jan 2019 11:34:08
It does seem this swap deal rumour involving Carroll is getting stronger.

2.) 05 Jan 2019 12:01:53
IT would be a FANTASTIC deal for WH, WHOEVER would sanction this deal at. NEWCASTLE. Should be taken straight to a Mental House Institution, The only way this could happen is a DELAYED payment for Shelvey until the summer, THEN it’s possible but a straight swap without money would belike WH winning the lottery. IRONMIKE.

3.) 05 Jan 2019 12:10:23
I think that would be a great deal
I like shelvey he could turn out to be our next noble.

4.) 11 Jan 2019 22:01:45
I really can't jump on the SHELVEY bandwagon I've seen him loads of times and he's hardly a game changer if we are going to IMPROVE we have to aim higher than SHELVEY as I think we should and could aim a little higher than him also his liking for a card worries me I'd steer clear even if I'm desperate to get rid of Billy the fish. COYI.

31 Jul 2018 18:57:02
Not sure if anyone else agrees, but the more I watch Snodgrass, the more I'm starting to really like him. nice little assist just now for Martinez.

I honestly think he'll be a very good squad player this season, i'd definitely look to keep hold of him!

1.) 31 Jul 2018 19:35:25
It seems as if MP might agree with you, TK.

2.) 31 Jul 2018 20:52:57
Too slow so can't get past anybody.

3.) 31 Jul 2018 22:24:28
I agree, but he isn't the only player who lacks the pace to take players on, Noble can't either. The key point is whether they can adapt to Pellegrini's one touch football, because if they need too much time on the ball and if their movement off the ball is poor they are going to be a liability. time will tell. There are a few positions, no doubt Pellegrini would like to improve but the finances restict him. I think there will be a few coming and going before the window closes. Hopefully we will see a quality midfielder or two come in and a striker.

4.) 31 Jul 2018 23:02:40
Spot on HAMMERSFAN regarding both devoud of any pace and if you play in midfield you can't be pedestrian. COYI.

5.) 01 Aug 2018 00:20:48
Of course a midfielder can be slow - Pirlo rated as one of the greatest ever and he was very slow! Great player though.
Noble plays fantastic passes as does Snodgrass- Pelle knows his stuff, trust him.

6.) 01 Aug 2018 12:11:11
Pirlo was a free role and a one off noble is great now i know that glen.

7.) 01 Aug 2018 12:11:38
Pirlo wasnt asked to track back.

11 Jul 2018 13:48:35
Welcome Andriy ⚒ - Balbuena next to come!

Hopefully this time next week we will be welcoming Anderson!

I honestly think, if we hold onto Obiang, him and Wilshere will be strong in the centre of the park, and with the new attaching and defensive acquisitions (and goalkeeper) and with effectively a new signing in January (Lanzini) this could be an extremely promising campaign!

1.) 11 Jul 2018 14:16:32
Mike and Ed’s. I’ve seen reports that .................

{Ed002's Note - You are on the wrong page - this is the West Ham page and it is nothing to do with WHU.}

Is there any truth in the reasoning behind Arnie wanting to move to China is due to him being in huge amounts of debt due to poor investments by him and his brother on his behalf?

If so, I personally don't hate Arnie, he didn't pull out of the squad, it was Pelle's decision to drop him because of what's happening. He was also stated as training hard and remaining professional.

I honestly think he's obviously not the smartest bloke, and his brother has basically misguided him and managed him poorly with bad intentions. I think, as he's under contract with us, West Ham should offer him counselling and support to get himself out of this debt. Show some humanity gents, he's a human being at the end of the day.

Carroll on the other hand, he's a donkey, get him out!

1.) 20 Jan 2019 20:00:18
If he has genuine psychological issues I would object to him getting counselling but financial issues on the money he is on. Please!
He only has himself to blame. He was great the second half of last season but it seems if he is not the top man at the club he throws his toys out the pram like a petulant child.

19 Jan 2019 17:14:32
Probably doesn't need to be said, but I'll say it anyway. Carroll is absolutely garbage.

1.) 19 Jan 2019 22:10:47
Trouble is the team don’t play the way a striker like Carroll operates. Long ball or crosses is what he needs and we have moved on with short passes and movement. But worse he can’t even hold the ball up very well.

02 Jan 2019 18:52:21
Carroll starting up front with Arnie. lord knows how this will turn out.

1.) 02 Jan 2019 19:18:54
- or how long Carroll will last 😳.

2.) 02 Jan 2019 19:32:42
Strange one this. IRONMIKE.

3.) 02 Jan 2019 20:58:30
dont worry he's gone off with an injury haha.

4.) 02 Jan 2019 21:26:48
What brilliant super subs by Pelle - Antonio can’t be controlled and Noble with a lovely ball in for Markos first goal. Very good management from the boss.

Hopefully we can get the 3rd and win.

5.) 02 Jan 2019 21:41:40
Agree great subs except Perez, he is a waste of a shirt in my opinion he is sorty to say it, CRAP.
Real shame we didn’t finish them off but good come back all the same but other results went for us so 3 points would have been ideal

6.) 02 Jan 2019 22:28:00
Perez means we are playing with 10 men a lot. Just doesn’t have the passion, confidence or work rate it appears.

7.) 02 Jan 2019 22:28:26
For me I think that’s the end of Carol and Perez
neither bring anything to the team, ship both
out if we can and get a decent striker.

31 Oct 2018 22:08:56
My observations for the night

-Antonio isn't a footballer, his control, awareness and brain are absolutely shocking. Would be lucky to find a championship team who'd want him
-Grady Diangana was my absolute stand out man of the match, I thought he beat his man, had an end product and caused them problems. He also tracked back and dig deep.
-Chicharito can go to any other club who's willing to pay his 140k a week for doing absolute nothing.
-Pérez looked like he wanted in when he came on, so I can't knock him. The same as Snoddy, he was whipping balls in and running his socks off.
-It's now absolutely clear to everyone on the planet that Masuaku can not defend. Ogbonna as well, he seems to have gone backwards within the last 18 months. He shouldn't be anywhere near the 1st team squad.
- Adrian displayed today on the 3rd goal why Fabianski is arguably our best signing this season. 4 yards out and he's not coming to claim it? Absolute diabolical.
-Rice continued to show why he's probably our best player after Arnie at the moment

Drastic changes needed for Saturday - 3 points is an absolute must.

1.) 31 Oct 2018 23:20:36
Hiya TKHAMMER I've said this for the past 6 months when he first came I thought great athlete and bigger club than forest we could turn him into a footballer which for a while we did but he's gone mate and must be outed he reminds me of ROUTLEDGE very pacey and no end product he's feet don't interact with his brain when fit SILVA the young Portuguese lad must take his place OGBONNA knows he ain't going to get in the first eleven so is just picking up his wages and basically on holiday mode I'm a massive fan of CHIQUARITO well I was his professionalism is nothing sort of laughable I've never seen a forward flagged offside and he must be taken off the wage bill it's an extremely difficult situation when your a club that doesn't win nothing and squad players who can't get in the starting eleven and ain't picking up medals and trophy's they lack professionalism and think to hell with this I'll just pick up my money and go along for the ride it's happening far too much at West ham but what do you do and we then regarding a CERTAIN ENGLAND INTERNATIONAL we hum and ar over paying him a realistic wage for what undoubtedly he's worth yes I'm talking about a players who's progress since being taken off at half time against Liverpool is remarkable IMO and I for one and I'll hold my hands up said he wasn't a midfielder was totally wrong and he's done that through hard graft and a few of our players need to have a hard look at themselves because it's not right and I'm sorry but if MP cannot see MASUAKU ain't a L/ B then he shouldn't be a manager I actually feel a bit sorry for MASUAKU as he clearly ain't comfortable and I know you shouldn't undermine the manager but someone tell him it ain't his position surely MP has done his homework it ain't good and by a long way. COYI.

2.) 01 Nov 2018 07:18:43
Well said on Rice Worya, contract needs sorting NOW.
ANTONIO creates a lot of chances, but it's all pointless if he can't do anything with them, zero composure. I agree with getting SILVA or HOLLAND in for him, but I'd give PEREZ a go there first. Move Antonio on in jan for any offer we can get.
Worryingly though, he was better than ANDERSON. At least he had an impact and caused problems. Anderson's corners were terrible, and he kept coming short to take free kicks on the half way line when he was playing in the 10 role. He has SO much talent but atm his head is all over the place. Decisions are wrong, positioning is wrong, he just looks like he hasn't settled. We have to give him more time, but in the short term Pelle may need to drop him.
Masuaku poor again for the 2nd, shift him on and maybe get Monreal from Arsenal?
Adrian should have come for the third, but Og could have done better also.
Should Antonio have had a pen at the end?
Once again better than spurs, but they come out winners. Difference was quality in final third. There top quality squad has it, ours (Antonio and Anderson) did not!

3.) 01 Nov 2018 23:25:36
Encouraging that Holland and Silva were arguably ahead of diangana in the current set up. He has really taken his chance well and looks like he's enjoying himself! Antonio had a great chance to put him through but poor touch.

Need Rice to sign asap. Hopefully a few others will break through this season think they are inspired by how well rice is doing and now diangana playing with such confidence.

Few players that have got to be looking at an exit in Jan get them off the wage bill. Ogbonna scared to make a tackle doesn't look bothered looking foward to Pellegrini trimming the squad of the dead wood and bringing in the players we need next window.

4.) 02 Nov 2018 12:11:27
Hi nlckinho imo RICE is a future ENGLAND captain and a definite ENGLAND player for many years on ANDERSON I think he thought it would be easy and he'd stroll through games and his undoubted talent would shine through but it ain't ITALY we are playing in the pace is so much more frantic and pressing and he ain't grasped it yet BALBUENA played in a slow tempo league in BRAZIL and he looked dodgy at first but he's adapted and so should ANDERSON it might take a season like HENRY who reminds me they way ANDERSON is playing because HENRY was the same like a rabbit caught in headlights but he's very talented that's not in question but you can't keep playing him on this form he needs to be taken out for a few games and show he ain't untouchable. COYI.

31 Oct 2018 16:11:36
I'm seeing Chelsea maybe in for Rice. This would be an absolute calamity if it happened. He was at their academy for 7 years.

DGS need to offer him 35-40k and get this boy signed up, at least then if Chelsea do come knocking we can slap a £50+ million price tag on him.

1.) 31 Oct 2018 23:24:56
If we don't tie RICE down to a very large contract and he moves there will be utter carnage and I wouldn't be going to any more games one for my safety and my morals because he's our best player with ARNIE, BALBUENA, DIOP, FABIANSKI.

I agree with Warrington - i'd like to avoid getting into Europe this season, if you don't have the squad for it, it really can break a team. Look what happened to Burnley.

Get as many deals in place for the summer for the players that Pelle wants, and ship out the people he doesn't. I really think Arnie will stay, i believe his brother is fabricating these stories to get Arnie a new contract in the summer and to be our highest earner. Imagine being Arnie, single handedly winning certain games for us, and having to sit in a changing room with clowns like Carroll (and Chicharito to a certain extent) who do the absolute minimum and earn the same money.

The defence definitely needs suring up - that is the absolute priority in Summer, LB and RB. We are scoring goals, so the boys up front are playing their part. Some legs in midfield wouldn't go a miss either!

If he leaves in the summer fair play to him - but he needs to see the season out.

Absolutely love the bloke though, so will be gutted!

Do we honestly need him. no. Do we want him at our club? . no.

I really hope not - why would we want a washed up 31 year old who’s well past his best, and has just come back from an 18 month drug ban.

We get enough bad press at it is. this would be so toxic to the dressing room and club as a whole, sending out the wrong message.

We were creating chances with a lot of possession around the area but having Carroll in the side is counter productive. He literally doesn’t move, so no matter how much build up play you do. you won’t achieve anything with him. I’d rather have seen silva start up front, lots of pace and will run his socks off and fit into our style of play!

That chance Carroll missed was an absolute howler. Shocking performance from him. Get him out.

I really felt Pérez has a shocking game today. Nothing he did went right. no control, no first touch, I don’t think he found one team mate with any of his passes. he just seemed to get in Arnie’s way.

We need Balbuena back to get that solidarity at the back again. Diop doesn’t look the same player next to Ogbonna.

I'd say he's actually spent closer to 75% on the treatment table. I don't think Masuaku should be sold, I just think he should be deployed as an out an out winger. Cover for snoddy and diangana.

Masuaku looked horrendous coming on after a very good performance from Cresswell. I think he needs to start from now on.

Good performance from everyone else and a solid 3 points.
