I can think of a few worse candidates for the job, dyche and cooper being 2, but surely a club of West Ham's stature could attract a better manager than Parker. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong and he gets us motoring. We can only hope ⚒️.

Parker gets clubs promoted. Whether he can keep us there is another matter!

Agreed Tin Legs. he will get us promoted, but he won't keep us there

Is this a temporary appointment?

Parker would not have been my first choice, but let's get behind him and give him a chance. What I can't understand is all this support for Bellamy. He's never managed a club before. He's only been Wales manager and let's face it, under him they haven't been that great.

Have to agree with most of these comments. I think Bellamy was popular because of the good things he said about the fan base and he definitely has fire in his belly.
I have to agree with Robbo it's another brand of boring football to be served up but am prepared to get behind him with the absolute hope that leopard's do change their spots.

We all have opinions of course as fans whether Managers or Players, but I think some should hire themselves out to any clubs looking for a Manager as some think they know who will fail or succeed no matter what happens, perhaps they can predict a lot of other things as well!
What a talent to have,I would be really worried if I owned a Betting Shop?⚒⚒⚒.

As you say Chelmsford it is an opinions site and some of us are opinionated. But my opinions have often been wrong, and I'm not frightened to admit that. When a new man is brought in we have to hope for the best and get behind him but the common denominator is this board are the ones hiring the appointments. Scott Parker is the 4th or 5th appointment of a manager with a dour style and the previous 3 have all failed dismally. And a large proportion of the fanbase are crying out for some entertaining football.

So I would argue many of us armchair critics whilst not experts know more than our main shareholder who never goes to the games. Scott Parker was a brilliant player for us and the clubs he has managed haven't had big budgets so maybe he can be different to his past performances, although sadly I doubt he will be.
I'm not going to come on here and say I think this is a great choice if I don't actually think it is. At least he can't do any worse than what we have seen so far this season.

? What would be the point of discussion forums like this if people weren't free to express their opinions? We don't always agree, but the exchange of diverse views is what makes this platform enjoyable, surely?

Parker is the pragmatic choice, he has gotten smaller clubs promoted more than once. He has Premier League experience, knows the club and critically is more tactically astute than anyone since Moyes. If Koppen finds him the right CF and CB he needs and continues to evolve the options available.

He may succeed in the PL with the greater resources that will be available to him. If not the suggested contract shows that Kretinsky and Virani know a little more about running a club than the previous Muppets.

Parker was the obvious and sensible choice. A good appointment. ?.
