Norwegian hammer Hi, what do you know about Daniel Job, supposed to be rapid, raw and natural goalscorer. Just learnt that WH bid was actually 3.75 m and an Italian side. Lecce may have matched it?

Fancy WH may have a go for Edwin next week, depending on movements elsewhere, WH will need to bid up a bit, time is not on WH side.

Really good season in Norwegian First Division. Ready for Championship football? Maybe.

Austbo is the more expensive option, but I have no doubt that he would do amazing for us. He is ready.

Bit confused why Daniel Job is being mentioned. I thought we were bidding for Austbo. How would you compare these two Norwegians? Austbo looks more ready to me.

WH should shelve ideas for Nelson. Nelson's injury record makes Cornet look good, and Vardy.

Ask yourself this question.

He played in Italy last year. If he was any good, don't you think another of the 40 Italian sides would have taken him this season? Tells you all you need to know.

Think outside of the box and get these younger players in with pace & technique (ie the Norwegian-based players discussed). They'll do well in the Championship & could step up further ahead in the PL.

Daniel Job is Nigerian. He came to Norway two years ago from Future Pro Academy. He dropped down a division this year. He played 15-20 games in a division that is miles from Championship quality.

Austbo has been on the scene since he scored against Sligo when he was 17 in the Conference League play-offs. He gets supporters out of their seats.

Younger players only must be the way forward for WH.

Older or old players, like Vardy, if WH think they could be useful, no contracts, pay and play only. Vardy wants 40 k a week. WH can do better with that money.

We have Fulkrug at 33, no one wants him except on a free. In two weeks' time, WH will have to make a decision: let him go on a free, rip up his contract, or carry on paying 55 k a week for less than nothing for another season.

Cornet, injury prone in his final season, is still getting 31.5 k a week. Absolutely no interest. WH tried to get him back to Genoa again, offering to split his wages; the Genovese paid more than that the last two seasons. Definite no thanks.

Todibo, the disappearing Frenchman. If he doesn’t leave the club, WH must look into stopping his wages and holding his registration; without that, he can’t play anywhere.

Reiss Nelson has spent more time out of the game than in it by far. Brentford might have kept him if he could play, but he couldn’t play regularly. What’s the point?


My question to all WH fans, how many more of these characters do they need?

Answer is: sign both, one ready to go, the other has the makings for a gradual entrance.

WH are getting themselves into a position to do so. Striker Cb Lb needed after 3 likely exits.

Koppen needs to sign these people up, forget about the hasbeens.

You are spot on, Joyful, regarding buying old players or players with dodgy injury records. I think the odd older player with special, tailor-made contacts isn't too bad an idea.
One thing I'm struggling to understand is who even put Nelson in the mix as a potential buy. I have to be honest, I didn't know his injury record was so bad, but I don't scrutinize this, so why should I. But the fact he is loaned out year in, year out, is a bad sign.

But players like Nelson shouldn't need a DOF to identify them. The Norwegian player seems far more apt. It's been a mixed window, and the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so time will tell if the new players brought in will be a success or not. Overall, I think it has been slow, but seems to be more targeted, and the selling aspect has been very well done. That's my take on it, for what it's worth.

Kretinsky has a grip, and it's showing. Awb is on to leave next week. Diouf and Sunderland are pushing this Isidor player exchange, plus cash. Thing is, whilst on paper it sounds ok! I'm not sure Nuno sees Isidor as main striker.

Nuno is happy for Magassa to leave, but no bids of any kind.

Players with bad injury records should be a no-no. Main striker will depend on what happens with Taty in the last few weeks of the window, I'd think. The Sunderland striker seems ideal, though, plenty of pace and knows the division.

When spending the amounts, young players that have not played abroad are always going to be a massive gamble.

I'm all for youngsters, but the 1st team needs sorting first.

As Hammer D says, a couple of older players is fine. We have that now with Soucek and Veltman, we don't need any more. Should be looking at players below 30 years old now.

If Sunderland offer £30m plus Isidor for Diouf, take it. Use the £20 to get Edvin Ausbo and Harrison Burrows, thats 3 players for one.

Forget Vardy and Nelson. Get Parrott and Job, then watch what happens with AWB, Alvarez, Tobido, Moussaga, Cornet, Fulkrug, Pablo, and regrettably Taty, who I think someone will come for by the end of the window.
