A few of you were laughing at my statement yesterday when I said there’s no one better out there at the moment than Nuno, so can you tell who is then with no compensation to pay? Please don’t say Parker. Like I said, Nuno knows the players that are coming through, unlike a new manager who would probably want to have a look at them play for the youth first before picking them for the first team, therefore wasting games and wasting time.

As I've posted, I wasn't laughing. It was virtually obvious from the start. West Ham were not besieged by superstar managers knocking the door down. Bilic, we have been there.
Parker, he has up but down record. Are West Ham going to take a gamble on a long shot? No, definitely not. So that's why Nuno stays. That's it. We will wait to find out. Good move or bad?

I get the feeling it could end up the same as Potter last season. I do hope he has some integrity and truthfully wants to get us promoted again. Obviously, he would have taken a 50% pay-cut, and rightly so, but there is that nagging doubt in my mind that he may just be going into his second season, as he knows that he will be compensated fully for the remainder of his 3 year deal if sacked.

Wouldn't waste the energy, Stevie66. I posted earlier. I am, so far, the only one to offer a name attached to a transfer: Hackney and Cooper. I also said I wouldn't have been disappointed with Parker, purely based on the fact he is Championship proven.
What you get on here is moaning without solutions, from some (not all) posters.

Seems like some people are happy with boring, ineffective football. Nuno has done a terrible job so far. We've binned 21 points from winning positions, mainly because of terrible substitutions and tactics. He didn't deserve to keep his job. He is completely inept, and has shown it over 32 games. He hasn't been kept because he is good, but because it would cost the board a few million to get rid. This is exactly the same situation as last year with Potter, giving him a window for no reason at all.
I'd rather have promoted Paco (who is apparently off now), approached Bellamy, even spoken to Big Ange, or gone for a Spanish or German manager from their leagues. I'm not fussed about promotion straight away, slow build and reshape the team. But when so many supporters are submissive, reasoning aww, there's no one better than a failure, the board has won again. I'm afraid, personally I wouldn't give them a penny, as it's the only thing that bothers them: cash.

Hackney, I very much doubt he
would transfer to another Championship side; he's wanted in a division higher than WH. Had the opportunity to buy him before last season, that was passed over.
Cooper, the man's not on any WH lists, and to my knowledge has never been discussed by the board.
If Nuno fails, then anything could happen.
There's no moans from me, only practicalities and honesty.
Wolves are well equipped and ready for the Championship, so will be Burnley and Boro. WH will have huge competition. How's that for honesty and no moans. Regards, Joyfull

By Cooper I mean Michael Cooper - Sheffield United goalkeeper. I have doubts about Hermansen.
Hackney I admit is a stretch, but I think that would be a marquee signing that signals clear intent.
RedRobbo - wrong, as usual. Both had a break clause where there would be no compensation paid.
Why people can't get behind the team is beyond me. Actually to be fair those in the stadium do, certainly have done since Christmas. Those armchairs on the other hand - love a moan.

Paco would have been a good call as would Bellamy. And I didn't know Paco is leaving? That isn't good. As I said earlier, I can see the same thing happening as last season with Potter. If we don't start well, the fans will turn very quickly.

Stevie, I put 6 reasons on here as to why I thought Nuno staying wasn't a bad thing, but actually missed the most important one... with Nuno you know that JWP will not feature! That's got to be the most positive reason of the lot. Giving Jemez the job was the only alternative suggestion anyone has said to me might be a better alternative. Robbo, sorry mate, but I just don't buy this 'better to stay in the Championship for a few seasons, play nice football and reset' argument.
That's how teams can find themselves frozen out permanently, particularly with owners such as ours. As I've said before, promotion is paramount to getting rid of Sullivan. Surely that has to be of the most interest to us supporters?

Dabber, there is no reason why we can't play good football and still be promoted. I was simply stating a personal preference if it were a toss up between the two. Also, there is no guarantee that we will go straight up playing boring football. It wasn't very successful last season.
Also, Iron Geez, I heard that the break agreement was a gentleman's agreement only and not in a contract; hence the reason he is staying and not going.
We are simply repeating the same mistakes we made last season with Potter. When you say I'm wrong, as usual, I wasn't wrong about Potter and Nuno, was I?

I have to be honest, I don't know much about Championship football, but I will soon find out. But I heard somebody talking on 5 Live a month back and the presenter said to the guest, "So why wasn't Carrick a success at Middlesbrough, but has been an overnight hit at Man U, which is a much tougher gig?" The guest said Carrick was trying to play a progressive style of play that the players available to him were unable to do, hence it was a failure.
And that is a sad reality of what faces us now. I'm not advocating boring football, but we might not have the personnel capable of much else.

IronGeez as I understand there is no break clause it was just an agreement but nothing in his contract, which is why sullivan backed down after sounding out various other managers
If you want to support and be entertained by mediocre ineffective football that's up to you personally I don't want to give this board anymore of my hard earned cash so trying to make out you are superior because some other people in the stadium got behind the team is laughable to be honest, even more laughable as you've literally just said you saw supporters having a go at the players during their lap of honour
Basically you try and call people out by childish name calling without making any valid points yourself

Odd response - if you want to play schoolboys on the internet, RedRobbo, fine. If you can highlight where I have called anyone names, like we are Y8 students, please alert me. I won't be drawn into that nonsense.
Yes, a minority of supporters in a crowd of 60,000 is statistically likely.
It's not a case of whether I want to be entertained or not.
I would go to West Ham in League 2. I follow the club around the country, almost every week. I take my kids, just as my dad did with me 25 years ago. Again, what are you going to do? Cry on the internet all year? I go, support my club, follow the ritual, every week. Does that make me superior? Odd comment - but no. Stick to the armchair.

Stevie 66, the reason people laughed is because we only started winning when Paco joined the coaching staff. Also, if you take Nuno's 33 games compared to the rest of the league, we finished 6th bottom.
Hardly deserves another chance. Bournemouth, Brighton, Oakace and Brentford all employed an unknown manager, and look where it has got them. We always go for the free option, and here we go again.
