Just seen Mike dean has been demoted to the championship

Pauliron

Hi Paul

Its about time, his arrogance is unbelievable, IMO his judgement is woeful, he doesn't seem to have the ability to understand the game.

God knows how many cards he will produce in the Championship, it's a lot more physical there.

Apparently payet got a £1million loyalty bonus in September

Pauliron

1.) 13 Jan 2017 11:03:53
Chelsea website says Conte ready to Bid £40m for Payet out of the £60m he got for Oscar!

2.) 13 Jan 2017 11:16:44
Personally I'd rather he went back to France wouldn't want to hear his name every week plus didn't he say he's homesick so going to another prem team would be a extra kick in the b@££@x

3.) 13 Jan 2017 11:21:00
Hi Phil

As I stated before not keen on him staying in England makes a mockery of him wanting to leave to go back to France, and although I suspect its just paper talk if true get rid and take the £30m profit.

Saying that the DGS will probably say £45m, and the saga will hang out until the last day of the window for the sale to go through. :)

Anyway I think Payet has had enough air time and i'm bored with this already, back to our targets, is Hogan coming or not, and what's happening Snograss etc, any news anyone?

I see Palace are going in for Evra, never thought he would go to WH and play 2nd fiddle to Cresswell so no surprise there.

With all this Payet nonsense at least for the time being any of our transfer targets are not so public so I hope they just get on with things do what they think is right and let's all move on.

Palace tomorrow, looking forward to game, looks like going to be dry and may get a bit of sun, but going to be bitter so get your thermals ready

4.) 13 Jan 2017 11:38:57
Hi Warrington

You know our board far too well and we'll hang on until the last day of the window as always and has been seen previously as a tactic that don't work. Its being reported now that we have done a complete U-Turn and will let him leave for the right price! Chelsea are ready with £40m so can Marseille get anywhere near that? I doubt it!

My real concerns are that we have taken our eyes of importance of the upcoming games against Palace and Boro. I Was hoping we might have pulled out all the stops to get one or two new faces in by now, but no! As always we mess about offering laughable bids. This is the way our board like to save money with every player and the laughable way they do business!

Something with Payet must have been going on for a while so let him go and move on. I got me long johns ready for tomorrow and hope we can turn Palace over. Fate however may have a hand to play tomorrow with Allardyce returning!

5.) 13 Jan 2017 11:58:07
West Ham target Robert Snodgrass is the latest player to be linked with a move to the Chinese Super League.

The Scotland international has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham this month but Slaven Bilic’s efforts to bring the winger to the London Stadium have been rebuffed so far by Hull City (because west ham made laughable bids), who are looking to hang on to their prized asset.

The 29-year-old has been superb for The Tigers this season, proving to be one of very few shining lights in what has been a dismal season for Marco Silva’s men so far.

Apparently we are very close to signing hogan

Pauliron

1.) 06 Jan 2017 21:03:42
Lets hope he ain't watching this

2.) 06 Jan 2017 21:07:07
We need hulk hogan,
We are embarrassing to watch at the moment

There queuing up to shoot!

3.) 06 Jan 2017 21:36:17
So our 20 goal a season striker is now a championship player who spent half last season injured lol, doesno matter who would've played up front tonight we created nothing really plus we nend to sort the defence out first that was way to easy for city

4.) 06 Jan 2017 21:53:43
Agreed red

5.) 06 Jan 2017 22:09:17
How the hell is buying hogan going to make
any difference to that pile of crap,
We need a frigging RB, centre half, play the
strikers that we have Fletcher and Martinez
give them a go, hogan will only be a sub behind
carol anyway!
What is going on with this club!

6.) 06 Jan 2017 22:59:25
I don't think playing 4 3 3 does us any favours

{Ed025's Note - it was 1-0-0 the way i seen it mate..

7.) 06 Jan 2017 23:04:09
whilst I agree Hogan is a reasonably good player, and his experience of English football will help him to settle in the league quickly. the guy has only ever played in lower leagues (only the last 2 seasons in the championship, the rest in league one) . He has also only managed 33 league appearances since the start of the 2014/ 15 season for Brentford. He is another injury prone striker, have we not learnt our lessons with Carroll and Sakho?

I get the fact the club is wanting to sign players with English league experience, we've been bitten in the last transfer window by foreign players. So we need players that can come in with English league experience, know the demands with the English game and so on.

If the club is willing to spend £20 million on Dembele from Celtic, there are a host of talented, British players that could be bought who aren't as injury prone. Jordan Rhodes isn't getting a sniff at Middlesbrough, scored bundles in the lower divisions and is available for £10 million. Shane Long, has been playing premier league football for a number of years now, has bags of pace, a decent work ethic and is available for £12 million. Another couple of players we could consider (not necessarily available) with English league experience and an eye for goal. Dwight Gayle, Alvaro Negredo, Edin Dzeko (Roma are interested in Feghouli, possible exchange), Fernando Lorente (has scored a few for a struggling Swansea side)

We also need to sign a right back and a centre back to add to the squad

8.) 07 Jan 2017 08:36:06
Shane long great shout

9.) 07 Jan 2017 09:16:22
What a great article by DIE_4_WHUFC. We are a shambles and watching it week in week out is upsetting to see what has happened to our great club. No bite, intensity, challenges, and desire. Shocking performance by any standards. More is going on with this team of players than meets the eye. We have half decent players but they are not performing. The defence is all over. Reid is being pulled out wide right all the time helping Nordvedt who is simply not good enough. SB continues to play NORDVEDT at RB and he is useless. Feghouli in front or Antonio does not work. Sell Feghouli, N0rdvedt and Zaza. Get Trippier, Snodgrass and that will strengthen the right hand side. If SB can;t sort this which at the moment he can't then get someone who can cause this cannot continue. OUR HEAVIEST EVER HOME DEFEAT in the FA Cup in HISTORY. All is not good behind the scenes.

Finally, can we please stop messing about placing pathetic bids for players. If we want a player then pay the money and go get him.

If I could, Gold, Sullivan and Bilic would all be gone and replaced by proper investors and a manager who has agreat tactical brain and who won;t accept performances like that debacle last night. We were pathetic but as long as we keep filling the stadium and sullivans pockets they won't care. Enough is enough and don;t tell me we beat swansea 4-1 so can't be all bad! Swansea, Hull and Palace are the only teams we can look to so that we survive this season.

10.) 07 Jan 2017 10:37:47
I'm sorry but am I the only one who thinks we need to address the defence.?
it was horrific at times apart from Reid who had some good moments but even he has a tendency to rush out and leave space in behind! . Whether or not its down to Adrain not commanding his defence I don't know. but it was a shambles!
just not good enough. and where is this Hogan going to play on the wing.? . they're not going to drop Carroll are they?

11.) 07 Jan 2017 10:57:37
Just posted the same thing on banter page Costa I'd forget about strikers and get a RB and CB first of all but hey ho dgs know best

12.) 07 Jan 2017 14:13:23
Any word on hogan? He was 50/ 50 for Brentford today according to Brentford manager, anyone know if in squad today? If not then looks like the move is on .

13.) 07 Jan 2017 15:20:50
A good CDM would give both defence and attack confidence. Nordvet is not good enough and we can see how crucial the role is, look at Leicester without Kante.
Enoh from Standard Liege is a good shout, he is all about defence and he manages to keep Song out of the Cameroon National team. He also had some Premiership time at Fulham.

03 Jan 2017 19:39:03
Don't know if Ed can heip but I've just heard hogan deal is done around 13 mill with add ons, not sure if for now or summer but apparently he met Slav and Sullivan before Christmas and all Personal terms agreed all that's left is the medical? Ed do you know anything.

Pauliron

{Ed002's Note - There is interest as we have explained but there is no agreement and there is interest from elsewhere.}

1.) 04 Jan 2017 08:04:08
I hear We have not yet made an approach for HOGAN but Watford have £8m lodged so we can forget him. Also, I'm sure that we had approached Sunderland for Defoe at £6m! Now today we've lodged £5m?

2.) 04 Jan 2017 08:17:54
Hi Paul

As previously mentioned why on earth would we spend £13m on a championship goal scorer when we have Fletcher and Martinez who in my view are on the same level as Hogan and given the chance could prove better, i'm not dismissing him but £13m seems an awful lot of money to waste when we have similar talent on the bench, stick Martinez and Fletcher in the championship and they would bang in the goals, I may be wrong but I can't see us shelling out so much for this particular player, and if we do my view is it crazy money to spend,

On a separate note I was gutted to see Big Sam only get 1 point out of 9 in his first 3 games for Palace. NOT, i'd like Palace but would love to see this arrogant big headed git get relegated to wipe that smug grin of his face, and that's nothing to do with being an ex WH manager but the way he acted in the England job,

3.) 04 Jan 2017 11:21:49
i agree warrington about fletcher and martinez ( who by the way has been banging goals in for fun ) in under 23s? has slav got something against the man? it beggars belief because our # strikers! ain't or won't be do the buisnes that's plainly obvious.

4.) 04 Jan 2017 12:43:17
Hmmm, lol, remember allardyce has never had a club relegated YET. Not sure what's going on with our transfer plans but I'll be extremely surprised if we spend any decent money on ANY players in this window. WATFORD will get Hogan. More to the point, Payet is wanted by Marseille who are willing to give us CASH and LASSANA Diarra and Chelsea want Antonio (what value do we reckon for Antonio)?

{Ed002's Note - I have explained where there is interest in terms of transfers and I have explained that you perhaps got over-exceited by the 80 or whatever it was "bid gone in" deals you were told about in DEcember by another - it was simply not true but it is pretty much futile to actually explain what is going on. As for Diarra, I am sure l'OM would be more than happy to include him in a deal but it will take a serious error of judgement by WHU to take him and pick up that goes with him. They will be going back to West Ham with a package after a brief discussion on Monday (that I told you about). There are a couple of players that might well be options for West Ham that may be included in any deal.}

5.) 04 Jan 2017 13:00:00
Hi Phil

I would value him at £25m plus in todays market, but in no way should we even consider losing him, me for one will be absolutely gutted if he goes.

6.) 04 Jan 2017 13:07:19
Hogan is injury prone and Defoe in my opinion would be a waste of silly money we ain't going to go down so that would be a panic buy if we were in a relegation battle there are 5 or6 teams not in our league so I think we will get away with it this season I would cash in on PAYET andNOBLE i'm HOPING A CHINNESE CLUB COMES IN WITH A 50 MIKLL BID FOR PAYET . COYI.

7.) 04 Jan 2017 14:24:51
I hear we are still messing about trying to get Carlos Bacca and I reckon that's why no other bids have gone in for other strikers despite what tabloids say. A sign of typical West ham business is that we are having difficulty moving Zaza OUT. Apparently he never wanted to play for us in the first instance and now we can't get rid, in typical West Ham fashion we can't sell a player we don't want so what chance we buy one?

{Ed002's Note - (a) Someone is misleading you about Bacca - he won't be moving to West Ham in January. (b) "Bids gone in" is not how the business works. (c) West Ham cannot "sell" Zaxa. They can assist him in finding a new contract or honour the contract they agreed. They have interest in strikers as I have explained.}

8.) 04 Jan 2017 14:30:15
Sunderland turn down SECOND Bid from West ham.

9.) 04 Jan 2017 18:35:59
if ayew cost us 20 million phil mikail is 40 million all day long mate.

10.) 04 Jan 2017 22:31:15
We might not be looking for a keeper but we need to.

11.) 04 Jan 2017 22:28:29
It is amazing how little some know about how the transfer market actually works. Ed has attempted to explain a few times but people still keep referring to packages where players are offered on PX without them even having been asked if they would move, players having prices that aren't even going to be sold, wages being talked about before a club has accepted an offer. January is an incredibly difficult time to get an deals done as nearly all players will be contracted and in a short space of time you need to reach agreement between the clubs for a player, then reach agreement with the player once you are allowed to discuss terms, typically through an agent, then do medicals. Players that are getting regular game time clubs rarely will sell so you are looking at but players, players that have fallen out, or offering above the odds. Then you need to accept good players aren't necessarily going to want to move to a lower club that may get relegated or will struggle unless they get massive wages and escape clauses. All in all I think we will be lucky to get much in now and should not be so willing to get rid of the likes of Payet until the summer. The tea is decent enough to finish mid table and will be easier to assess and bring in players in June-September as contracts end and players are more willing to move anyway.

12.) 04 Jan 2017 22:59:06
Aussie, your post makes good sense, but from the experience of last summer where the Board spent very badly, the fans are clearly pessimistic in the Board's capability to deliver great players.

Its important the Board do get this window "right" as its the last one before the season ticket renewals, to avoid having the renewals percentage really low.

13.) 05 Jan 2017 09:11:42
That's why they won't let payet go until the summer and all the renewals are in brooking cynical of me I know, personally I agree with audience get a couple of loans in and go again in summer.

14.) 06 Jan 2017 09:55:51
Warrington Seymour. Loved the comment about Sam allardyce. I'm glad it's not only me who feels like that. As much as I would love to see him fail, I woul hate to see Palace drop out of the league. To be honest, if he keeps them up, I don't believe people will praise allardyce as the team has enough talent for an Alsatian to keep them up. I think Pardew would have kept them up given time.

02 Jan 2017 11:10:35
Hi ed02 I know we spoke about this yesterday but I have read this morning that we did make a bid for dembele before he went to Celtic, Fulham refused our offer and took it to tribunal then they got less than we offered from Celtic. Any truth in this?

Pauliron

{Ed002's Note - He was out of contract - there was no offer and Fulham could not have accepted it for an out of contract player in any case. Someone has been teasing you.}

1.) 02 Jan 2017 11:17:49
Thanks no more questions on dembele I promise haha.

{Ed002's Note - No problem Paul.}

When is Martinez going to get his chance he has scored 10 in 9 games was out for about 4 games come back and scored in the next 3 matches the last being a hat trick. I know he is only 19 but surly he has proved himself we could have our 15-20 goal a season striker right under our noses. COME ON SLAV GIVE THE BOY A CHANCE. Also shame Samuelson has been sent to Peterborough for rest of season would have been nice to see him have a run out too

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL COYI.

{Ed002's Note - In answer to Mike, Marseille has no shortage of money and have a number of players that they are working on right now - it is quite, quite astonishing that West Ham think they have no money. They actually had a meeting in London today about another player. It seems that the WHU fans actually have no interest in what has happened and what is happening with Payet otherwise I would have provided details. But I have no intention of doing so any longer.}
