Thomas Chory, tbh never heard of him, obviously this is driven by Kretinsky
Cheap purchase, who knows? He’s 6 ft 6 ins. If he scores goals, that’s what we need. Pablo couldn’t hit a bar door with a banjo.

Joyful, I think we all get the picture that you don't like Pablo, mate. Maybe we should look at how he performs at the lower level first? Nobody wants egg on their face...

Am I alone in that theory? If he was a player, why are West Ham looking for forwards? They have Fulkrug doing nothing. Why are they looking?

Dabber, from what we saw last year, he doesn't get into goalscoring positions, can't shoot, can't head a ball, can't pass, can't dribble, and just runs around a lot like a headless chicken.
I wouldn't trust going into a season relying on him. Personally, I think Nuno should've been sacked for signing him on its own. It was an obvious signing of his mate's son, who is clearly inept.

Joyful/Robbo, I value your opinions, but I don't necessarily agree. He works hard and had some lovely touches. He also found the net in a lower-level league and was put under pressure as a young lad (ignore the beard, he's little more than a kid) by joining a team in a relegation battle in January.
Just give him a chance! As for sacking the manager on that purchase alone, I'd rather point a finger at the people who wasted the Declan Rice money on JWP, Cornet, Kilman, Fulkrug and, to a lesser degree, Alvarez.

And Joyful, as you say, Fulkrug doesn't want to be there! You are certainly not on your own, but I've put a post on banter highlighting why I don't think everything is as doom and gloom as is being made out.

Not a question of doom and gloom. You obviously see a player in Pablo, equally most on here don't think so.
Next season we will find out. It's a lower level, so he should score many goals. If you're right, I will apologise on here. I say he's below average, and have seen nothing so far to change that opinion. Sorry.

No need to apologise, mate. We all have opinions. It's nothing personal.

He scored plenty in Portugal. The question is: to what extent is the Championship a better league than the Portuguese one?

Markro, The Championship is a lot more physical than the Portuguese league, with players getting a lot less time as the tempo is a lot higher and more frantic.
Not better but different. Would you rely on him and be happy if we didn't sign another striker?

You need to make your mind up here. One moment you're saying this is a super tough league everyone playing low block and we have no chance of promotion it's all doom and gloom. The next minute you are saying this league is super easy to score loads of goals so if Pablo doesn't he is crap. I do agree that he isn't a great striker his touch and pass is poor and the deal to bring him in was shady.
But given the choice of him or Fulkrug in the starting 11 I would rather have Pablo. As Dabber says he is a hard worker and that counts for something and he may possibly improve if he gets on the scoresheet early doors. Let's not forget the shady deal that brought Fulkrug to us at a massive cost from his mate St Tim Steidten.

If Taty gets injured, Nuno will move Bowen to the centre. Pablo will never be the sole target man. I think he'll sit behind whoever is up top.
Would I like another reliable, proven front man to come in? Of course, who wouldn't? But I think Pablo will get plenty of playing time this season.
I'll be disappointed if he doesn't get 8 to 10 goals in this league.

Well that's 3 of us that agree Pablo deserves to at least be given a go. As I said, he's only a young lad, give him a break. Robbo, as for the Portuguese league being less physical than the Championship, I wouldn't know in all honesty, as I don't watch it.
I don't think physicality is an issue with him though, he seems to be tough enough. Time will tell.
