I think we all need to be patient in relation to new players joining the club. Expectations are too high at a phase in the clubs restructuring with many unknown or fluid variable.

Firstly, the clubs debt needs to be managed and a financial plan put in place under the stewardship of the new majority share holder Daniel Kretinsky. We are also in the process of appointment and new recruitment director. All of these factors need to be sorted, key players convinced to stay and aligned with the new project and promotion plan before we can move forward.

There are players that will leave of course. I suspect these will be Matteus Fernandez and Summerville and only once these have a been sold will there be players coming in.
Hang in there irons. When the t's are crossed and i's dotted, things will start moving quickly.
Unlike Sullivan, Kretinsky is a thinker and a business strategist and will do things properly.

Couldn't agree more. ????

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, we do need to move on. We know from past seasons how bringing players in with no pre season works out, and theres just over a month until kick off. Of course, there are a lot of things to be sorted out, but one would have thought there would be some planning towards the scenario that's unfolded; it could hardly have come as a surprise.

I get the piece around the players and who's going and staying, but you would have thought backroom staff would have been sorted by now.

Agreed Robbo. It's as if Sullivan "dust" has rubbed off on everyone at the club.

Redrobbo, I know we need to move quickly, but until we know what the financial landscape will look like and recruitment is done, we can't determine which of our players we will keep (can keep) and which need to be sold.
It's nothing to do with Sullivan dust at all, it's about a new man at the helm who wants to work from a solid base, knows which players he wants to keep and convince to stay.

Buying monkeys on the cheap doesn't help the organ grinder.
We need a plan. We always complain about a scattergun effect, but Kretinsky isn't like that. He's focused and deliberate in his business dealings.

Good point COYI64. What are we always moaning about, scattergun approach and lots of leaked tales about which players we are after. This time round we've had none of that rubbish. I'm not sure what you want, Mac (Phil). Shall we start inventing some, or get some official leaks going so we can let everyone know who we really are after?

I think you've completely missed the point of what I was saying. I've said I get about seeing which players are staying and going before we sign anyone, but that has n9 bearing on backroom staff. I cannot believe they did not know there was a possible scenario where we got relegated and Kretinsky took over and had a list of recruitment/directors of football that they had already spoken to.

PS, he isn't a new man completely. He's been around the club a while now, and with the amount of shares he has had, one would think he had a fairly significant say in club matters already.
