You're very quiet chaps, if we had lost that game you would've all been on here slagging the manager off, you can't even be bothered to praise him when he deserves it, pathetic!

You’re right mate, credit where credit is due. Still think he should have started with the German up top. I really don’t like soler, he’s so bad, and ward prowse for me is not a prem player anymore. Wan bisaka was brilliant. And to top it the spuds lost so we leap frogged them both. I hope we get results the next two games. If we finish above Utd and the spuds I will be happy. I could be happier but I would be happy. But yeah Stevie, I’m chuffed for potter for today, if we get four points next two games. Let the man have a propa go. Good win peeps, very good win.

I’ve just given him credit on a post further down. And I am a man of my word and I will stand by what I say. After today’s great result we must fancy ourselves to win the last 2 . If that happens I will hold my hands up and say I may have been wrong he is NOT a worse manager than Loppy. He is as good a manager, as Loppy, as they both will have won 6 in a similar amount of games.
I’m sure you will be saying similar things as you must be so proud of that. That’s if he wins the last 2 games. Which, I’m sure we all want to happen.
But it’s a bit rich Stevie as many potter fans went missing (you may not have) because they knew they had no argument, after 0 win in 8 games they’ve now all come back out the woodwork. I’m sure Potter will soon be mentioned along with Pep, Klopp and Ancelotti

I said we played better but crowing after one good performance in 5 months is just sad to be honest, he's been terrible fact he's got a worse record than Loppy fact, we played better against Newcastle under Loppy, the facts are fairly 9bvious one decent performance against the worst man u side with eyes on a European final.doesnt paper over the cracks unfortunately

Hammer-D I said I was taking a break from commenting on the site for a few weeks as we were going around in circles. I also said I’d keep reading for Joyfulls transfer updates. I don’t appreciate being accused of coming out of the woodwork. I’ve been a contributer to this site for over 10 years now but have to take a break now again because of the constant whinging negative b***ox the same people keep spouting month after month …it gets boring!

Exactly dabber. What did you want from us stevie? A grovelling apology? It's great that we win. But does that gloss over the awful performances lately?

Well done west ham. Am I wrong about potter? Who knows. Time will tell. But I have my doubts would loved to be proved wrong.

Does ghat make you happier stevie?,

I thought you said you were taking a break from posting for the rest of this season.
Anyway, at last a decent performance from the team which confirms they are not a load of rubbish as some were saying. But it’s one performance. Well played lads.

Dabber I was very happy with the great result as I said in other posts Potter deserved credit when he has taken so much criticism from people like me. I will be more than happy to repeat this again if it keeps happening.
But the over-reaction was a bit overwhelming. We were accused of hating Potter, I can only speak for myself and that just isn’t true.
My posts are a mixture of fact and sarcasm and as I have said on numerous occasions if potter turns it around I will quite happily say I may have been wrong and see our club start competing again and see a more competitive form of football, but importantly to me is it needs to be entertaining. If that happens I will be over the moon.
When you and some others said you were taking a break the implication was you would be back after seasons end or in the summer. Then we get one good performance and result about 2 weeks later and everyone is back and expecting anti potter people to go to confession and seek absolution .
You listed in another post 4 statements what some people may say about the performance yesterday and whilst it would be churlish to do that, you know full well they were all valid points.
I’m very happy with the game yesterday but my previous sarcastic post stands it highlights how poor Potter has been but let’s hope this is followed up because it needs to be.

The response yesterday was to ensure the forum remains balanced. If we hadn’t defended Potter, you Tinlegs (POTTER OUT) would have done exactly what you have done, praise the players but not the manager and thrown a lot of cold water on what was a well disciplined and executed performance from the players AND the coach. Many of you slated his team selection before a ball was even kicked, somebody even called him the worst coach ever. I’m delighted we performed like that for the players, the supporters and for Potter. I did say that I was taking a break for the rest of the season but if I choose to change my mind in defence of fairness that’s my prerogative.

Hammer-D, I’ve always thought your comments border on fairness and reasonability and the one above is no different so apologies for snapping at the woodwork comment buddy

No problem Dabber. You are right, we do need a balance so don’t disappear. many of us have come and gone and returned again over the years. It is a banter site at the end of the day. Yesterday’s performance was a step in the right direction so let’s just hope it continues and it is backed up with some consistency

Can you honestly say, hand on heart, that you were happy with that team selection? And team selections usually are announced before a ball is kicked. One match against a vastly inferior team does not mean we are out of the woods with the coach, and can you explain what advantages were gained by his substitutions? POTTER OUT! No change there then. ?

12 May 2025 10:32:12
By the way, Dabber, not changing my mind in defence of the truth is also my prerogative, wouldn’t you agree?

12.) 12 May 2025
12 May 2025 12:22:04
Tinlegs, “not changing my mind in the defence of the truth”, who says it true, you, it’s your opinion but you are so adamant that you are right all the time. According to you when we win it’s because the players were good or the opposition poor. When we lose it’s because Potter or Loppy or Moyes doesn’t know as much about football as you do. It’s a classic game of heads I win tail you lose that you play Tinlegs and it’s been persistent moaning for at least 3-4 years. You nicknamed Moyes the Argyle Gargoyle when he coached us to the first bit of silverware in over 30 years and said the same thing about him as you’re saying about Potter. The thing is though it’s not always what you say it’s the way you say it. You’re obviously an educated guy by the way you write but that comes across in your arguments which appear to be written with an air of superiority, as if everyone you respond to is like something you’ve trodden in. The way you’ve responded to Brooking over the last few months has sometimes been downright rude and I’m surprised he continues to contribute. This is not the first time this has happened. Treat those that disagree with you with the same respect that you treat those that agree. It’s supposed to be a friendly banter page …….

13.) 12 May 2025
12 May 2025 15:46:51
By the way I wouldn’t say Manchester Utd are vastly inferior in my opinion

14.) 12 May 2025
12 May 2025 15:39:27
I can only say the truth as I see it, just like you, Dabber. And what about all the rudeness and personal insults against me I’ve put up with over the past few years? No mention of that, but there again it’s probably because you think you are right. Now where have I heard that before? I’ve moaned about Moyes, Lopetegui and Potter because they’ve been sh*t. When we get a good manager I’ll stop moaning.

15.) 12 May 2025
12 May 2025 16:54:45
Can’t remember ever being rude or personally insulting you Tinlegs. Can you give me an example?

16.) 12 May 2025

I wonder if the fact that Paqueta wasn't playing yesterday bad a positive effect let's face if he's been under immense unfair pressure for the last 2 years

12 May 2025 19:43:08
“Can’t remember ever being rude or personally insulting you Tinlegs. Can you give me an example? “
Come on, don’t twist what I said. I never said you personally were rude and insulting Dabber, but others certainly have been.

18.) 12 May 2025
12 May 2025 21:39:24
Sorry Tinlegs but genuinely thought you were insinuating I’d been rude to you, wasn’t twisting your words but read your comment back, it does read like there was an accusation. I don’t think it’s right for anybody to be rude or personal on this site, we’re all adults and more importantly West Ham fans. Debates will by very nature get heated but we can all try and diffuse this by thinking about what we’re writing and waiting to calm down before we write. Life would be boring if we agreed all the time but at least we should respect each others opinions.

19.) 12 May 2025
12 May 2025 21:44:12
Merceri, I definitely think Pacqueta not playing had a positive effect. Look at a lot of the games we’ve played well in (Liverpool away aside) and they’ve been games he’s been absent (Arsenal away prime example) I know he has issues but I just feel Kudus and Bowen play better together when he’s not there and that he is lazy when it comes to tracking back after losing possession .
