Let’s be clear. Spurs are at £70 m plus a few gettable addons, Man U have not moved from £60 m plus some medium achievable addons
Man Utd have increased their personal offer to Fernandes somewhat, but so what?
It’s Wh that will make any decision not the player, and United have done a lot of talking, a lot of yak but no more money
Kretinsky stands firm, put up or walk away.
How refreshing.

It is refreshing and a little overdue.

Well, he's going to leave; it's just a matter of how much for. Man U and Spurs will both have other targets, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
In other news, SSN are reporting Koppen will be head of recruitment, and transfers will be decided between him, Nuno and Noble.
If that's true, Krentensky has learnt nothing; this is exactly what happened with Sullivan, Steidten and Moyes. It would also go some way to explaining why Nickson preferred Wrexham.

I reckon we give them a chance and see what happens.
At least now wheels might start turning on player recruitment and sales.

Maybe, but in all honesty, if Nuno, with all his managerial experience, and Noble, with both a mass of playing experience and scouting, are all over the show and don't know what they're doing, then we might as well give up, because the acquiring of players is all about opinions. They know what we need; can they sort it out? We shall see.

I think the player selection can be a complete lottery; sometimes they come off, sometimes they don’t. I take your point, Robbo, from a previous post, that Sullivan and Moyes had too much control over Steidten, but it still doesn’t detract from the fact that most of Steidten choices were awful, and we always talk about corrupt West Ham chairman and managers, and their preferred agents. Well, if the Fulkrug signing wasn’t a Steidten corrupt purchase, I don’t know what was. Slaven Bilic’s first season at West Ham was great, as all signings worked out brilliantly, but it was a one off, probably a bit of skill and a bit of luck.
The DOF will need to point the club in a direction of style of play and set up, where new players and managers can be identified before they may be needed. But, the head of recruitment must be able to work with the manager, otherwise it will obviously fail. Liverpool have a system where talent is identified, but Klopp and Slott still had a say in who was purchased.
