This is presently how I see WH major problem.

Over the last few seasons the promoted teams have scored 75/90 goals.

Let’s make the assumption, and it’s a big one that Bowen and Taty stay on.

How many can they score between them? 40? Maybe 50, and I don’t see that many, so where are the goals coming from?


WH need a proven championship striker like Vipotnik.

We must bring in a striker, forget Pablo, he couldn’t strike a match.

I’m assuming we strengthen the defence and midfield. I think this is doable, but up front, we are lacking, fie power.

Agreed. As you say, Pablo couldn't strike a pose, so we desperately need a goalscorer. Traditionally, this is the most difficult position to fill, and the most expensive. Enter Kretinsky.....

Whilst, I completely understand your point, you don't win games without scoring...

Technically, we could win every game 1-0 and get promoted. That's 46 goals in total.

So maybe Taty and Bowen will be able to achieve that between the two of them.

Let's hope for a solid defence, eh? Hahaha.

As I've said on other posts, it's not just the goal scoring, it's the creating of the chances in the first place. We have no pace, and no one that can do a trick or pick a pass to unlock a defense this year. There will be a lot more onus on us to attack, as we will be seen as a scalp.

Other teams will be happy to low block us. I'd say we need a couple of wingers that can cross the ball, and a big forward that's good in the air to get on the end of it.

We've always seemed to struggle to recruit in the striker department. They've got to get this absolutely right if they want promotion. Go and get the best that the Championship offers, maybe try and lure prem players that are not getting as much game time as they would like, but would rip it up in the Championship. ?

Good shouts by all. To be successful in this league, you gotta tear it up, and then bedrock for next year is solid defence.

I'm not convinced we are anywhere near ready.

Behind closed doors friendly coming up against Colchester (to give Nuno an idea who is worth keeping).

Surely he knows by now?

We have players who will be moved on, and we need a striker and replacement for Fernandes.

Lots of names linked, but it's West Ham: slow slow slow, now let's panic buy cause we wasted the window.
