Huge news regarding Southampton. If their appeal is unsuccessful then their players are going to be pissed off and will probably want out. Let’s get Downes back and Harwood-Bellis.

Would take Harwood-Bellis but I just don't rate Downes. If he wasn't a West Ham fan, no one would want him back. Looked bang average this year in the Championship, and has at times found himself benched.

Bloody outrageous decision against S'oton, what do these blokes do that make these rules, try to justify the enormous salaries they are paid?Watching another team ain't going to make their team play better, any staff member can go & watch their next team's opponents play so what's the difference?
Rules are rules but that's total b———s imo!
Feel really sorry for S'oton, seasons work thrown away because of a bunch of blood sucking tossers in the F.A.

Thinking they rule the World???⚒⚒⚒⚒

All the clubs in the Football League divisions sign up to the same charter.

Although I personally agree with your sentiment, you must bear in mind that, watching a normal game of the opponents beforehand, is nothing to do with unlawful entry to a private training ground, and videotaping tactics that may be used against a future opponent.

Suchlike is in the rules that Southampton signed up to. For me, a fairer punishment would be a massive fine, and a six-point deduction, irregardless of whichever league Southampton play in next season.

Would you feel so strongly if Southampton were Spurs and WHU were Middlesbrough?

They watched training to gain an unfair advantage. It's sporting integrity at stake, and they've rightly been punished for it.

If there's no advantage to be had, like you say, then why on earth did Saints do this on 3 separate occasions?

A poxy fine wouldn't have dented a 200mil promotion game much, would it?

Ask yourself this:

Was their cheating worth it?
Will Saints ever do that again?
Will anyone else dare to?

I feel sorry for the players and the fans of Saints, but not the club.

Irons87, if your post is referring to me, yes I would still feel the same but obviously well pleased. ? Did you know that was against the rules, although you're not in a need to know position? But yes, the club obviously knew, acting like James Bond.

? Still adamant it's an effing stupid rule for a sport when anybody can go & watch an opponent play. ??⚒⚒⚒⚒
