When we had a chance of signing McTominay, I was one of the only ones who thought he'd be a good signing. What a top player. He'd be perfect for us.

Mctominay, would only have come to WH as a last resort, had there been no other offers, so never going to happen unfortunately

I believe at the time there were no other offers. I think Moyse wanted him and Maguire. Both would have enhanced our side.

I agree with you Brooking, both would have indeed enhanced our side. I think at the time the feeling was both would be under whelming signings and a backward step. In hindsight not signing them was probably a mistake but none of us are in possession of a crystal ball

I personally didn’t criticise a potential Scott mactominey purchase as I think he is a good player. Not so sure about Maguire, although how our defence has panned out this year he may have been a decent buy and unlike our CBs he does like heading a ball. I imagine a big problem would have been cost and wages. They were both probably on a fair old screw

I would have loved the pair of them, fantastic signings, but neither would have considered us that’s for sure, Was amazed the posters that thought they would be dodgy signings, not sure if they’d been watching the same players I had seen? Remember one post saying Mactominay was a nasty player, that’s exactly what I expect& like in a player especially a defender!
