Remember that debate we were having on whether we would sell Paqueta for £60m, some were saying they would keep him and we have to build a team around him, I've just seen his stats,
His played 100 games for us, scored 14 and 6 of those were penalties and his had 9 assists, what's your thoughts?

Stevie, I put his stats on here a few weeks ago and said they were underwhelming. We have all have opinions and some people really like him. For me the stats don’t lie and I think an extra player in the midfield who can put a tackle in and break down play would be much better than starting Paqueta. Before anybody says where would the creativity come from, 9 assists in 100 games says it’s not coming from him regardless

Mate there were two players that stood out in a real bad performance, and it wasn’t paqueta, he was terrible. For me he needs to go

Take a look at his stats on fbref.com

His progressive passes are way higher than anyone else's in our team and regularly in top 5-10% across top 5 leagues depending on position. ball winning, dribbling, chances creation is also high.

For me he's more suited to playing a number 8 role linking defence and attack not an out an out 10, he's the man that plays the pass for the player then to get the assist, imo.

I thought the only players that have any credibility from that were Summerville, AWB and Areola. Sadly after the disaster the other night I can see that potential 60 million figure for Paqueta dropping significantly.

Stevie/ Brooking, never believed in “building a team around one player” there are 10 others, how can you actually do that, ask him who he thinks we should sign! what happens if you do that then he wants to leave! Apart from that he would appear to be able to dictate everything that goes on with the club, would cause a lot of friction within the club and players, also he gets a long term injury, then what? Sell for a good offer of £50m plus if it happens imo, it’s a team game! ⚒⚒⚒⚒
