Interesting, it was a bit of a kick about, which was expected, the team problems are still obvious, Diouf crosses were good, and in the most wasted, the need for a striker is glaringly obvious, midfield is a bunch of tortoises, the team is very average, we will know a lot more playing against 3 premier sides, in a weeks plus time, with respect to Grasshopper

Soucek can be useful on occasion, JWP imo is one of the 5/6, players, we must move on somehow, it’s very difficult, to get these people gone

Joyfull I think most on here would agree with you in regards to JWP but I think the most important person to agree with this is Potter. He seems to love him and sees something we don’t.

JWP fits Potter’s style of negative play perfectly. Plodding and boring, heavily reliant on possession football, going nowhere. JWP regularly slows down the play with his constant sideways and back passing. Soucek has been discussed ad nauseam. He takes up a first team squad midfield place because he pops up periodically and scores. No mention of his misses. Sorry, but it’s not enough to warrant him keeping a decent midfielder out of the squad. They both need to go if we are to progress.

It’s not a question of negativity, the description of JWP in my view is correct, that’s exactly how he plays, and if Potter continues, with the same tactics he has so far employed, we will get found out, irregardless of who comes in, I’m hoping that Potter has learnt something, and WH stop the negative football, it will get us nowhere
