Flimsy squad. Did you watch last night's game? Southampton were not far from a best X1, while we had a team of youngsters. And they are one of this league's strongest sides, as will be shown at the season's end. We need a dominant central defender. And, as long as our players' attitude is correct, we will take a hell of a lot of stopping.

Yup, watched it all. Poor at the outset, then started to play better, though there was a lot of sideways stuff (even the commentator mentioned it). Ajala scored two - well done, but I can't recall him beating the full back, one on one. Orford was excellent, as was Golembeckis. Meyers did a reasonable job, too.



We really took it away from Soton after the substitutions.

Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled with the result, but one swallow does not a summer make.

I am generally optimistic about this season, but we need more depth in several positions to give ourselves a better chance of promotion.

Yes, Mukasa was great - lots of pace and energy. Should be starting, in my view, if we can find a way to accommodate him, Taty, and Piroe (who also looked good).

Orford was class, and should rotate with Magassa for that 6 role if the latter stays.

Then I'd have Kante/Engles rotating for the more box to box midfield role.

Mayers ok, but he does make me a bit nervous on the ball. Lamadrid is getting slated by some, but I thought he did ok. Ajala v good for the goals, but otherwise pretty quiet.

Engels, Orford and Souchek are a really good Championship midfield imo.
