Hi fellas, Liverpool contacted WH yesterday re Sturridge, they want a concrete proposal, and to do a deal on him prior to the next window IF WH want to do it, apparently WH are also interested in another Liverpool player trying to find out who this is, Lkverpool are trying to put together apre season deal on Aubemeyang and getting together sufficient funds to do so IRONMIKE.

{Ed002's Note - Someone is teasing you again Mike.}

Sorry my old friend the call happened yesterday, I don't know anything else on this matter Regards Mike.

I know sturridge is a difficult one as he is not 100% fit, but my question is even a 90% fit sturridge a 100% better than what we have ( AC excluded )?

Sturridge scores goals in PL if he's fit for half a season he'd still be our top scorer.

no, i'm not a fan of sturridge in the slightest.

A FIT Sturridge would do very well at WH BUT with his injury record who knows, on balance If it were me I would look elsewhere, Especially for the type of money Liverpool would demand IRONMIKE.

I don't think Sturridge is hungry enough anymore. would he really put in the shifts or just collect the money every week.

In a way I cast my mind back ( an old mind ) to Ian wright . Couple of goals, injury, big wage bill and a tv programme he never missed . Maybe I'm just being negative?

Whats type of person is sturridge? Does he work hard for the team? Run after nothing balls to apply pressure? defends when the team is under the pump? Can he hold up play? I only have eyes for west ham, so I haven't seen enough of him. We know he can finish but if he's not working both ways, I'd rather look elsewhere. Plus we already have 2 strikers with bad injury records, getting a third isn't that smart.

{Ed001's Note - he does track back well though it is never highlighted on MOTD etc. He will often chase back to cover an out of position player and end up in the full back areas to help out. As for him as a person, he is one of the most dedicated pros I know of. He does not drink or smoke or sniff coke. He applies himself in training and spends a lot of time helping out younger players in the squad at Liverpool.
He probably needs another full season at least to get anywhere near his best. It took Falcao three years for instance. There are many other examples that took a similar timeframe to recover. However he has a fantastic attitude and I for one would wish him well anywhere he went, as he has been exemplary at Liverpool.}

I think he would do very well for us, and I would welcome him to the club, AC needs a quick man along side to pick the second ball he gets us but it often a bit to isolated.

I think I'd rather have Javier Hernández if he is available.

Thanks for some insight Ed. If he's the type of person you described, I'd love him at west ham.

Even Carragher says unless Sturridge scores he brings nothing else to the team! . and he doesn't score enough for the team to carry the fella! . I hope he's not our main target striker wise as it's proven that he's not on the pitch often enough and we can't risk having 2 Strikers that can and will break down over a season . and it's not if it's how long for!

we need to be looking at younger fitter and hungrier Strikers looking to make a name for themselves!

We're never going to attract players like Lacazette or of similar ilk unless we have champions league football to start! . we are where we are one week good the next week bad until we have the financial clout that the man city, chelsea etc have and can go out and buy 6 or 7 £30+mill players and upgrade the quality all over the first team!

just seems to hold the ball too long an pass back when he could go forward I'd rather have welbeck I recon hard topic though. would love us to find a young version of Suarez just an animal on the pitch strong hungry for goals.

Really great insight Ed1, and after that article a while ago about certain players professionalism (can't remember which ex-pro said it) that is very refreshing. Not sure how professional AC is these days, I am hoping that he's seen the light and keeping himself in shape for the end of his career.

Another name to throw into the mix, Jamie Vardy, he would do well getting onto Carrolls knock downs, weather he's available in the summer is another matter, Sullivan did say he would like to try and sign English players, and I seem to recall he made a bid for him in the summer.

I make ed 100% right the only thing against sagna is his injury problems which I know is staying the obvious but as for dedication that's not in question for me so if the money's right for me it's a no brainier and is it true ed we are in talks to sign wanna from city.

I think he would be great for us, he's a top class striker who is far better than what we have. The injuries would be a concern but I don't think he's been injured much this year, he just needs someone to believe in him. I do have a concern of his decision making, he can be a little greedy but what top goalscorer over the years hasn't had a bit of that, on top of that he must be desperate to impress and bag goals every time he puts a Liverpool shirt on at the moment because he knows if he don't he'll be out the team again.
