Story in Newcastle paper that Carroll and Billie Mucklow are moving into a house up there. Geordies are in a frenzy. what's new with them. anybody else heard this? Probably wishful thinking on their part

He has bought a second home, probably as he has 2 children from former relationships that live near Newcastle.

Well someone was bound to start the rumour.

I think its probably safe to say that after a very very long summer of BS we've about concluded our business. What puzzles me is when we APPARENTLY bid £43m for Lacazette (as is being reported by every man and his dog today) but, it seems we have very little money left for any other business and have to pursue LOANS which quite clearly have NOT WORKED (Gorkan Tore)
NOW, if we were bidding £43m before sails, how much would we have had to spend after the sales of Tomkins, Valencia and Sakho.
This is EXACTLY why we don't progress in Europe and are currently quite poor. You pay for what you get. Pay peanuts and you get monkeys. Bilic has been saying for a week that he wants BONY but ONLY on LOAN, REALLY? Same as REMY, another he wanted on LOAN, REALLY? If there is no money why hang on to Valencia and Sakho. DEspite Sakho's apparent bad back we could still have sold Valencia and used that money to buy REMY outright (who I CAN GUARANTEE would have scored goals) but No, we keep hold of a player that is quite clearly NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Villa come calling, we say NO! Are they having a laugh! Am sick of the MICKEY MOUSE Way we do things. Look at how many clubs have out spent us this summer and then we wonder why PAYET don't wanna play. Quite clearly he sees our acquisitions as poor as we do, its a joke!

2.) 30 Aug 2016 09:06:59
Haha you do come out with a load of old rubbish Phil. You must constantly sit in a corner rocking backwards and forwards checking this page every 5 mins waiting for Messi or ronaldo to be announced, and when it don't happen you go mental. Just chill, well be fine. We got a better squad than last year and a better squad than most of the league.

3.) 30 Aug 2016 09:07:04
Don't think our business is done yet.

4.) 30 Aug 2016 09:16:26
PMSL, I think the fact that we've gone back to Lyon with £43m for Lacazette shows we're not done YET. Agree with you HAMMER316 that we've got a better squad than last year but our transfer dealings have not been good.

5.) 30 Aug 2016 09:18:11
we've got enough strikers now zaza carroll fletcher calkeri and ayew Bilic only wants a loan to cover the time ayew is out understandably

personally I don't think remy would be that good anyway, I think there's question marks over his strength and work rate to play that lone striker role Bilic favours he had one good season at newcastle is all

we need a rb as a priority I like byram there but we need competetion and cover for him

how long before we are linked to sick note Wiltshire? can see them letting obiang go Wiltshire playing for 9.2 seconds tripping over a blade of grass then being out for the season.

6.) 30 Aug 2016 10:53:27
You called it and we are second favourites.

7.) 30 Aug 2016 10:58:54
On a serious note, I hope we are working to try and get the RB we desperately need.

8.) 30 Aug 2016 11:41:01
I think Phil needs to chill out. 3 games in and you're already slating the team. Yes we need a Rb. We haven't got a top class player but remember Phil, we aren't a top team. We tried. We failed. Get over it and start backing the players we have. With a fully fit squad it's a very good team. Go lie down and come back when your attitude improves.

9.) 30 Aug 2016 12:20:57
I don't understand why phil1060 still going on about 43mill as wasn't this about 2 months ago. we cannot afford 40+ mill now, there are more factors that come into our budget than just transfers, don't forget all the freebies will have had a sign on fee's etc. COYI's we do need a rb though.

10.) 30 Aug 2016 12:49:23
Phil. I think that was just a statement from lyon that we did bid but it was at the beginning of the window. just old news brought back up I . plus EXwhu employee said it was old news a little earlier today.

11.) 30 Aug 2016 12:58:05
To be honest, I know everyone is moaning about our dealings so far, and in some ways I am frustrated but I think we have to remember what DGS have done for us so far. We have changed around from where the Icelandic debacle left us to a squad challenging for Europe, got some seriously good players (Payet, Cresswell, Antonio, Lanzini, Kouyate, Ogbonna plus maybe some new gems this year) without overpaying. Oh, and don't forget a kick-ass new ground!
Yeah we could have thrown loads of money about and done a Leeds but I believe getting good value for money and loans with an option where possible when the jury is out (Tore, Zaza etc) is a good tactic. Sure we might miss out on a few like Slimani, but let's be honest, most of the names we were going for were never going to come to us, even if we did pay up (Bacca anyone? ) as we're just not there with the big boys just yet. I agree not sure it's so priority to have another striker, a current Italian international, Argentinian super prospect, Fletcher with Carroll and Sakho to come back is plenty when we only play one up front. Yes we need another RB but guys, let's not turn into Spurs supporters here and after one good season think we are top tier overnight. Not so long ago we were in the Championship. I for one am happy with where we're going, don't see all this doom and gloom. Get behind DGS and SB! COYI.

12.) 30 Aug 2016 13:18:56
barnie884 you took the words right out of my mouth. We are an up and coming team, with a lot of potential. We can't attract players like Ronaldo and Messi and spending huge sums of money on players with no premier league experience is a huge risk. Bringing them in on loan with an option to buy is good business. Look at Lanzini.

And correct me if I am wrong but we were all saying that the squad was better than last season with the signings we had made. Everyone was buzzing about Tore, Feghouli and Nordtveit. Give it time.

All we need is a right back (my no. 1 target would be a loan deal for Matteo Darmian), sack off Valencia and bring in Bony. There is still time.

13.) 30 Aug 2016 14:42:54
Maybe its that time of the month for Phil.

14.) 30 Aug 2016 17:19:25
Good shouts boys. Bit more positivity. I watched a clip of when dgs took over the club earlier on and it really hit home where have come in that time. We were nearly gone and bust. They've done unbelievable to get us where we are. Are they perfect? No, but I'd have them over the 99% of owners out there. Last season was great, probably over achieved, this season we will do well to get top 8 again because it's going to be harder with the top teams improving massively. I'm certain well be fine once we get players back fit.

15.) 30 aug 2016 21:22:16
all i have to say is the two davids are multi -millionares if not billionares
thats why they like all the loans why do you think besikitas were desperate for us to buy tore for 13 mill now we wouldn't give them 3mill if that ain't so bad after all them tight ass davids i was one being negative last week but we need to get behind the team. coyi.

Some of our fans were desperate to sign Hogan, I know he got a bad one the other night, and I don't wish that on anyone, but he's hardly setting the place alight is he? We need to make the right decision about our strike targets, personally I'd prefer to try and resurrect Bony's career.

I don't think Sturridge is hungry enough anymore. would he really put in the shifts or just collect the money every week.

I wouldn't pay 15 mill for Hogan either. Ross McCormack and Jordan Rhodes score goals in the championship, they can't do it in the Prem. why does everyone think Hogan will?

No heart in that team. they are great when things are going well. soon as they go behind or the game is going against them. they can't fight for the win. bottle merchants

I agree Corby, that's why Sturridge would be a gamble. another sicknote is the last thing we need. For the rest of this season I'd give young Fletcher a chance, but with Sakho and probably Carroll gone, we do need a reliable striker to come in, Premiership proven preferably.

Maybe Nordtveit playing in his natural position helped him, hope he has turned the corner. you don't captain BMG if your rotten,

I don't get to many because of where I live etc. the last one was the reverse scoreline at the Boleyn. it was also the first time I had seen them beaten at home. nice to get a result against them like that.
