Eds, is there any substance to the City interest in Rice that’s being reported?

Apparently preparing to equal the £100m they paid for Grealish and offer £200k a week. Hmmmm, if you wanted to win trophies would you choose, Arsenal, United, Chelsea or City?

I reckon most Hammers would want him to go to City for several reasons.

1. We’re not going to compete with them anyway.

2. Puts Phillips even further down the pecking order and might make him consider leaving, or, better yet, he might be part of the deal.

3. We would rather he didn’t go to a London club.

4. Man U would want to offer McTominthug and Maguire and we near to steer clear of both.

All things considered, get on with it City.

Surely we could do a lot better than Phillips, a player Man City are desperate to get shot of? Much overrated in my opinion.

At the moment, the list of RICE replacements we have is nearly as long as our squad lol and gets longer everyday. It Started with Ward Prowse, Gallagher, Paulinha and Alvarez, then Gendhouzi, Fofana etc etc etc. Man City are apparently close to thw signing of Rice

I hope Rice goes to Man City and rips it up and proves all the doubters wrong ie Souness Keane Neville. With a quality manager like pep and the the players they have he will go to another level and a wider fan base than us will appreciate just how good a player he is.

Philips is an England international, therefore a good player. He would also link perfectly with Pacqueta. It would allow Pacqueta more free movement.
