We tried the Hollywood style manager in Pellegrini, and that nearly got us relegated!

What a nonsense analogy. You are comparing Pellegrini to someone like Xabi Alonso or Arne Slot! Ridiculous. And the only thing Hollywood about Pellegrini is that he resembled Bela Lugosi.

Let's face it, moyes is going nowhere.

Agreed Osh, but I still think we’ll have a different head coach next season. I can’t see him accepting the terms the board will offer him. Unless, of course, he undergoes a complete personalty change because he realises he wouldn’t get another job at a better or bigger club than WHU.

You do realise Pellegrini managed Man City, Real Madrid etc, therefore it is not nonsense. Be happy with what you have 6th place at Christmas. Not one manager since John Lyall has been successful! Only Pardew got close. Too many people on here spout about the football. There is nothing wrong with winning ugly. It’s all about winning, at last we have a manager who wins and still you are not happy.

Mark. It’s nonsense because today’s modern managers are nothing like the managers of old. Pellegrini is of the same era as Desperate Dave. And I’ll never be happy with what we have when there’s room for improvement. We can do better with this pool of players, playing positive football. Ambition mate, ambition. Not just sitting back and accepting a top eight position playing negative defensive football. Just because it’s not yet been achieved, doesn’t mean it never will be.

@Markwhu1, genuine question do you not think the likes of Alonso, Slot, De zerbi, Howe, Emery couldn't get more out of or at least the same out of this squad while playing better football that Moyes?

Emery yes. Rated him at Arsenal. His sacking was probably down to spending £72m on Pepe, who was poor at best.

Your missing one massive point MARKWHU, look at the players DD has at his disposal it's the best starting 11 I've ever seen at west ham, therefore a new manager would Potentially take us to the next level with 3 very good signings imo.⚒⚒⚒

Oh do wake up Mark. It’s nonsense because today’s modern managers are nothing like the managers of old. Pellegrini is of the same era as Desperate Dave. Nothing wrong with top 8. We’re never going to displace Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal. These clubs are known throughout the world, very well. We are very well known in Britain. I am a realist, not a dreamer.

Mark,
I would say you are an obvious pessimist. There’s nothing wrong with dreams. They often come true if you put some effort in. You accept average and are satisfied with second best. A lot of supporters of the so-called “big six” probably used to think like you - no ambition. Me, I prefer to look for improvement.
A good illustration of how modern football is evolving can be found on YouTube “How Xabi Alonso Created His Own Style of Football”. It explains it in simple terms. As Alonso said, “We can beat any team”. But then again you’re happy with the boring low block style of nasty Desperate Dave. I suppose you can’t win them all, even though some of us want better for our club and understand how it can be achieved.

Conceding 20-30 shots on your goal most games then sucker punching a team, I'd call that winning luckily more than winning ugly.

There are some games we had no right winning this season but came away with all 3 points. If we keep playing the way we are I'd be very surpsied if we can keep picking up the amount of points we have done.

I'm not sure why people continue to peddle the narrative that it's either rubbish football and good results or good football and poor results, with so many managers proving you can have both.

Just imagine how good the likes of bowen, kudus and paqueta would be under a more attacking set up getting twice the amount of chances they usually get we'd bury teams.
