Some of the names being banded about as West Ham targets are actually quite exciting and I can see Tim Steidten's influence with a some of them. Whether we sign any of them is a whole different matter.

TAYLOR HARWOOD-BELLIS in the centre of defence. Young and English, captained the England under 21 team to victory at the recent Euros.

IAN MAATSEN at left back. He had at outstanding season at Burnley in the Championship last year on loan from Chelsea. Would be a great addition. Young, bags of pace, has bags of potential and can play as a wing back as well.

MAX AARONS at right back. He seems to have been around for ages now, but still only 23 years of age. Again has bags of pace and can play as a wing back.

EDSON ALVAREZ in my opinion is an outstanding option as the defensive anchor in midfield. He has great stamina, reads the game superbly, is strong in the tackle and seems perfectly suited for Premier League football. He can also play centre back should we need him to as well.

CONOR GALLAGHER would walk in to our current starting line up. He is an upgrade on Soucek and Downes, albeit a little more attack minded, but would be a perfect addition to our engine room, and again has the potential to improve (he is still only 23).

HARVEY BARNES would be the perfect complement to Bowen on the opposite wing. Strong, pacey and can put the ball in the back of the net. I know there is talk of him going to Newcastle, but I still harbour a hope given recent Newcastle links to the Napoli wide man Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

ARMANDO BROJA as a forward would be a decent addition too. Ok, admittedly he was out injured for a lot of last season, but he works hard, is physically strong, relatively pacey, has Premier League experience, scores goals and is probably feeling like he has a point to prove given the lack of opportunities at Chelsea.

Got to be honest, that would actually be the perfect transfer window for me, so let's face it, none of it will come to fruition. HAHAHA

We can all dream though

LMFAO, nope it won't happen LMAO. More like Mctominay, Maguire, Phil Jones, Robbie Savage, Gary Neville and Cavani (is there a link there somewhere LOL)? Personally, its time our board see sense and end MOYES tenure with our great club because the way we are going we are not going to be ready for the new season. Our squad is already one of, if not, the smallest in the Premier league and more and more players are leaving. Latest news also suggests he wants to revamp the front line and get rid of SCAMACCA, ANTONIO AND INGS (added to this RICE, LANZINI, Possibly Fornals, Cresswell possibly to Wolves, Johnson and Kehrer could all be gone! He has his eyes on Broja. I worry because we can't get a suitable replacement for DECLAN RICE so what chance any position?

The overreaction on this site to our summer transfer business is almost unbearable! Let's see where we are at 11pm on the 1st September before we start passing judgement on summer recruitment.

Lets be honest here, its more urgent and important where we are at start of the new season rather than 01st Sep

What transfer business? We are selling everyone

As far as I understand, only one starter has left the club and another player who is 30 and has been on the fringes this past season. Yet we're selling everyone?

More have left, including backroom staff than have arrived!

It's good business to bring in replacements before you let players go or at least have them line up what have we done
Absolutely nothing
What they doing trying to get as much interest on the money sitting in the bank

Not fussed on Max Aarons, been poor when he's played in prem and he's hardly set championship alight.

The rest would be good signings.

@plugger, Yes we have lost lanzini who was more of a fringe player last season but still played an important role in the European games and will need replaced.

Unfortunately we've just lost our captain and arguably our most important player. I don't mind us waiting on other targets that may be less pressing but the Rice replacement should already be signed up, We can't afford to wait for better value by going in later in the window we need to settle in players ASAP.

As Ed02 said only yesterday, "West Ham are actively pushing to sign players and talking with clubs" No need to panic just yet.

I fully accept that, Plug. In fact the present tense sentiment expressed in that line has been used in every summer window I can remember. Sadly it all too often develops into the well worn past tense phrase, “We tried.”

We all know we need players in a variety of positions to come into the squad and the sooner it happens the better integrated they will be for the ever nearing first day of the season.

Sullivan has a track record of thinking he’s playing it cute and exerting pressure by delaying until deadline day approaches to get the best deal.

Exactly Mmpr. Its Sully up to his old tricks trying to get the cheapest option available until of course when its too late and then they panic buy.

3 weeks tomorrow and the new season starts and there is no getting away from the fact that we have one of, if not THE smallest squad in the premier league and we may not be finished losing players. MOYES says he wants to revamp his forward line and INGS, SCAMACCA and ANTONIO can leave.

Teams need to let new players bed in and get used to the team. Look at Paqueta and Co last year?

Given the amount of time Moyes wants to "bed" players in, I think pluggernaut is missing the boat and Oshee has a very valid point. We all know the player situation, but the frustrating thing is the delayed lack of activity. Had our lot planned this properly, knowing full well that the Rice money was coming from one source or another, all the spadework on our top targets should have been done and dusted, with just the 't's left to cross and the 'i's left to dot. It appears that our board have been taken by surprise on a subject everyone has been talking about for months. Negotiations do happen before the window opens, don't they? It's only during the window that it's all revealed to the world. As all other Prem clubs do their business, Sully is biding his time to grab the leftovers for a 'nice little earner'. In Moyes, he has just the manager to go along with it. Crazy.
