So just going through the rumours I can find heading into the last week:

Paqueta to be announced hopefully seems likely now.

Gallagher - not sure why Chelsea would release a player who would get better;
Laborde - just a journalist story I think, has it got any legs? Why would we?
Fofana - would be a really good signing. Likely? I am not getting excited. Rennes have made an enquiry according to reports.
Lazaro - could see this happening only because it won't be expensive relatively and like most Brazilians probably would love to play in Europe. We don't have a good history of getting those deals over the line though.
Broja - Tuchel keeps saying he isn't available, and Chelsea are struggling to get striker signings done. They won't release him without others coming in and that may be last minute.
Szalai - reports we have made a bid. If we did get him then I could see sense in letting Dawson go.
Vanakan - looks like we will need a decent bid to get him as the Belgians don't really want to lose him. Could happen quickly if we want to pay enough that they can't say no, but would we need to do that?

Any others? See lot's of names on Twitter but I think the names will float around with some added and taken away till deadline.

Dawson to Villa - can't see that happening, especially after what Moyes said in his interview, unless we bring someone like Szalai in.
Ashby to Newcasle - surely they have to be kidding. 2.5M for a good young player - why would we entertain it? Send him on a loan to the Championship, or play him in the European games and Carabao Cup to get experience.
Rice - the always talked about one. Some stories about Chelsea still going to make a bid, some murmurs of Arsenal, Man Utd. I would doubt we would entertain a bid now unless it was stupid money, how would we fix the Defensive Midfield issues in the last few days? If we want to push on again this season we need him in that team and re assess in January or May.

I think we’ve got the back line covered, whatever the formation. Szalai is a decent player, but why bring him in unless we’re moving someone else on (Dawson?)

Vanaken is class: creative and scores goals. He would be a great addition, but is already 30. Brugge are pushing for too much considering his shelf life, so, sadly, chances are that one won’t happen

I’ve seen some reporting today about Barcelona being interested in Fornals. That would certainly recoup a decent dollop of our spending so far.

If Lanzini doesn’t move on now, he’ll get less and less playing time. That ACL injury was a disaster for his career. He simply hasn’t been the Jewel since.

It would be good to see Scamacca and Antonio on the pitch at the same time.

Yes saw the Fornals one - would be good money but don’t see it happening. Also see Brereton-Diaz is still getting mentioned too. This is possible I would guess as he is already in the UK and less of a risk.

I wouldn't lose any sleep if Lanzini and/or Fornals went through the exit. I don't want to see the back of Dawson, but I understand why he may want out. And the committee is still out on Soucek. If he can get back to the form of a couple of seasons ago.

We need to keep FORNALS just because we've bought new players doesn't mean we bought so we have to off load as you need a very strong bench and a big squad especially if your playing in europe.

Now that we are buying a lot of new players I am bemused that people are quick to want to get rid of players, who generally did pretty well last year but have started this year poorly. Getting rid of these players would leave us with a small and poor squad. The big issue is we need a good size and quality bench. If we were just going to react to this season so far then Bowen would be first out the door as he has been poor.

Latest Wan-Bissaka although original approach was rejected it seems Man U are looking at another right back and may be willing to let him leave if that comes off. If it happens, and all would need to happen with precision timing, then could see Ashby definitely wanting out. Hopefully we loan him out though as I think he could be a good player in the future. Barkley is getting some press again on a free. Don’t think he adds a lot but if he came merely as a back-up it would be ok, though would prefer someone who could challenge Soucek. Latest out sounds like Baptist might be let go. Again hope it is a loan or has a good sell on clause.

Thing is, I've never been convinced that Fornals is that good a player. He loses the ball all the time and his passing and shooting accuracy leaves a lot to be desired.

Just read that Lanzini has been told he can leave, either on loan, or permanently. Whilst I’m not that surprised (if it’s true) bearing in mind we’ve spent so much this window, squad size is what let us down last year.
