I tell you our biggest problem is Paqueta. He is a luxury we can't afford and needs to be sold.

Soucek occasionally provides a goal but would you sacrifice no midfield control for him. And why do managers persist with him. If we were 3-0 up with 2 mins left, I still wouldn't play him

Let's start being realistic. How many players do we think will we still have next season in the Championship?

And why are the managers never learning what we already know. Can somebody out there please say something because its the same thing happening again and again

Yes it's all paquetta, the central defence definitely aren't a liability, souchek and Irving are great, starting paqutta as a striker was genius ( it was all paquettas fault he was a luxury that tactical masterstroke didn't work out)

I didn't think paquetta was anywhere near the biggest problem on that pitch last night and hasn't been for ages, the biggest problem is and has been the central defence that can't defend, followed by a lack of a decent striker, very strange why youd single out paqueeta who at least tried to get something going attack wise

Why are we not playing Igor Julio, this is a player who palace wanted to replace Guehi, we basically stopped Guehi moving to Liverpool when we signed Julio, but I would still look at the free transfer market just to help out and get us to January.

So depressing to watch? We can’t blame Nuno so early, we all know what we have is not his squad, common sense, all this playing players out of position, they are not professional if they can’t play in other positions, only exception is obviously Keeper! Forwards should be able to switch as should defenders, but that’s just my take on it for which I will get get some stick for from all the wishful Football Managers that haven’t got a clue what goes on inside the club! Sorry chaps to those I may upset?⚒⚒⚒⚒

When paqueta dropped deeper yesterday he received more passes and played more passes than irving and soucek did combined all game, and that was with those 2 donkeys still on the pitch.

Our CBs aren't the best and i'm sick of their half hearted attempts to head the ball no fight between them but we aren't giving them much of a chance allowing opposition to run at them time and time again.

Have to say we've been bad but the standard of officiating has been awful as well, numerous fouls missed or giving against us, soft fouls carded against us but no consistency. Throws, corners given the wrong way. Feels like we've been given nothing but get lots given against us.

Having a bit of a rant but I'm sick of the time wasting, the tactics, the officiating. The ownership.

I don’t understand the constant criticism of Paqueta. I know he dabbles in histrionics now and then which is annoying but he has more creativity than most. And to suggest Souchek should be in the starting line up ahead of him is ludicrous. Souchek and Irving should be on the bench and Potts, Fernandez, Magassa, and Paqueta should form some sort of midfield which will give our ropey CBs more protection and also give us more transitioning to attack.
We haven’t got much in the way of backup but I would still like to give Kante or Fearon a place on the bench as I have heard a lot of good things about them. Hopefully Nuno can persuade Malencovic or Murillo to leave Forest in the transfer window….

HD, you and I agree and disagree in equal measure but for me Paqueta is one of those we have to disagree on. My old grandad would say “he’s all fur coat and no knickers”! It can look nice and the tricks entertain but ultimately there’s no end product. As I said after Monday given a choice between him a Jordan Henderson I’d take Henderson everytime as its what we need. Don’t get me wrong in another side Paqueta would probably flourish, Man City for example have the luxury of 10 good to excellent players around him giving him licence to perform his little tricks. We sadly don’t and at this moment in time need a couple of Collie Dogs and a Pit Bull, not a poodle ……

Totally agree Dabber. Whilst the obvious issues are CB and midfield, he doesn't offer enough for me

Dabber also agree with you and disagree.
I would say currently Potts Fernandez and Magassa start ahead of Paqueta but if it is a choice of souchek, Irvine or Paq man to start it has to be Paq man. I don’t know enough about formations give Paqueta free rein to roam rather than a fixed position.
Like most fans souchek seems a great likable fella who scores the odd goal and works hard but his actual pace and ability are now found wanting and i feel is a hindrance and that’s not just at club level I think the Chechs are thinking the same.

Evidently, McTominay loves playing for Napoli, but is homesick. We should be all over that signing if possible. When he was available 18 months back with Maguire I said they’d both be quality signings. Many on this site shouted them down. These are the players we need now.

I’m not sure about Maguire, although he would be far better than our current CBs, but I personally have always thought McTominay is an extremely underrated player. I know the emphasis is always on young players but some older players are a good shout. Look at Granit Xacka now at Sunderland 36 and best stats on distance covered during games this season

I’d take them both at this moment in time
