All b.s.

2.) 04 Jun 2021 21:38:07
- - - When I see it.

3.) 07 Jun 2021 18:29:58
I think Karl will happen. Just the feeling I get (smoke and fire springs to mind) . Same can be said for junior Firpo. I think if we get Kral, we may well and truly consider offers for Rice north of £90m. I’d hate to see it but I think it could happen. Then they will go and buy a back of DM from somewhere else for around £20-30m.
Patson Daka I would love to be true. The lads a speed machine! Just what we need for counter attacking football.
If we could just get rid of Yarmalenko and Anderson, this would Go somewhat in negating the need to sell Rice.

anyone heard or thie coufal who we are signing? he is a RB from slavia prague like soucek.

hardcorehammer

{Ed002's Note - The interest has been there for some time but the club cannot get their preferred choices and have returned to VC. I am not so sure it is a good idea.}

1.) 01 Oct 2020 11:30:17
cheers ed see slavia confirm it but had no idea who he was so we are settling for like 5th choice haha typical west ham.

{Ed002's Note - After Cash, Celik, Sidibe and Sarr you mean? I guess so.}

2.) 01 Oct 2020 12:24:44
5th was a random guess but bloody hell we are and always will be a shambles under sullivan.

{Ed002's Note - The money is not there unless it can be raised through sales. Selling the likes of Felipe Anderson and Lanzini has been a problem because of clubs suffering pandemic-related losses and not having the money to spend - further complicated by the wages. It is not the fault of the owners.}

3.) 01 Oct 2020 20:55:00
That hasn't stopped chelsea, Everton villa, Liverpool, city, utd ED so why west ham . COYI.

{Ed002's Note - Well Chelsea are spending money they have earned in the transfer market, Aston Vill and Everton have FFP issues and have to balance the books. Liverpool have no money and have built future debt and are desperately trying to sell players. Manchester City are spending within their means. Manchester United are using money scheduled to pay off debt and a loan facility.}

4.) 01 Oct 2020 22:51:45
I like the look of this Coufal bloke. Not flashy but hard working and looks to know his stuff defensively. I Seem to remember him pocketing Sancho when the Czech Rep. beat England last year.

5.) 02 Oct 2020 07:44:02
Well he is signed so hopefully he turns out to be good and works hard. Another Soucek would be okay.

6.) 02 Oct 2020 08:02:55
Hardcore, as BillyWhizz said, looks like good talented hard working player as a lot of these Eastern Euro players can turn out to be! Reading on Sofia site and very good comments about him! For the talked about fee of £6m that’s got to be a steal if it works out, seems the deal is almost done!
He may have been well down the choice list but to be honest how many full backs are playing in football, so you can’t be up to scratch with all of them! Just hope the medical is OK, we don’t want another sidelined later due to a reoccurring injury problem! ⚒⚒⚒.

7.) 02 Oct 2020 07:47:22
What sort of sactions are clubs looking at for breach FFP? it doesn't look to have slowed everton down at all.

{Ed002's Note - Everton have to be compliant with the FFP rules in respect of their wages and with their spending - to do this they have to have guaranteed sales in place by the end of the season to balance the books and assets such as Moise Kean will be gone. There are wide ranging sanctions available to The FA and to UEFA that can be applied.}

8.) 02 Oct 2020 08:13:40
Ed2 when you mention its not a good idea is that because you don't rate Coufal or believe better options (money permitting) are out there?

Secondly we see so many players linked, realistically who is/ are the most likely to fill the CB role?

Venakan, any legs and if yes how far apart is our offer?

On the out side, who do you see going?

Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing special about Coufal and it seems like desparation to someone who is at least fifth choice. The club could have looked to fringe players in the Premier League (such as Dujon Sterling), players with relevant experience being offered to English sides (such as Ola Aina) or to the Championship to find a player who would have more relevant experience.

At CB, with Fofana and Rugani having moved elsewhere and first choice Tarkowski seemingly too expensive, the remaining options in what I would expect to be the order of preference are seemingly:

Nikola Maksimovic (CB) Everton, West Ham and Inter Milan have all spoken to Napoli about Maksimovic.
Mykola Matviyenko (CB) West Ham, Leeds, Wolves and Fenerbahce have shown an interest. Arsenal looked at him in January but stepped back as it seemed a Work Permit would need to be applied for under the exemption scheme. Moyes not keen - I would scratch him for now.
Domagoj Vida (CB) if the interest in JT is dropped, WHU could look again - I wouldn't.
Tosin Adarabioyo (CB) has been offered around PL clubs with Manchester City wanting a buy back clause of some type included in a deal. Leeds have shown some interest. There were also discussions with Crystal Palace, West Ham and Newcastle. One that should be of more interest to WHU.

Hans Vanaken (AM) an option to Ross Berkley but maybe space would need to be made by the departure of Anderson or Lanzini.

West Ham would like to raise funds and make space through the same of Anderson or Lanzini - but it is proving difficult. They are expecting Chelsea to make an offer for Declan Rice. Xande Silva has the interest of West Brom.}

9.) 02 Oct 2020 10:25:48
And don’t forget we’ve got until the 16th to sign players from the championship?

10.) 02 Oct 2020 12:24:34
Interesting thoughts, Ed02. What was your opinion of Soucek before we took him on loan? Have we just been lucky with him? I’m sure Soucek’s opinion was sought about Coufal.

Well, I guess we’ll see, but, for the time being, I’ll be optimistic about him.

{Ed002's Note - He was very well thought of - my last notes were from November 2019: Soucek has been of interest to a number of German sides including Eintracht Braunschweig, Augsburg and Stuttgart. Legia Warsaw and Lugano stepped away after enquiring in 2018 because of the cost. Burnley and West Ham are looking for loans.}

11.) 02 Oct 2020 12:48:40
Benrahma and Rodon are still possibles.

12.) 02 Oct 2020 15:08:21
Cheers, Ed02.

13.) 02 Oct 2020 22:52:35
Whats your thoughts about the croatian cb at Marseilles we are linked with, ed? As a player, and our chances of getting him? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Duje Caleta-Car (CB) Manchester City have made a general enquiry about availability of the left sided CB - previous interest of Seville has gone. West Ham have asked the lady from Marseille (who is in London at the moment) over another matter to meet with them on to discuss Morgan Sanson and Caleta-Car. Marseille don't want to sell this summer and expect Manchester City will follow up next summer.}

14.) 02 Oct 2020 23:20:26
Thanks for that EDS.

so claret and hugh claiming that CAA are the ones involved in this very timely takeover bid. kind of strange how the news broke after season ticket deadline was extended.

2.) 16 Jul 2019 10:53:55
Eintracht and @WestHamUtd have agreed terms for the transfer of @HallerSeb. Haller has now been cleared to undergo a medical in London. If all goes to plan then Haller will sign with the Hammers. #SGE

that is what it says on their official twitter account. #COYI.

3.) 16 Jul 2019 11:06:46
I posted a lot earlier but again my post was not shown keeps happening?

{Ed033's Note - Please don't put an email address in the form.

4.) 16 Jul 2019 11:45:22
Just seen a report that another PL team[manU] ready to make late bid anyone has any news on this?

5.) 16 Jul 2019 13:03:52
Hiya john I'm 95% sure it's UTD or EVERTON. COYI.

6.) 16 Jul 2019 13:26:10
Inter Milan and a CHAMPIONS LEAGUE team have shown interest. My guess would be Napoli or Lille/ Lyon.

7.) 16 Jul 2019 14:13:07
I hope their Twitter post didn't signal some other clubs could just be the papers making rubbish up as usual easy clicks for them.

GET HIM SIGNED QUICK.

8.) 16 Jul 2019 14:44:26
To be fair, would be really surprised if anyone could hijack it at this stage.

9.) 16 Jul 2019 13:05:47
Any news Ed on an unamed premier league team trying to hijack west hams transfer of HALLER. COYI.

{Ed002's Note - I know nothing of a PL side.}

10.) 16 Jul 2019 13:50:37
Inter and Dortmund both interested in late bids apparently.

Any thoughts on their interest Ed and ability to match our offer to both club and player?

Assumedly Frankfurt put their Twitter message out to alert other clubs that it was now or never?

{Ed002's Note - He has been seen as an option for Dortmund - but not first choice.}

11.) 16 Jul 2019 16:14:07
You think it will go through ed?

{Ed002's Note - There has to be a great chance of signing him - then maybe look at Maupay.}

12.) 16 Jul 2019 17:25:38
Guessing it would be a bit like Liverpool debating going for Callum Wilson or a more guaranteed and high profile finished article of a player.

13.) 16 Jul 2019 17:45:42
Thanks ed.

14.) 16 Jul 2019 22:34:52
As mentioned a couple of days ago, by all accounts he has some sort of clause that allows a CL team to get him for an unspecified fee. Again CL team really only means England, Spain, Italy, France, Germany so 15 or so clubs of which several won’t have space so a concern but if he does sign we really need the team as a whole to push forward so players don’t want to leave. As someone said yesterday, would be sad if players didn’t have ambition to play CL, but while CL is probably a way off yet, we need to players to be feeling they have the players around them to push the club forward.

15.) 17 Jul 2019 08:45:06
just a question. but say by some miracle west ham qualified for the champions league then another champions league came in for him. how would that work?

16.) 17 Jul 2019 11:51:49
Don’t know - let’s hope it’s something we have to worry about hardcore.

the nonsense that is david sullivan and transfer deadline day, i imagine teams cringing when they see david sullivan flashing on their caller id.

sullivan on talk sport this morning and brady in the paper saying premier league stadiums are safer than peoples living rooms only for moyes diop and cullen to catch the virus

pr nightmare united strikes again.

hardcorehammer

1.) 23 Sep 2020 12:50:38
They clearly never used the communal toilets at the Boleyn then.

2.) 24 Sep 2020 13:41:35
On my commute to the living room I usually only encounter my partner frantically trying to hide the remote for the TV. Quite different to the packed/ crammed tube accross london with everyone breathing and coughing on each other, and the handrails that everyone then touches. Complete nonsense that a stadium is safer than home LOL
I want fans back as soon as possible, but comments like this are so stupid. They will always be more dangerous than staying at home, only and idiot would hint/ say otherwise. The only way my lounge would be more risky is if i were to invite 20+ people round to watch it with me and share a buffet.
When i am allowed to go back to a stadium it will be my choice to take the EXTRA risk it brings to both myself AND those around me.

3.) 24 Sep 2020 19:14:04
I think you will find the owner has a vested interest in fans returning, hence the comment.

14 Jan 2020 11:18:52
hey eds seen that west ham are again in the top 20 rich list just wondering what this actually means. like are we cash rich or is that set in assets etc? thanks.

hardcorehammer

{Ed002's Note - It means nothing. It relates to an estimate of what the owners would get if the club is sold subject to them paying any debt.}

1.) 14 Jan 2020 17:10:53
Seen so much stuff online about 18th richest this and that. thanks for clearing it up ed.

2.) 16 Jan 2020 10:55:33
Ed002 the rich list by Deloittes is actually based on annual revenue not net worth, West ham would qualify due to the TV money, sponsorship and the ticket sales.

{Ed002's Note - That is the football money league which is something different.}

3.) 16 Jan 2020 11:04:09
That is where we are ranked 18th, it is the Deloittes Rich List. We had revenue of euro 216.4 mill last year ahead of Everton and Napoli. Barcelona overtook Real Madrid as number 1 by restructuring their business operations. Happy for you to call it whatever but the revenue is where we are 18th richest.

{Ed002's Note - It is not to do with being "rich" - it is simply the revenue for the year. Everton for example are running at a significant loss and nearly 90% of their turnover goes on wages.}

4.) 16 Jan 2020 19:45:02
It’s just what Deloittes call it - the one you are referring to is the Forbes list I believe.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with how }
“Rich” a club is.}

27 Jul 2019 08:02:04
How does everything works once a transfer has been completed. like with moving house/ country and family etc. Do clubs have people to do that for the players or do the players hire somebody maybe or leave it to their wives/ girlfriend/ parent etc.

hardcorehammer

{Ed001's Note - depends on the club and then the player. Some clubs have staff to help, others, particularly at the lower levels, leave it to the players.}

1.) 28 Jul 2019 22:07:51
nice one ed.

Got to hold my hands up as I didn't think we would get this deal over the line so well done west ham can't wait to see him and fornals this season coming we now need another C/ DM and maybe another defender. COYI.

ed is there any team worse than west ham whem it comes to transfer dealings?

so many teams seem to indentify a target then sign them but west ham are always linked with a number of players and the then end up with a loan or a cheap option or nobody.

hardcorehammer

{Ed002's Note - The problem still seems to be that there is no other football person in the hierarchy who can, with the coach and the scouts, decide on a short list of targets that the club can stick to. Whilst the Dildo Brothers should quite rightly be identifying the finances available, there should be a Director of Football or similar working with Moyes and the scouts to say, for example, we will let Haller go and we will spend the money on Boulaye Dia as first choice else Josh King or look Moussa Marega on a pre-contract and shore up the defence with James Tarkowski. It seems to be a far more random approach flip-flopping between targets. On the plus side Jack Sullivan was not appointed Director of Football.}
