I was interested on Saturday to listen to the pundits talking about how West Ham have released/ sold/ loaned out 20 players this summer. They suggested that we will have a much tighter group of players which should make for a better dressing room and training ground. I think we almost have the squad that West Ham need to challenge for top 6 so I was pleased to here this comment cause it is all these things that give a club the balance they need to do well. I just hope Pellegrini has the right tactics now. I don't mind the attacking style but he worries me when we play teams like Man city. Surely against a team like that and also in our away games he should be a little more worried about defending and put an extra defensive midfielder in and sacrifice one of his 5 attacking players. He can always replace that person later in the game with a more attacking person but at least let's get to 60 minutes without conceding any goals.

That was terrible to watch on Saturday but although Spurs eased up once they got the third Antonio coming on with all his bluster, strength and speed perked up Haller dramatically. So I agree Markro, there is nothing wrong with Haller, he just needs the right kind of support.

I wish Pelle would realise we can't play like Man City and change the system, a back three perhaps with Ogbonna, Rice and Cresswell, wing backs with Masuaku and Fredericks, midfield of Noble, Sanchez and Wiltshire and Haller and Antonio up front.

I have to agree with you all, future looking exciting however my worry now is that we have had a few more long term injuries so look pretty exposed if the likes of Rice, Obiang, Noble get injured, any suggestions who you think would replace those three if they get injured.

Its interesting and significant that the your comments above revolve around the midfield. Arnie and even Hernandez can score goals with the right support and I still think defensively given a bit of time to get to know each other Fredericks, Cresswell, Diop and Balbuena will do OK, but who to play in midfield.

Without Noble we don't seem to have a leader who can get the team working hard so although I don't think he is perfect he is more important than Wiltshire.

We have known for seasons we need defensive midfielders who are fast aggressive and can run all day. Well we don't have any of them so have to make do with 2 out of Sanchez, Rice, Obiang

We have to hope Anderson replaces Lanzini and I still like Antonio cause he can score goals from midfield.

Would be nice to see this team click soon.

I love your team Bobbywhufc, I would love to see Holland given a chance, even 30 minutes for a couple of games to see if he can cope with premiership same with Masuaku. The best defences in the world rely on a combination of competence and understanding, they don't always need to be the best defenders but know how to cover each other. Pelle needs to pick the best combination and then stick to it for a few games so they can build themselves that understanding and I think, as long as they are capable of being in the same team I think any 4 of Fredericks, Ogbonna, Reid, Diop and Cresswell must be given a chance.

Our midfield has stopped working, back in September everyone was glowing about it but what now. I am hugely disappointed that Fornals hasn't worked, Lancini is injured but has always been fickle and Wiltshire, Anderson, Snodgrass, Noble, Rice have lost their way. Having Antonio back will be good news, though he is prone to injury.

Haller back in September was being picked for 20 goals plus this season but with no support doesn't seem to have any confidence any more.

It does seem to come down to the manager doesn't it, if he hasn't turned things around by Christmas then he must go cause we will then definitely be in a relegation battle and I don't think he is capable of handling that.

I was interested to see Anderson playing a lot in the middle of the pitch, Did anyone else notice. In fact at one point he chased back into the right fullback slot whilst a very lazy Lanzini was sitting out on the left wing. Was this Anderson recognising Lanzini having an off day and trying to take on some of his work or a game plan?

Well said Marko, Pelle is allowing him to acclimatise, he has come on as sub in pretty much every game and I think I am right to say his best position would be in centre of midfield where Lanzini and Wiltshere operate.

I personally think he came to us needing to get fitter and faster to be able to get up to Prem league standard.

Yes I have to agree that Hernandez never really made his mark at West Ham but watching Saturdays game it is interesting to see that without the pace of Arnautovich and now Antonio we are playing down the wing more and those balls into the penalty area from the by-line would be right up Hernandez street.

Passing in midfield was terrible, Wiltshire, Fornals and Snodgrass were really bad. Funny enough I thought Sanchez played well. He was always there to be passed to and kept play moving, he doesn't have Noble ability for longer passes that can open up defence though.

I was a little disappointed with the new striker Ajeti, I was hoping for more pace and class.
