Not a great start to the season, but it's one of the city games out of the way. let's hope we don't meet them too often this season. I agree we can't play so may attacking players, it's not fare on the young boy rice.

And please give Johnson the start. does cresswell think his performance merits even playing for the reserves?

You would think we can only play 3 Of the fair players against the better teams so we definitely need a defensive midfielder with a physical presence and pace to help Rice otherwise we will get overrun big time, and we need a back up front man in the Haller mould then we're ready to go.

If if if a player comes along either cf or CB without stupid wage demands aking with sky high signing on fees ( I am alluding to free agents ) then we may still get a player or two if not then it might be pull up the drawbridge and we go with what he have . I've a feeling that the pot for this window is about spent.

Anybody else concerned that we have not
strengthened our defence or holding midfield
area as last season we got over run in both
these areas.
Our full backs are not great, Diop and Balbuenna
have been suspect on occasions, rice can’t
hold the midfield on own, Sanchez is poor,
noble is too slow .
I’m actually quite concerned for our season.

Arp, not really. It is what it is, we are going for attack and following the Arsenal/ Liverpool way that was copied off us anyway. I really don't think we will hit top six but if we can play exciting footy, maybe have a cup run etc we will have set yourself for next year.
Just remember 2022 is the year the owners can sell - if we get the right buyers will be amazing but credit to the Dave's and finally getting a top quality manager in and leaving transfers to Husillos. Will take 3/ 4 years (whoever owns us) to be with any shout of regular top 6. Our straight rivals at the moment are everton, wolves and Leicester. Unfortunately we blew our load last year when this year Chelsea/ man utd are looking weak :- (.

I agree with arp. LB and DM especially are positions we desperately need to strengthen, otherwise clean sheets are going to be few and far between for us this season.

Noble has never had pace, he reads the game, therefore he can be a move in front of the opposition. Sanchez struggles at Villa.

I feel Noble could play just in front of our centre backs.

Who will take penalties if Noble does not play?

Hiya ARP you ate spot on mate NOBLE SNODGRASS are far too slow at closing down opposition players in midfield and we get picked apart as they have far too much time to look up a few times before there's any sign of a challenge we are definitely 1 short in C/ DM and at the back if which we will get injurys as I hate players playing out of position. COYI.

Loving the transfer window this season hopeing we don't have to sell any of are assets but what the likelihood of moving on the fringe players

A year too long IMO another deadwood player who if we are going to move away from mid table to fighting relegation players like SNODGRASS just ain't up to the standard we should be looking at even your bench should be strong enough to come on and be as good as who they replaced which has been the problem at west ham for years a few injurys and we are bang in trouble in today's money and parachute payments shouldn't be the case that's my opinion and it's a game of opinions. Sorry Whorya disagree mate, we ain’t a top 6.club where we have enough top class to sit on the bench waiting to come on, that’s obvious, when we are regularly competing in Europe and the top players are only prepared to go to clubs in that position, then as fans we can be fussy, but that’s dreamland otherwise! We have to accept we have to have lesser talented or older players that are prepared to accept they will sit on the bench more often than not! Snoddy has been great imo for his dedication and deserved another contract, I can think of several others I would prefer to get rid of before Snoddy!

It's all about opinions chelms and while we disagree on SNODGRASS I won't change my mind on signing players like FORNALS that's what we should be looking at fir the future to improve west ham while we need youth blended in with experiance IMO SNODGRASS does not improve our squad and I go with about 7 or 8 friends to the lonDon stadium we are all of the opinion that he just isn't what we should be aiming at otherwise we will stagnate or go backwards but no hard feelings chelms as we both want what's good for our beloved club. COYI.
