Hearing rumours that the gabigol deal may be dead in the water due to us not being able to secure a work permit. Any news ironmike.

If that’s the case, should any other club be able to get a work permit or is it to do with the number of foreign nationals we already have? Be interesting to know⚒⚒⚒⚒.

{Ed002's Note - If he is eligible for a work permit he will be able to get one, the club doesn't make a difference. The player needs a minimum of four points and summary goes something like this:
- The value of the transfer fee (alone) that is to be paid is between the top 75% and 100% of all transfers to Premier League clubs in the previous 2 windows - 3 points
- The value of the transfer fee being paid for the player is between 50% and 75% of all transfers to Premier League clubs in the previous 2 windows - 2 points
- The basic wage (excluding bonuses) being paid to the player by the new club is in the top 25% of the top 30 earners at the club - 3 points
- The basic wage (excluding bonuses) being paid to the player by the new club is between 50% and 75% of all the top 30 earners at the club - 2 points
- Subjectively, the player’s current club is in a recognised "top" league and the player has played in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes - 1 point
- The player’s existing club has played in the group stages or onwards of the Champions League, Europa League or the Copa Libertadores within the last 12 months and the player has played in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes - 1 point
}

Thank you Ed👍Who males those rules😂 at least I guessed right that the club shouldn’t make a difference, thanks again Ed, you are a font of Football knowledge, hope you’re earning as much as some of our players😂😂⚒⚒⚒.

{Ed002's Note - the rules are set in England consulting with government. The rules vary across all European countries and are the strictest in terms of work permits.}

Thanks ed.

Hi Ed, so it is sticking on the last point? What constitutes his existing club, having played for Santos for a year he would qualify, if Inter then he is a point short?

{Ed002's Note - I do t actually know the situation as I am on the road right now.}

We couldn't sign him at the moment anyway could we? Don't we already have 17 non home grown players in the squad? Unless we offload someone (who's not English, Welsh or an academy product) we can't sign anyone over the age of 21 who's not "home grown" I think.

We are waiting on the departure of Perez then we will see on gabigol.

i wonder how hard or easy it was to get balbuena a permit?

8.) 09 Jan 2019 09:54:52
Balbuena would have been P easy, depending on salary he has either 4 or 5 points on ED002s guide listed above. Came from Corinthians who were in Copa SudAmerica but also won the league last year.

Yeah. Not seeing an awful lot of movement on the Perez front. Think we're lumbered with him for the duration.
