Does anyone know what is going on with the Maia bid as it has gone all quiet on this one now. Looks a big talent and well worth going for could be a star in the future.

IF we get Maia personally would sell Obiang to take Struaro or RLC on loan. That would be two upgrades Maia for Kouyate and Struaro/ RLC for Obiang. Not sure how much is in the wage budget but the potential Bernard and Meraga deals are exciting. Not sure if we have the money for all 4 (Maia, Struaro, Bernard and Marega) would be outstanding if we did but would need to sell the below to possibly fund;

Byram 5m
Snodgrass 10m
Obiang 10-15m
Hugill 7m
Oxford 14-18m
Youth loans 1-3m cumulative fee

Admittedly those fees are probably aspirational but would be about right in todays market.

I don't understand how oxford is worth so much? What has he done? How can he be worth more then someone like Obiang. If he was so special why can't he make the bench.

Oxford still has huge potential which he could fulfil and young talent is always at a premium, and was what we have asked before. Personally I would sell Obiang for the same as Oxford, but based on the money offered and what we have accepted the fee is a reflection of that.

Seeing all over social media that Max Meyer is looking "Close" for Palace IF true great deal for them, but surely we should be all over that?

Can only imagine that we don't have the wage budget at this time to commit to his demands.

IRONMIKE, do you know if we ever went back in for Meyer at all or if our interest was concrete enough to convince him we are the right club for him.

No we didn’t go back I don’t know what kind of deal he’s done with Palace who are pleading poverty , he’s chosen the wrong club that’s for sure if he goes there but they have lost Cabaye so they are taking the plunge I guess, On the banter page I posted what his demands were. IRONMIKE.

Hammered mate - read West Ham banter page - mike discusses Meyer there âš’.

Hammered Mike has addressed this on the banter page.

Cheers all and IRONMIKE.

Was already thinking that Palace would be paying through the nose for him, which fair play to them getting him as is a good player. Is a stepping stone for him and fully compensated too with crazy wages.

IRONMIKE is there only news on our reported interest on Max Meyer or Milan Badelj?

Personally would prefer Meyer as new DM (recently moved from 10 to 6) as 22, had best season since moving position and potential to be world-class. I have seen he wage demands are about 77k so imagine has the club concerned. Although is that really that bad if you consider in two years if he develops he would be pure profit?

I do know a little Meyer is being offered around the EPL asking some ridiculous Wages 165 k sterling a week plus SOF. Whilst Badelj is hoping to go to Zenit. IRONMIKE.

Would love Obiang to stay but when he’s been tempted and unless he’s confirmed he prefers to stay, think we are better to bite the bullet asap than keep a discontented homesick player! No idea what his value is but Mike says £13m offer, which is ridiculous for a 26 year old with plenty of International experience, so that should be an “on yer bike” job to Sampdoria, no less than £20/ 25m if he is desperate to go? Don’t know what his wages are with us, but we should be able to match the €77k Samdoria offer, I would have expected him to be on that already to be honest if not he should be, considering the stupid wages we are paying some others, a reasonable pay parity scheme should always be expected especially when you are already an established player that’s shown some loyalty! ⚒⚒⚒⚒.

3.) 21 Jul 2018 13:56:10
Just looked at wage structure, Obiang £55k weekly.

4.) 21 Jul 2018 14:04:45
What international experiance has obiang got chelms sorry if I've read it wrong mate.

Read that they want €60-€70m which is crazy money for us to splash on a single player.

Going to be an interesting couple of window this one and the summer.

Is the bid dependant on Arnie leaving? Or they looking to secure him for summer should Arnie decide to stay?

RLC is exactly the type of player our midfield is missing true box to box player and an eye for goal too, if we could get Pereria too then that is a very competitive midfield with good passing and skill.

IRONMIKE any chance we are looking at Denis Suarez at Barça too?

I'd take Wanyama if the fee was agreeable he is a very strong CDM and so hard to get off the ball.

Cheers Mike that all makes sense about the revenue and fingers crossed we win the court case to get the 66,000 we was promised when we signed the deal for the stadium.

Should we get Maxi, quality CDM (dependant on sales) in addition to Sanchez what a window this would be. Patience would be needed for everyone to bed in but Pellegrini would have bought a squad for his 3 year tenure and beyond, with then only depth tor improvements needed each window and no glaring weaknesses or imbalance.
